She was aware that his eyes were following her as she left the room and moved into the bathroom of their bedroom. She finished brushing her teeth and washing her face before moving back into the bedroom to turn off the lights, having forgotten that he needed back in as well to brush his own teeth and feeling kind of bad as he tried to be as quiet and discreet as possible as he made his way through the room where she was now laying on the bed and into the bathroom being polite enough to not even turn the light on until the door was closed to make sure that the light did not stream in one where she was laying. He was in an out in a matter of minutes and soon she was once again alone in the bedroom. Falling asleep as if it was her own bed, though she knew that it was far from it she was starting to get a little more used to it. The only thing about her bed and her room that she missed was the purple and blue and light green quilt that covered her bed and was made for her by one of the elder women of the tribe. She made a note to grab it at a later date and use it for something or even just put it into storage so that it would still be in her possession. These were the last thoughts before she was sent into a light slumber. Though she found that being in the new surroundings that her senses were still alert and she was quite aware of what was happening around her. No where near what she knew Kat would be like with her animal senses but enough to keep herself safe, so she had awoken when the smallest noise was heard along the window, though as she crawled out of the room it was starting to get louder and louder until she was able to feel the vibration through the floor in the bedroom. Of course she was expecting the worse thinking that someone was out there. Kat luckily was not a sound sleeper and he seemed to be awake long before she even touched him, though the gentle touch seemed to show him that it was not an intruder. He sat up slowly though she was still jumpy. He did not speak just lifted her by her shoulders to a standing position and lead her to a small room on the other end of the house. Looking serious he instructed her to open the door for no one but him. As an after thought he thrust a rifle into her hands and a brow was raised slightly. Of course she had been taught to use one since her father had raised her and taught her a lot of what he thought might come in use in the later days of his life. She did not understand how something like this might ever come in handy though right now it was nice to be able to rely on her abilities. She nodded as he told her and gave her instructions before passing through the door, she heard it lock behind him and pressed the key into the lock making sure that she was secure in the small room before looking around the area. It was nearly silent on the inside since it seemed to be far away from the action and she immediately was worried about him, what if there was someone out there waiting for him. Though she knew him well enough to know that he would not go out there unprepared. She wondered how many enemies the male had if he had designed a room like this in his own house and seemed to be so prepared for an attack on his own area. She did not allow herself to think of that for too long though because she did not like the thought of her husband being in danger, even if she had not know him for very long she was attached and anything that put him in danger was no friend to her. She was glad when it did not take too long and soon he was back at the door, his voice distinguishable against the door he told her that it had been a tree that had been up against the house and there was nothing to worry about. She did not put the rifle down right away but unlocked the door and once she knew that it was him for sure she placed it back where he had found it and reached upward to put the key where he had gotten it from. She followed him into the bedroom to spot that the larger of the crashes had broken the glass of the window and he was already grabbing some towels to place over the window so that it would not be too cold and it would at least stop the gusts of wind. He was a little gruff in telling her to tear the tape off though she did not think much off it and tore the tape in the lengths of strips that he would need before handing them to him and sticking them on the finger that he held out for her. He seemed to understand that he had sounded a little harsh before and the thank you was spoken gently to her a small smile creased lips at this. Once the towels were up the room had chilled a little though it was something that did not bother her much knowing that there would be blankets on the bed. I will be fine in here, a bed is made for sleeping. But you should come join me, it will be less cold with both of us. She suggested. It was true and even though he had proven it to be the tree outside she would feel a little better with him in the same room for the night though she was not going to admit to that. Plus I am sure on the trip we will be sleeping in the same quarters so we might as well get used to it now, before you actually need your rest. She knew that her argument was convincing so she grasped his arm and moved in the direction of the bed, climbing to the complete opposite side she laid back against the pillows, she would not deny that she felt a little awkward but she knew that only time would help them settle into a routine.

Already, the man had begun to walk out of the room in quiet, relaxed footsteps; his mind preoccupied with thoughts of sleeping on the living room floor so the damsel could take the couch, but when she spoke, he was stunned into stopping abruptly. Slowly, the drake began to turn around and look at her with an unreadable expression settled over rough features. Without saying anything, he let his eyes roam over her body as if he was trying to figure it out where those words had come from. Gaze lifted to again meet jade depths while she approached him and grasped his arm to pull him towards the bed, further endorsing her position on the proposition by telling him that he would need to get used to it before too long. Kat made no objection as he followed her to the bed and got beneath the covers on the opposite side of the bed from her. He did not refuse to sleep with the woman for his own sake, but rather hers. By waiting on her to tell him when she was comfortable enough to have him in the same bed with her, he hoped to give her enough time to be settled without feeling as if he was forcing her into being more than the girl who wore his ring upon her finger. It felt good to have his own mattress underneath him again and that helped to ease the rugged set of his body as he lay down on his side facing towards the inside of the bed. Once settled, he let lids close over liquids and almost instantly fell asleep, letting the darkness again consume his mind. When he woke the next morning, the unmistakable feeling of warmth against his body was the first thing he noticed. Shades lifted with the man immediately alert to find that at some point during the night, either he or the girl, or both, had moved closer to each other and now practically every section of their figures had contact with the other's body. If that was not bad enough, the bloke quickly realized that his legs were entangled with hers, making it impossible for him to get out of the bed without waking her. As if out of reflex, he reached out and set his hands on her sides without thinking while pulling his legs out from the embrace of her's. Once free, he slid out from beneath the comfortable and made his way directly to the bathroom, not speaking or even pausing to see if she had indeed been woken by him. He finished up quickly then came out after washing his hands and moved to the closet where he picked out old clothes for the day of fixing up the roof to dress in before moving on to the kitchen where he began to make waffles. By the time that Feylnx got out of the bed and dressed, he had already cooked the three he would be eating, remembering just barely that she was going to brunch with his mom. Kat got down a plate and piled the waffles on then got the maple syrup from the cupboard, a knife and a fork from the drawer, and butter from the fridge and set them all out on the table. Taking his seat, he watched her, curious to see if she would take a seat with him while he ate before she needed to leave. Because she did not know the way, the bloke had decided to drive her and therefore ate rather quickly. After putting everything away, he looked to her to make sure she was ready before grabbing the keys and putting on his jacket and heading for the door. He held it open for her then walked down the path and through the gate to the car. Once they were both inside, he drove her to his parents and parked the car in the driveway, getting out with her. I'm leaving the car here so you can drive yourself back. I need to fix the damage the tree did last night. Handing over the keys, the drake nodded then turned and started down the street, heading back to their house so he could get to work on fixing the porch's overhang.

The winter weather from the window was not too bad when they were beneath the blankets and the only thing she could picture getting cold was her nose. Blankets were pulled up to her chin as she settled in bed next to him. He did not put up a protest like she thought he might which was nice. The light had been turned off and they were immerged into the darkness, now she started to wonder how the day would go tomorrow with brunch in the morning. Of course he expected his mother to be just like him because where else would he get his tendencies from though that was not something that would bother her. Already she was starting to appreciate the quiet man. His intentions were simple and usually easy to understand. He did not even comment about her inviting him to bed with her, he moved to the other side of the bed and laid beneath the covers with her. A small smile that was invisible in the dark rose on features. Before finally closing her eyes small lyrics were mumbled. Good night. She stated gently before allowing the room to fall silent and into the darkness and eyes to drift shut. She had no idea what time it was but she was awoken when the man moved from the bed, that was when she realized how close they had been, legs wrapped around eachother, and bodies close. It was true that it had been warmer. With the towel over the door she had no concept of what time it was though she knew that with her sleeping interuption last night that it would be a little later then she would have expected. When she stood feet touched the floor and arms were stretched above her head as a yawn parted kissers though that was just in order for her to wake up. Once her vision was clear and her mind was ready to take on the new day she grabbed the clothes in which she was going to wear to his mothers and moved into the bathroom. An elegant pair of jeans and a blue tank top covered by a warm white hoody was placed overtop before she then brushed her teeth and washed her face yet again and applied a thin layer of mascara and left her hair down. Long raven locks were slightly wavy and reached long past her shoulders. She paused at the end of the bed to put her socks on since the floors were a little cold and stepped out in the direction of the kitchen where she could hear that he was banging around making something for him to eat since it did not appear that he was going to be coming for brunch as well. He already had his meal prepared and she sat down across from him. He had three waffles and she made a note that it was something that he chose to eat for breakfast so therefore would be something that she would make sure to cook for him when she had the chance. He hurried through the meal in order to be finished by the time that they had to leave, she helped him put things away washing the dishes so that they would be able to dry in the time that they were away so that they could be put away later. She followed him out the door and through the gate to the car, slipping her jacket on overtop of her hoody since it was rather cold this morning. She then pulled the seatbelt across her lap and fastened it. The music station that he traditionally listened to was low in the background and comforting noise for the drive over that did not take too long before they pulled up into a driveway that she did not recognize. He told her that he was going to leave her the car so that she would be able to drive back when they were finished so that he could just focus on fixing the house. Alright, see you in a bit. She told him before walking the rest of the way to the door and pausing to gather her nerves for a moment before knocking on the door. She would have to make a good first impression and she did not want to have to ask him to come with her to knock on the door. A small smile was uttered as the door was opened to reveal the lady. Hello. She stated gently.

She was just waking up when the man walked out of the closet with the clothes he had chosen for the day. Out of the corner of his eye, he watched as she swung her feet over the side of the bed and hopped down to stand before stretching with arms above her head and mouth parted in a wide yawn. Hair was loose and moved as she did, drawing his attention while she crossed the room to take her turn in the bathroom. Once she was gone from his sight and no longer there to distract him, the bloke got dressed quickly then moved on to the kitchen. As much as he did not want to be, he remained attentive to everything that the maiden did, allowing his mind to revert away from the nearly thoughtless task of making waffles. Every sound she made he heard and through those clues basically knew every move that was being made behind the closed door of their bedroom. Try as he might, he could not keep his brain from focusing on her for longer than a few moments. The warmth and unexpected closeness that had been experienced that morning upon waking up had at first startled him and he had forced himself to remain indifferent about it, however, now he caught himself missing the feeling, which really made no logical sense. Occasionally, he enjoyed the company of a woman, but having an urge to experience it again so quickly was a bit dumbfounding to him. Dismissing these thoughts as best as he could, Kat finished cooking and just when he had plated the last waffle, the damsel emerged from the room. While holding a fork idly in his fingers, the man quickly appraised her appearance then dropped his gaze and moved towards the dining table to eat. Remaining characteristically quiet, he ate then led the way to the car where softly playing oldies country played from the powerful speakers that he never used. He bought the Avalanche for comfort and versatility not style or pleasure although the man who he had gotten it off of had already put a new sound system in it so it simply was just an added plus that most other people would find intriguing. His parents did not live more than five minutes away so when he pulled up and into their driveway he glanced over at her to see if she was surprised at the short trip. Seeming unfazed, she got out and stood at the grill to the truck with him as he handed over the keys. Now that they were here and she was about to go meet his parents, the bloke could sense her getting nervous and wanted to comfort him with maybe some reassuring words, but he did not know what to say and instead started on his walk back to their house. Much like the drive, the walk did not take long and so hardly any time was wasted before he got back and was able to begin his work on the house. First he needed to remove the fallen limb which was done with a chain saw and an axe, when needed. The cut pieces of the tree were discarded into the edge of the wood where it could rot and return to the earth if he did not use it as firewood during the colder nights. From the shed he retrieved some spare roofing material and whatever wood he had left over from building the shed. After using all that he could to repair it, the male pulled out his cell phone and dialed the local hardware store to ask the owner's son to bring him more planks and roof shingles as well as a new window to replace the busted one. Knowing that it would take the lad at least 20minutes to get everything that he asked for loaded and delivered, the man climbed down from the roof and went into the house to make himself a quick pot of hot tea. Only occasionally would he drink coffee, but otherwise did not feel as if he needed the extra stimulation that the caffeine provided to his body. Once the boy arrived, his truck tired crunching against the snow that had fallen, Kat returned out of doors to help him unload the supplies then turned down the kid's offer for help which sent him dejectedly back to his father's store. The man felt for the boy as he had personal experience with the boredom of working in the old man's hardware store. He had been the one doing the jobs that this poor kid had become saddled with a few years ago once the son had grown old enough and after Kat had been Chosen. Still, he was never keen on having help with anything and he knew the old man would throw a fit if his son was kept from his duties, even if there was nothing for him to do at the moment. The shifter had just climbed back up on the roof to work finish the porch when the sound of another vehicle approaching caught his attention and he looked up with saw in hand to see his own car pulling up to the house before the girl climbed out.

She had not felt this vulnerable in a long time. She knew that in the end that the parents had approved of her enough to allow her to be married to Kat though that did not mean that they were going to have to like her and not to mention that she had never met them before. When the woman answered the door she looked like an older female version of Kat and a small smile was offered to her. Their introductions were made though not too many more words were spoken before she took her shoes off at the door and hung her jacket in the closet in the corner of the room before passing through to step into the kitchen. Most of the brunch was already made though she could see that there were parts for her to help with so without even waiting for the woman to say anything she moved to set to work washing the lettuce leaves for the salad and chopping up different vegetable she knew were intended for the salad moved with ease with the woman in the kitchen without a word needing to be uttered between to two of them hoping that this was going as well as she thought it was. When she was finished the salad was placed in its bowl on the table along with a couple other things that had been prepared. The woman uttering a soft thank you though that was the only recognition before they took their place at the table to start the meal. She knew that the only reason she had been invited here was because it was the right thing to do since his mother did not know her and it would not be right for her to be married to her son and never having met. Though so far it did not seem to be too bad since she knew what to expect and had a few days to start to get to know Kat before trying to deal with his mother. She seemed rather nice, just at a loss for words as her son. She attempted a little conversation while they were at the table asking her about what her plans were for the future and a couple other things which she answered to the best of her ability before they then finished their meals and she took the plates that they had been used to the sink and helped her clean up. When they were deemed to be finished she stood at the door. Thank you for inviting me. It was very nice to meet you. She uttered before stepping out into the wintery weather, it had started snowing since she had arrived and she walked towards the truck unlocking the doors and this time taking the drivers seat. She had thought that the male would have been more protective over the truck and had been very suprised when he had given her the keys though she supposed it would be impossible for her to get into an accident on the roads of the tribe and the less than five minute drive. She was suprised when she did pass another truck on the road and was forced to pull over to the side so that he was able to pass since the road was so small. She pulled into the driveway and stepped out of the car gathering the keys and locking the door before moving quickly towards the house, she grabbed another jacket before moving in the direction of where he was working on the roof. Can I help? She asked him with a small smile, standing close to the side of the roof and waiting for his answer.

By the time the lady had climbed out of the vehicle, the man's attention had already returned to the roof which he had continued working on, but only half way. As what had seemed to become customary for the bloke whenever the girl was around, he kept part of his attention on what he was doing and the rest of it on her; constantly aware of where she was or what she was doing at some level of consciousness. He heard her feet upon the porch below him and stopped his hammering for a moment in case any debris would fall from the opposite side of the wood then continued once the sound of the front door closing on its frame reached him. Confident that she was inside and would stay there at least for a while longer, the man allowed all of his focus to be taken up by the job, quickly getting the shingles nailed down in two, sometimes one strokes with the tool. It was understandable then that when the lass came back outside, without the bloke's knowledge, and quietly asked if he needed help, that he faltered a bit in his tasks and missed the nail, landing the flat end of the metal on top of his hand that braced him against the roof. Unlike others who might have yelled out in surprise and pain, the lord was completely silent, but did drop the tool from his hold and rock back onto his heels as he lifted his hand, watching as it began to swell rapidly and turn into a deep purple and red mixture of color beneath the skin from the number of blood vessels that had been severed. Then, just as quickly as it had formed, the bruise disappeared, taking the swelling along for the act to leave him with his normal, tanned hand. Only once this process had finished did he look up from the extremity which was now allowed to dangle limply from his wrist where the arm hung off his leg, expression unreadable as depths met hers. No, I'm almost done here. I could use your assistance with the window when I finish. Reluctantly, he made a bit of a compromise within his mind as instead of turning her down indefinitely as he would have another, Kat left the opportunity open for her to at least feel as if she were being helpful rather than dealing with the sting of his indifference. In all reality, he could not do the window all by himself anyway and she could seal it while he held it in place. Waiting till she confirmed that she would help with that chore, the shifter then returned to his duty, picking up the hammer once more and finishing off the row of shingles before starting on another. Pretty soon, all that needed to be done on the roof was finished and without thinking, the baron gathered the excess supplies, dropping them carefully down to the ground, before jumping from that height and landing on his feet with knees bent almost to the point of where he was crouched on the ground. Like a natural born cat, he moved off without a misstep and placed whatever he had left over into the shed before returning with window sealant paste. Before doing anything else, he set the tube to rest on the porch railing then went to work taking the old, broken window from its slot. It was set aside to lean against the wall before he went to get Feylnx and handed her the tube. Just put the paste along the edges of the window in the space between the frame and the house while I hold it up. He directed her while unwrapping the new window from its plastic covering then picked it up and placed it where it was supposed to go, making sure it was firmly settled in the correct place before turning and nodding to her. Once they were finished outside, he told her to go inside and finish the seal while he continued to hold it still from the outside. By the time she returned outside after covering the inside, the man was able to let it go since the majority of it had dried. Standing back, he looked at it for a long moment to find it satisfactory before turning to the girl and taking the now empty tube of window paste and the broken window then taking them out by the road where the dump truck could pick them up when they came to get the bags from the garbage cans. When returning to the house, he stomped what he could off his boots then stopped and stood aside in the cold while holding the door open for her to pass through. His boots were taken off and left beside the door after he followed her in with his coat hanging upon the coat rack on the wall opposite of the door where the dirty shoes sat. Without pausing to ponder much, he made his way back to their bedroom and pulled out his suitcase, knowing they needed to get their packing done then since their flight would be leaving early in the morning. Our flight leaves at six in the morning tomorrow. Vocals called out, making sure they could be heard from any room in the small house just in case. Just put your bag by the door once you've finished packing and I can take them to the truck when I wake up in the morning. As he spoke, the male set himself to work unzipping the suitcase and then ushering around his room to get whatever he would need over the trip and place it in the oversized traveling container which had been a gift from his parents many years ago. Even after including nearly three weeks worth of clothes and his heavier mountain gear, the case was still not filled three fourths of the way, but that was how the shifter liked it. He followed his own instructions, setting the suitcase by the door so he could move it in the morning easily without waking her up until absolutely necessary. They ate dinner together with Kat unfortunately making some last minute calls to have their mail stopped and the like. He finished halfway through the meal and they were able to finish eating in peace and quiet. Quietly, he ushered her off to the shower and a bed by taking the dirty dishes to the sink and beginning to wash them, leaving her with no other employment than to get ready for bed. Following right along behind her once the dishes were washed and put away, the drake took a quick shower and after brushing his teeth in his towel, changed into a pair of boxers like he usually wore to sleep in before stepping out of the bathroom and shutting off the light, immersing the house in complete darkness. No hesitation was shown when Kat moved across the room and climbed into the bed on the side that he had slept on last night and then noticed that the warmth from the girl had already started to sink into the sheets. Good night Feylnx. He uttered quietly before letting himself relax and fall into his usual deep slumber. The next morning he woke in the same position as the one before except his arm had managed to throw itself across her waist, leaving fingertips to flirt with the fabric of her shirt that covered her back. After sighing and wondering whether or not this would become a regular occurrence, he very slowly and carefully moved from the bed to dress without making a sound then transported their luggage to the truck. When he returned, he moved back into the bedroom and with a gentle hand shaking her shoulder, woke up the woman from her sleep. Time to get dressed. He told her before walking out of the room, shutting the door behind him, so she could have some privacy. Before going outside, he had turned on the stove and now got out the two cinnamon roll cans left in the fridge to pop them open and put them on a cookie sheet before putting them in the oven to bake. Just when the lady came out from their room, he pulled them out of the oven and put on the icing, glancing up to look at her while she approached. It shouldn't take long for them to cool off. We've got some time to eat.

Brunch with his mother had not been as bad as she had thought it was going to be. There were the tense moments that she had not known what to say or to do but for the most part those were few and far between and she dealt with her in the same manner in which she had learnt to be around Kat. She was soft spoken and not so much for words just the same of her son and by the time that she had left she wished that they would do it again soon maybe when they came back from their trip and she could invite them over for lunch to show some of her cooking. When she arrived back with the truck she noticed that his eyes fell on her for a moment before she disappeared into the house to grab a warmer jacket and he did not notice when she came back out. She could tell that he was just satisfying her when she asked if he wanted any help and he told her yes before hitting his hand very hard with the hammer. If it had been her she knew that at least a few profanities would have flown from her lips and she would probably be bent over and in tears though he gritted his teeth and continued on as if nothing would happen. She did not comment but she knew that later when they went inside she promised herself that she would make him put some ice on it at least that would make her feel better. It was the least that she could do since it had been her that spooked him. When he finished hammering it was time for them to put the new window in and to seal it. He held it for her and gave her instructions on how to use the tube of paste like liquid that was to seal the cold from getting into the house. She finished the outside in no time at all before having to the same on the inside so that it would be even and she set it back down when she came back outside and he had to hold it for a little longer to make sure that it set before he let it go on its own. He ushered her into the house and she reluctantly agreed and stepped into the front door, placing her shoes at the door and hanging her jacket up by the door. Instantly he moved to their bedroom and told her that their flight would be leaving in the morning she nodded lightly before pulling out her own suitcase that had been left behind by her mother the last time she had seen her. She placed all the new clothes into it and all the warmest of her clothes before finishing and zipping the suitcase up and rolling it to the front door. When it turned to time to make dinner she moved into the kitchen and caught his arm when he moved past her noticing the large bruise that was now situated at the top of his hand. You can't tell me that doesn't hurt. I am sorry. I should have warned you before I came out. Fingers were gentle as gaze was raised to meet his in a confident manner as the apology was spoken in a sincere manner. She moved to the freezer to grab an ice pack she had seen there earlier when she had returned from her first grocery shopping trip and placed it over the affected area holding it there for a moment before he grabbed it himself. She finished off the dinner with his help before bringing it to the table. She did not mind that he had a lot of calls that he was making and she ate in silence. When he was finished a small smile was shot in his direction before continuing and finishing within a matter of moments as she stood to gether the plates he shoed her away to go and shower and get ready for bed. She was grateful that it would not nearly be as cold as it was the night before so therefore if her hair did not dry completely before bed she would not be left with hypothermia. She towelled hereself off the best that she cold with strands nearly dry as she dressed in a pair of pajama pants and a loose t-shirt before brushing her teeth and continuing on her way to bed. The prospect of the warm sheets was comforting and she settled into the bed with a small sigh. She watched as he moved off to do his own thing in the bathroom hearing the shower turn on and then soon a few minutes later off again and he joined her all within a time frame that seemed to short to be possible. Though he was a guy and she knew that they did not take as much time in things like this as a lot of the girls that she knew. She had never been one to wear too much makeup, it was frowned upon at school though a lot of the girls still did it. The bed shifted beneath the new weight as he joined her and the lights were turned off before soft lyrics mutter good night to her. Good night, Kat. She responded though it was so quiet to anyone but him it might be considered inaudible though she knew that he would have no trouble with the kitty senses. She settled into the world of the dreams and had a dream that she knew that she would not remember in the morning since she rarely did remember her dreams and awoke to someone gently shaking her shoulder. Spotting him she relaxed and comprehended what he told her, that it was time to get up for their flight. She nodded briefly before standing and noticing that he had closed the door when he left so she picked out the clothes that she had left out to wear and changed into them after brushing her teeth and using the washroom before the smell of something cooking brought her out into the kitchen. It was sweet and smelled of cinnamon she noticed that it was cinnamon buns and brow was raised lightly with a smile. They smell good. She commented, grabbing the jog of orange juice and two glasses before setting them on the table and sitting down assuming that he would bring them over when he came to sit down. When they were within her reach and cool enough she reached out to take one delicately off the plate, she had a habit of tearing them into little pieces to eat it and did so savouring each bite. When she was stuffed and felt ready to go she stood and picked up their glasses rinsing them out and putting them out to dry while they were away and returning the orange juice to the fridge before following him out the door. Her passport had been found and was in her pocket. Her father always had gotten it renewed for her, just in case he told her so now it would come in handy since a lot of the people of the tribe did not have that kind of identification.

A small grin was all the acknowledgement that met the lady's compliment on the aroma of breakfast before the man got down a plate and moved all of the rolls onto it, glancing sideways to see her pouring them both some orange juice which she carried to the table. Following her lead, he picked up the plate of food and sank down into the chair beside hers, setting the cinnamon rolls between them before lifting the glass to his lips. Orange juice was really his only addiction. He loved the way the tangy liquid felt upon his tongue and lips. If there was no other drink in the world, he would be satisfied, but no one outside of himself and his parents knew of this vice and he intended to keep it that way. Even before any of the rolls had cooled down enough, the bloke downed a full glass and had to fill it up again before reaching for some of the food, tearing off pieces to eat by unwinding the pastry from its typical conical type shape. Glancing up at the woman, he thought back to the day before when she had forced an ice pack onto his hand while cooking dinner and then looked down to his hand, flexing it experimentally to see if the bruise still lingered beneath the skin. Initially, she was right: it had hurt, but the male hardly noticed it after the shock of the moment had worn off. Instead, he had been too angry at himself for letting her surprise him. Besides, a long time ago he had trained himself to ignore pain as much as he could. Remaining silent throughout the meal, he finished what she did not eat and then rose, carrying the plate to the sink and handing it over so she could wash it off when she did the glasses then started towards the door to pull on his boots and grab his jacket. Waiting till she joined him, the baron opened the door to let her pass through first before stepping outside onto the dark porch and turning around to lock the door since he had no grasp of how long they would be gone. Once finished, he put the house key onto the truck's ring and walked along behind her to the vehicle where he climbed into the driver's seat then started the engine. Pulling out of the driveway, he made his way to the main road leading out of the reservation, turning up the music some to keep him awake as they made the hour drive to the small time airport where they would be taking the small jet owned by the tribe. He parked in their small parking lot then got out to get their bags and after locking the doors started towards the shoddy built looking building; seeing the operator coming towards the door to meet him. "Hello Mr. Cly. The pilot's waiting on you in the hanger." The old man greeted him before shifting his attentions to the woman who followed along behind Kat, looking surprised to see someone else coming along with the shifter especially when it was a woman. Ignoring the reaction, he continued through the hallways to the hanger, lifting his chin in greeting to the pilot who stood beside the small four person white and blue plane because his hands were full carrying the baggage. The other baron helped him by opening the luggage hatch and Kat quickly got everything loaded, whipped off his hands on his jeans then reached forward to shake the man's hand. Thanks. Deep vocals uttered softly before he turned to Feylnx and held out his arm in a gesture for her to come to him. The pilot obviously knew the man well because he glanced at the girl then lifted his eyebrows at Kat. My wife, Feylnx. He introduced her to the man watching as the other politely held out his hand to shake hers. "Pleasure Mrs. Cly. I'm Sam, the pilot. Are we ready to go?" Glancing to look at the Chosen man for confirmation, the man moved to his door once Kat nodded. Turning to open the door to his right, the husband stepped back to help her up into the seat then climbed up into the plane behind her, getting the spare headphones from the rack in front of them to put one on then handing the other to her. As the plane began to back out of the hanger onto the take off track, he helped her buckle up the seat belt then sat back to stare out the window as they took off. Within thirty minutes of flight, he fell asleep, waking only when the pilot spoke up over the radio waves, telling them that they were about ten minutes out. Sitting up, the lord stretched like a lazy cat then glanced over at the lady to see how she had done during the trip. Just then, the plane dropped unexpectedly, making the man's stomach lurch and he hissed in reaction, glaring to the front of the cabin at Sam. "Sorry man. I couldn't help it this time." Grumbling, Kat again relaxed against the seat, closing his eyes because despite as much as he was required to fly, he still hated it; especially the landing. Thankfully, it was over soon enough and they pulled up into the hanger of the local airport here. Unbuckling himself, he hung up the headset then climbed out of the plane once it had come to a complete stop, turning to help Fey down before getting their luggage out of the back of the plane. Turning around once everything was out; he saw one of the tribe members he recognized from his previous visits waiting for them. Sighing, he started towards them, shaking their hands while nodding. Waiting till his wife came up beside him, he made the introductions and because he was not interested in seeing another person look at him in shock, he started towards the exit door, knowing that his typical vehicle would be waiting for him in the parking lot. He had already loaded their luggage into the black SUV's back hatch when the lass emerged with the tribe's ambassador at her side. Holding back a possessive growl, he prowled towards them like an angry cat, moving between them to put his hand on the girl's back and lead her towards the passenger door of the car. We will meet you in the reservation. He grumbled, pointedly dismissing the other man before promptly ignoring him to open the door to let her into the vehicle. Crossing in front of the vehicle, he moved to the driver's side and pulled out of the parking lot, heading down the road using his memory to drive to the reservation of their sister tribe.

She could not help but think that a grin looked a little out of place on the mans face since it did not happen very often though it was a welcome change. He did not speak as per usual though that one gesture was enough to make her smile, smile reaching all the way to hazel coloured optics for a brief moment before vanishing once again though a pleasent expression remained plastered on her face. She was nervous for this plane ride, she had never been on a plane, though she reminded herself that it was less likely for your plane to crash then to get hit by lightning, somehow that did not ease the nerves though. But she knew that she would have to be brave and pretend as though it did not bother her. As cinnamon rolls were placed in front o f them she took a small sip of juice only to notice that he was already finished his glass and was stepping up to get a second glass. She noticed as he was eating the pastry that he was looking down at his hand that she had forced ice onto last night. She knew that it had not been needed though it had made her feel better. Within the next ten minutes she was finished her breakfast and he finished off what she was not able to eat. She stood to start cleaning off the plates so that they would be able to return to a clean house and not one with places molding in the sink since she knew that he did not have a clue how long this would take them. After she had driven home from bunch yesterday she had phoned her dad to inform him that she was going to go with Kat on the trip and he had been excited, strange to hear from her dad but wished her to be safe and call him when she returned. She figured that the excitement was because Kat was trying to include her in the parts of his life but what he did not know was that Kat was not given too much of a choice when it came to this matter. That did not matter though since she knew that he could have stood his ground and told her an absolute no when she told him that she wanted to come with him. She finished and placed the plates in the small dish dryer stand to dry while they were away before grabbing her own jacket and shoes and stepping out of the door in front of him and heading towards the truck. The music did just what it had intended to, kept her awake during the time it took to drive down to the airport. She had guessed that they would be flying on the regular air line though she had been wrong she did not even know that the tribe had their own air plane though it was apparent as she stepped out of the car once they came to a stop near a small local airport. When they reached the first person he wore a suprised expression when he noticed her, a small smile was offered to him and she was about to say something though they were already moving deeper into the building when they met with the pilot and together the two men loaded the air craft before Kat then shook the mans hand and the pilot addressed him respectfully. She was a little suprised as Kat gestured for her to come closer though she did and hand reached out to provide a firm handshake with the pilot the introductions had already been made so she settled for a simple statement. Very nice to meet you. She told him with a stunning smile before their attention was turned back to the plane and he asked if they were ready to go. Already her stomach sunk with the prospect of this place though she was determined not to show it. She took the headphones that he offered once they were on the plane and tightened her seatblet preparing for them to take off. Hand gripped the arm rest though it turned out to not be as horrible as she had expected. Once they were in the air it was smooth sailing and she found herself staring out the window at the scenery disappearing. She knew that she would not be as relaxed as Kat was and would not be able to fall asleep, though it was good that he was getting his rest since they had been up the night before last with the tree that fell and she knew that he was going to be busy when they arrived here. The peaceful ness did not last long though since the pilot announced that they were close to landing. By now she had calmed her nerves enough to sit back in her seat and look slightly relaxed not gripping her went with it. She was a little more tense now but not like Kat who emitted a hiss. She held back a laugh from this as they then landed she stood with slightly wobbly legs but soon she was back to normal placing the head phones back on the rack where he had gotten them and stepping out of the plane. They were met by another man and introductions were made and small talk was made on the way to the car. This she did not see as anything to be concerned about but by the possessive look on Kats face and the way he pressed a hand to her back to lead her in the direction of the car she wondered what had sparked this side of him but the drive to the tribe was rather uneventful and silent.

Kat remained usually silent throughout the first portion of the drive to their sister tribe's lands, but for reasons outside of the ordinary. His mind was preoccupied by the episode of possessiveness he had felt for his wife only moments before in the airport parking lot and the feeling of satisfaction that had come from both the human portion of him and the spiritual portion of him at declaring the girl his with his touch. At first, he had tried to convince himself that this gratification had come from obtaining a frightened and submissive look from the ambassador when he had challenged for the lady's company, but that expression had been all too commonly shot in his direction for it to bring pleasure any longer. Even with that concession made, the male still could not make out why she had meagerly yielded to the firm placement of his hand upon the small of her back or the directing of that touch towards the car. She had noticed the strange shift in behavior in him; he had seen the puzzled facade when he had helped her into the SUV, but yet she remained silent about it as if she was ignorant of how out of character the moment had been. For this, the shifter was mostly grateful because he was certainly not at this time ready to confront his motives for acting as such, but he also was a little peeved to learn that she was not at all curious enough to ask him about it even if he would avoid giving a reply. After a good half of the trip had been crossed in silence, the drake grew tired of running the scenario over and over in his brain so he turned on the radio and began to search through the channels, grumbling as he set it to the station he would normally listen to only to find that it had switched hands since he had visited last and now played some sort of mainstream music. Reaching back behind him while trying to keep his eyes on the road, the vehicle moving down the road in a straight line, and the speed level, Kat searched blindly for the smaller pack he had brought with him and huffed a frustrated sound when he could not find it. Moving back to the position where both hands gripped the steering wheel with spine pressed against the seat, the lord stared out the windshield with a tight glare while hands made the leather upon the wheel squeak slightly as they squeezed and rotated around their hold. Can you get my pack from the back seat? There is a CD case in the third pocket. Any of them are fine to listen to. Enlisting the damsel's help, he implied that he wanted her to put a CD into the stereo for him because he was incapable of reaching the bag. He watched her as she got the bag, took out the case, and finally loaded a CD out of the corner of his eye without really paying attention to the road. Thank you. He spoke just after the strains of music began to fill the cabin. After that, the ride was silent as could be expected and they pulled into the reservation after Kat showed the boundary guard his license. From there, they drove straight to the office of the chief. Parking, he got out, expecting her to do the same, before walking up the steps to the door which he held open for her. He followed her in and instantly hardened when he saw the lady behind the front desk as she put some files away. "I'll be right with you." She informed them after a soft grunt while pushing the apparently heavy box to rest on the top shelf on the case behind her. Although Feylnx was standing between the man and the woman, it was the bloke that stood behind her who first caught the lass' eye when she turned around to look at him. Instantly, a bright smile lit up her Native American features and she moved to lean on her tall desk with her arms, orbs sparkling at Kat as she did so. "I heard you were coming back to see us. Got your usual cabin waiting for you. It's been untouched since you've been here last." Stepping back away from the counter, she ducked to open a drawer and pull out a set of keys while the man approached and took them from her with a slightly tight smile. Appreciate it. She did not seem to notice the slight aloofness about him because she held onto that ridiculous smile that would give away their history as lovers to even a stranger who did not know either of them. Eventually once the male had stepped back and to the side, she caught sight of the other girl then a look of horror flashed across features. "Pardon me! I apologize miss. I did not see you standing behind Kat. I'm afraid I was only told of one guest that was expected so none of our other houses are vacant..." Frantically, she began leafing through a stack of papers on her desk as if searching for a solution, forcing the man to pipe up. She won't be requiring another cabin. This is my wife, Feylnx. Moving till he stood beside her, one hand on the small of her back and the other still holding the keys in his pocket, the baron watched as once again the fea's face was an open book. "Oh. I did not realize... I had not been told... Married. Well, yuwaka{bless} you both." The previous bubbly voice had ceased and now sounded rather constricted in strained as the other woman observed them with tired, almost sad eyes and a disappointed face. Bowing his head, the man then made his way for the door, opening it for Fey so they could leave. From there, he kept quiet as they drove along winding roads till they reached the cabin in the far back of the reservation, furthest away from the rest of the tribe than any of the other holdings which was why it was rarely chosen to stay in except when Kat came. He unloaded the luggage and they took it onto the one bedroom house with a kitchen, living room and bathroom that seemed to have been added as an afterthought because it sat in the far east corner of the living room, as far away from the bedroom as it could be. All the decorations were simple and cheap; the house was just barely furnished enough to where someone could live there temporarily before it became too uncomfortable to bare. Kat continued on to the bedroom where he unloaded his clothes and stuck them into the lower two drawers of the five drawer dresser, leaving the top three for her to use. He pushed the empty suitcase beneath the bed and then set both of their hiking packs that had been brought along against the far wall. After he was finished, he looked to the girl and took a moment to relax his stance, breathing deeply before speaking. You may stay here and recover from our trip. I need to meet with the chief and council to let them know we are here and to learn more about what they need me for. I do not think it would take more than a few hours. After that I will take you to the store for food and whatever else we may need in our short time here. Pausing, he stayed where he was while waiting for her to acknowledge him, taking a short breather himself before starting the busy day back up again.

It was already so apparent the type of man Kat was, he was not the sensitive type where she felt as though she could make a comment about his instant protectiveness, without offending him at least. Plus it was alright for him to be protective and it made her feel a little more wanted, since he was so silent it was not as though he talked about his feelings often and she was not even aware of the male enjoyed her company. Though she was not going to waste time thinking of these things since it was much too early to tell how this was going to work out anyways. They both were still testing the waters which she did not mind since it was going to take her awhile to be completely comfortable with him as well. They had only started sleeping in the same bed a couple nights ago and that was almost expected right away for a married couple, though she had to appreciate that he had not pushed her right into the expected rituals of a husband and wife. As they drove he did not seem content with the radio station and with eyes still on the road he reached into the back looking for something, too stubborn to just ask her outright the first time before he was unable to find it and resorted to asking her. She reached into the back rifling through a couple bags before finding the right one and the CD case inside slipping a CD into the radio on the car before allowing the tunes to play out through the speakers and the already familiar choice of music was brought to her lobes. He thanked her and a small smile appeared on facade at the words. She relaxed back against the seat though her eyes were turned to the outside world looking over the scenery as it passed by as they were driving and noticing that it did not look all that different from the tribe that they lived in, perhaps a little colder though and a little more snow on the ground. They pulled into a large building at the front which reminded her off a campground head quarters. She stepped out along the walkway before following behind him and falling into step. Standing behind him as he asked for the key to the cabin she could not help but notice that the girl behind the desk was flirting with him, batting her eyes at him and her replied with his few words that seemed so traditional for him, telling her that he appreciated that she gave him his regular cabin when she gushed on and on telling him that it was untouched since the time that he had left before, all useless information that she was sure that he did not care about. It was impossible not to see that there was something between them though she ignored it, she would not allow it to bug her, especially not when she was introduced as his wife and he once again placed his hand on the small of her back. She felt a little out of place between the two lovers but he accepted their key and they were on their way in a matter of moments back in the car and driving to the cabin that had been assigned to them. Picturing all the while the girls expression when she had found out that Kat was married. When they reached the cabin it was smaller then the one that they lived in back at the tribe though it was not bad. It was warm inside, much warmer then outside and it had all the nessescities. The bedroom was on the opposite end of the bathroom which she found to be a little strange though it was not big enough to matter. He quickly put his clothes away and left three drawers for her before announcing that he was going to see the chief and their council though he would be back later to take her to the store so that they could get whatever they needed. If you are too busy I can go while you are away, its up to you though. She stated gently waiting for her answer before her left and she busied herself putting away her own belongings in the top three drawers before picking out new clothes to wear for the rest of the day and heading to the bathroom. While it was not larger there was a bathtub and a shower, she deemed it would be nice to have bath while waiting for him so she turned the water on before grabbing two towels and waiting for it to fill up. A fragrance of bath gel was added when it finished and she stepped into the hot water. Allowing muscles to relax before washing her hair and conditioning it before wrapping herself in a towel and drying her hair. She slipped on a dark pair of jeans and a long sleeve black t-shirt before blow drying and straightening her hair feeling a little better now that she felt clean. She wandered a little more around the house feeling restless before then settling on the couch and closing her eyes.

Dark eyes remained steadily trained upon her as she spoke, dome shaking even before the last of the words left her lips. No, I want to go with you. Quickly expressing his preferences on the subject, the man left no room for further discussion on the matter because he then stepped out of the door and into the light snow fall that had picked up while they were inside the cabin settling in. Although he would have preferred to walk the distance back down to the chief's office, Kat was in too much of a hurry to return to his wife regrettably waiting patiently within their temporary lodgings to bother with wasting precious minutes hiking on his own two feet. Instead, he climbed into the SUV provided to them and drove back through the reservation town, not even bothering to notice what was going on around him except for the fellow drivers on the winding road which were few and far between. Within ten minutes, he had returned to the offices and instantly shut down the engine; never one to worry much about social issues like what he was sure to experience with the receptionist now that she knew he was no longer single. Really, in his eyes their exchange had been nothing more than a fling that had done the job for satisfying him briefly and left his passion deprived free from any distractions on his last trip here, but she had thought it more than what it was as all women tended to do. Luckily, it caused him no grief and he easily walked up the steps to enter the building, but was not surprised to find that she had left during the time he had been occupied. Advancement down the hallway stopped once the door shut behind him and gaze swept the area as the man reached back into his memory to find the location of the chief's office. Within a few seconds, his thoughts provided the directions and he took a right to walk all the way down to the last door on the left where he knocked then waited patiently for someone to answer. There was some rustling behind the door and muffled, gruff speech that he did not feel as if he needed to listen in on before the doorway was opened to him by the oldest council member that he recognized instantly. Automatically, he bowed in respect to the man at the door then turned and did so to the chief before twisting his hand and making a respectful gesture against his chest that was meant for both. The chief bowed his head and swept his arm out towards one of the two chairs in front of his desk in a motion for Kat to take one of them. Dutifully doing as he was expected, the man sank into the left recliner, but his stature remained tense for he did not feel as if this were the time to relax at all. Even in the presence of people he would be most expected to trust, the male refused to let such attachment form. Only few in the world could ever gain his trust and men in power were the last to ever be among that number. For now, they needed him, but later, that could very well change. Unease and slight fear was thick in the air; they respected him only because they had to. Although they were the sister tribe, only few from their number were ever Chosen and when they where, they usually migrated down to Kat's tribe so they could learn and be among others who were undergoing the same bodily changes and challenges that went along with that. Therefore, the chief here and the rest of the people who lived on the reservation did not understand him or his brethren so they were in general afraid of him along with anyone else that came to visit as most humans were of things they could not comprehend. The council member took his seat in the still vacant chair; all attention trained upon the chief who now shifted in the red leather chair and cleared his throat to speak. "Thank you for coming here once again Mr. Cly. We've recently had some... trouble with a few old enemies coming into our territory." Teeth were ground together as the bloke fought to control his irritation at the older man as he spoke. Breathing heavily, he reined in his infamous anger then with hard orbs looked at the chief without blinking, stopping the man in his tracks as he opened his mouth to speak again. How many are there? What damage has been done and how long have the Cold Ones been visitors here? Speaking abruptly, he asked only the questions he needed answered then waited rather impatiently for the answers. "Two as far as we can tell. They've been hanging around the boarder, eluding us, for near to be a month. Five casualties so far. Two men and three women." Looking rather nervous the chief again quieted, watching Kat now as was the council member. Where were the bodies found? Vocals asked, emotionless while the others were obviously struggling to hide the fear and disgust. His impassionate attitude towards the subject was upsetting them; he could tell by the way their carotid artery pulsed and how they both shifted in their seats, looking at each other before looking back to him. "Northern border. Near the mountains." The council member was the one to speak now, taking up for his chief before the other man even moved to reply. Bowing his head, the Chosen man raised smooth as a cougar from the chair and paused before leaving. Thank you for the information. I will begin hunting them tomorrow once my wife has recovered from the trip. You will see me again when it is taken care of; as always. Walking swiftly out the door, he showed himself out just as he had shown himself in; heading to the car which he turned down the long road back to the cabin. Upon returning, the man opened the door to a waft of flowery fragrance and warmth. The air felt wet; moisture clinging still to the atmosphere and he could only suppose that the lass had taken the liberty of showering while he was gone. Rather loudly, the door shut behind him just as eyes landed upon the maiden lying on the couch with her shades lowered. After meeting her depths, the lord cleared his throat and clasped his hands in front of him like a bouncer for a club. Whenever you are ready, we can go. Waiting patiently by the door, he forgot about the meeting he had just gotten out of while in the girl's presence and was able to breathe some without taunt muscles. When she had shoes on and a proper jacket, he opened the door and they made their way to the car. He then drove to the local store and got out with her. First, he led the way and got a few things he would need for the outdoors hunting of the vampires then underwent a complete change in nature while he let her go around and choose what foods she would like to eat. When they finished, he paid at the register with a credit card then they loaded up the back of the SUV to take all of their purchases back to the small abode. Once everything was unloaded into the kitchen, he took off his boots and jacket, leaving them at the door before moving back to help her put the things they had bought away in proper locations. The sun had fallen by the time they were finished, reminding the bloke of the strange time change that they had undergone while flying on the aircraft. Suddenly, he realized that he had caused her to miss having a lunch and silently chastised himself, trying to shake it off with the promise of dinner coming soon. I am going to take a shower. Cook whatever you like for dinner. Moving off to the bathroom, the man hardly waited till he was inside the closed door before taking off his shirt and unbuckling the belt on his pants. He took a warm, quick shower and walked out with a towel wrapped around his waist to go to the bedroom and change into a pair of dark jeans and a white long sleeve thermal patterned shirt.

She had heard the door open though she was able to tell already that it was Kat by the way that he was walking. When speech was not used abundantly you tended to get used to the noises that the other in your company made and were able to tell when the entered the room yet had not spoken a word. She felt a lot better after the bath and was quite relaxed. Hazel optics flicker open to reach the male who was standing ready to leave and he uttered that he was ready when she was to go to the store. She nodded and stepped gracefully to her feet jacket was eased over her shoulders and arms were placed in the arm holes before she then paused to place her shoes on and head in the direction of the door behind him. He still looked a little tense from his meeting and she wondered what they had talked about, surely it would be about the vampires that he was here to exterminate. The familiar music played through the speakers and she stared out the windows to the houses that lined the road as well as the other buildings, it almost seemed as though this tribe was bigger then the one that they lived in though she had not seen enough to know for sure. She stepped out of the car when it was parked in the parking lot and followed him around the store to gather the few supplies that he deemed needed for what they would be doing tomorrow before they were then in the grocery side and she picked out food for them stuff that she knew that she was good at making as well as things that could be taken with them on the trip and such. They finished and reached the front where he paid with a credit card and she helped him carry it out to the back of the car before she moved to the other side of the car to the passengers side and slid into the door with the seat belt clasping over her waist. When they parked in the driveway of the small place they were staying she stepped back out careful not to slip in the snow that now lined the ground as she moved to the back to grab some of the bags and carry them into the house, taking her shoes off at the door and starting to put the things away in their respective places, or at least where she would remember where it all was. He helped her and they moved easily past one another in the kitchen, it was getting to be much more of a system between the two of them. He told her that she could make whatever she wished for dinner. Do you like pasta? She asked and waited for his response before he moved in the direction of the bathroom to have a shower. She heard the water turn on and she busied herself getting vegetables ready and placing them in boiling water before then cooking the pasta and pasta sauce. By the time she was nearly done she was sure that the aroma was filling the small area and she spotted the door opening revealing the male in just a towel. Eyes land on the areas that were not usually revealed by the clothes that he wore. A deep blush rising on her cheeks. She used the cooking excuse to turn back to the food and hide that. As it was ready she placed it in bowls on the table before turning to head in the direction of their room to run straight into him, a small gasp left her lips. Looking straight up into his eyes the feeling of hard muscled abdomen against hers before she moved back. I'm sorry. She stated quietly, eyes were glancing upwards to meet his, vaguely aware how close she was to him, body nearly touching his, she turned away though not allowing the tension to take over. Dinners ready. She stated, walking back to the table and taking her seat. She placed the meal on her plate before then slowly eating it, not too sure whether to say anything or not but she remained silent until they were both finished. She then gathered the dishes from the meal and set them in the sink turning the hot water on and washing them and placed them on the counter to dry. When she finished with that she sought Kat out and hesitantly grabbed his hand. Come with me. She walked into the living room and sat on the couch patting a spot beside her. When he sat she moved so that she was behind him, long legs stretching out on either side of him as hands move to his shoulder blades, she was able to tell that a lot was on his mind in the way that his shoulders looked rigid. Hands move in relaxing circles as she leaned forward to tell him softly. Just relax. Tense muscles were addressed by the right amount of pressure exerted by palms as knots were worked out. She then moved downwards along his back kneading the tension along his spine. Thank you Kat, you are a great guy and you treat me very well, I just wanted you to know that. And it certainly helps that my husband is pretty handsome. She told him softly continuing with the massage.

Advancement was drawn to a halt while the woman stopped him with her question asking for his input on the meal. For a short second, he stood between the bathroom and the living room; turning halfway backwards till eyes could easily see the speaker. Yes, I will eat pasta. Without another word, he continued on his way to the washroom, shutting the door behind him with his hip while peeling his shirt from his torso. The fly on his jeans was opened, but he paused the progress of getting undressed in order to turn on the water so it could warm up before he stepped beneath the spray. Socks, pants, and boxers were pushed off his extremities within the next moment; leaving him clothing less so he could get into the shower without worrying about wetting the fabric. With a door separating them and hot water to clear his thoughts, the man was finally able to focus upon the task at hand. Closing his eyes while hands brought up suds with shampoo on his head, he pictured the map of the reservation in his head, quietly plotting the route of travel he would need to take if he wanted to draw the most attention while at the same time appearing to be an inexperienced hiker. The most important aspect of his plan was having the vampires think him human. Not many knew that his kind existed and even if they were aware, only few had ever actually met any shape shifters and none like him. The tribe's deal with the spirits set them apart from the usual shifter species. It was not a lineage thing: not something that could be controlled, but rather sheer chance for each Chosen was handpicked by the spirit which would reside within them based upon the destiny that they saw for the child. Still, surprise would certainly be on his side if he was able to sustain the charade and lure the beats into hunting him. Judging by the amount of killings that these Cold Ones had been responsible for, Kat was betting that they were well fed and since the most recent body had been found only two days ago, he guessed that they would not yet be hungry for blood so perhaps they would be willing to play a game with him. Of course, they would not realize that he was not merely a pawn until it was too late, but that would be part of the fun. The tactics and plans were not what bothered him about this job however; everything played out perfectly in his mind and although there were sure to be a few things that did not work out as planned, improvising was expected. What worried him was that with at least two of them out there to deal with, they may distract him from keeping the lass safe on the trail with him and if she was in their possession, he would lose sight of the main goal and instead focus his efforts on saving her. With that little thought, the male was no longer able to think about the task loaming ahead of him for the next day. Instead, his thoughts were again preoccupied by the fea currently cooking dinner in the next room. Wondering if she was finished yet, the bloke quickly rinsed out his hair, put the conditioner in it then washed his body before stepping out to dry himself off for the most part. After wrapping the towel securely around his waist and gathering the dirty clothes up off the floor, he walked out of the doorway into the cold air of the cabin, not even thinking about how exposed he was in front of the damsel so there was no need to look her way. The mouthwatering aroma of the pasta that she was cooking was noticed immediately though and only urged the lord to dress that much after. He dropped the dirty clothes back into his luggage and left the towel on the floor by the end of the bed for the moment, deciding to take it back to the bathroom after dinner. Stepping out of the bedroom with his eyes upon the floor, Kat did not notice the lady until it was too late to dodge around her after his gaze had risen to find her walking in while he was walking out. Facade was just as surprised as hers when their chests bumped, but the gasp she let out allowed him to quickly regain composure while he stared relentlessly down at her. Instantly, tension jumped into the air as he breathed and his chest expanded to brush against hers once again before she had the chance to step back and look up at him to utter her apology. Without moving, he let her be the one to retreat, telling him that dinner was ready while she quickly gathered all that they would need to eat with. Quietly and with dark pools constantly watching, he took the bowl from her and filled it with the pasta she had made before taking a seat across the small table from her to eat. Regardless of how the situation how ended, its aftermath still clung in the air; her reaction fresh in his mind. Not surprisingly, they sat through the meal without speaking, but the usual casualness was gone; replaced by an electrical charge that was not entirely known. Cursing himself, the Native American tried to shut down the flow of his brain to no avail. Thankfully, no matter what his desires were with the woman, he had resigned himself to letting her choose what pace they would take and knew that even temptation could be resisted as long as the lass kept her intentions hidden. After a second helping of the food that was actually more flavorful than any pasta dishes he had ever made himself, the baron finally decided he was done and rose with his companion in order to hand her the dirty dishes which was taken promptly to the sink. Kat set about refilling his drink then had just turned to talk towards the small couch facing the fireplace when the fea surprised him by coming around and taking a hold of his hand. While only showing a slight hint of surprise, he followed calmly to the couch and then sat where he was instructed to; waiting curiously to see what she was up to. He left long legs bumping up against his while she straddled him from behind and clenched his jaw in reaction; fighting to keep from leaning back against the warmth that her body offered only a few inches away. Hands moved to lightly touch his shoulder blades, almost making him jump at the contact just before the essa advised him to relax. Easy for you to say. Even more ridged now than ever, the lord tried to lose himself but the reminder that it was her hands on his back, massaging the muscles into submission continued to brush across the nape of his neck in the form of her hot, sweet breath. Eventually, after a few minutes of her diligently working, the shifter began to relax in pieces as if shutting off bit by bit of the engine so it could gain its much deserved rest. After about fifteen minutes, he was like putty in her hands, leaning into the caresses and all but purring like a cat. Then, her vocals were released again, causing depths to jump open as he froze listening to her. Suddenly, the touch was too much and with his quick reflexes, he reached behind him to grab onto her wrist a little more tightly than what he should have, but the hold relaxed immediately once it was realized. You would not say that if you knew my mind. Turning around halfway, the drake met her gaze, holding it as he contemplated what to do next. Thumb slowly began to caress the soft, thin layer of skin along her wrist and his attention was drawn to it like a moth to a flame. Motions stopped and deciding, he lifted the arm to his face while at the same time bending towards it, leaving a kiss upon the sensitive area there right after the final slope of her palm where the veins were most visible. Your heart beats fast. He informed her upon leaning away, returning to rubbing her skin with his thumb while waiting once again for a woman's decision.

She was starting to get in the jist of things that he liked and didnt like, she did not like that she had not found a meal that he didnt like yet because she wondered was he just being kind and appreciating her cooking efforts and choking it down when he truthfully did not like it or was he just a relaxed guy that enjoyed practically every meal that you put in front of him? The pasta had turned out better than she had expected after she took a small taste test and wandered back to tell him that it was ready, it was then that she bumped into him and a small gasp had been released though she did not speak anything other then the sorry and turn back towards the table telling him that dinner was ready though all throughout the meal she could not help but feel that tension was in the air and she was not too sure what to do about it so she remained silent. After finishing and finishing the dishes with his help she moved back in the direction of the living room light steps carrying her boldly up to him as she grasped his hand. He did look a little suprised by the action though was too polite to do too much about it. She had decided now that she was his wife so therefore she would not be nervous about contact such as this one. He followed her to the couch where he sat and she moved to sit behind him. She was able to feel the mans muscles harden even more though she did not comment telling him to just relax before placing her hands on him and rubbing the tension in his spine and shoulders. It started out seeming impossible for him to be able to relax though persistence eventually won out and she could feel muscles start to slacken slightly and he seemed to be relaxing a little. After that it was not long before the entire shifters body seemed to lean into her caresses a smile crossing her lips, though he would not be able to see it. She seemed to catch him by suprise with her words when she told him that she was thankful that he treated her well and she told him that she thought he was a good guy. Wrist was seized a little harshly and for a moment instincts caused her to try to pull it back in her direction though his grip softened. He informed her that she would not think he was a good guy if she could see his mind. Dark eyes of the male met her hazel pair locking into gaze with him. She was not intimidated by it like a lot of people would since the intensity that the man usually possessed was borderline over the top. Though she had become accustomed to it by now even though he had not been living together for too long. She was all to aware of the grip he had on her wrist which had now changed to his thumb running along the back of her wrist and tracing small lines that caused goose bumps to raise on the back of her neck. She was sure that he would be able to feel her heart pounding and breathing accelerate slightly. It was amazing the way he caused her to be, just ten minutes ago they had been nothing more then people passing in the house and having dinner together and now all of a sudden she could barely muster words. He told her that her heart was beating fast and chin was dipped in a nod. She knew that she would not be able to deny that, and why would she want to, it was a good thing wasn't it? Who wanted to be married to someone that did not raise the butterflies in your stomach that around everyone else stayed dormant. Skin tingled beneath where he placed the kiss on her wrist even when he moved away. Tender expression dancing across hazel optics as he leaned slightly away and seemed to be waiting to see what might happen next. Shortening the distance lips were pressed to his. This was a little different then the kiss they had shared at the Church when they had been married this was not forced and not prompted by a script this was genuine. Lips were so light on his that it would be questionable to any one but a shifter with heightened senses if they had even touched. A stunning smile touching her lips as she once again met his gaze. Palm reaching out to run along his chest, even with the fabric there she was able to feel the ripples produced by muscles beneath taut skin. She was not too sure how he would respond to all this she still feared a little that he would push her away again as he had the night of their wedding, though she was sure that things had changed a little between them since that date. Pushing herself upward with her hands she moved backwards a little until she was no longer behind him but she was facing him on the couch. She leaned in hand reaching so that one arm wrapped partially around him, hand touching the back of his neck digit drawing patterns along the sensitive skin there. She knew that she was tempting instincts that were so deeply engrained in men though she did not care since she was much too absorbed by the way the situation was playing out.
