The boy was lucky that his mother did not have a prior engagement that night. Because of their financial situation, they only had enough money to afford payments on one car so although the eighteen year old had gotten a driver's license at sixteen and over the years had been dutiful at keeping it updated; he shared the vehicle with his mom. Usually, this arrangement did not because many problems until they both had somewhere to be at the same time. In that rare case, one of them was able to drop the other off or find a ride from someone else, but at all costs they avoided having to do so. They had built an efficient system of notifying the other days or sometimes weeks in advanced if the other had something that required the use of the car on a specific day and it allowed each to plan around that. Even if they never had any problems while sharing, Taelix still yearned for his own car, but that was something he could never mention to his mother. She worked hard enough as it was in order to raise money for his college tuition and if she knew that he wanted a vehicle of his own, she would work that much harder to make it happen. He was lucky to have a mother like her who would and did do everything she could to give him what he wanted and needed in life. It was just a little embarrassing to have to share a car with your mom especially when all of your friends from the football team had brand new or expensive cars that their parents had bought them once they had started to drive. Back when he had attended public school, the embarrassment had not been so bad, but once he had transferred to the private school thanks to Erixic where everyone was rich, the all-star had done his best to hide how poor his family was. Thanks to car pooling with Pirzi, it really wasn't all that hard either. He never invited anyone over to his house either; he would always go to his friend's. No one outside of his best friend knew what his living situation was like and he intended to keep it that way. It was better that they saw him as the star running back, the star sprinter, and the star forward rather than the poor kid who only attended school thanks to his mom's over protective boss/alpha who wanted Taelix to keep a look after his daughter. The neighborhood where Jones' lived was familiar to him because a few of his friends from school lived around the same area so he had no trouble navigating to their house. Parking outside at the curb, he cut the engine then got out to walk to the door. He knocked politely then waited for about thirty seconds before the door open. Expecting it to be his "date" for the night, an instant broad smile broke out across features, but faltered some when a rather surprised and suddenly very self conscious looking Ali opened the door. "Taelix, what are you doing here?" She asked, sounding a little frantic as she hid her pink unicorn pajama pants that she was wearing behind the door. Just as he opened his mouth to answer, Des came swooping in to save the day by rattling off a reply and winking in his direction. At first, he remained a little confused, but quickly decided that it was best to play along with the lie so he offered a nod and a small smile to Ali as backup. After a moment's look of skepticism, the freshman finally retreated back into the house and Des stepped out to join him on the porch. It was then that she offered an explanation and he nodded, walking towards the car by her side while twirling the keys around his forefinger. No problem. I hadn't even thought about Ali wanting to come if she heard we were going. Dismissing the subject with that, he rounded the grill to open the door for her and then moved to the driver's side once he was able to shut the door gently for her. After starting the car and turning the radio volume down to where it would simply be background sound that would not interrupt conversation, the bloke turned to her in a quick glance when coming to a stop at a red light. So tell me more about New Zealand. How long are you here for? Looking back to the road as they started to move, he drove in a relaxed style with his back resting comfortably against the cloth seats and his wrist steering the wheel from where it sat lazily at the top. It did not take very long to reach the bowling alley, but the challenge was finding a parking space since it seemed like every senior from their school had showed up for this get together. Luckily, just as he was about to give up on finding a closer spot and move to the back parking lot, a minivan pulled out of a parking space right in front of him and he was able to snag it before anyone else took the prime real estate. They got out and approached the front counter where he paid for both of their bowling shoes despite what she might say about it later. After obtaining a pair that were just his size, he stood off to the side and let her lead the way since he did not know who exactly had been the person to invite her even though there were plenty of people here that he recognized. As they walked, quite a few guys from both athletics noticed him and gave a holler and occasionally a wave or some sort of hand gesture which he returned without pausing to talk to them. He could mingle later what it was established what group they were going to be bowling with.

To say that the younger "sister" bothered her was an understatement, but she was rather amused as the girl looked horrified to open the door to Taelix dressed as she was. After pausing for a moment it was then that the New Zealander descended the stairs to take the door and make up the fake story before stepping safely outside besides him. He stated that it was no problem at her apology and she simply nodded as they walked in the direction of the car. She did not even pay attention to it really as to her it did not even matter. Despite being raised under a fairly well-off house hold, she was not too caught up on material things. Actually, she found life at the Jones' to be relatively nice with the exception of the additional temporary siblings but it would not be long until she returned home. The car door was opened for her and a smile appeared across her lips at this gesture. Thanks. Syllable murmured as he drove away. She was relieved that he knew where they were going as she still was not coherent with the layout of the town and was very capable of getting lost. Gaze traveled out the window, taking in the darkness as it dimmed the city even with the bright lights actively shining. Attention shifted as vocals were spoken and she paused when it came to her describing the country she had known since birth. Well, our winters are when your summers are if that makes any sense. She was not sure if he knew this, but it had to do with the location as it was below the equator and many people never considered this fact. Lots of places to hike and surf, loads of beaches where I live. Most people you run into are very relaxed and friendly. It's not too different from the states I guess, although it is definitely a more tropical climate. For some reason, she was finding it difficult to explain as she had never really considered this before. Yet again this was her first venture away from the home land so it only made sense. Recalling the last bit of his question, she thought it over briefly to remember the date as she had been told. I'm here until early July I think. They changed the dates since my arrival was postponed. She stated with a small shrug, she had lucked out that her ankle had healed quickly otherwise she may have missed out on the exchange program entirely. No lacrosse coach would even consider a girl with an injured ankle and Des knew she needed to give credit to the shifter genes as it had healed abnormally fast and she ended up faking it a bit longer until returning to her doctor. The place was packed which she had not quite expected and they walked together to the main counter. As she was gathering her money, he had already placed it down on the counter and light challenging gleam appeared in azure irises. A quiet thank you was uttered as she then found a pair of the hideous shoes in her size. She grabbed lightly for his wrist to tug him along as she weaved through the crowds to find a group of familiar faces. She could feel the curious glances that were directed at her as the connection was made between her and Taelix yet there were still many who were unaware of who she was but now wished to know. However she could care less at the moment, releasing his hand as she glanced from him to the others. Naturally, they did not need introductions as everyone knew who he was by now plus several of them sat at the same lunch table. Chorus of greetings arose and not much later they were starting off the first game. Tennis shoes were swapped for the bowling shoes with a small smile directed towards Taelix before watching a few people take their turns. I honestly have no clue what I'm supposed to do. She admitted in a hushed tone, strictly for him.It was not that bowling did not exist in her native country, it was simply that she had never before gone or participated in such a game. Could you explain it to me, please? She asked him with a small smile. Being competitive, she definitely wanted to outdo the other girls which did not appear to be difficult as they were too busy paying attention to the guys. Plus showing up the guys was never something she was against either. Grabbing a light blue ball from one of the racks, and letting gaze fall on the male in a light manner as she waited for his direction.

Listening to her describe her home country, he could tell that she loved the place she had known for so long and could understand her lack of ability to articulate exactly what it was like living there. The people around you more so made a place what it was rather than the landscape and the atmosphere and feeling of a certain country, city, or home was not something that could be easily explained. Never the less, Taelix found himself curious about New Zealand and now more than ever he wished he could see the country so he could know of what she spoke and relate to her description better. She shifted the subject a little to answer the second question that he had asked her about and what was said brought a small frown to his features, but then he remembered that she had come to the United States on the athletic exchange student program that he had heard about when he had first come to the school and joined up with his teams. For him, the opportunity had been lost because he was a senior who would graduate before he would be apple to participate the next year and the application due date had already passed, but there had been one or two kids that had gone to other countries for school and sports. Both left the week after he started school at Leonard's so it only made sense that if Desyx was just now arriving in the states that her trip had been postponed. Why did they change the date, if you don't mind me asking. Glancing across the console at her, the bloke gauged whether she seemed upset about the subject or not and judging by what he saw, the lass was completely collected and perhaps a little bored of the talk. Pretty soon, they pulled up at the bowling alley and were able to walk in after finally finding a parking spot. Broad grin met her thank you as he paid for her play time and shoes and he quickly brushed it off by telling her that it was no problem though he felt a strange sort of satisfaction at managing to pay for her before she was able to pay for herself. The next moment, her hand was latched to his wrist and pulling him gently down the center walkway in search of their friends. As people looked their way, he smiled back and waved at a few. He noticed the interested looks that plenty of people shot the exchange student leading him, but found it rather amusing that she had only been around for a few days and had already established herself as one of the hottest topics on campus. He was pleased to see many of his usual lunch friends at the lanes where they stopped and after shaking hands, giving high fives, and exchanging hugs with those who greeted him, he took a seat beside the woman and switched out his shoes as well, tucking the tennis shoes that he had worn there underneath the seat where he was sitting and stuck his car keys into one of the toes. His eyes were trained on the others as they took their turns and trashed talked a little, but the essa's vocals instantly drew his focus from them. Amused, he smirked at her before letting out a short bit of laughter. You've never played before and you were the one to invite me? He asked her, a teasing tone to his words and a playful glint in his eyes. Flashing a fabulous grin, he stood when she did and nodded, moving along with her towards the rack as she went to pick out which ball she wanted to use. Of course. Moving to stand beside her, he kept his gaze trained upon her then held up his hands as if he was holding an imaginary ball, one underneath and one of the side. Ok so what you want to do when you roll the ball is to swing your arm back a little, then bring it forward while keeping your wrist straight. If you don't keep your wrist straight, you lose power to your roll and the ball will most likely go to the gutter. Swinging his arm back and bringing it forward, he showed her what he was talking about with an instructors face before offering a smile. Now that you know that, what you are going to want to do as you approach is use the lack of friction between your shoes and the waxed floor to slide towards the lane and use the momentum to push your ball forward faster. Oh and bend down a little as you go to roll it like this. Demonstrating what he told her once again while tying it all into one fluid motion without the sliding, the lad shot her a smile and straightened after a moment, his hands calmly at his sides. Do you want me to help you your first time? He asked her, glancing up at the board to see that she was the next person in line. Azure pools came back to rest on her features as he waited for a reply. Part of him wanted the excuse to get closer to her even though he knew that was a bit selfish of him since they had only known each other a few days, but he would be fine if she told him that she was alright doing the first round on her own. If he did help her, he knew that eyes would be on both of them and wondering what the story was between them, but he would not allow it to be awkward unless she made it so. They were friends and though he found her attractive he would be fine staying that way. He would still get to flirt with her if he wanted to regardless.

As expected, he asked why her trip to the states had been postponed which she did not mind as actually this question had not been asked many times before. I broke my ankle last fall, so needless to say the coaches weren't too fond of recruiting me without knowing whether or not it would heal properly. She explained, remembering quite clearly the accident that had lead to the setback of her plans. Seeing as it had been a clean fracture, the possibility of it not healing correctly was slim but of course the recruiters never went against odds. Thankfully, they played lacrosse in the spring here so she had been fortunate since she was able to play as planned. Somehow her bad luck had evened out in the end and she though herself lucky to be able to stay in the states past school as that would mean she would be around for the summer months. For her, summer meant surfing which she hoped she would have a chance to do while here. She did not hesitate to grab his hand and then lead through the crowd to their group, completely ignorant of the strange looks they were both on the receiving end of. Friendly smile was plastered upon features as she acknowledged those she knew before at last finding the peers that had invited her. They did not look at all surprised that she had brought a companion as they all were within the same circle as well. After having changed into the hideous shoes, it was then she brought up the fact that she had no clue as to what was supposed to be done. Embarrassment crept onto facade in a slight blush which soon diminished as he then chuckled which lead to her puzzlement. Shrug overtook her shoulders for a moment before then nodding with a sheepish smile. A bit funny, I know but I figured you would have enough pity to teach me how. She stated in reply with a coy look before then striding with an air of confidence to pick a ball. Most of the girls were going for the lighter weights, of course because the color choices but Des did not even make a second thought as she grabbed a blue one that was mid-weight. Glancing over to her mentor for the time being, she watched and listened to the advice attentively. Following his movements, she then attempted them herself without releasing the ball, getting a hang of the concept. According to the scoreboard, it did not seem as anyone else was a professional so therefore there was no reason she should be ashamed if she failed epically. Though of course she was ready for a challenge, as always.Looking back to Taelix, she nodded with a smile as he offered to help her. That would be nice. Lyrics replied before then stepping up with much determination. She was well aware of the attention this would probably draw to the duo but she was beyond the point of caring. Already it had been obvious to her that he was well recognized around school as was she for the time being just due to the fact that she had come from a different country. Focusing from the ball to the pins she then did the motions as he had directed her to do so, releasing it to watch it spin down the line with a small curve as it then hit between the first two pins, knocking the majority until one wobbled alone. Fingers were crossed that it too would fall and before being picking up, it eventually fell as well.Feeling rather accomplished by this, broad smile was shot towards the male though she quickly moved aside for the next player. Sarcastic comment made that it had been beginners luck and sapphire pools rolled. Now that it was his turn to play, she sat perched on the chair with interest as of now she had the leading score but she knew that did not say much seeing as there was still much more of the game to play. As most everyone else, she was here to enjoy herself and enjoy a night with her new friends. Tensing as someone stood behind her and then put hands over her shoulder, she was quickly agitated as she recognized the voice that spoke to her in an arrogant tone. Des, does my mother know that you are here without supervision? Quickly standing up to spin and face Tucker, aggravated glare was shot in the male's direction. Obviously I asked her. I don't recall needing you to look after me as I am fully independent. I suggest you leave me alone if you do posses any part of a brain in that airhead of yours. She snapped with a stare, hand resting on one hip as she waited for him to make some sort of reply as expected. Though this time the dumb ass was actually smart enough to pay attention or use the girl that apparently he had come with as an excuse to leave. Quiet sigh passed through lips as she then sat back down only to get quite a few wide-eyed and bewildered glances though no one made an attempt to comment. In an attempt to act as though nothing had happened, the lass returned to sitting with her previous poster as she was paying attention to the game yet mind had started to replay the small scene she had almost caused not too long ago. She did not want to be thought as a psycho and now bit her lip as this was what many now thought her to be. It was just that Tucker had driven her nuts already and now was trying to boss her around which she was not going to put up with. Already it seemed as though things with her host family where not going well which she knew could be screwy if she did not figure something out.

Laughter grew even louder when she told him that she figured he would be one to take pity on her once they arrived at the bowling alley and teach her how because he knew she had nailed him right on the head although he was not helping her because he pitied her. No he had more selfish motives than that. Still, he managed to play innocent as he shot her a pretend hurt look before then smirking as he rose to walk with her towards the ball rack after agreeing to help her. Do I have 'sucker for a pretty girl' stamped on my forehead again? He asked in a jesting exasperated tone before getting down to business and turning his attention to bowling. Brow rose a little at her ball choice, but he did not say anything quite yet, instead choosing to wait to see how she handled the medium weighted ball before taking the possibility of offending her by suggesting that she use the lighter weight balls. As he showed her the motions and she mimicked him, he was surprised to see that she did not struggle at all with the heavier weight. Part of him had been braced for a flying ball like what had happened the last time he had gone with a group bowling and one of the girls decided she would try to be impressive by choosing a ball that was too heavy for her. After he had finished his explanation and asked if she wanted help, one of the people from their group called over to her to tell her that it was her turn while he waited for her reply. When she accepted his offer, he could not help the smile that jumped immediately onto his lips as he went with her towards the lane. Ignoring the facial expressions and gestures that his buddies made towards him as he did so, the bloke stepped up behind her and put one hand high enough up on her hip to where she would not turn around and smack him and extended his other hand to rest on top of hers where she gripped the ball. Smooth and easy. He reminded her in her ear, smiling despite himself as he tried to not enjoy being around her too much. Although he came up to help her, most of the bowling she did herself and he stepped back afterwards to watch as the ball rolled down the lane to knock down all of the pins in the end. Instantly, he mouth dropped open in shock and he began to laugh, clapping along with their friends who were also whistling and making friendly cat calls at the girl who had bowled a strike her first time attempting to every play. As they all quieted down, he heard one of the girls behind him mutter to her friend that she wanted his help when she bowled too, but made no move to respond because any normal human would not have caught that strain of whispers. As Desyx walked by him, he shook his head, a smirking at her in response to her smug smile. Never bowled before huh? You're going to have a hard time convincing people of that now. Chuckling, he moved towards the ball rack to pick up the second heaviest that they had and make his way towards the lane because it was his turn. Normally, he bowled with one of the two heaviest balls although his human body would normally have been matched with a much lighter ball. In order to make the game fair to the other players that did not have a shifter's enhanced strength however; he was forced to use one of the heavier ones to offset his power though it really did not end up helping much. Those that were among their group that had bowled with him before groaned and rolled their eyes as he stepped up onto the boards and one of the football players spoke up just loud enough for him to hear. No one told me Lix was going to be bowling with us. I would have ditched ya'll for the nerds. At least around them I have a chance of winning. Smirking although his back was turned towards his buddy, he pretended to have not heard what was said and he made his swing and rolled a strike just like the girl had before him. Shooting a grin that went straight to his friend that had made the comment after the chorus of groans had finished, he walked up to him and put his arm on the other guys shoulder smiling confidently as he spoke directly to his teammate. That one was for you, Matt. Laughing he pushed the other guy lightly in the shoulder before looking to where Desyx was sitting frowning upon seeing that Tucker had come up behind her and was bothering her. Her reply was heard loud and clear by the group and made quite a few eyebrows go up as they all looked towards her. All the effect it had on Taelix was spike his angry streak and suddenly cause his fingers to flexed because he yearned for the chance to punch the punk right in the nose. Seeing that everyone was paying attention to them now instead of the game, the boy was smart and departed rather quickly and as he did so everyone started up conversation again as if trying to pretend that they had not heard the conflict. Slowly, the lad made his way over to her and took a seat by her side in the chair that his shoes were resting under, glancing over in her direction with a soft grin. Hey it's not as bad as you think. He told her, referring to all the attention that their classmates had shown the conflict. At least you haven't pinned him to a wall and threatened to mess up that face of his. Vocals joked, remembering what his buddies had said to him after he had done just that to Revikr upon learning that the bastard had gotten back with Pirzi. Relaxing into his seat, he banished the thought and lifted his arms to rest them on the backs of the chairs, looking once more over to her while keeping his voice low still so no one else could hear what they were talking about. Has he stopped bothering you since you met him? He asked a bit sarcastically while containing his temper. Guys like Tucker really should not be allowed out in society. They should remained locked in their house where they could rot until they died in his opinion.

Naturally, she was only joking around with him when she stated she figured he would be willing to take pity on her. Irises rolled at the innocent look he gave her and raising an eyebrow at the rhetorical question. Real cute, Taelix. I'll take that as a compliment. She uttered before they took their place at the top of the lane. Unlike how most of the other girls would have struggled with the heavier ball, she did not even falter as she followed through the motions to send it down the lane. Taelix respected her space which was another reason why she had asked for his instruction as well as aid since he never concerned her as the type to overstep his boundaries. Devious smile crossed lips as he uttered the words into her ear just as she released the ball at last. Many were impressed to see the strike for her first go round and a quiet round of applause went through part of their group which caused her to laugh good-naturedly. Catching the envious stares of a pair of girls, she remained oblivious to them as Taelix told her that it was not convincing that she had never bowled before. Appalled, she pressed a hand over her heart with a mockingly shocked expression. Clearly I had an excellent teacher.Teasing statement was made before sitting back in her seat from earlier. Interested to witness Taelix's own abilities, she glanced toward the other that made the comment that he would not have played knowing Taelix was. Curious now, Des perked to watch although was soon disturbed. Attention was lost as Tucker decided to try to make a scene of himself which was something she was entirely against. Irritation was an immediate reaction to the male who had done nothing but been on her nerves practically since she'd stepped off the plane and into this country for the first time. Never letting him get away with anything, she quickly fired back a response to stand her ground. Like the coward he was, Tucker soon left but still she remained in a rather sour mood. Biting her lip as she sat back down, there was an awkward silence before conversation among the others caught on again and she was quiet. Looking up only as she heard Taelix speak, small smile crossed features with a shrug. I don't want to seem like some psycho. She murmured only loud enough for him to hear. Soft laugh echoed out at the comparison he made, then remembering that she had witnessed him doing something similar at school. True, although it is quite tempting... Lyrics uttered, though she had a different plan in mind to start messing around with her antagonist. Sure the plan had its downfalls but she was positive that she would not face those. By now, the rest of the group was back to normal and not paying much attention to them and she met his gaze with a small nod. Not really, though I'm pretty sure that it'll change soon. She informed him, tones having an underlying meaning as she was still considering her scheme. There was a game she could play and she was quite confident about being the winner. Clearly she was underestimated by her host family's son, which he would soon find out. Many times she found herself to be the long shot in someone else's point of view but this only blinded them as she almost always had the element of surprise. As she heard her name mentioned, she realized it was once again her turn to bowl. This time she went without her helper and still held the previous air of confidence as she released the ball. However she was able to get the majority of the pins and as well as pick up the spare. Cocky expression crossed her facade as she walked passed Taelix to sit down. The game continued and by the end, many were bickering over who had won and who got robbed from their score. A girl named Lexi had started talking with Desyx throughout the course of the game and both were rolling their eyes at the smack talk going around. What's with you and Taelix? The question was blurted out as soon as he had disappeared from hearing distance and she shook her head, looking thoroughly confused. Nothing. I invited him; as a friend. She mumbled in reply but now knowing that Lexi would probably not be the only one suspicious after tonight. It was only normal for the recent foreign exchange student and track superstar to draw attention of course. Soon the subject was dismissed aloud but was not fully vanished from her thoughts as she knew what was on the mind of her subconscious.

Eyes were rolled at her mock display of shock when he told her that no one would believe that she had never bowled before and the words that followed this little scene. Lifting his hand, he wagged his finger at her and did his best disapproving professor look. Now now, flattery will get you no where Miss Desyx. Vocals teased in her a jokingly serious tone before he turned away to retrieve his ball from the rack. But I'll take that as a compliment. He finished up as he passed her, smirking and rather pleased with himself at having returned the words she had said to him earlier. Once he stepped past her, his mind focused completely on the game at hand though he was able to catch the comments that his friends were making behind his back. With a grin, he bowled a strike without really trying and then made his come back to his friend just before everyone's attention shifted to the new girl and the son of her host family. Though everyone else seemed to be avoiding her gaze, Taelix easily looked directly at her while walking her way to take the seat beside her, knowing that it was pointless to try and pretend that he had not heard what had gone on between her and Tucker unlike the others in the group because their raised tones had made it to where anyone sitting nearby had heard. Chuckles escape as she told him she did not want to seem like a psycho and he shook his head at her, eyebrow raised at her as the bloke then glanced in her direction. Trust me. No one thinks you're psycho. Basically everyone in school has a problem with that kid. He's just stupid enough to channel all his efforts at you right now. Des then told him that doing to Tucker as he did to Revikr seemed very tempting, causing him to smirk and grunt quietly in agreement. In his mind's eye, he easily replaced one jerk for the other and found that he thought each picture equally pleasing though at the current moment in time he wanted his companion's annoyance to push the ticket a little too far so Tae could have an excuse to kick his ass. Looking back at her, his brow raised when she told him that Tucker bothering her constantly would change soon as she rose to take her turn bowling again, he could not help but wonder what was going on in her mind right then. It was obvious she had formed a plan in order to get the monkey off her back, but what could she do to the son of the family who was so graciously keeping her in their home and feeding her? Dismissing his ponderings for the rest of the night, he watched as she did very well for her second time and skipped out with a spare. Shaking his head at her as she shot him a cocky expression, the bloke laughed quietly to himself while standing to take his turn as well. For the second time in a row, he bowled a strike which brought another chorus of groans from his friends. Laughing, he was quickly engaged in an argument with one of the basketball players in the group and therefore did not return to the chair he had claimed beside Desyx's. Glancing over at her, a while later, he saw that another girl named Lexi had taken his typical spot so he took the one she had vacated up near the front of the alley, easily conversing with everyone else. The game was over pretty quickly and per usual he was declared the winner by the computer though plenty of his friends were contesting that he had somehow cheated and should not be included in the final scores. For a while, their play argument went on with the girls nearby trying to get all the boys to let it go, but it did eventually end when one of his teammates on the football team managed to wrap him up in a head lock, leaving him incapacitated unless he wanted to expose his super human strength and unleashing that secret just did not seem worth it. "Admit you cheated and I won." The lad said triumphantly while Taelix shot him a look out of the corner of his eye. I didn't cheat, but you can say you won. I'll just kick your ass another time. He replied defiantly and though this went on for a time, eventually they all got bored of the situation and he was released from the strong man hold. Hand rubbed the back of his neck and he glared at his friend while everyone else got busy taking off the bowling shoes and switching them for their normal ones. He noticed that his original chair had been emptied so he moved to sit in it and follow what the rest of the group was doing. Hearing a beep come from his pocket, the boy paused before putting on his tennis shoes to dig into his pocket and pull out his phone. Seeing the message from his mom asking him to call her, he quickly put on his shoes and dismissed himself momentarily from the group to go to a corner near the concession stand to call his mother. She sounded rather frazzled as she answered the phone and told him she needed the car and he told her that he would be home as soon as he dropped off Desyx. Sighing at the night being cut short and once again wishing he had his own vehicle, he approached the group who were all discussing going to the local pizzeria for late night food so they could talk and hang a little longer. Someone hollered at him asking if he was going to go and he was forced to shake his head, only slightly embarrassed as he replied. No I got to get the car back. My mom needs it for some friend’s emergency. Shrugging, he was glad that his friends who understood the situation didn't give him a hard time about it, but he felt terrible asking Des to leave the group so instead he pulled her aside. If you want, I'm sure Lexi will be glad to give you a ride home after everyone grabs some grub. I don't have to take you back now. He suggested, taking a step back after leaning down to speak in her ear so that she would be able to hear him over the noise that the group was now making as they laid out their plans.

Gaze narrowed playfully as she was fed her own words, only then rolling her eyes to return to her chair. Soon after Taelix had bowled, she was caught in conversation with Lexi who Des found to be quite the character. The two girls got along spectacularly and each were caught up in conversation that they had to be tapped on the shoulder to become aware that it was their turn to bowl. The subject varied much and she found it nice to speak to Lexi who was not as brainless as some of the girls that had spoken with her before. After her scene with Tucker, however the other had quickly moved aside which caused Des to be uneasy with her own reaction. Taelix at least did not avoid her and brought up the subject which others were trying to speak about a little more subtly. He tried to assure her that the kid was on everyone's nerves which she could tell but she should have been a bit more introverted when it came to the confrontation but her anger had gotten the better of her. They both were in agreement on the idea of rearranging his face and she was sure there would be many more individuals interested as well. She had a plan to take care of the problem, hopefully, as well as stay under the good side of her host family at the same time. Her turn came and went and not long after Taelix had left Lexi returned to pick up their conversation yet again. When the end of the game finally came around, Desyx was utterly surprised and felt somewhat guilty that she had ditched her partner although he seemed to have found new company anyhow. Soon she raised a brow as another wrapped Taelix in a head lock and she wondered if it was getting out of hand or if they were still joking. Of course she was aware that boys would be boys but the last thing she wanted to see was a fight evolve out of playful banter. Neither of them were helping though as they continued to bicker but no one else made a show of it. Attention was directed elsewhere as soon as the boy was released, listening more attentively to whoever was speaking with her. They mentioned something about going out later though she was not sure yet if she really wanted to. She changed back into her tennis shoes and once more was caught up talking to Lexi who then asked her about what was going on between her and Taelix. She was quick to reply to this comment though thought about it for some time. As though pulled from a trance, she blinked as she looked up to see that Taelix had returned. Hearing someone ask if he was staying, she was silent at his reply as he admitted that he had to give up the car. Now it had made sense to her why he could not drive himself from practice as obviously he did not own a car. This was not something that was a big deal to the girl as she was used to walking or biking around the town at home but it was a bit different here. She was pulled from the group by Taelix only for him to tell her that she did not have to go with him but she shook her head. It's alright, I should get going home anyways. She stated, now wondering if Tucker would decide to rat her out. Checking in with "family" was such a strange concept to her as her parents were never home and if they were, they generally never paid much attention to what was on her agenda. And since she had forgotten to do so, she was quite sure that it would not take much for Tucker to make a large deal out of it and she wasn't entirely certain that she would be able to rely on Ali as an ally. Her only hope was that the Jones family was not too strict which they had never seemed to be to her. She stated a friendly good bye to the group and walked with him back to the car. Thanks for coming with me tonight. She murmured. When they reached her host family's house, she paused before stepping out of the car. I'll see you around. Sighting both of the Jones' cars parked in front of the garage she started to wonder if she would get a punishment of some sort or a warning but when she walked in they were not even concerned and asked how studying went. Apparently Ali had informed them and Tucker was not yet home. Perfect, all she had to do was keep that weasel's mouth shut and then she would be absolutely golden for the night.

Nodding, he accepted her decision to go ahead and let him take her back, but he continued to feel guilty about the situation and could not help to wonder if she was declining his idea for Lexi simply to be polite. For the tenth time that day, the male found himself wishing he had his own vehicle so that he could continue to be around his friends and give Desyx more time to get to know everyone and develop her own friendships if she wanted, but for now he knew he would simply have to deal with not being able to have as much freedom to do with his nights as he wished like his friends. His mother certainly could not afford to buy another car, not while she was saving every spare penny that she ever earned to put into a college fund for him. Though they both were highly expecting quite a few scholarship offers to come in within the next couple of months as the time when high school graduates signed with whatever college team they wanted to play for, his mother was always the typical common sense woman and refused to listen to him when he told her that he did not care where he went and that he would just go somewhere that offered him a full ride. She, being the loving, over protective, sometimes suffocating mother that she was wanted him to go to the best school regardless of how much money they offered for him to attend. Sometimes he wondered if she pushed him as hard as she did because she regretted not going to college and furthering her education, but he never had the courage to actually ask. Within the next few minutes, they said goodbye to their friends and then made their way out to the parking lot. Once they had parted with the others, the girl then thanked him for coming with her while he was preoccupied digging the keys out of his pocket. Despite his current task, he paused with his hand in his pocket and looked at her with a genuine smile, hoping he did not look too silly while offering his sincere reply. It was my pleasure. I feel privileged to have been able to see you beat quite a few people your first time bowling. Vocals teased lightly though the playful tone was dropped as he came around to the car and saw another guy leaning up against the door. Instantly recognizing Revikr, his fingers tightened into a clenched fist around the keys as he stopped at the back bumper, glaring at the other boy who shifted forward onto his feet and let his arms fall from his chest till hands could rest casually in the pockets. What the hell do you want? He asked, making it clear that he did not like his best friends boyfriend as if those assembled did not already know. "Not to fight so shut your cocky mouth Saunders before I reconsider." Teeth were ground together as he fought to not shoot an equally bitter comment back in return especially when the other teen who was well known around the school as a charmer sent a broad smile over at Desyx. "Look, I'm going out of town for the next few weeks. Maybe more than a month and I know we haven't been best buddies or anything, but I wanted to ask you to look after P for me. Even if you don't agree with us being back together I know that as her friend you want what is best for her and won't let her start talking to any loser." Within the next second, the lad whom the shifter had viewed as a rival ever since they were first introduced made a surprising turn around as he became suddenly uncharacteristically serious, showing Tae that he actually did care about the girl and was not just some jerk that was playing with her emotions because he did not want her to be with anyone else. Yea sure. I'll keep an eye out. Clearing his throat, the man managed a civil reply and watched the other as he nodded in silent appreciation before turning on his heel and heading back to get into his expensive car. Just before the musician did though, he turned around and glared at Taelix, setting the other's blood pressure up for overload with only one look. "Just don't get any smart ideas about setting her up with any of your idiotic jock friends." Tunes warned before he got into the vehicle, started the engine, and then roared out of the parking lot. Grumbling slightly under his breath, Taelix got into his own car and began to drive his companion to the house where she was staying, smiling across the way at her as he parked out in front of it. See ya. Have a good night. He replied as she climbed out though he waited till she was up the walk and entering into the house through the front door before pulling away and driving in a way that his mom would disapprove of in order to get home faster. The next two weeks passed by rather quickly and with the entire school buzzing with excitement about the four day weekend coming up, the male was quickly making plans with his friends from football to party and camp out at the lake for the majority of the time. Before anything definite could be hammered out though, the drake was cornered by Pirzi in the lobby to the hotel one day as they were walking towards the elevator to hang at her parents place before he left to go home with his mother when she got off work and she asked him to go with her to Los Angeles so that she could see Revikr. Immediately, he gave her a definite no, knowing he did not need to defend his decision because she knew exactly how he felt about the other guy, but after some convincing and a little pleading which included her telling him it was the only way Ayrn and Erixic would let her go, the bloke agreed and was then told that she had also asked Jack to tag along, but that they still had a spare ticket. Getting an idea, he told her to hold out on asking anyone else if they wanted to go and then waited impatiently for the next day at school. He bribed Pirzi with Starbucks the next day so that they would arrive a little early to the building and from there he began to search the hallways for Desyx. At first when he checked the one where her locker was, he did not see her, but once the rather plump girl whose locker was right beside the lacrosse players closed hers and left, he was able to see her clear as day choosing her books for the day. Instantly putting on a smile, he cross the distance between them and hoped that he could pull off enough charm to convince her to accept the offer he was now going to give her. Hey there. He greeted her casually, leaning up against the lockers while taking a sip from his white chocolate mocha to give enough of a pause before jumping into the subject. So do you have any plans for this extended weekend? How would you feel about seeing more of the States and going with Pirzi, me, and our friend Jack to LA for a rock concert? We've got a spare ticket and it'll be free of charge. Plus Pirzi tells me Jack's dad booked a large suite in a ritzy hotel there for the entire time we are there. Wagging his eyebrows for some added playful effect, he anxiously waited for her reply, hoping that she would go with him not only because he enjoyed her company but also because outside of her, he could not think of anyone else that they could invite to go along with them.

It did not take long at all for Desyx to settle in with the routine of school here, nor did she mind the people she associated herself with and had become quite the social butterfly recently. Lacrosse was already going but the season was relatively short although she continued to dedicate herself to it as well. She was held in high respect by the team, some telling her that if she were not a foreigner that she would have had a good chance of being captain though this was nothing of a big deal to her. But the current captain did drive her near insanity at times she was able to focus her energy elsewhere rather well. Much to her original dismay, she found herself to be distracted at times by Taelix, scolding herself whenever she realized this. This was Ali's fault, and she knew it even though the younger girl had now seemingly moved on to a junior. Lacrosse practice happened to occur at the same time as track practices often and so she was conscious of jumping into conversation with someone so she would not be looking elsewhere. Nobody had asked her anything about Taelix since the bowling night so she considered herself quite safe for now even though they still sat near one another around lunch and between classes. The majority of the obnoxious guys had given up on the foreign exchange student, though Tucker was still bothersome to her. After considering her plan many times, she came to knowledge that both her host parents and Ali were gone for quite awhile where she was stuck home with Tucker.Devious smile came to lips at this revelation while hearing the music coming from her antagonist's room. Using her room as an advantage, she had the main door to the bathroom locked though the one in her room open. Perhaps this would work as childish as it would seem. In a rather easy movement, shifting took place to where body had been transformed into that of a white Siberian tiger. With a small sigh, the animal moved out the door and down the hallway to turn towards Tucker's room. The pest was lying on his bed, oblivious to the beast standing in the midst of his doorway.Recognizable sapphire pools were lit with the determination of being able to get revenge. Only once she was next to the bed did she realize that the teenager was sleeping, this making the plan better as deep growl rumbled out. Teeth were barred as now the other had turned over to blink before screaming like a girl after seeing the figure before him. He was scared shitless, scrambling around his bed like a fool though that was all it took before the animal disappeared down the hallway rather quickly. Taking no time to follow the rest of her plan, she changed in the bathroom in case he would come running or something similar. Hearing the whimpers, soft laugh echoed from chords to herself before lengthy saunter brought the fully clothed human girl to the doorway. Puzzled look overtook features as she saw Tucker to be shaking. What the hell happened to you? He did not even answer, and stared up at her with wide eyes before sputtering. Iii....It had....your...eyes.... Eyes were rolled, arms crossed over her chest as Des was totally ill at ease. Honestly, Tucker there's this thing called karma. And it very well could bite you in the ass.She snapped but was uneasy that he may have somehow discovered her secret. After that situation, they both had avoided one another and apparently he never told anyone as nothing suspicious ever came up. So, her stupid plan had worked for the time being. There was one thing taken care of. Days had passed and so she considered herself safe from Tucker's realization. At school she was lost when people started bringing up the weekend and she had absolutely nothing to do. The Jones' were not a vacationing family so that meant she was stuck here. No surfing, either as there was nothing even close around here for that hobby. Silently dwelling on this as she was at her locker, attention was soon caught by the presence of another. Hey. She murmured after turning away from the locker to let gaze rest upon the male. About to ask him how it was going, he soon caught her off guard by speaking first and after asking about her plans, inviting her along to LA. Of course she had heard of LA, well seen it on television and such. Gentle laugh rang out at the playful expression he portrayed. Considering this offer, head tilted to the side as she bit her lip. How was she going to convince her host family to let her go, unsupervised and with three other teenagers; two of them being boys. Though she was quite good at figuring situations out as more than once she had been able to slip past the Jones family rules. Speaking up as she made this decision, smile passed features with a small nod. I really want to go with you and your friends, although it would probably be better if I just said it was with Pirzi. I am not sure how they will react but I should be able to get them to agree; if that is alright with you? She questioned, still quite uncertain of how this all was going to play out. Though she was already anticipating the trip, rather anxious to get out of this town and away from her current "prison" of a home. It sounds like fun, I'll just tell them it'll be a good opportunity that my parents would support or something like that. She stated, already deciding how she would bring up the idea and lead them into agreeing if it were to become necessary. The bell rang to dismiss them to class and the day proceeded rather slowly. It was after dinner that she brought up the idea to both of the Jones parents, figuring she would have an advantage if both of their children were out of earshot. Patricia agreed immediately when she heard their would be supervision, Rick was a bit hesitant but quickly agreed as well since it had been approved by her parents. Ecstatic at this, she was in a good mood for the remainder of the school week; anxious to get out of the area for awhile. Plus she had a feeling that she may have a chance to surf if she could manage to persuade the others.

Anxiously, the man stood in front of the woman with his hands stuffed into his pockets, waiting for her reply to his offer while fighting the urge to tap his foot against the vinyl flooring of the hallways of their school. Ever since the bowling alley they had not really seen much of each other. Sure they had lunch together every day and talked plenty, but outside of school nothing had really happened. She had not called him at all to ask if he wanted to hang, but then again, neither had he. Track season was gearing up for the finals before it would wind down and he was therefore even more busy with practice though the coach did not seem to understand that out of everyone on the team Taelix was the last one he needed to worry about. Even without his superhuman abilities, he was perhaps one of the fittest guys in school and did a lot of working out on his own. He ran multiple times a day to keep his heart and lungs used to the wear and also ended up playing a lot of sports during his free time with his friends as well as swam a lot at the hotel pool. If only the entire team had his work ethic they would be an unstoppable force at the state competition and would come home with nearly all of the trophies. Practice was not so annoying anymore though thankfully because Ali seemed to have lost interest in him for the time being and was currently pursuing one of the younger track runners who did not seem to mind her flirting and clinging as much as Tae did. But of course, every time he saw the freshman, he could not help but think of the foreign exchange student that lived with her at her home. He figured she had been busy with lacrosse and had heard from a few friends that the team was building nicely and looked like they would do very well this season. For all he knew, she might have plans with the lacrosse girls this weekend, but he took a chance in asking her and was not disappointed when she told him she wanted to go with them, but that they should probably tell the Jones' that she was going with Pirzi. Grinning broadly, the drake could not hide his excitement while he stared across the space at her, taking one hand out of his pocket while leaning up against the locker nearest hers with his shoulder. Whatever gets you to go. We're meeting at the hotel Saturday morning early or you could see if you could spend the night at Pirzi's Friday. The flight takes off rather early Saturday morning and the concert is that night. We'll fly back down Monday afternoon. Call me when you get an answer from your host family and tell me if you need a ride to the hotel. Just then, the bell rang and they were forced to split up for the time. The rest of the week, the excitement in the entire school only seemed to build as everyone got ready to go out for the weekend. As Friday came around, Taelix got the call from Desyx that he had been waiting for and did as she told him. He was already packed by six on Friday so he decided to go to the hotel and spend the night there in Damien's suite with Jack. Although he was started to get a little wary of the older man and hotel co-owner because of the flowers he sent to the teen’s mother, the lad really did not have to worry about that now. Jack and he would have a good time playing video games and vegging out until the next morning when they met up with the girls in the lobby. Introductions were made by him between Jack and Des before Ayrn walked up and insisted that she drive them. Following her to the Porsche SUV, the bloke took their entire luggage and loaded it in the back before climbing into the back seat beside Des who got stuck sitting in the middle. How're you this morning? Ready for a long plane ride? Shooting her a bright smile, he started up a casual conversation, catching Jack's questioning look as the other boy looked over at him from behind the girls head. Frowning back at him, Taelix silently asked what he wanted before Jack mouthed 'is she your girl or what?' Glancing back at Desyx, he realized he would happily say yes, but knew that the real answer would definitely be a no. Shaking his head, he then turned to look out the window and watch the cars that they drove by. Upon reaching the airport, he helped everyone get their bags out with Jack's assistance before they started towards the gate after thanking P's adoptive mother for the ride. They had almost reached it when he realized that the main organizer of their trip was absent so he turned around to see her hugging Ayrn tightly before turning around and racing after them, bringing a soft understanding smile to his face in greeting to her as she rejoined them. Pirzi and Jack were paired together across the aisle from Taelix and Desyx and they both quickly went to bed. Knowing it would be impossible for him to fall to sleep, he borrowed Jack's new iPod Touch from him that Damien had bought his adoptive son and plugged in his headphones in order to watch one of the movies that they had downloaded onto the device before leaving for the trip. After choosing Eurotrip, he turned to Des, taking out one bud and offering it to her while holding out the screen for her to see. I'm watching Eurotrip if you want to watch it with me. He offered, letting her choose what she would do though he would not blame her if she fell asleep like the others. After three hours, their plane finally landed at the airport and they quickly got their bags from the claiming station before hailing a cab to take them to their hotel. After getting the key and putting their bags into the rooms, they all agreed to go exploring before the concert. At first, they all were enjoying themselves and having a good time, but then Pirzi excused herself from the group, making the man worry a little about her since he had promised Erixic before leaving that he would take care of his alpha's daughter. Returning to the room once it was time to get ready, the man saw that his best friend had chosen to wear a rather nice dress that accented her figure to the concert, something he would never have picked out for her to wear in that sort of atmosphere, though he assumed she only donned it because she wanted to impress the asshole of a boyfriend she had. Rolling his eyes to himself, he went with Jack into the bedroom they would be sharing in order to change into a pair of dark wash jeans and a black cotton v-neck shirt while his friend dressed in jeans and a Guns and Roses shirt. Smirking at the other's outfit, Taelix showed his approval with a quick high five before they emerged and then went down as a group to the lobby where a taxi waited to drive them to the concert. Pirzi had control of the tickets and he offered to take them from her to put into his wallet so they would not get lost once they were inside which she agreed to. They did not have to wait long for the concert to start and even from such a distance away the teenager could easily spot Revikr. Once the band started playing, Taelix was forced to admit that he enjoyed the music that came from the speakers as much as he wanted to hate it because of the other male that was up on stage. Despite his aversion for the kid, there was no denying that Rev had talent and would follow in his father’s steps to join the music industry. The shifter just hoped that Pirzi would not be ignorant of this and would be smart enough to keep herself from getting hurt with the musician left her again once they graduated and went their separate ways. By the third song, he was thoroughly enjoying himself with the group and actually was rather sad when the last song was played. As expected, Pirzi went after Revikr, hoping to get behind stage so that she could see him and they were left to fend for themselves. Knowing that she would probably not return to the hotel until much later that night, Tae turned to the other two with his hands on his hips, acting as if he was exasperated with his best friend. Well since our fearless leader has so rudely deserted us, do you guys want to grab some dinner then cruise around the town some more? He questioned, speaking with a mockingly dramatic voice for the first half before becoming serious for the second. They agreed with the idea and then made their way to a seafood joint nearby. Not such a big fan of much seafood, the man ordered grilled salmon with water. Jack was a little more daring and chose a coke with oysters for the platter. Once they were finished and had paid, they all started to walk along the street, observing the night life and different bars, clubs, and restaurants along the road that they were located on. About thirty minutes into their walk, Taelix noticed that Jack had fallen behind so he turned to look, finding that his friend was looking rather sick. The next moment, the boy was leaning over a trash can in an alley throwing up the oysters he had eaten. Rubbing his forehead with his hand, Tae hailed a cab to take them back to the hotel and got Jack swiftly to the room once he had finished throwing up in the alley. They made it back just in time for the other man to rush to the bathroom, slamming the door shut behind him before gagging sounds floated out underneath the door and the acid smell filled the shifter's nostrils. Wrinkling his nose, he turned away and moved to stand by Des, sinking down to sit on the arm of the couch beside her before shooting an apologetic half smile to her. Sorry. Guess seafood was not the best choice. Hating that the night was ruined, he sat there for a moment longer before Jack showed himself, looking pale as a sheet. "I think I'm just going to stay here for the rest of the night. Don't let me keep you guys from going out though. I'll be fine here. Got plenty of water to stay hydrated. Sorry about this." It's cool man. You didn't know those oysters would fight back. Smirking, he was pleased that he managed to get a laugh out of his friend before the other boy disappeared again into the boy’s bedroom. Gaze returned to the woman left as he debated what to do. He did not want to call a cab to take them back into the city when they could do that tomorrow and save some money in the process. Grin brightened features as an idea hit him and he rose from where he was sitting, a mischievous glint to his sapphire surfaces. Do you wanna go to down to the beach? Knowing it was just outside the hotel, it was the perfect place for them to go and they could simply walk there.

To be honest, Desyx was quite ecstatic to had the opportunity to get away for the weekend. She had not become very fond of her host family now as they all seemed quite strange to her perspective and she was growing tired of the suffocation among them. So it did not take her long at all to quickly agree to the escape that Taelix had unknowingly offered her. She was surprised that he had asked her as they had not talked much and she figured there were so many others he would rather ask but apparently not unless they all had other plans or something. Though judging by the grin on his face, she had a feeling he truly wanted her there for some reason which was good of course. When she stated it was best for her to say she was going with Pirzi which was just a back up to get her host family to agree with her leaving for the weekend. Technically they could not say no if her parents supposedly agreed, correct? She was then explained the summary of their leaving and returning plan, nodding with a smile before heading to class. Later she was able to convince the Jones parents quite easily as to why she would be able to go. Thankfully both Ali and Tucker had previous engagements so there was no possible way they could be wiggled in, even if their parents bought them tickets and such. The remainder of the week passed by terribly slowly, most likely for everyone since they were all waiting eagerly for the long weekend. She called to inform Taelix that she could come but had a ride and was driven by Rick to the hotel very early in the morning. However, she was wide awake just due to the excitement of the trip and grabbed her things before finding the group assembled in the lobby. Des was traditionally polite through introductions, recognizing Pirzi from the brief times she'd seen her due to Taelix. Her bags were packed in the back of Pirzi's mom's car and she was quite relieved that the trip to the airport was short since she was sitting in the middle of two teenage guys which could get awkward but thankfully neither were obnoxious. I'm great. Of course. She stated with a small smile, thinking of her last flight which had been almost dreadful. From the corner of her vision, she was able to catch the strange expression that crossed the other's face but decided to pay little attention to this as there was no need to get in the middle of things more than she already was. She grabbed her luggage and followed along with the rest to figure out exactly where it was that they were going. She was actually relieved to see that she had gotten to sit with Taelix since she definitely knew him much more than any of the others. At the moment, she was unable to fall asleep and glanced over as she was offered to watch the movie as well. Taking him up on the offer, she placed the bud in her ear and watched the comedy intently. The time did not pass unbearably slow which was nice as Des preferred for her feet to be on the ground for the majority of the time. It felt like deja vu for her as once more she had to go through the motions of finding her luggage in baggage claim and check things out but this time she did not meet strangers that she would be living with for a few months. This, she was very glad about. The hotel that they would be staying at was definitely luxurious and finally it was beginning to feel like a vacation for her. Venturing about the hotel, she quickly figured things out and was very pleased to find that the beach was practically right outside. She knew what she hoped would be on her agenda at least once during that weekend. When Pirzi appeared adorned in a flattering dress, the girl was then confused with her own choice of acid stained jeans and a t-shirt with a dropped shoulder. Maybe concerts here were a bit different? When she caught sight of the boys though, she felt much better and knew something else was going on with the other girl. At first Des was not certain if she was going to like the music but she was going to enjoy herself nonetheless but ending up doing both. When the show came to an end, the other girl disappeared which only confused the foreign exchange student a little more. Neither of the others looked worried anyhow. Amused expression lit features at Taelix's display of mock exasperation and then agreed with the plan to go hit the town some more. The restaurant choice worried her a little so she stuck with some specialty seafood salad they had and water. The food was very delicious and she paid for her meal as well before walking along with them to take note of the large city a little more. She found herself interested in the city, finding the nightlife quite entertaining only to halt when she had lost both of her companions. Sighting Jack leaning over a trashcan, she took a few steps further away and could not look as she personally did not want to get sick. Their little escapade was cut short as they quickly returned to the hotel and she sat on the couch and kept her mind on anything but Jack being sick. Regardless she still had to endure the sound effects and the smells which caused her to grimace. Taelix came over and then apologize which caused a shrug to roll her shoulders. No worries, no one really saw it coming. She responded quietly, wincing again as she heard a groan coming from the bathroom. Then Jack came out to tell them that they could go on if they wanted since he wanted to stay here for the rest of the night. Quiet laughter came from the girl at the attempted joke, raising a brow in interest as a suggestion was then made. With a nod followed by a smile, she reached for the other's wrist to nearly drag him from the hotel room. When they had finally made it outside, she dropped his hand out of realization that she was still gripping it. Honestly, this is what I've been missing most since I left. She admitted, inhaling the salty scent of the ocean as the path lead them closer to the sandy beach. She did not even think of how sad it was that she missed the ocean more than her family, not realizing how bad it probably sounded even after speaking so aloud.

Watching her laugh at his small attempt at a joke to make Jack feel better, Taelix could not help but to smile in return. It felt great to know that he could not only make his friend feel a little better about his situation, but that he could also make others laugh so that they forgot all the not so funny parts about different things. When he suggested that they go down to the beach that was just outside their hotel, Des' eyes seemed to lit up as she eagerly nodded and wasted no time in grabbing his wrist so she could drag him towards the door. Chuckling lowly to himself, he followed eagerly, wondering for only a minute whether or not they should grab their bathing suits before it was forgotten as they got into the elevator then seemed to race out the backdoors, over the wooden walk way, and onto the sand. She dropped his hand then as if surprised to realize that she was still holding it, but he thought nothing of this and simply turned to look at her as she spoke, telling him that the beach is what she missed most since she left her home country. Frowning a little at her, he thought that the comment seemed strange because if it were him he would be missing his family most, but no comment was made as he simply looked back out across the ocean and remembered his mother's vacation scrapbook that she had been keeping ever since he turned ten years old. My mother loves the beach too. She told me our house was a mile away from the coast when we lived in South Africa. I don't remember it much, but she talks about wanting to go back a lot and she's got plenty of pictures of where we used to live. Continuing to look out at the water made dark by the absence of sunlight, he wondered once again if his mother loved the ocean so much because it reminded her of the time she spent with his father when they met in South Africa. He thought again of the flowers and Damien and his anger flared up inside of him again though he attempted to hide it. How ridiculous was he being? Of course his mother would not love the ocean simply because of one man that left her alone while she was three months pregnant. That was his romantic side talking. The one that wished like a little child that his parents would run into each other again and realize that they have always loved each other and were meant to be together. Casting off the thought with a shake of his head, the shifter turned to his companion with a mischievous smile. Well what are we just standing here for? He asked her before he took a few steps away and stripped his shirt from his body. The warm night air kissed his skin and he shivered though it was not even close to cold. Next, he worked the button and zipper on his pants to push them down his legs while at the same time kicking off the tennis shoes and pulling off his socks. Glancing back at her momentarily to shoot a wink, he then raced towards the water, letting out a loud holler as he went in waist deep, grinning like a fool with his hands lifted to the sky. One wave crashed against his chest and the salty water splashed up into his face, forcing him to close his eyes to avoid having the liquid sting his sensitive tissues. Once he was past the more violent waves, he turned around and looked at the foreign exchange student, lifting his hand to urge her out into the water, curious to see if she would join him or not. It feels great! He yelled across the space between them, flashing a brilliant grin as he scooped at the water with his hand and caused it to splash his chest and face again.

She felt like a little kid, getting so excited just to get a chance to see the ocean again. Well it had always been a hobby of hers whenever she got the chance so now it was only natural. The adrenaline rush she got while surfing was incomparable and she felt as though she had been deprived of it only though it had been a matter of weeks. Now she was not even sure if she would get an opportunity while they were in Los Angeles but she would survive as the city itself proved very entertaining alone. She was much too distracted to even consider the possibility of swimsuits and her friend never interrupted by confronting with the logical idea although it was not that big of a deal. True statement was admitted out loud, only to catch the small frown that crossed his own features and pause to think of what exactly to say though she stopped herself. Small smile was shown to him in turn when he stated that his mother loved the beach as well and she was explained a little more of where he once lived. He always spoke of his mother, never his father so she had come to the assumption that there was no father in the picture for his family and she could quickly tell by the way he spoke of his mother that the two were very close. This made Des slightly envious but she knew work was more important than family to her parents. She had been very excited to be close to having a family here in the states, even if for a few months but the Jones family were not quite what she had wanted. However, she was enjoying every other aspect of her stay. Both were quite silent but this was distracted by the soothing sounds of the waves as they fell upon the beach. Glancing over to find him seemingly angered about something, she hesitated but gently rested a hand against his arm. Saying nothing as she was unaware of what was causing this internal flare, there was a moment before he then looked over with a wicked smile that caused one of her eyebrows to arch with interest. Hand quickly retreated back to her side as he then stepped away, obviously making some sort of move to advance to the water though she took a moment not to stare as he was soon stripped down to his boxers and winking at her before dashing into the ocean. With a laugh, she then took off her shirt and jeans and put them in a pile where they would not get wet. Flip flops were slipped off as well. Des was not overly humble about just being in the polka dot patterned bra and matching panties as they truly did cover more than most swimsuits as it was. Plus she was not really self conscious and it was just between her and Taelix. Hearing him trying to coax her in, she shook her head slightly before simply sprinting in until this proved too be a bit too much splashing for right away. Devious grin crossed the girl's expression as she struck the water with her hand, aiming it in his direction with an amused laugh. She moved away rather quickly though to where it was deep enough to swim but she could still touch the sandy bottom slightly. Are there any set plans for tomorrow? And if not is there anyway that any of you would be open to learning how to surf? I will teach you. Swimming backwards, she then ducked under for a moment before surfacing again. Wading out a little deeper, she watched to see if Taelix was going to come out further or not.

He was so lost in thought that the bloke had almost jumped when her hand had lightly come to fall onto his arm in a comforting way. At first he was a little confused as to why she had made such a motion, but then he realized that she must be receiving the vibe that his thoughts had caused him to send out and he felt resentful of her recognizing the anger and need. Moving away slightly to disguise his reaction to her concern, he shot her that playful smile and began to strip before racing out into the water and taunting her to come join him. Grin grew wider as the lass reacted by laughing and instantly following his lead, pleasing him with the lack of hesitation she seemed to exhibit even though doing as he had challenged her to meant getting nearly naked in front of him. Even though the bloke had been prepared for the flat stomach and toned thighs that every athletic girl exhibited, he had not been ready to see the polka dotted underwear that her tan body proudly sported as she sprinted into the water. The sight made his smile falter and he struggled to swallow the lump forming in his throat at the instantly sexual thoughts that flooded into his teenage brain. It was only natural to feel like he was especially since he was at that stage where hormones were in overdrive and thanks to the fact that he was a shifter, the overload was only made worse. Thankfully, she was too distracted by the ocean to have noticed the reaction he was having to seeing her in her under garments and he was able to hide it for the most part by the time she looked back over at him, mischievously splashing some water in his direction before moving out deeper and further away from him while offering to teach him how to surf. Dark azure orbs sparked with excitement lit upon her face, an astonished and grateful expression flashing her way. I would love to learn how to surf if you would teach me. If there are plans tomorrow, I would gladly cancel them for the chance to learn. He replied as he moved out towards her, being taller and therefore able to touch the sandy ocean floor longer though by the time he reached where she had stopped moving, the water level was beginning to climb up his neck. It must be nice living out on the coast; getting to go to the ocean every day after school or whenever else you wanted to. The sea always seemed so peaceful to me and yet, at the same time, it could transform into a hurricane or tsunami and cause so much destruction. It's like it balances itself out, you know? Glancing out towards the vastness of the ocean, he thought about it for a little while longer before letting out a sigh and laying back so that he could float on his back, looking up at the stars and using his hands a little to keep him from drifting too much from the spot which he now occupied. After a long silence between them, the shifter glanced over at her and was instantly hit in the chest by some unforeseen force that knocked the breath out of him and caused him to stand back on his feet. Every other time he had ever looked at her, the lad hadn't been able to ignore the attraction for she was a very pretty girl, but just then, with the sea water clinging to her skin and making her chocolate hair seem almost black, even in the darkness she could be considering nothing, but beautiful. Seemingly mesmerized, before he could gather enough sense to control himself, he closed the space between them and with a light hand sliding onto her cheek, he bent to place a gentle, but firm kiss on her lips. Once he pulled away, Taelix instantly realized what had just happened and his face twisted in apology. God, I'm so sorry Desyx. I didn't.... You were just... I couldn't.... Frustrated, he stopped trying to make excuses and waited for the repercussions, praying that his foolish action wouldn't make things awkward between them and entertaining a small hope in the back of his mind that she would maybe welcome the affection.
