He knew that tonight would be horrible, he could not think of much worse then being stuck in a barn in the cold all night, though he knew that this was the appropriate way to go about it he could not leave the horse. He knew that if the owner would have been in town that he would have been the one to come out and stay but it was his responsibility now the moment the stallion entered his care this morning. Already the horse was disrupting his calm and quiet lifestyle and he realized that it had been taken for granted. After they had finished eating she announced that she needed to go work a horse in the barn for her friend and he nodded with a small smile. You know where I will be. He stated when she told him that she would see him later since he knew that it meant that he was not going to be going very far. The stallion was coming out of a sedation now and looked a little more with it and looked a little less comfortable so he made sure to keep a close eye on him when he went to the mares stall and eased the halter over her head determined to pass the time with something worthwhile, he took her to the crossties that were in front of the other horses stall and fastened her into them before taking her blankets off and grabbing the clippers that he had brought to the barn and clipping her legs once more, they were kept really short since in the winter months there was a lot of bacteria in the mud that was in the paddocks when it remained wetter and it was much easier to manage with a horse with white markings when their legs were clipped close, he also clipped the horses whiskers and started on pulling her mane when the girl came back from her work out with the young horse. She then asked if he would like to use the sleeping bag that she had out in her truck. That would be great, thanks. He told her with a small smile. He knew that tonight would be a long one and he would most likely not get too much sleep though he might as well be warm and he was not about to say no to an offer like that since he knew that he had not come to the barn very prepared, the tack room was heated and he knew that he could see the horses stall from there though in the case that something happened it was nice to have a back up plan as well. It was getting quite cold so he did not want the mare to stand without her blankets any longer since she was body clipped recently so he placed the three blankets over the horses back before then securing all the straps that were around her chest, belly and back legs before unclipping her from the cross ties and moving her in the direction of her stall before taking the halter off and walking with her to her truck to grab the sleeping bag. Thanks again. He told her before returning to the barn. It was so quiet in the barn at this time of the night and he knew that he would be the last person there. Alarm on his phone was set at one hour intervals since he was a light sleeper and he knew that if the horse started thrashing he would be able to hear him. He placed a few hay bales in the front of the stall, bunching up clean saddle pads to form a pillow and climbing into the sleeping bag. He drifted in and out of sleep realizing how much he enjoyed sleeping in his own bed checking on the horse only to realize that the worst had passed and at 5:00 when the first person started their shift he was finally free to go home, packing the sleeping bag so that it could be washed after sitting on the hay all night the person promised him that they would keep checking on the horse. That day he slept until late and awoke just in time for lunch to recieve a call from the horses owner to ask him how it was going and ask about how the horse was. He did not return to the barn until around dinner time just to check on the horses and return back home to go to bed. The next morning he was feeling a little better and headed to the barn after his morning shower, the stallion was looking a lot better and he knew that the horse would do better with a little work and some turn out for the day so he stepped into the stall narrowly missing getting bitten to slide the halter onto him and tie him to a ring that had been put in his stall making sure that it was tied to the piece of binder twine and not that actual metal to make sure that if the horse panicked that it would break before he put boots on the horses legs and stripped the blankets off him to place the saddle pad, saddle and girth on him and then the bridle and lead him in the direction of the indoor arena.

After returning the young mare to her stall for the night, she checked on her horse once more until walking to her truck to get the sleeping bag that was kept behind the back seat. No problem. Good luck. She replied with a smile. Naturally she was glad that she was not in his shoes, not that anyone wished to be in that situation. The truck's engine started with the normal quiet stutter and was soon driving down the road. Now she was actually considering selling the old Ford in order to buy a car that was more fuel efficient and up to date; not in need of a tune up every few months. She'd had offers on the old vehicle just because of its year so it would not be difficult to get rid of. After returning home she took a long shower since she now smelt like horse and had to wake up early for work. The alarm clock started going off far too early for her liking, it was a day in which she felt like sleeping in but was obliged to go to the clinic anyhow. On an average day it did not really bother her, it was just the morning drowsiness speaking its mind. A small pot of coffee was fixed before she got herself ready. Soon enough, she pulled on the green scrubs and brushed her mocha locks before neatly pulling them up into a ponytail. Package of hot chocolate was mixed partially with coffee and the other part water in order to make herself a mocha which was no where close to the way coffee stands were able to make them. She was plenty awake by the time she drove her truck to the clinic though and was quickly busy since there was a large farm call. The girl was personally done with needles after vaccinating several horses and doing regular check ups, but that was just the beginning of her day. Numerous mares were brought to the clinic to be ultra sounded as well as a few horses in need of their teeth floated. The rest of the day followed out in a blur with no major events, which was a good thing. Despite signing up to go through veterinary school and going forth to be a vet. tech, she did not enjoy the injuries of animals; it was helping them that she made into a career for a reason. To her it was considered a good day, a bit busier than normal but that was fine. It was nice to be kept on her feet and the next two days she could spend her time however she wanted. A yawn pushed through the girl's jaws as she headed out the door past six which was unusual for her average early shift. She only made a quick trip to the barn to visit with her horse for a few moments as well as slip the gelding a few treats. The animal was quite gracious of the attention, having been a pocket-pony from the beginning. The day finished uneventfully and she was quite relieved to be off her feet and surrender to the sanctuary of her bed. A deep slumber took over her quickly and she was disturbed by sunlight shimmering through the shutters around ten. Sometimes it was nice to catch up on sleep. As she stretched, the large mutt rolled off the bed before finally waking up from his own dreams. Rufus looked rather baffled as he woke up, causing a small laugh to come from her before getting out of bed. A shower was the first thing on her agenda since she had retired to rest before doing so last night. The warm water woke her up further and she dressed in a pair of acceptable jeans and a t-shirt, slipping a hooded sweatshirt over the top. Her canine companion started bouncing around towards the door so she automatically gave in to take the dog for a quick jog which she ended up enjoying too. After appeasing his energy, they walked the remainder of the block back to the house and she grabbed her purse on her way back out the door. Destination was the country store to buy another container of joint supplements for the horse but she could not help but ignore a piece of tack that caught her eye. She escaped from the store by paying a few more dollars than anticipated but had still managed to come out with simply two items. Next stop scheduled was for the barn, a change of riding clothes already in her truck at all times. First the supplements were placed in the feed room and labeled, followed by hanging the new blue english baby pad on her rack. It had not been a necessity, but she was not found of the pink one she was currently borrowing. After changing, soft vocals called to the gelding before slipping into his stall and easing the worn leather halter over his head. Maverick was tied at the cross ties, several different brushes easing over his hide after the blanket had been removed. She was personally glad to see the occasional bunch of hair slide from his coat, reminding once more the change of seasons that would come in the future. Quiet hum was murmured to the equine who relaxed at the familiar voice. Stepping once more into the tack room, she decided to be adventurous and practice with riding english once more. You never learned if you didn't keep trying. Now, she was gaining interest in the matter, considering on how the horse would work with it. And depending on the level she developed, maybe she would look into another horse in the future. Now that was just a thought in the back of her head though. Saddle and pads were placed along the horse's back and the girth was tightened adequately but she figured would need a bit more tightening once on the horse, since then she would have better leverage. Blue sports boots were placed on the horse's forelegs as well as a pair of bell boots around his pasterns. Each of his front feet were gently stretched so the muscles would be less likely to get tweaked. The bridle with the snaffle was slipped onto the gelding's head, checking the cavason once more even though she figured no one else had used the equipment besides her recently. The arena gate was gently shut behind her as they stepped into the indoor arena. Use of the mounting block was greatly appreciated as the saddle was a bit loose as anticipated and slipped around a little. Adjusting herself in the saddle, she carefully tightened the girth a few more holes but left a few fingers of air as well. An extension to the walk was what she asked the gelding initially, adjusting his head set slowly until he got to the proper position and had release of the pressure. Calf pressure was eased against the horse's stomach until he switched into a nice, extended trot which she started posting to without watching his shoulder. Only a few glances were taken to check herself but after that she grew pretty confident in her ability.

The large grey stallion was not looking like his normal self he was a little more placid as he tagged along at the side of the man, a careful and wary eye was kept on the animal knowing that he would take any excuse he was given in order to take the upperhand, with the horse it would be always be a power struggle to see who just was the boss. When he entered the ring the horse spotted the other animal in the ring and pricked up, neck arching as steps were lighter and barely seeming to touch the ground. He realized that if he was ever able to harness this unruly energy that this horse would be a force to be reckoned with. A small smile was offered to the girl as she passed by him. She was using an English saddle which broadened his smile a little since she seemed content to try to practise what they had gone over the other day. The horse took this opportunity when he thought that Enzo was not watching to try to grab at the tender flesh behind the mans elbow and a sharp jab from the moving joint caught him in the cheek bone bringing an indignant look to the horses face and a small snort that echoed through the entire horses body. A sly smile was shot in the stallions face before easing him up to the mounting block and telling him to halt, he knew that the moment that he would get to the top of the mounting block that the horse was going to move away since he was such a pig. Taking the opportunity when the horses mind was on getting away from the mounting block he seized the chance to do the girth up tighter since the horse had bloated when he had put the saddle on to begin with. It was amazing how many bad habits a young horse like this could learn in the span of what he thought not to be much more then six months. Eyes were rolled as as soon as he was on the top step of the mounting block the horse shifted to where he thought that Enzo would not be able to get on him. Stretching and defiantly not allowing the horse to get away with it he hopped easily onto the horses back and instantly feet found their way to the stirrups and a nudge of his heels sent the horse immediately into a trot, the whip that he always carried on young horses was flipped upwards so that it was pointing towards the horses ears since it was a hazard if the horse decided to rear. Patting the horse on the neck as he instantly got to work and soon his back relaxed to a state that he was not rounding it and feeling as though he was going to buck. He then allowed the horse to slow to a walk around the arena. He allowed the horse to walk up beside her and the other horse before speaking. Hey, how are you? He asked. The stallion was far enough away that he would not be a danger to the other animal though it was now that he spotted the other horse and took an instant dislike to him and emitted a squeal and struck out with his front leg. A low growl was emitted before a swift kick to the ribs sent the horse leaping into a canter, pressing him into a frame and forcing him to behave.

Both she and the horse seemed to be in a rather good mood for the day, he was acting a bit more willing to the new switch in riding styles. Pressure was pressed on the inside rein gently to get him flexing towards the center of the arena and pushing his body along the rail. She could feel she was working different muscles while posting and was aware that it would be a matter of time until she would not be sore afterwards. After doing a few laps each way, she brought the gelding down to a walk. Hand ran over his neck in praise for his behavior while letting him get a bit of rest at a slower gait. Maybe they would catch onto this quicker than she thought. She didn't need to be perfect anyway, not at the moment. Her goal was to enjoy herself and try something different. And in time maybe they would play around on some small jumps to attempt that as well. Seeing that someone had tried to set up cavalettis she thought the idea to be a good one for now and dismounted the horse. Steps were taken in between each of the poles in order to measure them in comparison to the horse's strides before stepping up on the mounting block and lightly sitting upon the animal's back.Once more he was urged into an expulsive trot which he soon picked up after tossing his head and that being the extent of his hissy fit. Circling him back before adjusting him to be lined up straight for the cavalettis, a little more light pressure was gradually adjusted into his sides. She grimaced as the horse clunked his way over the poles the first few times, not seeming to mind as he knocked each of his feet upon them initially. After a couple more go's, he gradually figured out the conception of keeping his strides steady in comparison to the spacing rather than be lazy and knocking every single one by doing so. Soft sigh of satisfaction sounded as she slowed the horse to a walk and started running her hand along his neck in praise. Seeing as he was listening and responding quite nicely, she decided he would not have a really long work out for the day as a bit of a bonus for his behavior. Gaze glanced over to notice another rider joining her in the arena, small smile being returned to the familiar male as she continued to work the horse on a few different basic things. While cooling the gelding down for a few laps, she heard the muffled hoof beats of the other duo before they approached as well. Friendly smile crossed over her expression once more. I'm pretty well, as for yourself? She asked in polite tones. The grey stallion looked back to his normal self, well a little calmer maybe at the moment. Her own mount had a dull interest in the new horse, he was just ready to go back to his stall to eat or sleep. In a sudden movement, the other equine decided to show his disapproval to her own horse by striking out which caused Maverick to show off what a coward he actually was. The horse moved sideways towards the wall in a quick moment, the girl slightly losing her balance before having her outside leg squeezed against the wall. It was nothing major, but still caused a choice word to be muttered under her breath as she moved the horse away from the wall. There would be a nice bruise on her leg soon enough but those went away so it was not a big deal at all. Her horse had just decided to zone out and thus be spooked by the other horse's actions, not helping that he was always the bottom of the pecking order. Although she was very glad that the horse had not reacted by fighting like some horses might have since that would put them both in a worse situation. She requested for the animal to walk about until his nerves were settled, then sliding down carefully and rubbing his neck. You're a coward. She stated with a small laugh to the horse before petting his head. Exiting the arena, she stayed on the outside for a few moments, watching the others with interest. Smile crossed kissers as he came by, commenting teasingly. Glad to see he's back to himself and feeling good at least. But of course, that was not the way Enzo would want him to act. It was just a sign that the colic was most likely not bothering him any more now.

The stallion was a handful though he felt as though he was slightly safer on the animals back then leading him around, he was still being rideen in draw reins though they were lose and just in case he decided to do something really shitty but so far he seemed to be well behaved under saddle which was strange for a horse that was so foul on the ground, the only times he seemed to take advantage were the times here he did not have his mind on something and where he was just walking, though soon he would realize that it was not something he would be able to get away with. He knew that he was going to have to work the horse quite hard to make sure that the animal stayed quiet enough while settling in to the new barn. He paid a little more attention to the girl as they walked beside the good natured gelding and he spoke asking her how she was and she replied telling him that she was well and asking about him, but that was when the horse struck out and got a sharp kick in the gut before forcing him into a working trot which made him grind his teeth on the bit though that made him reply by only adding more leg to the piggish animals sides with a low growl that caused the horses ears to prick back to him and maybe consider taking him seriously. Sorry. He uttered softly to the girl before then turning back to her as they passed her once more and the stallion did not take the time to even put on foot wrong. He's definately feeling good, though he needs to learn to get over himself. He commented. It would only take time though and he knew that he would never really truly trust the horse since he was a stallion after all and he had a history of being hard to deal with now so it would be able to flare back up under any sort of circumstances and those were the times that people got hurt is when they thought that an animal would never hurt them and while it might not be intentional in the end they are 1200 pounds to a humans 100-200. The man rode the horse in a very secure position with his heels down and lower leg pressed tightly against the horse, sitting back in the saddle perhaps a little farther then ideal though for a young horse like this one it was perfect. Outside leg was pressed back and the animal jumped into a large and swoopy canter that seemed to get across the arena in no more then three strides. Flexing to the inside the horse was working properly and light, after cantering across the diagonal and changing leads and a few more laps at the canter he did not want to push it and decided the horse was done for the evening. He stepped off the animals back. So how would I go about convincing you to go out on a date with me? He asked the girl with a small smile, he was blatant though he was sure that many people would be happy that he was so out there and truthful. It was true he did develop a certain attraction to the girl over the time that they had spent together and he was ready to attempt another date, start out just casual and see how it went from there, though he was not too sure if she was even going to say yes.

Quiet, reassuring words were spoken to her own horse as he had gotten overly frightened by the small mishap. After a bit of encouragement he was quick to settle back down though, the weather causing his attitude to be altered in comparison to how he was in the middle of riding season. It's alright. She replied to his apology, she knew the stallion's personality and that he was quite unpredictable as it was. She then focused on calming down her own horse as it had not take him much to get frazzled today. Kambree was careful not to lose her patience with him of course seeing as she learned to have the virtue of patience every day at work. It was a very necessary quality for the vocation she planned on going through with completely. After hearing him state something about Perseus needing to get over himself, she nodded in return. If he was allowed to continue to sour to even a worse temperament, he would only become more dangerous to those around him, yet she knew he was not too far gone and plenty fixable. Many times had she witnessed horses that had gone passed a point of no return which often resulted in the animal being put to sleep. Thought was quickly pushed aside, not being one to dwell on such depressing stories that could be avoided in the majority of the cases. Maverick calmed down from his jittery state after walking around and then she deemed his workout for the day to be good for now due to good behavior. Hand skimmed over the equine's coat after dismounting and leading him outside the arena. Though she remained outside the gate for several moments to watch Enzo work the stallion to help herself try to pick up on a few things maybe. Soon she regretted watching the duo, despite the fact that the horse was a few years younger than her own he had much more finesse to the action. But she reminded herself that it was in his bloodlines where Maverick was a simple, grade horse. And she had to work on her own riding equitation and experience before even really thinking about getting serious. Then again, there was a good chance she wouldn't be able to find the time with her future occupation. The goal for now was to learn and have fun, maybe later she would get her feet wet and just keep an eye on what was out there. Arms were propped across the gate and this time her companion relaxed a foot away from her, content with resting for the time being. As he dismounted the horse, she stepped away from the gate and partially turned towards the aisle way only to pause to catch what he was saying. It took her a moment to process the words since they had caught her off guard. Smile overlapped her lips as she faced his direction and stopped herself for a moment. Her last date had been a few months ago before working with the clinic and had not gone over well so she just had put the idea aside. She kept herself busy with work as well as her horse, even though she worked more often than they requested for her to a lot of the time. She deserved some time to go out and enjoy herself. I'm not against simply being asked. But if you think convincing me is a good idea, feel free to do so. Answer was left at that, causing an arch in one of her slender brows as she waited a moment before continuing to walk back to the cross ties. Bridle was replaced by the leather halter and clipped back into the ties. The girth was readjusted to where it had been prior to being set up for her horse, just in case the person she was borrowing it from decided to actually come out and ride. After she had returning the tack to its original place, different brushes ran over the horse's coat before replacing the blanket and adjusting the straps appropriately. One last trip back and forth to the tack room and she returned with a small hand full of treats for the horse as a reward.

The stallion seemed to take him a little more serious when he started to understand that he was not going to get away with anything and that Enzo was not going togive up. A form of tough love that in the end was not all that tough, he was a tricky horse to work with since you always had to be 100% paying attention or it might end in disaster and you had to be firm with the animal without losing your patience. Enzo was lucky that he was born with infinite patience for animals, though when it came to fellow humans, that was another story. He felt bad that the horse he was riding had intimidated her horse in the arena though he apologized and there was nothing more to do, he continued on until the horse was calm and quiet and in work mode responding to every little cue that he was given like an obediant animal. The horses jaw was flexed slightly to the inside while his topline remained perfectly straight as the stallion balanced on the rein he was given and although he was young he was well enough balanced to remain fairly light in the bridle and off his forehand, rounding his haunches and tucking his hind legs beneath himself. Without tension along the entire horses body he asked the horse to walk which he did demonstrating long and fluid strides at a march with his hind legs engaged, after outside leg was pressed just behind the girth and the horse bounced easily into canter on the correct lead did he deem it to be enough and after the march of the walk was engaged he allowed the reins to loosen a little and the horse to stretch out a little more as he walked. After a few moments of walk he felt as though the horse was going to misbehave and since he had been so good he hopped off the horses back and took the reins over his head, he did not want to start a fight with the horse when they had come this far already today, the horse remained relaxed as he walked him for another moment around the ring to ensure that he was cool to the touch and would not be too warm to bring back to his stall and untack since he did not dare to use the cross ties as of yet, that would be another day of training in the future when he got to know the horse a little better. As of right now tacking up in his stall was good and useful enough. The girl and the other horse had been long since gone when he walked the stallion out of the arena and in the direction of the stall which happened to be quite close to the cross ties where after taking the horses saddle and bridle off and leaving the horse to stand in the stall for a moment he asked her what it would take for her to agree to go on a date with him, for the male this was brave venture that did not happen ofte and it had taken a lot of time with him convincing himself that even asking her was a good idea considering it had been a long while since he had even been out on a date. She told him that the best way would be to just ask her and small smile appeared on handsome features. Well then, would you care to join me for dinner tonight? He asked.

As the saddle was lifted from the horse's back, she then began to notice the hair that had quickly started to stick to the once clean blanket and small smile played across the girl's kissers. Finally the signs of spring were becoming visible and the snow would begin to dissipate with the warming weather. Shedding blade ran over the horse's hide in long strokes before switching to a curry comb and at last a softer bristled brush. Thankfully he was not shedding too much because otherwise she would have had another sweater on on top of the one that was already keeping her body temperature warm. The winter blanket was replaced over the equine's large frame and the straps secured individually and tightened where necessary. Attention had quickly changed to where the male was situated once he began to speak but she could not suppress the smile that crept upon her features after hearing his exact words. No doubt had the words caught her off guard but yet it was sort of a nice surprise when it got down to it. She hesitated a moment to decide on how to word her response, then walking her horse down the aisle way to return him to the stall. The horse's muzzle nudged at her pocket which she made him wait before giving him a few treats. After a few moments of petting along the animal's neck, she stepped out of the stall and back into the aisle way. Once more, mocha depths gazed in the man's directions only to hear him ask the question directly now. Tonight? She inquired to make sure she heard him correctly and then to think over if she had anything that had to be done and could not be put off until the next day. She came up with nothing and smile adorned features once again. I'd love to. Lyrics stated gently. It had been a couple of months since she had attempted a date herself, well the help of one of her friends had caused her to kind of push the thought aside. Needless to say, she never even let the idea of saying "yes" to a blind date come to her mind. Last time it had been so horrid that she had actually planned an escape route if necessary which resulted in her climbing out any window she could find that was not obvious. Kambree had never been really difficult to get along with and was generally very out going and courteous, the guy she had been matched up with had managed to bore her to tears with all his rambling nonsense and practically cutting her off whenever she wanted to voice her opinion on some matter or another. And everything about him was basically rude which was also a personal peeve of hers. She quickly let the memory slip from her mind since she did not want to make herself reconsider the idea. Enzo appeared to be more of a gentleman and she had come to like him from their previous encounters so therefore she thought it was highly unlikely for a dinner with him to be anywhere near as disastrous as the last. Just call me if anything comes up. She told him after giving him her cell phone number and finding out what time he was going to meet her. A while later she bid him good bye and glanced over to her horse one more time on her way out to the old truck. The beast of a vehicle started with a sputtering rumble but after had no issues on the way to her home. Rufus was eager to greet her at the door before bounding outside into the backyard. She referred to him as her security system since the large dog could sound quite intimidating whenever someone was near the house. Several chores around the house needed to be done in her open so she shifted through the notions of cleaning up things here and there as well as changing loads of laundry. With more than an hour before she was supposed to suspect him, she took a long shower before changing into the simple black halter top style dress that she liked for special occasions. The dress fit to her slender frame perfectly and was not too short or too formal so it was fitting for a dinner such as tonight. Light layer of mascara covered lashes, adding a bit of additional make up as well yet keeping it very minimal. Gentle waves swept through dark mahogany locks, in a way that she preferred. Once she had deemed herself appropriately ready, she let the canine back in and settled down to flip through a magazine to pass the time since she was ready a few minutes early.

It had been a long while since he had been out on a date so he wondered why he felt the need to ask this girl. He had been so hurt by his formal girlfriend of three years that he just focused on nothing but work and the horses and seemed perfectly content with that until now. There was something about her that struck him and caused him to think that a date would not be the worst thing in the world and the more that he thought about it he found a small strike of nervousness settle in the pitt of his stomach as he moved his own mare into the crossties by the gelding and waited for her to answer and she uttered that she would love to go out tonight with him. A charming smile then crossed masculine features. Perhaps a reason that he thought this would not end badly was because she was so involved with horses the same as he was. It was even also her job so therefore he had a huge respect for her. Someone that was as passionate about the animals as he was was rare and he realized that. Back straps of the blanket were undone and left to hang at the horses back legs while he then moved to the side to undo the belly straps and turn in her direction. I will pick you up at 7:30? That would give him enough time to finish up here and make more of a plan then what he had running through his mind and get changed. The blanket was then slipped over the mares head and he marvelled at how nice the horse was as she stood there calmly allowing him to do whatever he wanted with her without him having to watch to make sure that at the moment that he turned his back that she was going to take a chunk out of him like the talented stallion that now stood down the hallway. He ran a quick brush over her though she was not really dirty enough to spend much time on since she had been wearing her blanket and she was much of a princess and did not like to get dirty. He wrapped all four of the horses legs before then placing a lunging cavesson and bridle on her before attaching the side reins loosely to the side. It had been a long time since he had lunged the mare so it would be perfect and allow her to get a few of the bucks that she was too well behaved to do under saddle out. He waved when she said her good byes to him before heading out of the barn and he lead the mare into the indoor and allowed her a few circles to roll her back and contort her body and throw a couple athletic bucks before the side reins were attached and she was sent into a working trot. As she settled right into work he pulled out his phone from his pocket and set to search for the restaurant that he planned to call and found it on the internet before typing the number in to call and making a reservation for two at eight that night, since it would take them about half an hour to get there before then putting the rest of his attention on the horse at the end of the lunge line. He did not even bother to allow her to canter since it was just a fitness ride and then he walked the mare from the ring when he deemed her to be finished before then throwing the tack on the ground and placing her blankets over her and doing them up before then being done and out of the barn within another 45 minutes. After putting the horse in the stall he then put the rest of his stuff away and checked on both of the horses as well as Kambree's gelding before then heading out to his truck. She had given him her number in case something came up, though he promised himself that nothing would, he deserved a night like this. He arrived home with plenty of time and he stepped into the shower first thing to make sure that he did not smell like horses before then drying his hair and picking out what would be suitable to wear for the night settling for a white button up shirt and grey tie along with his dress pants and dress shoes. It had been awhile since he had gotten dressed up since there had been a lot of office work in his work recently so he almost had to dust off his dress shoes. By the time that seven rolled around he was ready and in his truck headed to the adress that she had given him with him arriving at her doorstep right at seven thirty when he told her that he was going to be there and he raised a hand to knock on the door. A small smile was uttered when she answered. Hey. He stated politely before then waiting for her to lock the door of her house and follow him down to the truck, opening the passengers side door for her before climbing into the drivers side. So how was the rest of your afternoon? He asked politely pulling the seatbelt over his lap. The large truck started with a trusty rumble before he backed it from the driveway he had learnt to drive on such large trucks and to him they were a lot easier to drive and he was able to park them and back them out of anywhere since a lot of the stables in Germany had a lot narrower of driveways which seemed a little silly. Getting out onto the main road he turned in the direction that would lead them back to town. The girl looked stunning since it was the first time he had seen her without his barn clothes, her hair was down and fell in glossy strands, eyes were adorned by the right amount of makeup and dress accented her body perfectly. He had to swallow before then looking back at her. Do you like Greek food? The place that they were going was a Greek style restaurant but they also had just normal food on the menu that could be ordered without the Greek spices though it was by far the best restaurant in town by his mind. They pulled up outside of the building that had a large silver scroll writing Galini on it. He stepped out of the truck before then going to her door and offering a hand to help her down since it was a long way in a dress. The restaurant made a good impression it was quite dark but lit with candles and the hostess helped them immediately taking Enzo's name and leading them in a direction to a table.

Kambree had never considered herself to be high maintenance and was quite self sufficient so therefore not being in a relationship never really bothered her. Sure, she'd experienced such things before but she was not going to die without one. And then after the last failed attempt, she was completely fine with setting her focus elsewhere. Previously she'd been juggling her schooling program as well so therefore had not quite had the time yet now she did but just let the idea slide. When he stated he would pick her up at seven thirty, she had every intent of being ready at least ten minutes prior to such time. She was not afraid to get dirty and then she was not naive when it came to getting dressed up to go out. Various chores throughout the house kept her busy for a few hours especially since she decided to do a bit of rearranging in her painting room. A client had insisted on her painting one of their recently passed horses for money which was the only reason why the girl had tried to do it without pay. It seemed odd to be doing something she did in her free time and getting paid for it for some strange reason. That project would be undertaken soon but there really was no rush on it since it was a medium sized canvas that would not take her any time. Long shower got rid of the smell of horses that followed whoever took a step inside it seemed, not that it bothered her, mostly it was nice to actually smell refreshing in public rather than like a barn. She took several minutes to thumb through the multiple hangers to discover the dress she was searching for. Her hair took the longest naturally since she was indecisive about what exactly to do with it. She decided to keep it simple and left the loose waves to cascade near her shoulders. She had not sat very long to skim through the magazine when she heard the knock at the door. Small purse was grabbed and the string was wrapped around her wrist as she answered the door. Hi. She greeted in response as she stepped outside of the house and locked the door. Pace matched his on the way to the truck, murmuring a quiet thanks as the door was opened for her. That did not seem very common any more when it came to most guys so it instantly set him apart practically. She was careful to climb into the truck but managed to do so on the first try. Seatbelt was pulled over her body as the truck's engine revolutionized. Attention focused on Enzo as he inquired about the remainder of her afternoon. Uneventful, but good, thank you. As for your own? She returned with a pleasant smile. Her main goal was of course to enjoy herself for a night out. She could still not help herself from being slightly nervous though. Every other time, she had been completely at ease within the man's presence but for some reason now she was not so. It was not like she could not handle dinner with him.All along, she had recognized the man to be quite stunning of course and now he looked quite ravishing in the formal attire which was quite the contrast to his riding clothes. She had a feeling things would be fine and repeated that to herself over and over until she finally calmed down. The luxurious truck pulled into a restaurant she'd heard of but never been able to try yet. Yes, I do actually. She replied with a small smile. She was grateful of his help upon getting out of the truck since it was not the easiest task she'd accomplished before. Thanks. She uttered to him as they stepped towards the restaurant. They were lead to table and eyes took a minute to adjust to the dim lighting and she found the atmosphere to be sophisticated in a way yet not exactly if that made any sense. Seat was taken across from the male and eyes briefly scanned over the menu to find the waitress requesting their beverage order. I'd like an ice water with lemon, please. She requested politely. After he had ordered his drink and the waitress left, she glanced over to him a bit hesitantly. Do you have any suggestions? I'm completely illiterate when it comes to foreign food.

It was a completely different feel for him tonight. Before they had been talking and discussing horses in a place that had been neutral territory for them both neither had to put any effort forth and both were only there in the end to see their horses. Now it was obvious that he had more interest in her then just being friends since he had asked her out on a date so therefore it would elevate the status a little. Something that he did not mind though, he would rather that she realized that he appreciated that he was almost positive that there was going to be something good between the two of them. Had he thought it might not work out he never would have asked her out since he was the type to shy away from heart break and anything complicated. That was something that he loved about horses unlike the women that he had dated before they did not play mind games with him. They strived to perform in the manner in which he asked and understood when they were praised. He had to keep reminding himself though that he was positive that Kambree was different from the women that he had dated before, she was independent already through school and sure of what she was going to be doing for the rest of her life when a lot of the women he had dated were just floating on the cusp looking for men to take care of them and be the one to provide in the relationship and for that reason it seemed as though a lot of them were wanting to look for someone to settle down with right away. He did not agree with that since he believed that a woman should before they decide to be involved with someone have a life separate from dating, understand what their goals in life are and strive towards them. As he arrived at the girls door he was even more nervous walking up the steps of her driveway, she did not know it but she intimidated him, it was rare to see a girl as ambitious and independent as herself. She was not the type that even needed a man in her life, there were not many girls like that left in the world anymore that was for sure. He knocked on the door before then stepping back and waiting for her to answer, when she did she looked stunning, a dress adorned features that were usually wearing riding clothes when he saw her. Eyes widened slightly though he tried to keep his gawking to a minimum, she appeared to be completely ready to go, another good sign, he hated telling someone one time that he was going to be there and getting there for them not to be ready especially a lot of the time when he had made reservations and looked like an idiot when arriving there late. She locked the door to her house and they made their way to the truck where he opened the door for her and then moved to the other side to climb into the drivers seat, he wished that he had a car since it was not appropriate for a lady to have to climb into the large truck on a date in nice clothing. He simply did not have the need for a car though. When he asked her how the rest of her afternoon had been she replied telling him that it had been uneventful but good and asked him about his. Just about the same which was nice. The engine rumbled to life and soon they were on their way to the restaurant and parking in a parking lot just outside the large building. As soon as he got out from the car he moved to her side to help her down from the truck and she murmured a thank you that was acknowledged with a small smile. No problem. He stated quietly before then walking at her side in the direction of the front of the restaurant. The hostess asked for his name and nodded when he spoke his last name before then leading them in a direction of a booth against the back wall, there were dim lights though it was quite dark in the restaurant he had chosen here since it had a nice atmosphere as well as he knew that people did not tend to take their screaming children into a restaurant as nice as this one and when he had eaten here before they had amazing food. Good memories came attached to this place since this was here him and the owner of the horses that he worked with had met to discuss the plans for the grey mare that he had sold before he knew Kambree. He slid into the booth across from her. He was glad that when he asked if she liked Greek food she had said yes because he realized now that he had did not have a backup plan for if she would have said no. As she sat before him she looked like she was right in her element, classy and elegant, nothing like the girl he saw at the barn who was ruggedly independent and not afraid to get her hands dirty if it involved the welfare of a horse. As menu was opened his hands were folded politely in his lap before eyes then scanned the menu, he had already decided what he was going to eat but he simply had not remembered the name. After they placed their drink orders she asked him his input of what she should order. Well I have only been here twice and I ordered the rice bowl the first time and the chicken souvlaki the second time and both were amazing but I usually have a hard time deciding because everything sounds good. He said with a small chuckle. Their drinks came in the next few moments and he moved his napkin to his lap before pulling the glass clinking with ice cubes towards him and taking a sip of the refreshingly bubbly soda. He waited until she looked as though she had decided before then to speak with her in the time that they were waiting for the waitress to come back to their table. So I was talking to the owner of the stallion and he mentioned that not too far from here there was a good place to trailer to for a trail ride, I was wondering if you would be interested in coming with me one afternoon. He asked but then fell silent when the waitress appeared and asked if she could take their orders. I will have the chicken souvlaki please.

Even at a young age, the girl had always been determined to make her own decisions. She always strived to do her best when it came to any obstacle she faced and remained optimistic when possible. All along, she'd been raised to work hard for something she wanted and in the end it generally paid off. Personally, she gave a lot of the credit of who she was today to her parents as she had learned many things from their mistakes as well as from the teachings of her grandfather. At one point in her life, she had not even considered the idea of working as a veterinarian; she had the desire to be an artist. However, this dream really was not encouraged since her parents did not believe it would ever work out in the end. Sure she displayed artistic talent from the beginning but the odds of making it into a career appeared to be minimal. But that did not stop the idea from forming in the young girl's mind and it was only later when she realized her love for horses and the desire to help them that she settled her mind. It took a few years for her to mature about the matter of things that came along with the duty of nursing equines back to health but now she rarely squirmed at the sight of blood and deep wounds. She had grown used to such visuals and now prided in working to help the horses heal from them. For her it was a great bonus to enjoy the work she did and get paid for it as well. She thrived on making an effort to keep herself on the right track and still be able to enjoy life. More recently she had taken her work more seriously than necessary and balanced her time basically strictly between that and her horse as well as painting every now and then. At least she was spending time doing the things she loved most. So it made perfect sense to her. And now she realized how much she deserved a night out like this. She hadn't really let herself go out to enjoy herself in a while so why not enjoy a nice dinner with the man whose company she enjoyed. Seeing as it had been a while since she had really gotten dressed up as she was now, there was a bit of nervousness that was building up slowly. If things didn't work out, they didn't work out. It was not as if her entire life depended on this night, it was just a chance to have fun and discover more about Enzo. Kambree was careful not to rush to the door nor take to long before answering it just out of being polite, she did not want to come off as being over eager or of course careless upon the matter. Strides matched his as they walked to his truck which was a lot more spectacular in comparison to her own, but of course that was not frowned upon. Her taste had turned a little outdated somewhat but she planned on trading it in soon. He opened the door for her which was something that was unheard of in today's society a lot of the time. She had always wondered what had happened to the idea of men being gentlemen. Climbing into the truck was not the easiest thing she'd done but she was not bothered by having to do so. He answered that his afternoon was nearly the same as hers and she nodded in response. The quiet in the short car ride did not bother her at all since it was not awkward silence or near the like. She said a quiet thank you to him as he helped her down from the truck and was quite glad she was not ungraceful as she stepped down into the parking lot. The sign of the restaurant was familiar to her yet she'd never had the chance to try it before which now she was going to get to. Even though he probably did not realize it, she was very thankful that he had taken the time to make reservations as where she had experienced going to one restaurant and having to change plans just because of someone's carelessness. The aromas that drifted through the restaurant smelled delightful as they were brought to a small table in the corner. Eyesight quickly adjusted to the dim lighting which she did not at all find to be uncomfortable. She settled in the booth and placed the beverage order when the waitress came over to request of it. She looked over the menu briefly and decided she had no idea what to order before asking for his suggestion. Smile adorned her features with a small nod as she acknowledged his statements with a gentle laugh. She was not overly picky and decided to go along with the rice bowl as he had suggested. Brown depths glanced up to meet his gaze as she thought he was going to speak. That sounds fun, it would be nice to find somewhere new to go. I think that could be arranged. She stated in turn with a light smile and took a moment to focus her attention on the waitress to place her order. She ordered the rice bowl and then took a small drink of her ice water before sitting back with the napkin folded over her lap. Is it common for you to ask all the girls you give lessons to on a date? Playful glimmer sparked in her eyes as she asked the question in a gentle teasing manner.

The talk between them seemed to be effortless. They seemed to be able to talk not only about horses without even giving too much thought about it. As for his dreams he always seemed to dream about being a trainer and having an abundant amount of nice horses in a barn that he was in charge of. But that was no reality since anyone in the horse business will tell you that there is rarely money to be made in the horse business and certainly not enough to support the habit in which he was involved. In school he had always been good at math and figuring things out, so that was what lead him to realize that he would want to pursue a career in engineering. So far so good, everything seemed to be working out for him, he enjoyed the job and it did help that the money was good and would be able to support his horse and horse shows and so far he was more successful than people of his age. He also had a client that would continue to bring him nice horses to train and sell so he would be also doing that on the side. Right now he was on top of the world, breaking his wrist and the hardware they had put in to replace the shattered bone had only been a minor setback when he had been told that it was going to be the end of his career as a rider. So getting through that had been a refreshing experience as well and now he was here on a date with a girl that shared his passion for horses and seemed to get along so well with him and he was enjoying himself not resorting to haunting nightmares that his ex-had instilled in the back of his mind that seemed to be present at all time waiting to jump to the surface. The restaurant proved to be a good choice since she seemed happy to be here and the atmosphere was relaxed and romantic. When they sat down to the table she made an order for her drink and soon enough the waitress came back with their drinks to then take their orders and she placed the glasses in front of them. When he mentioned about the trail ride she seemed to be as excited as he was about it so he knew that it would be a good idea and he would make the plans to go within the next week when they both had an afternoon off. After they had ordered and their menus were taken back from the table she then shot him a cheeky look that he did not recognize. Asking him if he asked all girls that he taught lessons to out on a date. He chuckled. Well I like to think about this as being an isolated case. He told her with a wink, before long their food was brought to the table and it smelled delicious. The food was steaming and hot and not with the smell of being microwaved like a lot of the restaurants did, this had been prepared when they had placed the order. The chicken was marinated in a delectable sauce with the traditional Greek spices and tasted amazing. They grew silent as the food arrived and soon enough the food was devoured. He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and since he had a sinking feeling about it pulled it out to see that it was the phone number of one of the workers of the barn. I am so sorry. I have to take this. It’s one of the workers from the barn. He hated that it disturbed him from the night out with her as he then stood and made his way to the washroom where he would be able to talk without being under the scrutiny of the restaurant. The pit in the bottom of his stomach grew when he heard the frantic voice on the other end of the line and he comprehended what the lady was saying, he did not even bother to respond and jogged back towards the table. I am so sorry for ruining this night. Something’s happened at the barn we need to get there now. He uttered gently, picking through his wallet and glad that he had enough cash to pay the bill and ended up leaving a very large tip since he was not about to wait for change. The waitress noticed then and noticed that they were in a hurry to get out, he grabbed her arm gently to steady her and help her move quicker opening the door for her of the truck and jumping in himself and driving as fast as was safe in the direction of the barn. She told me there was a fire at the barn. He did not know any details but he was too frantic to care, there would be no words that would be able to ease the state of his mind right now he needed to see that all three horses were alright before there would even be the slightest possibility of that. When she arrived at the barn there was a large plume of black smoke billowing from the top. The sounds of frantic horses whinnying and stomping could be heard as well, he barely threw the truck into park before he was out and running towards the barn. He knew that there was no way any of the staff would be able to get near to the stallion so when he approached the front of the stall he ignored the flames that engulfed the building to step closer and grab the horses halter, the mares stall as well as Kambree’s geldings stall were already open so he did not have to worry about the other horses as of now. Soothing words were spoken to the animal as the bustle around him became too much and he was on his hind legs. Ripping the shirt off his body he managed to wrestle it as a blindfold over the horses eyes and slip the halter on over his head, horses had a strange desire to run towards fire so he made sure to keep the blind fold on as the horses hooves clattered out of the barn ringing out on the pavement as he slid and nearly fell a couple times in a frantic scramble. The fire had been up against the wall of his stall and now he realized he had been burnt on his arm though he knew he could not focus on that he needed to get the horse to safety and find where the rest of the three had been put. The stallion was released into the large fenced stallion paddock with his halter remaining on and it was then that he saw the mare and his heart sunk. It appeared she had just been allowed to run frantically from the barn, like they had just opened her stall door, she smelt of burning mane and tail and her head hung at the back of the alleyway of the paddocks, Kambree’s horse was with her as well. Soft words were murmered to both of the horses as they seemed to be huddled together, the mare holding a foreleg off the ground, a large gash running across the front of the cannon bone and up over her knee. She looked defeated as a halter was slipped over her head and the rope was looped around the geldings neck, where were the rest of the people, why were these horses in here fending for themselves? The rest of the horses were already out occupying the paddocks but there was an empty one in the middle that he lead both of the horses to.

She was ill at ease despite the change of atmosphere and feeling with the male in comparison to their previous encounters. Again she really was not the type that was unbearable to get along with most of the time. She also tended to keep herself away from people that irritated her so therefore it was better for the both of them. The waitress took their orders and she asked the playful question which resulted in a quiet laugh coming from her as well at his answer. Their food was soon delivered and smelt and looked very much appetizing and tasted even better. It was nice to find a place like this that was not outrageous for pricing and also had excellent cuisine. She simply nodded as he took his phone out and stated that it was one of the staff from the barn and she understood completely. There was always a chance of something happening and one would want to know as soon as possible. Plus his horse had just recently had a bout of colic so there was no way that it was not coming back or the other possibilities were infinite. Quickly she became worried as the man jogged back to the table with a rather melancholy expression. Something was wrong and she already was standing by the time he started speaking. It's not ruined.... She reassured him and was already slipping from the booth because she knew whatever going on was not good. She passed a few bills onto the table as well and was matching his pace without hesitating because she knew this was important. He helped her into the truck which was nice and she barely murmured thank you as her mind was clouded of the various things that could have happened. Eyes widened as he stated that he knew there was a fire at the barn and tried her best not to imagine the worst though it seemed impossible. Before the truck hit the driveway to the barn the smoke was easily smelled and soon spread out before them. As soon as the truck was stop she climbed out and ditched the shoes which would only slow her down and really did not protect her feet anyway so this way it would be easier for her to jump back if necessary and she was a lot faster. Right now she was not too worried about herself and more so about the animals. She ran towards the barn as well and found the majority of the stalls empty including their horses besides his stallion which he now had a hold of. Arm covered her mouth and nose as the smoke got thicker and she ducked her way outside to quickly. Once she could see through the smoke, she glanced around to try and find her bearings before spotting the two horses which Enzo already had gathered. Her own horse looked relatively fine but she could see where part of his blanket had burned to his skin as well as having a burnt tail. The mare's condition looked far more severe as she was favoring the leg with the large gash which is some places could be stitched and was definitely needed. The girl quickly tried to think of what options she might have and what substitutes she had heard of for suturing. She was sure there was a needle in the small purse she'd left in the truck and probably dental floss or something that would work for the time being. As he appeared to have the duo under control and leading them back to an open paddock she quickly sprinted across the parking lot to grab her purse and look for a first aid kit if he might have one. She found one wedged under the seat and quickly ran back to the paddock and keeled down momentarily to look over the contents of the kit. She could at least make use of the bandages for now to keep it clean as well as a bit of alcohol to make sure that infection could not get to it instantly. If only she had her truck with her but of course she had to make do as she could. Can I work on it? I can't stitch it but dressing it will work better than nothing right now. She asked only because she was unsure of his desires but still wanted to do her best in aiding the mare for right now because the odds of getting a vet out were extremely slim and highly expensive. If the fire had not originated in the tack room she would have gone and gathered what she could have but it was still smoldering as finally firetrucks were wailing their sirens. The horse obviously looked frightened but still did not tend to wish to move much because of her injured leg. Her own gelding stood in the corner and did not know what to do but thankfully was not bad off for the circumstances that could have happened. Finally one of the barn workers came rushing over to ask how bad off the horses were and to finalize that they had a vet coming asap but they had a horse that was definitely first on the list because he appeared to be going down hill fast. Kambree barely took note since she would find out details later and now needed to focus on the welfare of the horses before her. With soft words she gently slid her hand with the small rag along the animal's shoulder before gently pressing it along her leg until Riveria was settled with the motion. She flinched initially because the solution stung but that was expected as it fought away any infection that was trying to set in. The girl worked carefully to clean the wound as best as she could and still was not quite happy about not being able to stitch it up right away. Gauze was held against the open wound as she carefully wrapped bandaging over it temporarily. Gentle pressure was applied against the gash to hold the bandage in place before stepping back. Finally she heard about the vet being there and was thrilled to hear it was the one she worked under. She jogged off to speak briefly with him on the matter before grabbing one of the small suturing kits from his bag before returning to the mare. She undid the bandage and set it aside since it would be useful later. Now she winced as she prepared the needle to do the stitching since she did not have any sort of medication to subdue the pain.Glancing over the wound she figured it would only need a few stitches but still did not agree with the idea of doing so without something for the horse. Once more she flushed the wound and tried to ease the needle through the mare's skin but could tell it would hurt too much without really getting anywhere. By this time she was relieved to hear the vet hurrying over and taking over from there. Now she did not feel over confident as it only took a few quick moments for the main vet to stitch what was necessary and leave her to finish wrapping up the wound. She redid the wrapping quickly and precisely and looked over the mare briefly before checking over her own horse again. She was adamant with herself for making the mistake of not being able to do the suturing herself and could not figure out why she just blanked out of the idea tonight. Maverick was more frightened than anything and she checked his blanket to see that thankfully it had not burned all the way through. He had minor scratches that she cleaned up but nothing major which was always a relief. Your mare should be fine, she'll just need to be freshly bandaged every day for about a week and then go from there. Probably light exercise for awhile though. She stated to him since the vet hadn't said anything in his own rush. As far as Kambree could tell the mare looked as though she would have an easy recovery as long as it healed back up properly and nothing set into it. She'd seen worse heal so she had little doubt of this mare not recovering.

Everything was in a panic, all the horses were sweaty and churning the paddocks into mud even though it had not rained in a while, they were simply too frightened to stand still. Already his mind was on what they were going to do with the horses, surely the stallion would not be able to stay the night in a paddock he was not trust that much when there was a large area for him to gain speed and jump the fences and no supervision not to mention the fact that the mare was a show horse and had never spent a night outside and tonight with what had just happened that was not going to be an option. He knew that they could get sick from the chills of being so uptight not to mention that they might colic, or have respiration trouble with the smoke inhalation since there was no telling how long they had been in the barn without anyone realizing it was on fire since it was in between the time between when they were brought in and fed dinner and checked on for the night. But right now he would have to deal with the mare that looked to be fairing the worse. Blanket that was burnt slightly and laden with ash was slipped off her back and hung over the fences and he did not want to let her go in case she tore around the paddock and ripped her leg up more, she looked to be lucky since it looked mostly superficial even though it was in a high motion area that would take a long time to heal. The girl had joined him and looked to the mares leg before then running in the direction of the truck and returning with a half hearted attempt of a first aid kit that he stashed under the seat. She then asked if she would be able to work on the horse. Of course. He uttered gently and ran a hand along the horses neck as she looked uncomfortable for the alcohol that was being placed in the wound though she seemed to understand that it was needed and stood still just twitching uncomfortably. After one of the workers informed them that the vet would be arriving Kambree then jogged off in that direction and returned with the vet and a small smile was offered as the horses leg was then stitched and the vet then left Kambree to do the rest soft Germany words were uttered to the mare and the horses ears remained pricked to him even when the leg was wrapped and pressure was put on the wound. When she finished she then gave him instruction for the horse and he nodded. Thank you so much. He told her. I have an idea where the horses can go, at least temporarily. They obviously can’t stay here. He unclipped the rope from the mares halter and she moved in the back of the paddock where the other horse stood. He was glad that he spent the money on a larger horse trailer; he had bought a four horse head to head trailer because on the longer trips it could be converted into a two horse box stall trailer and it seemed to be worth it with all the equipment. I will be right back. He then moved to where he got reception at the barn which happened to be where his truck was parked and phoned the owner of the stallion. Hey. I know it’s a horrible time where you are right now. I am sorry to call so late. I have a large favour to ask. He rambled on still affected by the adrenaline and fear that pumped through his body. Oh no its not trouble, what is it? Do I hear sirens? The luck seemed to be impeccable lately with the stallion having just colicked and now the barn burning down. Yes, unfortunately you do. I got a call from the barn not even an hour ago for them to tell me the place was burning down. All the horses are fine but they are out of a place to stay now. He heard shock at the other end of the phone and knew that when the business man got home that the owners of his barn would not hear the end of it and truthfully with all the mistakes that had happened he did not blame him. You don’t even have to ask me about that. Move them in. I will give Roberto a call right now and tell him to expect you. And I know how you are and I know telling you that Roberto lives on site would not be enough, there is a suite in the barn being renovated that is empty but still has the furniture in it, you are welcome to stay there. He realized that there were generally not a lot of people left in the world like this that were that genuinely kind that would not care even if the situation would not work out he would be there to help. Thank you so much. There are three horses; one of my friends is also stranded for a place. He told him over the phone. No problem and I will see you when I get home. He told him before hanging up. He then jogged back to where the girl was with all the horses. They are free to go to Memory Lane farms, is where the stallion comes from if that’s alright with you. Or I can drop Maverick off wherever you want, I will go hook my trailer up. He was glad that he kept his trailer hitch in the tack room of the trailer since he did not feel safe leaving any of the horses. The last two stalls would have to be converted into the box stall since that was the only way to put the stallion divider up so that it would run all the way to the roof. He arrived at the tackroom door and pulled the keys from his truck out and unlocked the door before then grabbing the hitch and one of the barn crew came jogging up to him asking him what he was doing. This might have sparked a little anger in the man. Well I am moving my horses out of this place, what do you think.. It would be safe to keep a stallion outside all night and have yet another mishap, he was felt moldy hay and then the barn burnt down around him, you really think I am going to risk it? He asked and the girl looked shocked before then wandering off. He backed the truck up, luckily he had a small decal on the back of his truck that he simply had to line up with a line on the trailer so that he could get the hitch lined up the first try and within a matter of fifteen minutes the trailer was hooked up. He then stepped into the back undoing the ramp and organizing the stallion stall so that he would not be able to cause any sorts of trouble and would be secure there. He then jogged back to the horses. Alright I am ready. I will load Percy first since I don’t trust him not to run through the fence when take these two away. He was then well aware that he was only wearing half a shirt since the rest had been used as a blind fold for the animal. He managed to haphazardly clip a lead rope to the horses halter and a chain was put over his nose to try not to get dragged, Enzo had brought the trailer as close as possible to the top of the hill so that they would not have to walk past the burning building and fire trucks. He made it to the top of the hill and the horse took no coaxing to get into the trailer and he was then secured behind the stallion divider. With a sigh of relief he then jogged back to find another barn worker, this time the head one standing there. Our horses are leaving, right now. I will be back later to claim what is mine and not ruined out of the tack room, or what’s left of it. He uttered before then waiting for Kambree to grab Maverick. The mare was lead in front and she seemed to be walking almost fine with her bandaged leg. She was loaded into the trailer where the wall of the stallion divider was solid so he could not see her and backed into the cross tie stall with Maverick beside her. He then left the lead ropes on the floor before pulling the ramp up. You have a choice, there’s a suite that’s quite big at the barn that you can stay at if you want to keep an eye on Maverick. I am going to stay anyways so if it’s fine I can keep an eye on him and I could drop you off at your house right now so you could get some rest. It’s completely up to you. Or you can come with me to the barn and I can drop you off after, it’s about a half an hour to forty minute drive from here. He uttered and waited for her to answer, since he did not want to have to leave the horses alone at the barn while he drove home he was going to make a quick stop at his house to grab a change of clothes and toiletries and other things before heading to the barn.
