It was true that when it came to decisions about the things that mattered in their lives that they usually came to an agreement to decide on the same thing since their lives were heading in the same direction and they wanted most of the same things with the same morals. It was only really the small things that they tended to disagree about and now that she looked at it, it appeared that even those were getting less and less since they seemed to be on the same page about a lot of the things now even when it came to the wedding where he seemed to be pleased as long as she was happy. Sure he had his imputs but as he had voiced long before they even started to plan he did not overly care too much about it as long as it was going to make her happy. She was not as particular as a lot of girls were over their wedding day since she knew that the real treat was going to be the ability to get to spend everyday with the man and knowing that they were married. That seemed to appeal to her the most right now and some of the days she wished she could just tell him that she wanted to make a trip to Las Vegas to one of those cheesy alters and simply return as man and wife though she knew that Damiens parents would end up terribly upset and she was positive that his parents would not think too much of the idea either even though the ultimate decision was to be left up to him and her. The rest of their night was as effortless as it had been lately and she then awoke much too early in the morning though Cairo did not seem to care since it meant that she was going to get a much longer walk than usual. When he met her in their apartment he wished her luck in finding the dress before planting a kiss on her lips and then going their separate ways for the day that passed so quickly as she made her choice and paid for the dress and the alterations that were going to be done right at the store. When she reached the lobby of the hotel again and passed into the fitness center he seemed alarmed to see that she had intentions of ripping him right out of the office as she grinned and gave him no option and barely with enough time to call to someone working to take over for him for the rest of the day before they were then in the elevator. When she told him that she was starting to get a little more nervous since the dress really had made her aware that this was all really happening he took her into his arms and she instantly felt better about it all. I guess its kind of too late to suggest that we make a trip to Las Vegas. I mean I have always wanted to married at a cheesy chapel by an Elvis impersonator. She said in a joking manner with a small chuckle as she buried her face into his chest. When she then told him that he was going to have to do something that was not going to rank too high on his to-do list he seemed to get a little offended but brows were raised slightly. Don’t say I did not warn you. She uttered her warning before then passing through the door and starting to get ready. She dressed charcoal coloured silky dress that flattered the dark hair of the girl and sparkling green eyes. Once they were both ready she took his hand escorting him down the elevator and to the truck that would take them to the restaurant glad that the rest of the girls would be joining them for dinner, hopefully that would mean that Damien’s father was going to be on his best behavior but with the look that he gave her as he spoke with her and introduced himself briefly to Erixic she knew that this was not the case as he took a seat across from his son and she checked on them briefly to notice the tense stance that Damien was holding. She did not want to make a scene though so she continued to speak with their mother who asked Erixic a million and one questions and barely stopped talking enough for them to speak. She simply sat there as she ordered her food and noticed that Damien was on his way out of the restaurant she was about to stand up when she caught him meeting her eyes and signaling for her not to. Usually when dealing with his father he just needed a few moments of a breather. A small sigh passed her lips as she then took her mans hand under the table. As dinner finished they announced that they were paying for everyone’s meals as they stood an announced that they planned on retiring early to the room they had been booked in the hotel. She nodded then turned to Erixic by the time everyone had announced them leaving. Pirzi’s not home. Would you protest if I suggested we go out tonight. Maybe go to a club to go dancing? It had been a long time since they had been a night without Pirzi and had a night to themselves.

Frown crossed features as the man shook Damien's hand. The other male seemed distracted and perhaps a little annoyed. Eye sight shifted to the father of both his fiancé and the hotel owner. Though he tried to hide it, the older man was irritated as well. What could the father and son have to talk about that would make both appear so unhappy during a moment like this when all involved were supposed to be happily celebrating the couples engagement? Whatever it was, Erixic was grateful that they at least attempted to hide it from Ayrn. God knew, as did the men involved, that the lass deserved to be free from distraction and worry that did not involve the upcoming wedding that all involved were anxiously awaiting. Her and knew there was no way the lady would not notice, but hopefully with the pair downplaying it as they were, only momentary thought would be wasted on others affairs so the maiden might be able to fully focus on herself. As they all took their seats, the shifter allowed his focus and vision to wander among those gathered. Though this lunch was meant mainly for him to meet her parents, it doubled also as an official engagement party that they had been unable to plan up until now. Part of him wished he had been informed earlier so his parents could also be apart of meal, but they had spent ample time with his parents and none with hers soothe importance lay foremost in spending time with the other side of the wedding party. Chatter had begun among the groomsmen and bridesmaids robe at the other end of the table; all looked eager and relaxed in the others company which caused him great pleasure. The damsel at his side was busily trying to catch up with her parents and he did his best to listen with one ear to the conversation just in case his input was needed thought his attention was fully captured by Haley Ann and the bloke beside her as the gentleman stood to pull out the chair for the lady and she, after shyly smiling at him, sat into the seat offered and folded the napkin into her lap before picking up the menu to look it over. Neither party appeared to relax and actually seemed rather awkward sitting beside one another. His name pulled him into the talk going on right in front of him so little time was left to wonder about what had happened between them to make their interaction so tense before he answered a question fired to him by her mother with a smile while seemingly not missing a beat in the process of what led up to his involvement. Smiling at the woman to his side, he squeezed her hand beneath the table before the waiter brought out the drinks and took the food order. Pleasant company always made time seem to fly and though the drake was answering questions that her mom shoot at him like rapid fire, he did consider the entire ordeal pleasant, so it came as a surprise to him when he glanced up to see waiters carrying food to their table when it seemed only a few minutes ago they had ordered instead of the twenty five minutes which had actually passed. Greeting the employees with gracious words and a gentle grin, he thanked them for the food and waited till everyone had their dish before cutting into his own slab of steak. Fewer words were exchanged now though there seemed to be no stopping Ayrn's mother as she continued to ask him questions which he would dutifully answer after a pause. It was during such a pause that the sentences exchanged between father and son were unfortunately overheard thanks to his enhanced hearing though he happened to be sitting on the far side of Ayrn who sat next to her mother who sat next to her husband. Gaze immediately moved to the brother's face to see twist in anger just before he stood to excuse himself. At first, the sister appeared as if she was about to followed, but that motion was spotted by her brother just before Erixic broke through the awkwardness to look at their mother and answer her question. The elder lady nodded, smiling weakly before looking down at her plate and stabbing through a few leafs of her salad, obviously bothered by the exchange though it appeared she was accustomed to it as she ignored the consequences as if it were nothing. The next moment, Haley Ann received a phone call and excused herself with a lie that he easily detected having known her for quite some time. Following the lass' movements with calculating eyes, he watched her advert her gaze then exit out the same way as Damien. Later, he would get to the bottom of that, but for now his focus needed to remain on the parents. The other two were not seen again until the end of the meal just as most of the party were leaving after thanking the older couple for their generous offer to pay for the meals. After thanking them personally and promising to see them again later, the engaged pair were left alone with the parents departure to their room in the hotel. Turning his silver depths to his beloved as she reminded him of their absent daughter, he lifted his brow and allowed a devious smile to slowly turn features into a facade that spoke nothing of innocence. What man in his right mind would protest such a suggestion? Certainly not the man you are going to marry. Playfully teasing her, the bloke took her hand and began to lead her out of the door of the restaurant to the elevator so they could go to their rooms. Pulling her close once they were encapsulated inside the metal contraption alone, he bent low to whisper into her ear. It's strange to think that I would ever be this excited for alone time with you when it get it nearly every night when we go to bed, but in this state, you make me want to stay out all night to come home at five in the morning like I was a teenager. A sweet kiss landed on the skin below her elbow just as the door dinged and opened to allow they to their floor. Quickly, he unlocked their door then changed into the proper attire for clubbing: a nice pair of jeans and a short sleeved navy cotton shirt that did not quite cling to his body, but showed enough of his muscular stature that none would question how in-shape he was. Once she was ready, the grabbed the keys to his truck then led the way to the garage and driving them to a popular nearby club. They walked into the door without a problem after providing their IDs and getting wristbands showing that they could drink. After taking In the sights with a quick glance around, he got her and himself a drink and gave her ample time to finish before leading her out into the mass of people dancing. Arms pulled her close, lifting her left hand to his lips so he could kiss her soft skin near the ring that he had given her upon their engagement. Eyes never left the damsel and hardly any space was allowed between them. Strangely, he felt as if he had finally gained something back that he had been missing and this fulfillment made it hard for him to let any space between them as they danced together, easily matching the beat. No one would be foolish enough to approach either of them in this joint; not with the way he was acting as of the entire world revolved around her because didn't it?

If there was anything that she knew well it was how to tell that something was wrong with her best friend, she had grown up with him for so long that he did not even need to say anything at all. She knew that seeing 'their' parents was not the best of times for him but he was the type to just sit there and bear it since Damien knew that it meant a lot to her, she was getting married and she needed someone there even if she was not close with them. The fact that they flew all the way from Italy to be there right now was enough for her to smile right now and the fact that her life had never been this settled and she had never been so sure of what she wanted. Her eyes darted between Damien and her 'father' as if she was trying to predict when the blow up was going to happen even though she knew that both parties were going to try their best to be on their best behaviour there was no denying that it was going to happen since it was characteristic of everytime that they spent together. The stress of the wedding and trying to make every bit of planning work was something that was minimal in comparison to what both her and Erix had gone through in the last little while. Their lives has been something that was very similar to a roller coaster ride of emotions but the ultimate end result was the fact that they were getting married, for real. She really had no interest in focusing on herself as they took their seats at the table and her attention was then turned to her mothers questions that were being shot at her fiance at an alarming rate. Sage colored eyes did wander the table a couple times with a small smile directed to all the people who had shown up. She had been such a loner all her life that she would have never guessed that she would actually have enough people to compile into a wedding party but it was amazing how sometimes things really did change and it was all for the better in her way of thinking. Memories made with the others shifters that were a part of his pack were enough to make her smile and then of course there was Pirzi and the thought of their daughter no matter how unorthodox all of that had been was enough to make her feel like their life was already complete without even having to get married. I mean what was the big fuss when they were living together already and they were already raising a child? She really had known nothing of this party before it was set together and if she had known in advance she would have allowed Erix to know so that his parents were able to come but as it was with the tension in the air between Damien and their father it might not prove to be the best solution at all since there was no telling how long all of this calm was going to last. She was too busy keeping an eye on her father in front of her who was sitting there looking too stoic for her liking as an older but very different version of Damien. She felt like she was having a stand off with the older man that he did not even know about since his attention was flickering to Damien and settling there, so when Erix squeezed her hand beneath the table she nearly jumped and immediately turned her attention back to what was happening. She was able to let a small sigh of relief go when it all seemed to be fine by the time that they ordered and recieved their drinks. Just observing the way that Erix was interacting with her mother was enough to amuse her and cause a small sly grin to upturn lips at the corners. She was tempted to tell her mother to pause the assault as the food arrived but the man at her side really did not look like he minded too much so therefore it was just left at that. Of course the peace did not last and she knew that she should have sat on the other side of Erix to make sure that she came between the two of them before it was too late but before she even comprehended what was happening Damien was then passing by her apologizing to her and she nodded lightly when he bent down to kiss her on the cheek before eyes followed him to the doorway. She was still debating going after him even though she knew that it was not what he wanted when Haley Ann then stood from the table and excused herself as well and she watched suspiciously as she pursued him, she could tell that there was something going on there even if they were not willing to admit it and really she saw no problem at all with it, in fact it would be good for him. She wanted to lash out at her father but knew that it was of no use to make the entire table awkward and she knew that even if she did so that it was not going to change the fact of how often it happened, they just did not get along and they were like oil and water not to be mixed. She preferred Damien's company that was for sure. After hugs were exchanged and good byes were made she then was left with Erix. There was a small smile that toyed at her lips and a chuckle that escaped her throat when he commented that he was not going to protest about that, she knew that it was true and that was not at all the man that she was going to be married, since the two of them had been brought together through physical attraction that they were not able to combat from the very start. She followed him when he led the way to the elevator and they were left in solitude once again when the door clanked shut behind them. Her breath hitched when he then leaned close to whisper to her after being pulled close in the elevator and she was finding it hard to concentrate on the words that he was even saying. This like is better than being a teenager. Plus we can still do that, no one would know. They spent a lot of time needing to be role models for Pirzi so the fact that they were going to get the night to themselves without even worrying about the way that it was going to look to their daughter was appealing all in itself. To do something reckless ran in the blood of their species and they did not get to execute that very often. The touch of his lips on her elbow was enough to send chills through her and she even contemplated the idea of not even leaving the house that night but she did not allow that to cross her mind for too long because they needed a night out, at least she felt like she needed the ability to blow off a little steam and there was no one that she would rather do it with than Erix. The debate was made about what she was going to wear before settling on her favourite pair of jeans and a silky shirt reserved for going out. She was still wearing minimal makeup from the dinner so all that required was a check in the mirror and running a hand through dark mocha locks. After lacing her fingers with him to walk down to the truck with him she climbed into the passengers side finding that it was a place that she was finding to be very comfortable and very familiar to her now. It was a place that she loved to be since it was a safe haven to her. When they arrived at the door they were ID'ed and given bracelets. She did not take too long to finish her drink that was offered to her by the man that was at her side and as soon as that happened she was being led in the direction of the dance floor and since her eyes were only for him no one else mattered around them and they very well could have been alone in the room or surrounded by aliens and it would not matter. She leaned forward to whisper to him. I think we need to convince Pirzi to go out more often, or would that be a bad influence? She uttered softly with a small smile.

Cerulean eyes flashed playfully at her suggestion, the male loving that his lover was as excited about the upcoming night on the town as he was. It was true, ever since they had gotten back together after the woman had adopted the younger shifter, they had not had a lot of time where they could simply let loose and be the young twenty-something year olds that they were. Over the past few years, both of them had been forced to grow up fast and though there was nothing wrong with them obtaining a maturity level higher than most in their generation, sometimes they needed to let off a little steam to remind themselves that they were not nearly as old as they felt. Erixic was pleased at her suggestion that they go to a club together and a little ashamed to find that upon searching himself, he never would have thought to ask her if she wanted to go out on the town. Even though he had been completely against the reasons for their teenage daughter to venture to Los Angeles without them, he was glad for her absence because of the opportunity it gave them both. After returning to their apartment and changing into appropriate clothing, they loaded up into his truck and made their way downtown to park in a lot off the side of the main road and near to the establishment where he intended to take her. Once inside, he felt as if he had been transported back years to a time where he had gone where he wanted and done what he had wanted without consequences. Back then, the woman on his arm was simply a passing fad who would probably end up being dropped in favor for a new flavor after their one night out together. Reaching out to his woman to hook her hip and mold her body against his own, he was fully reminded that times had indeed changed and this damsel would not be getting out of his sight. Ever. Still, he was able to relax in the atmosphere he was slowly refamiliarizing himself with. Unlike then, drinking would not be a top priority though he certainly intended to enjoy two or three drinks along the way. The intent of coming here was to dance and dance they would. Knowing this, he decided to get a drink to start the night off before stepping out with her onto the floor and pulling her body against his own in a way that half the people in here wished they could to their significant other. They had been together a long time and by now were certainly comfortable with the other's touch and very familiar with the movements the other's body moved. In other couples on the dance floor, lust was the most potent emotion swirling around the air; echoed in the way that they danced with one another. Although Ayrn certainly pulled lust from his body, there was something more to the way he held her gently and the way her mass yielded to his larger one: love. Feeling their love growing stronger, the bloke lost himself in simply being and quickly lost all sense of surroundings until her lyrics broke through the personal haze in order to ask if they should convinced the youngster to do what they were doing. Protective instinct engaged before his common sense and he pulled back to frown in a disapproving and fatherly way at the thought. If I ever see she-who-is-our-young-but-not-by-blood as close to any male as you are to me right now, I will skin him alive and keep his bones as chew toys. Dark vocals of his wolf threatened just before the shifter's human brain kicked into high gear and took over. Realizing that she had only been joking, he sheepishly grinned at her due to his other half's display, but attempted to play along better with her so as to get the carefree feeling back between them. Isn't this what seemed to have gotten her in trouble in the first place? He asked lightly, chuckling some to himself, but mainly keeping his face composed as he laughed at her with his eyes and smile at the joke.

During the time that she actually was a teenager she had been going through too much to enjoy those years, she was getting over being a captive for most of her life and she was learning of what it was like to live in a semi-normal family and adjust to the life that was built in Italy with Damien's family. No matter what she always seemed to stick out like a sore thumb and she had tended to hold people at an arm's length with the exception of her best friend so a few nights out with Erixic where she was completely able to forget the rest of the world before her wedding seemed more than perfect. Since Pirzi was not there they did not need to worry about the girl walking in at any point to suite that they shared and they could even broach on acting a little irresponsible. The only person that she really did feel like herself around was the man at her side now, he had managed to break through to her in a way that she was not even aware that she could manage. Looking at how far the two of them had come over the last little while was enough to make her grin like a fool. While adopting Pirzi meant that the two did not get as much alone time as they once had she did feel like there was a void that the girl filled, she could not picture her life without the other shifter, she did not want to picture what might have happened if she had not been looking to adopt the girl at that time, what if she was forced to learn all about what she was on her own? The last thing they needed was another to go rogue. It was hard to remember that you were in your twenties when running an established building, getting married and having a kid even if she was adopted but she would not trade her life for anything, to her it was all perfect and she wanted it no other way. It had been quite a long time since she had been to a club, really the two of them could have stayed in since her only requirement for the night be that she spent it with Erix but going out was something that seemed a little different than usual. Changing from the dress that she had been wearing to dinner she changed into a lower cut red dress that was appropriate for clubbing, deciding against high heels since she was not only tall enough but she did not want sore feet from dancing she opted for a pair of ballet flats and allowed dark hair down from where it had been up in an updo for the dinner so that mocha locks were touching lightly on her shoulders in waves. As soon as he had changed as well she walked with him in the direction of the elevator and then to the truck that was waiting in the underground garage. Where they were actually going was going to be left up to him as she relaxed against the back of the seat of his truck and eyes settled on him watching him as he was driving with a small subtle smile that crawled across her lips. She really had not been in too many clubs in her life so this was quite a new experience to her, closing her fingers around his as they walked she followed him into the building where the music was booming so loud that you could feel it through the soles of your feet. She could not deny the fact that there were a lot of women that were glancing in his direction causing her to step closer to him with a small grin and fiery expression in sage colored eyes, there was no doubt that she was protective over him and laying claim something that she would have been much too timid to do when the two of them first met. She had changed quite a lot in the last few years though, but it was all for the better, Erixic really brought out the best in her. She did not need to worry about women oggling him for too long though as he reached out to bring her close to him, body heat exchanged by the close proximity causing her to take a deep breath in as breathing seemed to fail her completely for a moment. Even after this long the sparks still flew? There was something to be said for that and the way that she was captured by his eyes when they rested on hers and she was sure that the entire world could pass by them and she would not even take too much notice. They were in tune on different levels both in wolven form as well as human form and it was something that left a lot of people glaring daggers at them for, she did not even need to be paying too much attention to what was happening to keep up with him, never breaking stride and being able to anticipate his next movement. While she was used to his touch that still did not mean that she was immune to the scorching intensity between them, that was something that she was never going to be used to. She could not help but laugh when the mans protective nature flared up and eyes were rolled lightly. I think that's called a double standard. She uttered with a chuckle. She's not allowed, yet its perfectly fine that I am? She questioned with a devious glance in his direction. A light kiss was pressed to the tip of his nose in a teasing manner before fingers of her one hand ran along his jawline. He commented that this had been what had gotten her in trouble in the first place. Don't remind me, I hardly want to think about what she is doing right now, I hardly think Taelix is the best chaperone. She uttered, the traditional worried motherly instinct coming out in her.

Head lifted and a short snorting sound came from the male; exiting from his nostrils to somehow make the gesture seem more bestial. You call it a double standard, I see it as perfectly natural. Unfortunately for your father, he has let my attachment to you solidify to the point where even under threat of severe pain or death, I would not yield. Being this close to you is my right and no one has earned that with Pirzi. Combatant vocals replied, dismissing her accusation easily for in his mind it did not matter. Yes, the women would see it as a double standard that he and his mate were to enjoy time together out on the town while their daughter could only do so under threat of having her companion castrated at the end of the night, but they only saw it that way because they didn't understand. Yes, there was no doubt in his mind that Ayrn loved the girl and would do anything in her power to protect her, but the motherly instinct to protect did not project in the same way that the fatherly instinct did. He might come across as unreasonable and corrupt, but he only wanted what was best for the young lady and because he viewed her as his own, that meant that sometimes he would extend himself where he should not if he wished to stay in good favor with the young shifter. Still, he was capable of conceding sometimes. After all, he had agreed to allow teen to travel to Los Angeles with only three friends of ruffly the same age in tow. As their minds had turned to the subject, Erixic began to wonder if the girl was alright and how their little trip was going. He knew she had gone simply in order to see that musician kid which should actually speak volumes about how lenient he could be. As much as he didn't like the situation, at least Taelix had gone along with her. His previous enthusiasm for the pair to finally date had sizzled down to hopeless ashes he learned that they had indeed made an attempt in between her infatuation with that Revikr boy, but that apparently had not worked out as smoothly as the alpha had hoped for and now the young member of his pack had affections for another girl who had also gone along on the trip. Jack was really the last chance he had to hope for his daughters distraction from her boyfriend and really, the bloke had given that thought up. If she were in included to leave the lad, she would have already done so. That, of course, did not mean that he had sent her along without supervision. Oh no, Haley Anne's son had specific instructions to make sure Pirzi remained safe and such orders could not be ignored. To hear his bride's next words, it was obvious to the man that she as well had turned her thoughts to think about their daughter which made him almost crack a smile. What stopped him, however, was her skepticism about Taelix's ability. A low growl boiled in the back of his throat and he instantly tossed out the negative thoughts from his brain to keep the noise at bay. He had better show his worth in that aspect or he can expect more than words of reprimand upon their return especially because not taking care of our girl would be blatantly violating my word and that I refuse to accept even as an accident. An authoritative edge added intensity to his words as just then the music changed to something the male would prefer not to dance to. Pausing, he put his hand to rest to her hip and guided her off the dance floor, first to the bar and then to a vacant area off in the dark depths of the club with their drinks. Body pressed close to hers, blocking any view of the lady that the other men could possibly hope to have. Chin tilted and dipped as he pressed a slow, exploring kiss to her lips, relearning everything about the soft tissues and her mouth and the things which she liked. There was a brief acknowledgement of some commotion going on behind him, but he did not worry about it until a heavy collision which his back nearly sent him plowing into his female. Growling low under his breath at being interrupted, he turned around to unleash his fury to find a woman cowering from a man who appeared to be yelling at her, the words of which he could not hear over the loud music. It was apparent that the girl had been the one to bump so violently into him because her eyes were apologetic as they found his before looking every where but at the drake in front of her. The words had halted from his mouth and accusing orbs had turned upon Erixic, obvious jealousy and hate shining in brown eyes at the shifter. Grabbing the poor lass roughly, upon the upper portion of her arm, he dragged her over to where Erix stood, unable to see Ayrn standing behind him because the lord was still using his body as a wall between her and everyone else. "You lookin at something interesting? You must be pretty dumb, lookin at my girl. She's obviously taken so if I was you, I'd back off." Stance shifted, his silver liquids flashing at the warning that the stranger had just presented him with, a hard look taking over features. It looks to me like she wants nothing to do with you. How bout you leave her alone and find your way to the door. Calm vocals suggested, a hint of his power reinforcing the words without the male realizing it. Because of this, the other man released his grip on the girl a but, but then seemed to realize what had just happened and grew even more agitated. With the hand that was not latched onto his victim, the stranger threw a punch which glanced off Erix's jaw as he saw it a little too late to dodge the blow but at least he was able to avoid the majority of the strength of it. Instantly, he dropped into a fighting stance and released a punch of his own, hitting the other right in the shoulder joint to the arm that still held the woman, causing what he knew would be intense pain. Crying out, the other let his grip go and the lady was smart enough to move quickly out of reach and slowly make her way behind her defender. Smiling, the shifter straightened, thinking that the other would be smart enough to leave the situation. The next thing he knew, the other was barreling towards him, tackling the shifter with his shoulder turned into his stomach. Releasing the breath that was knocked from his lungs, Erix quickly responded with a knee in the others stomach and tossed him off of him, easily regaining his feet before going over and grabbing the pathetic excuse of a man by the back of his shirt collar. Yelling in rage, the drake began to struggle against the hold, trying to reach back and hit a blow upon his captor, all of which the drake was able to avoid as he pushed the other towards the door with an elbow in his back. Once there, he had to relax his grip and it was then that the human landed a sharp elbow to the eye ridge bone, making Erixic recoil in pain before a renewed anger overcame the feeling and the man pushed the other out of the door, barely holding in the threatening growl which the wolf wanted to release. The bouncers who were by now aware of the situation pushed the stranger further out on the street who then stalked away as they gave him the choice to leave or get picked up bay squad car. When they turned back to him, they apologized, but asked Erixic to leave for the night, telling him it was policy with anyone involved in fights and he nodded understandably, but accepted their approval of his method with a half smile before turning to find Ayrn so they could leave, confident that she would not be far. He could feel the deep bruise spreading across his face from the last blow as he found her, forcing a smile which was dropped instantly as he winced in pain. They asked us to leave for the night. Sorry babe, looks like the night is cut a little short. Apology came from his mouth before he led the way out of the club and towards the lot where they were parked, gently reaching up with his forefinger and middle finger extended to feel out the extent of the shiner which would clear up hopefully in a few hours.

Eyes were rolled lightly at him with the snort that he let out between the two of them but the gesture was light hearted and in a good nature. She had been joking when she mentioned that it was a double standard since she felt the same way about their teenage daughter as he did, there was no way that she would ever allow Pirzi to be dancing with someone in the way that the two of them were but that was different, they were older, they were going to be married and they were settled in their relationship. A relationship that you had in high school did not tend to last and was ruled by hormones in her mind at least. Erix I was kidding. She uttered softly reaching up to run fingers lightly across the man's hardened jaw. I feel the same way; if I were to see our teenage daughter behaving in this manner I would not be able to handle it. The fiery words did cause the butterflies that were always present to flip in her stomach and her pulse to race. No one expects you to yield there's no reason for it and it's not in your nature. Plus I am yours, anyone who is not completely blind can see that. She stated with a grin. Two years ago she would not have been as bold and brazen as she was right now, she did not have the same courage as she seemed to gain from being with him and finally allowing herself to flourish with the right relationship and finally being back around the hotel and the work that she loved. Not to mention the fact that she was now the protector of a teenage shifter, that had changed her quite a lot as well. Erix was free to be as protective as he liked over Pirzi he had earned that right as a loving and supportive father, he cared for her in a way that only Ayrn understood and could come close to so the fact that he was a little harder on her was only something to be appreciated and unlike most teenagers she really could see that the younger girl did appreciate it, she looked up to him for advice and had been growing a lot closer with them recently even if neither of her parents supported of her decision to want to get back with Revikr. The thought in itself was enough to make Ayrn cringe but there was no use in telling her no because if she needed to learn the hard way while she would hate every moment of watching the girl suffer it would be better that she as younger and she knew that if it were her being held back from Erixic there was no amount of people that could tell her no that would stop her. I am sure that they are all just fine, no need to worry, I mean it was not too long ago that we were teenagers, you know how it is. Taelix seems very protective over her so I am sure that he is taking care of her, I also know if there was a problem that she would contact me. Pirzi had talked to her when she arrived and she knew from that everything was alright. She felt bad for bringing all this up when this was supposed to be a night off for the two of them not to worry about anything at all but she could not help it not being able to just let loose anymore not when there were so many other things to worry about. As he led her off the dance floor steps were light following him and matching his stride easily. A drink was accepted with a small smile and a thank you before he then directed her towards the darkest side of the club, one that she would definitely not venture to without him there. The two had been together long enough that his movements were anticipated when he bent down to kiss her and she had easily moved to meet him halfway smiling against his lips before he was pressed closer to her. Arms instinctively wrapping around his neck to drawn herself closer to him. There was something that stopped him though and sent him nearly flying forward and her attention then fell on the meager girl that was standing behind him, surely she had not meant to run into him like that. It was instinct for him to take a place in front of her to protect her but it was inconvenient since she could not see what was happening until she stepped to the side. Had she been in wolf form when the words were spoken she was sure that hackles would have raised but regardless the same fiery protective instinc she felt for the man was rising to the surface and was something that should not be toyed with. She knew better to interfere though and was shocked when the other man threw a punch a low growl threatening to be brought forth but was silenced. She was even more shocked when it managed to connect with him. There was no time for her to react in any sort of way before the brawl was on, her focus was then thrown to the other girl watching to make sure that she made it out of the club with no problems at all or at least to the side that the other man was not going to be able to get at her. It was not long before Erix was dragging the man towards the door clearly the drunk was no match for a shifter. At the door she had already found her way to him and looped her arm through his lightly to rest her hand against his forearm. Silently she reached up to trace the bruise on his face thoughtfully before nodding when he told her that they needed to leave the club. That's alright because I really had no interest in sharing you and there were far too many women with their eyes on you. She murmured. Especially after the whole bar fight and 'knight in shining armor' incident, they can't have you. She teased with a light smile. Let me drive us home? It's not often that I get to take care of you. She asked, reaching for his keys hoping that there would not be too much of a protest from him, she knew that it was not going to last, their species healed unnaturally fast but still the thought of being able to care for him was appealing. Climbing into the familiar truck was a relief and the drive back to the hotel was not long at all, parking in the underground garage.

Just as the male turned his head to begin looking for his partner, the warmth of her body pressed against his side as her arm looped casually through his, showing her silent support for he realized that she had never been far away from him throughout the whole ordeal. Bending his head for a short moment to allow her to inspect his the bruise, he then told her that they had to leave which she replied to with rather pleased vocals. Holding in the laughter at her words, the male contented himself with a sly smile, mercury depths flashing at her in a pleased, carnal way, letting her know that he fully approved of her ownership of him. They began walking out of the door and to the truck and he brought out the keys from his pocket just as she asked to be the one to drive them home. Curious facade was turned to her while brows lifted from their relaxed position and the keys were offered to her as she reached out to take them. Although she was going to drive this time, the man walked her to the drivers door and opened it for her, offering his hand to help her climb into the cab before shutting the door behind her and crossing in front of the grill of the truck in order to get into the passenger side door. The sudden roar of the engine coming alive seemed strange to him because he had no key in his hand to direct such a sound and whenever the vehicle began to move, he shifted in his seat, a little antsy at having to sit still while the damsel drove. It was a foreign concept to him for the maiden to be taking care of him. It was the man's job to take care of his woman and his family and yet the roles here had been reversed. Glancing over at Ayrn, however, Erix forced himself to relax at seeing the pleasure in her beautiful face. Regardless of what he was feeling, she was certainly enjoying the feeling of taking care of him and her pleasure was his. It thankfully did not take long to reach the hotel though throughout the majority of the journey, the man ran his fingers gently over the bruise forming under his eye and across his cheek bone, feeling like a silly girl at the urge he felt to look in the mirror at the evidence of the fight he had gotten into. Letting out an inaudible sigh, he let his hand fall to the door as the vehicle came to a stop and quickly stepped out of the cab in order to cross to her door so that he could be the perfect gentleman and open it once again for her. As his mate got out, he took her hand and lead the way to the elevator and inserted the special key that allowed them to reach their floor and pushed the button, standing calmly as the contraption (which he wolf continued to resent) shuddered to life and started to lift them towards the sky. Wrapping arms tightly around the lady's waist, he pulled her into his chest and pressed a kiss to her cheek before pulling away to gaze lovingly at her. I really enjoyed myself tonight and I'm sorry it had to be cut short. We need to find some alone time more often. Sure, they got their time together when they went to bed every night, but it was not the same. They had long since stopped going out on dates and he thought it might be a good idea if they resumed the practice. After all, he had never felt closer to her than when they had gone on those few trial dates before officially getting back together after the harsh breakup. He would make the suggestion to her later, for now they could enjoy the rest of the weekend that they had to spend together without the interruption of their normal life which involved a teenager. How they ever got where they were now, he would never be able to fully comprehend. To have a nearly grown child at their ages would have been something that he never would happen had he been told two years ago.

It always amazed her how the two of them were able to exist in such quiet peace, there was no need for him to look for her since she was right at his arm the moment that he stilled and finished talking to the bouncer that was reluctantly and surely telling him that they needed to make their way out of the place for the night. While she had been excited at the prospect of getting to dance with him and spend some alone time with him in the form of a date given that the two did not tend to go out as much as they once had she really did not mind the outcome of the evening meaning that they were going to have to retire back to the hotel sooner than expected. He glanced at her and allowed her to run her fingers along the outside of the bruise and emerald eyes were soft with concern, though she knew that he would heal easily and quickly it did not change the nature of the female and how much she really did care about him. By his expression and sly smile she could tell that he was trying his hardest not to laugh when she told him that she did not like the other girls that were looking at him in the club and she glared at him playfully. She knew better than to allow herself to be jealous though because she trusted Erixic far too much for that to come between the two of them and he made it clear that she was with him. The amusement that flashed through his eyes at the statement though did manage to cause her to smile lightly. She had really expected a little more protest from him when she asked him if she could be the one to drive them home but he just handed her the keys without even another word. The night was rather quiet with the exception of the bass of the music from the club that they had just been in for the night and it was very peaceful, there was never a time that she felt more at ease in just standing there with him knowing that all aspects of their life together were starting to fall into place. They got along so well, the two of them cherishing one anothers company, they had adjusted to a teenager being in their life and she was more than happy to be living in the same large building as her best friend and adopted brother. It had seemed like before that she needed to pick either Erix or Damien when they had moved to Hitari and she was forced to leave Damien behind and then from before when she had been living in the house far enough away that she did not get to see him all that often when she was spending all her time with her boyfriend. Now she really did have the best of both worlds though and it was impossible to tell what the future was going to bring for them but she was looking forward to it. He looked a little hesitant at allowing her to drive but this was not something that she was going to back down from as she climbed into the driver side and adjusted the seat since her legs were not quite a long as his were and pressed the key into the ignition to start it. He looked a little tense from where he was seated but it was not like it was a long drive and she was not going to make a habit out of it. She chuckled when they parked and he made his way across to where she was seated to open the door for her. Thanks. She told him before then shutting it and locking the truck and offering him the keys again. The elevator did not take long at all to reach the bottom floor where the parking garage was since the hotel was not all that busy right now and most of the guests were already in their rooms for the night or they would be back in a couple of hours when all the clubs closed for the evening. The key was pressed into the elevator allowing them to the second to last floor she leaned back against him when his arms were wrapped around her waist. She nodded when he stated that they needed to find some more time to spend alone. I agree with that, I feel like we may have neglected our own needs for the last little while with everything that was going on, I miss this Erix. She told him, they needed to find a balance between the work that the two of them were involved with, friends, Pirzi, the hotel, and all the other worries that seemed to be taking over. While it might not have been something that either of them were able to predict she did not regret a moment of it, sure it was hard to be apart from him when the two of them had broken up but it still was something that had gotten them to where they were right now, she could not be happier than that. Unlocking the door from her key chain she stepped into the darkness to flick on the lights, the place really seemed to quiet with only the two of them there which was strange because not too long ago she was used to only living alone and now she craved the company of Erix and Pirzi. Taking his hand she walked in the direction of the balcony that overlooked the city and took a seat on one of the chairs that lay there. Do you regret any of this? Wish it turned out different? She asked out of complete curiousity glancing up ar him.

Bronzed features hide within the dark, silky locks of the damsel as the male relaxed against the metal rod that wrapped around the elevator sides just below his waist level. It was not a very long wait for the contraption to rise to the specified level, but at least while they stood motionless in the car they could talk a bit and he could eagerly breathe in the scent of her skin and hair. Even though one would have thought he had enough time to smell her plenty on the dance floor, the shifter never got tired of holding her close and drinking in her sweet aroma. She rarely used perfume so what his nostrils had taken in was entirely her natural musk and to him as her mate, there was no better smell in the world. What made the smell even better was that he knew it by heart. Even if she were disguised and standing across the room from him he would know who she was and where she was. To have her smell so familiar to him was exhilarating because he knew no one else had that knowledge and it pleased the possessive side of him to know this. Chuckles emit at her response to his words, features nuzzling against her neck just as the ding of the elevator reminded them of their destination. Straightening to his full height, Erixic released his hold upon her waist to slowly move his way around to the front of her, body sliding along hers while hand reached to grasp the one hanging loosely at her side. And this Erix misses this Ayrn. Vocals teased as the bloke winked in the woman's direction while pulling her though the hallway to their door which he unlocked then stood aside so she could enter before him. I'm too busy being the responsible employee and the protective father figure that sometimes I forget my age. Stepping into the apartment, he shut the door behind him and wasted no time crowding her space, the hands upon her hips drawing her closer to him as he tilted his head to let it rest upon her hairline. Sometimes, after everything we've been through, it's hard to remember who we once were. Remember when I first kissed you? We were so different then than we are now. I miss the days when we couldn't keep our hands off each other and at the same time, I don't. I think we should have more alone time to just be as we were, but I love us the way we are. So, I hope you don't miss this Erix too much. Palm lifted to brush her hair away from the lass' face and cup her cheek. It was true; Erixic did truly enjoy the life that they had now better than he had ever thought he would. Growing up actually had not been so bad after all. Her hand reached up to grab his and the maiden then led him to the balcony, taking her seat upon a chair that she had set out on the landing before uttering her question directed towards him. Moving to stand in front of her with his hands grasping the balcony railing, he male adopted a relaxed posture with one foot crossed over the other as he gazed at his fiancé. I don't wish anything was different between us and the only regret I have is the time I lost with you. Surely you know all that. A half smile quirked up one side of male facial features at the end of his rather short response before he turned with curiosity to his lady. And you, do you regret anything between us or how our life has turned out? He thought not, but since she had asked he might as well take the opportunity to make certain. After all, helping Damien with the hotel, having Pirzi to look after, and planning for the wedding all seemed to please her as it did him, but it was hard to tell someone's heart if it was not your own even if you had known them for years.

All of a sudden it did not matter that their night had been disturbed by the fight that broke out in the bar, none of that mattered. All that was important was being close to the male that she was often overwhelmed with her feelings for. There was no one that could ever come close to making her feel the way that she felt when she was around him and she really did hope that he realized that. There was a bond between the two shifters that was something that could not tampered with since they had already gone through so much in the last couple years and they came out stronger for it, wanting to get married and continue on with theif life. If she would have been able to see into the future and saw that she was going to adopt a teenage shifter, move back into the hotel and change a lot as a person she would have told herself she was seeing into the wrong future and that it was impossible for her life to change that much in such a short span of time but it had and regardless she was ready for what it had become. She had been so hesitant when she first met Erixic but how could she not be confident when she was around him and his presence was strong and she felt as though she absorbed the strength from him, she was no longer the meek and meager being that she had been when she had met him but now she wasa business woman to be reckoned with, she now looked like the hotel owner that she should have a long time ago and she was taking on the responsibilities that she should have back when Damien convinced her that it was a worthwhile purchase to start up with the two siblings. Standing in the elevator with just him was calming and she was glad that no one else disturbed the peace, keen hearing picking up the sounds of him breathing softly against her hair, ruffling fine strands lightly and causing them to dance and tickle against the nape of her neck, a small smile crossing lips and settling there on tender tissues. Being locked in essentially a metal box with him was overwhelming to her senses and she did not even need to look in his direction to be able to feel his every move no matter how quiet and small it was, being hyper sensitive to the man and the same familiar feeling and scent that he possessed after all they were both more aware of that than anyone else would be. A wolves sense of smell was more than ten times better than that of a human and therefore the keener senses seemed to be graced over to the human form of the shifters as well, at a smaller magnitude of course. When the elevator reached the top of the building she was finding that the ride was much too short for her liking and she stepped off to then make her way to the door where his hand reached for hers and fingers immediately laced between his as the key was pressed into the door and she took a moment for keen hearing to take over and assure her that there was nothing out of place in the entire room and that things were just the way that they left them, it was just in her nature. He uttered that he was too busy being protective and a good employee to remember his age sometimes and she nodded in thought for a moment, was that what he wanted though? She had never really thought to ask him the question; if he was really happy stepping into a life that seemed so full of responsbilities now. The two had Pirzi who yes they loved dearly but at the same time she was certain that he did not picture himself as a father at this age. Nevermind one that was already a teenager and almost ready to go off to university. Something that she really did not like the sounds of, it did not matter that she had not been a 'mother' all that long she was already feeling regretful of the possibility that Pirzi was growing up way too fast for her liking. Your not an employee Erix, you are far more important to the hotel than that. She argued softly. The fitness center would not run without him, and there was no way that her fiance was just an employee in either her or Damien's eyes he was a large part of the hotel now and he was essentially family now. She did not feel as though she was being crowded at all, with his hands on her hips and his face close to hers it felt natural, this was the way that they were supposed to be. A soft subtle smile touched on her lips and cheeks reddened slightly when he asked her if she remember what it was like when he first kissed her a blatant response that she remembered every second of it. I remember. She uttered softly. And who said I could keep my hands off you now? She asked with a raise of a brow and a cheeky expression crossing her face. Things are meant to change, time changes everything and I think for us it was for the better. She stated softly glancing up and meeting steely eyes. He commented that surely that she knew that he did not regret anything but the time that he lost with her but then again that was also something that needed to happen, things all happened for a reason even if they did not understand it. He asked her if she regretted anything about the way that their life turned out and she shook her head. Never. She commented before standing again from where she was seated. I have a fiance who I am going to marry, a daughter who I am incredibly proud of, a best friend and business partner that I know I can rely on no matter what and a business to keep me busy there is nothing more I could ever hope to wish for. She really did in her mind have it all.

Eyes rolled at the female's instant jump to his defense; insisting that he was more than just a regular employee. While her confidence and concern for him was sweetly touching, he had not meant to take any importance away from his job when speaking about it. To him, the deal was straight forward: he was, for the most part, the sole operator of the fitness center within her and her brother's hotel. Although this may seem to be a designation of importance to most people, Erixic thought of it as just a job; something he did one hundred and ten percent because he would accept nothing less from himself and because he did not want to let down his beloved or her best friend who had grown to be a close friend of his own. Ayrn, I know you and Damien both appreciate me. And that you think the fitness center could not run without me there, but I am perfectly happy being 'just an employee.' For once in my life, I don't need the added responsibility of being anything more than that. I like having more free time to spend with you, Pirzi, Cairo, and the pack. With that said, the shifter took the opportunity to close the space between them; once more inserting himself into her personal bubble that he knew she did not mind him penetrating. Masculine satisfaction shone form the smile that brightened his features when the mention of so long ago caused the soft pink twinge to touch her cheekbone. Still, after all these years, beneath the strong and confident exterior his sweet little shy Ayrn remained for the most part dormant though in times such as this he liked to see that side of her poke out again; loved that remembering the way that they had come together that first night was held as close in her memory as it was in his. Chuckles escaped as the reserved misdemeanor fell away as quickly as it had picked up at her challenge of his statement. Ok, so maybe that much hasn't changed for either of us. Husky vocals whispered in a reply, his palms moving down the expanse of her back to rest a little lower than her hips as he bent slightly to land a promising kiss to her neck. Unfortunately, it was then that they broke apart and she led him out onto the balcony, leaving him to stand at the railing where he was comfortable as she sat down upon one of the chairs she had placed out there. Although the view from this side of the hotel was beautiful, especially at night, Erixic couldn't bring himself to turn his eyes away from the sight that his fiancé made simply sitting relaxed before him in order to look upon the scenery. There was nothing better for him to see. The reply that he got when he turned the question back to her was expected, but he released a soft breath that he had been unaware of holding; never the less relieved that the response he had gotten was the one that would not surprise him. After what they had been through over the past year, it was continuously amazing to him how strong her love and faith in him had remained, but it was soothing to know that regardless of how little he believed in himself at times that there was always her standing right beside him with enough determination to see him through to the end. Gaze followed the lean body's movements as the woman uncoiled from her position in the seat; greedily drinking in the sight of the long limbs as they extended to hold her weight and the soft curve to her tall stature. Suddenly itching to get them back to where they had been inside the room, the alpha let his eyes flicker up to meet hers as his signature, confident side grin slid into place upon facade. Lifting one hand from the railing against which he rested his rump, he gestured for her to come to him with laughter and a sensual promise in the mercury depths of his eyes. Distance ceased to exist when he let himself stroke her side and part of her back while head ducked to again press kissers to her long, slender neck, the thumb of his other hand, which had moved upward to clasp her collarbone gently, pushing her chin back gently to give him better access. Are you sure that's all you could hope to wish for? Vocals teased, his hot breath spilling over the sensitive tissues of her ears as his teeth carefully grazed the flesh alongside her vein. Waiting to see if she would offer any words in return first, the man took his time with his work before moving them inside, slowly working on shedding their garments as a trail was blazed for their bedroom. For once since they had gotten back together, they did not have to worry about the teenager because she was in Los Angeles and while she remained there Erixic fully intended to abuse the luxuries of living alone with his mate once more. In their bedroom, he came to her with love bursting from his heart and was reminded of their first time as they completed what could be expected actions for a night out. Lying there afterwards, he gathered her warm body to his chest and sighed a heavy, contended sigh; expelling the carbon dioxide in a loud and lazy way. Trouble took root when his mind bolted with the free space to roam and brought the man to the subject of their adoptive daughter. Feeling that familiar protective instinct flare up, he was not surprised to find a strange sort of sickness interlaced within that emotion: worry. Groaning, he turned to glare at Ayrn in a jokingly accusing way. I have you to blame for this. I'm worried about Pirzi being in Los Angeles without us like the father of a pup. You've made me grown up. Instantly upon saying this, his face went lax and he smiled at his lover, obviously happy with the outcome that had tackled him from behind when he had least expected it.

It did not matter that he only thought that he was a regular employee in his mind because he was always going to be a hell of a lot more than that to her, maybe that was all he wanted and needed from the fitness center. It was better off that way because then there were less responsibilites keeping him from returning home at the end of the night and really that was what she was interested in, she wanted him around and she wanted to spend more time with the man that she was so head over heels in love with. She had never really been that much of a believer in loving someone so fully that they made your life revolve but now that she was involved with him there was no turning back and she felt like she was a girl in high school with a pathetic crush over a boy, the most exciting factor was that he was just as into her as she was into him. Putting him in charge of the fitness center had been a great idea and one that Damien often praised her for, even when the two had been broken up he had done just as good of a job in running it and that really said something about the mans character. She nodded when he stated that he was alright with the agreement and that it was better off since he would get to spend more time with the people that mattered and she really did understand that. It had been another reason why she had given up a lot of her decision making power in the hotel, she needed time for the teenage daughter who was soon enough going to be off to college and gone in the blink of an eye. She did not want to think about that since she choked up even at the thought and she felt like she had not had enough time with the girl that she loved so dearly. It did not matter that Pirzi was not of their own blood she was so important and a key part of their life now. Since when had they grown up as much as they were right now. Three years ago she might have been hesitant or blushed when he moved closer but this time she met him halfway with a bright smile touching on the corners of her lips and emerald eyes never wavered from the steel pair that was etched into every corner of her mind for her to recall in the points where he was not around. Her own memories did not tend to do the living and breathing Erixic much justice though because there was just something in flesh that she was not able to capture and even to his day being that close to him was utterly addicting. The talk of the past did manage to caused a small reddish tinge to creep along her cheek bones though but it did not last long. There were parts of her that were still the same from that time and parts of her personality that never would fully change but then again that was just how she was and the confidence she instilled from maturing and growing while around Erixic was a lot more practical. She admitted that she was still not able to keep her hands off him and he chuckled stating that it was something that had not changed for either of them. I hope it never does. She told him with bright expression in jade colored eyes. Skin tingled beneath his touch and where his hands moved along her sides to where they rested along her hips. It was all the incentive she needed to move closer. Her mind was still on the kiss that he placed along her neck even as she led him out onto the balcony which might have been a very random turn of events in the night, it almost felt like she was just stalling the inevitable though a little bit of waiting never harmed anyone and she could almost feel the anticipation radiating off him. While it took her a little longer than most to warm up to someone there was no doubt that once they were within the inner circle of her trust that there was nothing that she would not do for them and her feelings for him had never wavered even in all that they had gone through. She could feel his eyes on her when she stood up from the chair and moved in the direction of the balcony and a small smile of a mischevious nature fell on her lips even if she was facing away from him. As soon as she met his eyes and he gestured for her to come closer to him the familiar promise of butterflies started leaping around her stomach. Biting her bottom lip when his lips touched her neck again body curved against his seeking out the sensation of being close to him. This might fit the criteria of another wish. She whispered close to his ear before being led back into the place they called their home not even pausing for long enough to shut the glass door out to their balcony. While other aspects of their relationship had previously needed work this was not one aspect that ever did. Resting lightly against his chest her eyes were allowed to flicker closed in contentment listening to the steady beat of his heart. She propped her arm up on her pillow when he rolled over and glared at her. She could not help but laugh when he told her what was bothering him. She's fine Erix. She texted me when I was in the bathroom of the restaurant and then again right before you picked that fight. She knew that she sounded so much like a mother right then and there and she felt like she might have broken the code of the two of them being out on a night out by themselves but she knew that he would be pleased to know that she was alright. She's smart. And she is not too far off from going to University and as much as I would love to convince her to attend somewhere around here I know we can't hold her back. She really did not look forward to that day. I don't know what I will do without her here living with us. I know it has not been all that long but I am so used to it. She uttered quietly. She shook her head when he told her that she made him grow up. You grew up all on your own, and you know what it makes you even more attractive than before. She told him while reaching out to brush her fingers along his jaw with a small smile.

Regardless of how many times it happened, Erixic loved how Ayrn came to him. Whether they had just gone out on a date, like tonight, or had rekindled after a fight, or he was simply in the mood, his lover never hesitated when he called her to him. Never had she once left him to his desires or sought out an excuse that could be used as an escape route from his demanding love. Proud and confident in all her beauty, the male knew he would never tire of watching as the fire that had started within him was lit within her emerald depths the moment any suggestion of them getting close, skin to skin. And afterwards, when they laid together with nothing else on their mind, the male found he never felt so peaceful or relaxed even in slumber. Thanks to his own wandering mind, however, that ease did not last so very long as the subject turned to their adoptive child. Although child really was not the correct term to describe Pirzi as she was now eighteen years old and only a year away from going out into the world on her own and attending college, the bloke could not help, but think of her in that way. To him, she was someone still too young to be leaving the nest so soon. After all, hadn't she just come to live with Ayrn? Although legally of the appropriate age to move out of her parent’s roof, the male knew the instant the subject was breached, and it probably would not be too long until it was, he would resent it. Their daughter still needed him to protect her and she was his to protect just as the pack and Ayrn were. His fears about her safety were eased a little by his mate's light laughter and reassuring response that she had spoken with P on the phone multiple times over the course of the night. Normally, his slate eyes would instantly scold her on breaking the rule of date night and calling the kids, but at this point he was just relieved to know that at least one of them had heard from the teenager and that she was not off in a ditch somewhere, dead, or kidnapped by a crazy psychopath. Still, knowing that she was in a town too far to get too quickly by running across the terrain and also knowing that she was there to see that annoyance of a boyfriend of hers kept the bloke anxious for her return home. A very loud groan escaped from his lips to overpower and drown out her words as his lover breached the exact subject he did not want to discuss. A reluctant look was flashed at her as his flopped his head towards her, hating the hopeless, dejected look on her features as she talked about the young's departure from the home they had built. From the moment he had returned to her life, it was obvious that Pirzi was very important to her. After all, the teenager had been there when he was not and the connection between mother and daughter, though they held no blood ties to one another, was stronger than most families could ask for. It was no wonder to him why his fiancé had established such a strong bond with the girl so quickly for it happened the same with him upon meeting her. She was smart, had a good head upon her shoulders and did her best to please Ayrn. Stoking her cheek gently with his curled fingers, he smiled gently at her and then rolled to his side so that he was facing her. I know, my love. It will be strange to not have her here with us, but we can't force her to remain here, as much as I would like to keep her where I can watch her. She will make her decision about where she wants to attend school, but that doesn't mean we can't try to influence her decision to remain nearby. Pausing, he flashed a bit of a sheepish grin before continuing. I'm shameless. I'd bribe her with a weekly allowance and free room and board. Got any ideas? Wiggling closer to her, an excited light brightened the steel color of his eyes as the man tried to coax his woman into plotting ways to keep their daughter with them, only half serious about really wanting to influence Pirzi too much. To him, it was entirely up to her where she went even if the thought of her leaving made him want to tie her to a chair and assign a full time three man guard to her. It would be a little of jesting fun to exchange thoughts on how to keep her nearby and he was certain the couple could enjoy it. Eyes rolled as she told him that growing up was his own doing and that it made him more attractive just before her light touch settled along his jaw line, tickling the skin there. Capturing the hand with one of his own, he brought it to his lips and kissed the smooth surface before looking her directly in her eyes. No Ayrn. I could never have become who I am today without you. You're in everything that defines me and that could never change. I don't want it to change. When I told you that I was whole only for you I meant it. No one else in this world could ever have the significance in my life that you do.

How would she ever be able to turn him down when her desire was as strong if not stronger than what he was feeling right now, she could never know for certain who's feelings were strongest but none of that really mattered because even if they were not quite even the difference was so miniscule. She knew that men had needs and she was more than happy to be the one to sate those desires even just the thought of that nearly caused her cheeks to burn and she could feel her heart starting to race in the mere anticipation of the thoughts that were in the gutter. She knew that he was thinking the same and the two of them were often in such a harmony that they really did not need to speak at all, I guess that came with living with someone for that long and being with them for so long, they seemed to have gotten the best of both worlds. The familiarity of a long term relationship as well as the spark of something that was newly started because she could never think of a time where she felt any different than utterly smitten with him. Even when she was so mad at him nothing changed at all between them and she was sure that she could have walked up to him at any point in that and felt the same chemistry between the two of them. Not needing to worry about their daughter being home made her feel as though they were teenagers again themselves sneaking away for private time and afterwards it was all she could do to keep her eyes open though her mind was still on hyper drive and she was much more interested in not falling asleep and spending the rest of the night talking to Erix. She had always thought that she might not get too attached to a child that was already a teen and already had her life going for her and figured out but she was a mess when it was involving P. She did not want the girl to move out of their home and she wanted to be able to protect her as much as Erix wanted the same, there was one thing for sure and that was the fact that P could come to them for anything at all and they would always be there no matter what and no matter what it took. She needed to know that but Ayrn was almost positive that she already understood. Even though it was only going to be a few more days that the girl was away it felt like it was centuries to her and she was convinced not to be one of those parents that was going through withdrawls and eventually hopped on a plane just to make sure she was alright. She did not trust the Revikr boy but she knew that Taelix and Jack would keep her safe at all costs so really she should not have been worrying as much as she was right now. It was just in her nature though and coming from a girl that never thought that she would ever have or want children that was quite a feat. He groaned when she brought it up but he had been the one to speak of the girl first so really he was the one that was to blame in this instance. She knew that she was being ridiculous being this emotional about it but she also knew that while he might not look like it was affecting him as much that it was and that he wanted the younger girl to stay as well and remain in the house with the two of them rather than moving out into a dorm or a place of her own. Their problems over time seemed so different from when they had first been together. Now they did not really pertain to the two of them but rather the people around them, the problems were no longer anything to do with their relationship because their strong feelings made it possible to succeed through any bumpy patches. For a second there I thought you were going to lecture me and tell me that we needed to remain indifferent but then I see your plan unfolding. She teased and the solemn expression was replaced with a subtle grin and green eyes raised to meet his as she shifted herself closer to him nestling her forehead against his chest since she was still able to pay attention and listen to what he was saying while the sound of his heartbeat calmed her significantly. She will always have free room and board if she stays with us. She uttered with a chuckle so it really was not too much of a bribe in that aspect. I'd say that I would try to give her boyfriend another chance to win us over but I just can't do that, I don't like the guy. While she did not know for sure that the two of them were back together again she really did suspect it since what other reason would she have gone to LA right when the guy was performing. Hmm. She was thinking of other options of bribing the young girl. I guess I could stick with the truth and just tell her that I would really miss her and expose how much of a wimp I am. She uttered lightly and playfully. Her expression softened with the next comment that turned them back towards the serious conversation of him growing up. A small smile never left her face when she moved up on the bed a little to rest her head on the pillow beside him so that she could rest her eyes on him without having to look upwards. We have both changed and hearing that from you means a lot to me. I never could have done a lot of the things that I have without you, including adopting a teenage shifter, so in that aspect we are even. She stated running fingers along his tricep and down his arm in light patterns.
