He was sure that in a sober state that he would be embarrassed about the words that he was sure that just came from his mouth though his attention span was less then that of a flies right now and he was not coherent enough to even know that he might have said something. Between the pain and the drugs he was not too sure which was worse, being in a haze and not able to know what was going on or being sharply aware of every injury right now it seemed to be fine to be oblivious to it all. As long as he did not move there was no white hot surges that ran through his entire body. He was able to hear her get upset when she did not recognize the man that brought him here and stated something about a german shepard and that lightened the mood a little since the corgi was no where near the fericious animal in which she spoke of. Though the dog did seem to have a decent enough growl to pass as something a little more scary. A small sigh was released that made his entire ribcage ache. Eyes were pressed closed since the darkness seemed to be the only moderate relief. Breathing was shallow and painful though there no no gurgling like you would expect from internal injuries so far he seemed to be on the clear in that aspect. Right now was not the time to take inventory of his injuries though since he would only become more aware of what was wrong with him and that would make it impossible for him to be moved so he just lay there trying his best to get his mind off it. The worst part was that he was able to smell the burning of flesh therefore he knew that he had been burnt horribly in the fire, how long had he been in the flames before the old man dragged him out? His face was numb though he knew that nothing was broken there. Ivories clamp his bottom lip as hard as possible to keep from screaming out in pain. The pills were starting to wear off. She then spat the words about his attackers being thrown in jail and a submissive expression crossed his face. No. Was the only syllable he managed to mutter. Of course they would not be in jail and even if they were it would not stop the horrors since they would still have power from their jail cells and soon there would be a new person appointed as leader. He had been close to being that person, one of the reasons he knew that now was the time to get out, he could not allow himself to get any deeper. A deep breath was sucked into his lungs. No hospital, they will put me in jail. I am safer now, I am free of the gang, they thought I was dead. He was starting to get a little more with it now, though with gaining his mind back the numbness that had washed over his body was starting to diminish. Finally startling emerald pools open to meet her gaze he did not try to smile though. She told him that she would be right back and he rested back against the grass, soon the small noise of a car was apparent and he was able to force himself back to his knees with her help. Glad that the drugs still had some affect and he was dull to the pain that would have come with the moving. He made it into the car, hoping he would not be ruining the seats. Don't worry Arden the pills will wear off in just over an hour completely. I did my research, its all that kept me alive, they would have continued if they thought I was just unconsious. The pills had worked their magic causing him to lay completely still and even his breathing had been reduced to a minimum looking as though he was dying. The only way to get out of a gang is to allow them to do this to you. If you live you are free of the gang. They thought I was dead when the lit the warehouse on fire. He could not even think of pulling the seatbelt over him. It would be much too painful. It was possible to see a large plume of smoke in the distance and the wail of sirens was also apparent. He forced himself to look away starting to feel sick. Eyes were allowed to close as he rested his head against the back of the seat. I am sorry. There was a pause after every word as if he could only manage a small amount at a time. 1156 Cimarron Drive. Thats where I live. I just need to sleep it off and I will be fine, trust me. He paused for a moment. Thank you, for everything. He then emitted a half hearted chuckle. Well I guess you owe me a date.

At last, he spoke another syllable, explaining that the men where not locked in cells for the rest of their lives or any amount of time. In her mind, they didn't deserve to live even behind bars where they were treated better than they should have been. It disappointed the girl that they went unharmed and of course guilt free after nearly killing this man and probably murdering many others and who knew what else. How do they get away with everything? The question was rhetorical, shaking her head in disbelief. It didn't add up, but if you knew what you were doing, you're capabilities of escaping were much improved. And if they did end up in jail, they'd probably figure a way to keep the gang alive through some sort of connections. The man didn't open his eyes as he spoke, which caused the girl to worry, but she had to give him the benefit of the doubt. But- She tried to interrupt and change his mind, stopping immediately as he said something about him being put in jail. Free? The word was echoed in confusion, unaware that this was a possibility. If he wasn't talking to her, she would have assumed he was near death as well. It made sense, for now. She didn't want to continue questioning him and cause him to waste his breath. I have a family-friend that's a nurse practitioner...just in case. She wont ask or say anything.. Vocals mumbled, leaving him the option if something was too unbearable to heal separately. A soft sigh of relief came out as he opened his eyes, a good sign and causing a small amount of worry to fade off. Together, they managed to get him in the car and she got into the driver's side. The clock on the dashboard read after two, the thought of herself having to go to work at five-thirty vaguely floated around her mind. Honestly, the woman could careless if she was running on caffeine in order to make it through her shift. And if they thought something was up, all she would have to do to clarify was say that it was family matters. The staff down at the diner always understood and never asked questions about such things. Privacy was respected. She nodded in response at the justification of the pills, now relieved that he had thought of taking them. That's good, I guess. They kept him alive and had managed to trick the followers of the fellowship as well. The breakdown of how to get out of a gang hadn't been anywhere near what the lass's own ideas were. She liked hers better in a way, the physical pain not being as great. Yet, there was no way to tell that her plans would have worked either, and if not, he would have been tracked down and possibly killed. Well...I guess I'm glad that they thought you were dead. Again, her voice was quiet, mind registering all of this in a tangle. As the car was maneuvered back to the road, she noticed the cloud of smoke in the distance. A small shudder ran along her spine and thankfully the direction was opposite of where the road was going. Don't be sorry...there's no reason to... She failed to come up with better comforting words than that, this ordeal still having her head completely frazzled. His address was announced and she was thankful that she had a friend near there, otherwise she would have never known where it was. Your welcome. The girl failed to see that she had really done much to help him, but she decided against arguing, knowing that would only drain even more energy out of him. A gentle laugh rang out in return as he spoke of what she owed him. Please Quinn, one disaster at a time? She swore he had no idea what he was agreeing to, but she was in the same boat if so. I can wait, you need to rest first. She instantly insisted. As the car was turned down the road where he lived, she hesitated before gaining the courage to ask. You're sure they wont track you down and make sure you're dead? Vocals were fragile, ivories grazed over her lip once again as the car was put into park. She was well aware that she was overreacting but the situation had scared her half to death, even though she wasn't the one that was in the midst of it. If she had been, she wouldn't have lasted two minutes, let alone the pain that was inflicted. Quinn's will and determination to endure everything he had gone through fascinated her, how calm he had gone through it all, no matter what the consequences and results were. I guess this is good night. The words followed quickly after a nearly inaudible sigh. She cautiously leaned over and briefly let her lips graze his cheek, being careful as to not hurting him worse than he already was.

Once he was settled into the seat his head rested back against the car and eyes were closed. He felt so nauseous and yet he knew that he had nothing left to throw up since he had numerous times one the way back from the warehouse. It was horrible and left a burning sensation all up his throat and made his head pound from the lack of nutrition though he knew that most of the drugs would be out of his system by now and he was starting to get a little more with it. The pain was starting to get a little more amplified though he promised himself he would not scream out in the pain. He would just sit there and take it. Every jolt in the road was felt and every movement of the car. Teeth gnashed together. Her words were full of disbelief as she asked how they got away with everything, he did not even know himself so he was not going to question it since he could not trust himself to be able to speak right now. With the wearing off of the pain killers he was starting to feel even worse, had he not thought that possible. He was not too sure if he was able to talk anymore. He managed to dip his chin in a nod when she questioned the word free. He was still in a stunned state right now so he did not really realize the full aspect of it all as of yet he was sure that it would hit him soon though. Maybe once he was a little more recovered. She then told him that she had a family friend that was a nurse and he shook his head, what would the person think about a guy being brought to her in the middle of the night, looking like this when it would be on the news about a gang shooting in the next days newspapers. He could not take the chance that he was going to get linked to it. He had fought so hard to get out of this situation he did not want to be dragged back in by the authorities this time. He was glad that there was no reason for him to get up in the morning since he was almost positive that he would be sleeping all day long and unable to get out of bed, he could only imagine what he would feel like once all the stiffness started to settle in. She then asked him if he was sure that he would be safe since she thought that they might come to look for him. He shook his head. They are true to their word, I trust them. They thought for sure I was dead but the deal is if I survived I was free to go, a very sick game. As they rolled to a stop in front of his place, he was suddenly glad that he lived in the basement of the large house and that he would not be forced to climb the stairs since if he had to climb stairs he might just camp out at the bottom for the night. She leaned over giving him a kiss on the cheek and he managed a small smile. Thank you so much, Arden. He stated gently before climbing painfully from the car. See you tomorrow?

He denied the offer of help once again and she sighed in dismay. He wasn't going to agree with her on anything to do with the subject of help. It would be suspicious anyways. She found it difficult to believe that such men would keep true to their words, but she trusted what Quinn said and if he trusted them, she would have to as well. A very, very sick game. She repeated, shaking her head once again. But for now, the game was over and he'd be able to recover hopefully. The sign of a smile crossed over the man's face and she smiled in reply, shrugging somewhat as he thanked her once more. It's nothing really... I'm just glad it's over. Tones were a murmur, watching him slowly climb out of the car. Yes, I'll probably stop by in the afternoon sometime, if that's all right? Lyrics questioned, not wanting him to bother coming to see her, not yet at least. He was in enough pain not to be running around. Chloe saw the chance and stole the passenger's seat as soon as the car's door was shut. The car didn't move until he disappeared into the house and the little dog stared out the window before curling up on the seat. Long night... Words were mumbled to herself as she drove towards the apartment complex. A yawn passed through the woman's lips even though she still felt wide awake. She was well aware that the instant her head hit the pillow, she would be out of it. The Toyota was parked under the permanent awnings that were outside her apartment block. She slowly grudged up the stairs, the canine pulling her towards their door. As soon as the door was cracked open, the dog bolted to the bedroom and leaped onto the mattress. She barely set the alarm and collapsed into the bed as well, too exhausted to even bother with anything else. Two hours felt like twenty minutes as she scrabbled out of bed in the morning. Everything was rushed, the cold shower waking her up more than anything.A small amount of make-up did wonders to help cover the circles that lurked beneath her voids. The simple outfit of a black t-shirt and black slacks were slipped on, glad she didn't actually have to attempt to match her clothes this early. Coffee was prepared and the lass hurried out the door and towards her car. When she arrived at work, Mariah must have noticed something was off so she let Heather cover the tables today and assigned me to busing, which basically meant staying in the back until people had finished their food. An elastic hairband was wrapped around her hair three times, keeping it off of her shoulders and out of her face. Girly, what's going on with you? Of course it was Mariah's voice at the cashier as Arden grabbed the dish tubs next to the podium. Just...lack of sleep. That simple answer was enough for Mariah except for her to mutter. Aye, well if you want sleep tonight, don't watch the news or read the paper... She nodded in return before hurrying off to scrub down tables, already knowing what it was about. The damsel was extremely thankful now that she was not waitressing today, seeing as then she would have to be courteous and not as spacey as she was. It was multiple times that a tap on her shoulder had been the reason she had to refocus herself, which was more difficult than it should have been. The seven hour shift was difficult, but that was to be expected. The six extra shots she ordered in her coffee helped her survive through it. Now, she was bright-eyed and bushy tailed, but how long that phase would last was a mystery. The thought of going to check on Quinn crossed her mind, but she wasn't sure if he'd be awake or not. It was twelve-thirty but he needed sleep. She decided to go and if he didn't answer, she'd go home and find something to do. Her stomach roared in protest after not having something for a long amount of time. She gave into the hunger and turned back to order two club sandwiches from the diner. Her own was eaten on the way to his house, the other was wrapped up for him for whenever he would want it. Strides were shyly taken towards the house, contradicting her ideas once again. Hand tapped against the wooden surface at last, waiting silently for a reply.

She agreed with him that it was a very sick game, but it was worthwhile if it meant that he was going to be able to live his life like a normal human being. It had been a long time since he had been able to walk down a street and not have to look over his shoulder. He nodded when she told him that she would come to see him in the afternoon, the walk to the door was long and drawn out though eventually he made it, hoping that the people who lived in the top of the house would not notice. When he slipped through the door he made his way directly to bed, without even taking his shirt off. He fell to rest and sucuumbed to the darkness within a matter of moments, before his head even seemed to hit the pillow. The sleep was not restful at all but he awoke in the morning feeling horrible, but he was no longer throwing up blood so it was a good sign. As soon as he had woken in the morning a phone call was made to a good friend, the only one he seemed to keep over the times that he was in the gang. Telling him that he needed help and needed him to come over to try to access his injuries. He was a nurse so therefore he would be a lot of help. He did not even bother to get out of bed before an hour later the man was knocking at the door and entered the basement suite. Stepping into the room his jaw dropped when he saw Quinn. The man was good natured though. I look that bad huh? Well patch me up. He said lightheartedly. Does this have anything to do with what was in the paper last night with the burning warehouse and the tell of the start of a large gang war? He took a moment to comment. Well the bastards left me to burn in the building after they beat me to a pulp but I am free of them. The other guys eyes went wide, he expected Quinn to have something to do with the news on the paper not to be the center of attention though. The other guy knew about the gang and he had been a true friend and not telling anyone. The man eased him to his feet and inspected where the clothes were burnt onto his body. The only broken bones were the ribs in which he had been kicked in the entire time. Other then that it was mostly burns and bruises and gashes. Once he was all patched up he had lucked out and the man had brought a shot of morphine in which he gave him before leaving him to rest. The pain instantly was dulled and he was able to walk again. He moved to the bathroom and filled the bathtub full of cold water, knowing he would not be able to stand the warm water. He stepped into the water after ridding what was left of his clothes and washed the dirt from his body. No soap was used since that would be too painful. Placing a burn cream on some of the worst burns he places a t-shirt over his bare chest and a pair of sweatpants. Soon enough as soon as he had put all his bedding in the washing machine he heard a knock on the door and stepped in the direction to answer it. A smile crossing his face when he saw the girl standing at the door. Hey He stated gently then stepped back from the door so she could enter his place.

She was relieved by the fact that he didn't seem groggy or half-asleep which meant she couldn't have woken him up. He looked much better now that he was cleaned up, it looked like a few injuries were wrapped as well, which settled her stomach a bit more. Hi. She said as she stepped inside besides him and a smile light up her features as well. You look better. How do you feel? Lyrics questioned, knowing all too well that it didn't matter what you looked like on the exterior when you felt horrible on the inside. The plastic wrapped sandwich was handed to him awkwardly. I wasn't sure if you'd be hungry or not. Shoulders were shrugged as gaze traveled over his home slightly. The fact that he was basically living in a basement didn't bother her, she thought it was nearly equivalent to living in an apartment as she was doing. So apparently the news got a kick out of everything. She commented, walking to the couch and sitting down, glancing up at him, expecting him to join her as well. A friend warned me that if I wanted to sleep well, that I shouldn't watch the news or read the papers... The assumption was made that the warehouse catching on fire had consumed the contents of the front page, which would not be surprising if so. The strange feeling of desire to be wrapped in the man's arms again ran through her mind but she paid little notice to it, thinking it would only cause him more pain. And that would not be worth her own ridiculous wishes. A gentle breath was exhaled, leaning against the back rest of the couch. She was surprised she had been able to sleep last night, too exhausted to dream which was a good thing, seeing as this experience would probably send a nightmare in her mind as well. And she would not want to admit the frightening feeling of losing him so soon after their emotions had finally been exposed into the air. The discouraging words from him beforehand had already sent chills down her spine, surely the dreams would awake her with chilling screams as well. Oh how the neighbors would love her for that. The idea of taking sleeping pills came to mind, wondering if maybe they would put her into such a deep slumber where she had no chance of dreaming. No chance of losing him simply in her head. She was way too attached, way too easily. The thought sickened herself, but she couldn't help it; it was just another of her multiple flaws. So now that this is over, can I get attached? Tones were teasing, an eyebrow raised in inquiry as she watched the man for a reply. The thought of him being out of the gang could now bring joy to her, but not as much as it would when he was completely healthy again. And do you have any plans for dinner tonight? She wasn't hinting at having him go somewhere, she was thinking of her cooking him something, but maybe she was smothering him. Ivories clamped on her lower lip as she apologized. Sorry. I'm being obnoxious. She spoke quietly and stared at the floor for a moment, scolding herself for being so childish. She was going to mess everything up if she wasn't careful, she always did as it was. Or so she seemed to.

He was wide awake and was not even tired, he must have been too tired to even have nightmares of being trapped in a burning building, he was sure that would come in time, the pills he took before the incident probably proved to keep his mind hazy and keep him a little more on the duller side. The sharp reality would set in over night when he was forced to sleep and knew the nightmares would come. He would get over it though he was much tougher the he seemed. After all he was still here and alive now wasn't he? And he was up and looking a lot better already and it was only 12 hours since everything happened. That was quite a feat that even he was proud of. It felt a little better to be moving around since whenever he settled stiffness immediately set in and the bath had worked wonders, cooled the burns to a manageable point and cleansed the wounds, not to mention the small shot of morphine in which his friend had given him to tide him over until he was able to come back and check on him once he was off of work. That would not be until the following day though since nurses tend to work odd hours of the night. The basement suite in which he lived in was quite nice. It was a very large house so he had a lot of room to himself and the family upstairs had just finished building the house from scratch when he moved in so it still smelt like building materials and paint and new wood. It was well furnished with a lot of things that he had brought from Poland with him here. A couple framed photos were hung on the wall, some of him graduating, some of him playing soccer and various other occasions. None of him with a girl though since he had never talked to the only girl he had had a serious relationship with before he left. She had cheated on him after being his best friend since they were 10 years old and forgiveness was not his strong suit not to mention he was too tangled in the gang affairs at the time. Even if he went back though he knew it was more then over between them and he would never be able to look at her in the same way. The basement lead into living room with a couch and on the right side there was a kitchen and to the left was the bedroom and a large bathroom with a shower and a jacuzzi bathtub, he was living life in luxury. He stepped back from the door so that she was able to enter. I feel like hell but thats fine I am still here aren't I? How are you though? He asked politely with a small smile. He was in good spirits because finally today he was able to bask in the freedom that his almost death secured the night before, sadly he trusted the males from the gang and he felt as though he was right to do so since the man who had escape told him that once they stated that you were free they meant it though he would see how it would go from here. Wow thank you. He stated when she handed him the sandwich, it was nice to know that he had been on her mind throughout the day, that of course would mean good things. Well hopefully. He looked amused when she told him that the news got a kick out of everything. Well, what they don't tend to know the true story to they tend to butcher quite well. I saw the news and it said something about gang wars, yet what they did not realize was that there was no other gangs present. After they finished beating on me their intensions were to light the place on fire and the police did that for them, there was a shot fired and it hit the gasoline and everything went up in flames. That place was where they played poker and hung out. He stated. He hoped that the small explaination would ease her mind a little and she would be able to take what the newspapers said with a grain of salt and understand that it was not all true. He took a seat beside her on the couch, leaning back against the soft cushions the morphine was still working well and dulled a lot of the pain so he allowed his palm to drop to meet hers and entwine with her fingers. I would give you a hug but I am pretty sure I can not raise my arms above my head. He said with a small chuckle. Without being able to help it he leaned forward lips meeting hers gently. You are free to get as attached as you want. He stated, accent was low and deep, words were uttered in nothing more then a whisper. As he leaned back his stomach growled and the sandwich seemed to be a great idea. He did not have to want to go get a plate since it was too far away for him to walk right now so he simply unwrapped it and placed the plastic on the coffee table and he would attend to it later. The sandwich stopped his stomach from growling and made him feel a lot better. She asked him if he had plans for dinner. I was about to ask you the same thing. I was hoping for some company. If you don't have plans. He looked to her eyebrows raising when she announced that she was being obnoxious and head shook. You are not being obnoxious at all. He told her gently eyes meeting hers for a moment before turning back to the blank room. Would you like to watch a movie? That was about the extent of what he would be able to partake in. He stood handing her a handful of movies to choose from. Sitting back down on the couch, deciding he needed to stand again slow steps carry him into the kitchen. Would you like something to drink?

The suite was more spacious than her apartment, and definitely newer. The smells of paint and wood were still apparent in the air. True. She replied with a gentle laugh before answering. I feel like crap, but I'm much better than you. The words were playfully teasing. She'd only suffered from lack of sleep, him a combination of that and getting beaten like no other. He was a happy camper now, so the realization of his freedom must have been a lot more clear now. The weight had probably been lifted off his shoulders and now he could actually be a normal person. He seemed slightly surprised as he was handed the sandwich and it made her perfectly content with his response. No problem. The presence of amusement was clear on his features as she explained to him about the news, which he must of already looked into seeing as he summarized their thoughts of it. Hmm, they're never very accurate with anything. The small explanation did calm her thoughts, the idea of the warehouse being burned to the ground was the most beneficial thing she took from it. That would be one reminder that was disappeared. She still didn't see it as fair that they had simply lost one of their hangouts, which they probably had many of, but it was out of her hands and she could do nothing about it. The male settled on the couch beside her and her gaze went temporarily to their hands as he intertwined their fingers. She reminded herself not to add pressure to his hand by squeezing it. Don't worry about it. Vocals murmured, looking back up at him to notice he was leaning forwards. Lids fluttered to a close as his lips were pressed to hers in a gentle manner. Again, the damn butterflies were present in her stomach, but she had little control over them and they really didn't bother her that much. It was just an odd feeling to her. She was relieved that he seemed to still think of her in the same way, not having changed his mind overnight or that this whole thing was some crazy scenario going on in her head. It was surreal to her, besides the issues with the gang and such, then it was reality. Good, because I was already too attached when you tried to make me promise not to. Her own tones were a whisper as well, a hand rising to touch his cheek softly. She let her hand fall back to her lap as she gazed around his home once more. The pictures of him caught her attention for the most part, each one explaining a bit more about him. He'd never said anything about soccer, nor had she ever asked him about the subject of sports. Mostly, because it wasn't her forte. None of the pictures had a girl as the subject either, which sadly made her feel confident, seeing as then she wouldn't be comparing herself to them. She always tried to compare herself, hurting her self-esteem more than anything. No, I don't have any plans. Can I cook you dinner tonight? She asked, turning back to him, seeing he had finished the sandwich. She was quite satisfied with the thought of bringing it to him now, pleased he seemed to have had enjoyed it. The lass had no clue as to what the man had been living on for food wise, so a run to the grocery store might be necessary, but she still had plenty of time for that later. A vague smile crossed her features as he told her she wasn't being obnoxious, maybe it was just her. She worried about ridiculous things like that a lot, and she needed to stop; she was well aware of that. Gaze met his for a few moments, face flushing slightly as he looked away. Sure, that sounds good to me. The girl knew it was about the only thing he could do, and she hadn't expected anything else. She glanced over the titles as they were handed in her direction, unfamiliar with a few. She quickly decided against anything horror related, wanting the possibility of her jumping into his lap slim to none. She noticed him getting up again and was slightly confused until he headed in the direction of the kitchen. Oh a water would be nice, please. The reply was said and she continued to look back over the movies, scanning the summaries on the back. Curiosity filtered through her head as she glanced over a particular case. So many people had said how great the movie was, yet she'd never taken the time to actually watch it. Now, she had the time and it would lighten the mood, seeing as it was a comedy. The other movies were placed by the t.v. in a neat stack as she fiddled with the DVD player, figuring out how to work it without breaking it. The disc taken by the machine and the power button for the television was pressed. The main menu for the Hangover popped onto the screen and she settled back onto the couch. The remote was placed besides her, index finger refraining to press the play button until Quinn was sitting besides her once more. A yawn parted the woman's jaws, hand quickly reached up to cover her mouth. No matter how her body protested, she had no desire to sleep now and she was going to stay awake to enjoy herself. Position was adjusted so she sat cross-legged, making herself somewhat uncomfortable on purpose in order to keep herself awake. She refused to succumb to the slumber that was attempting to lure her in. Perhaps a horror movie wouldn't have been a good idea, seeing as it would definitely keep her awake; but it wasn't worse than causing Quinn any more pain from her hiding in his arms. She would not sleep, she would stay awake and watch the movie, and enjoy being in Quinn's company. Sleep would not win. That was final.

She looked as though she was exhausted and instantly he felt bad, he had not asked but he assumed that meant that she had to work this morning and did not get to sleep the day away like he had. A sudden pang of guilt ran through him and if she ended up falling asleep while they were watching the movie he would just allow her to sleep she looked as though she needed it. He nodded when she told him that they were never really accurate with anything in the newspaper and it was sad that it was true. How did the people of the town expect to know what was going on with the people on the newspaper jumping to conclusions and getting the stories all wrong just for them to sound a little more juicy and capture people into reading them. Now all the people would think that there was a gang war in the making and they would be shutting up their houses and looking over their shoulders, little did they know that the people had been there for ages already and yet they did not feel the need to do it before so what changed besides a little bit up publicity. Now there would be a hell of a lot more articles printed relating to the gang and telling people that they were behind certain things. It was going to be ridiculous though to him it did not even matter anymore since he was no longer a part of all of that. She did not seem to be offended when he took her hand instead of putting an arm around her shoulder and she did not seem to shrink away from the contact which was a good sign since this was all new to them, in fact everything was since they had met just over a week ago. Even though they seemed to have run into eachother everywhere. He seemed to have cut a moment short when he ate the sandwich though and instantly regretted it though he was hungry. When he moved to go get a drink she uttered that she wanted a water and the two cups were brought to the two of them and placed on the table beside the couch. He settled back comfortably into the couch and leaned back. The starting credits for the Hangover flashed over the screen. And he once again reached for her hand. It seemed natural and easy between the two of them. Yes I would love if you would make dinner, or we can order something, its up to you. He spoke with a smile, enjoying the time spent with her. Truly not caring what they were doing as long as he got to be with her. It then dawned on him the other words that she had said before she left, that she was already too attached to not be attached when he told her that she was not allowed and a small smile was uttered along kissers. He shifted closer to her and chin was rested on her shoulder with a small grin. A kiss was placed along her cheek and he shifted to rest back again. Noticing that she was starting to look as though she was going to fall asleep. Which he did not mind he understood. The movie came and passed and he was sure that through more then half of it that he was zoned out and thinking about the events that he just had gone through. So as soon as it was over he stood and walked to the phone noticing that she was probably too tired to make dinner and it was easy to just order something.

Reporters often reminded her of piranhas, always hungry for a story and then always going to new conclusions to add spice to their columns in order to get more readers. No matter what the story it seemed, there was always a lie intertwined with it somewhere. Nothing was completely true to a 'T'. The supposed start of a gang war would worry the residents within the town more than anything and probably cause something else to break out instead. Tension had that affect a lot of the time and all was ridiculously calm until someone snapped. It was sad really, how living in silent fear usually was the cause of something. Similar to a ticking time bomb. Many people were probably unaware of the gang's presence, or chose to ignore the belief that they were about. But now, it was all in clear daylight. It would be closer to living in Seattle again. But as far as she knew, there was only one gang around this area, where Seattle had several alliances that ranged in sizes. She'd ask him another time, leaving the subject be for now and putting it behind her mind. Quinn sat back on the couch and the movie was started, annoying credits rolling across the screen before as always. As he grasped her hand, her fingers slowly entwined with his. Hm... The single syllable was mumbled, thinking it over briefly. She wasn't entirely sure that she would be able to cook at her best abilities in her current state and she did not wish to scare him away from every meal she made. I think ordering would probably be a better idea for tonight. Teeth clamped on her lower lip, feeling guilty that she'd gone back on her offer. Eyes watched the screen with a small spark of interest, turning to look back towards the male as his chin rested on her shoulder. A brow was raised, giving him an amused look before smiling as his kissers met her cheek. You're such dork. Words were murmured softly, teasing him of course. She quietly softly, happy. She felt as though someone cared about her again. The small displays of affection causing her heart to beat rapidly in her chest, it was all so new to her and him as well probably. Head was gently reclined on his shoulder, another yawn passing through the girl's lips. Sitting up with her legs crossed was bothering her more than anything, it wasn't as comfortable as it had once been when she was a child, so she let her feet dangle to the floor casually. Gaze watched the screen blankly, each blink of the eye lasting a bit longer than the last. Sleep took over and she was defenseless against it, sleeping soundly for the remainder of the movie until Quinn stirred.Simultaneously, she lifted her head and stretched the opposite direction, now embarrassed that she had let herself fall asleep. Sorry. Vocals were somewhat groggy, blinking as he walked towards the phone. It took a moment for realization to kick in and then she figured what he was doing. A small smile covered the blank look on her face. I'm up for anything, surprise me. Lyrics flowed out smoothly, anticipating that he would ask for her preferences. Sitting up straight on the couch, the girl was now completely awake, the small amount of slumber doing wonders for her.She hadn't protested to it like she'd planned, but he didn't seem to mind and she knew she had needed it. Realistically, she should have lied and taken a sick day from work, but that didn't cross her mind until now, and there was nothing she could do about it.She slowly rose from the couch to look at the pictures once more with a bit of curiosity. Gaze flickered over each of the portraits slowly.

There was only a matter of time before there was a gang war in the town but as of right now the one gang had a lot more people and a lot more power then the other so for the other it would be a complete suicide mission so it would have to wait until they got more people to ally with them. That thought made his stomach lurch and his heart sink since he knew that soon there would be a lot more innocent teenage boys that never knew better drawn into the mix. As he grasped her hand a single syllable was brought to his attention before she then continued telling him that she would probably not be able to cook to the best of her abilities right now. Understood. He stated with a nod going over the few places that they would be able to call that would deliver here. It was a pain in the ass that they only had certain amount of kilometers that they would drive into their district though so far this place seemed to be close enough to the city not to matter. He did not order out much though since he was kind of a health food nut and he loved to cook. Even though he was cooking for one person he made gourmet meals. Perhaps one day he would cook for her and she would see that but not until he was completely healed and did not feel as though his body was going to fall apart if he moved. The movie proved to be a good one and a few times he found he was forced to laugh despite how much it hurt it also released a little bit of tension so therefore made him feel a little better. As he rested his chin on her shoulder she called him a dork and he mocked a pained expression crossing his face and with a playful glint he pulled his body away from her and sat within a space between them on the couch with a single brow raising to see what she would have to say about this. Fine. He stated stubbornly but could not help the deep chuckles that rattled his chest. She moved to closer to him again and rested her head on his shoulder and he felt a slightly bit triumphant. Arm was managaed to drape around her shoulders even though it was quite an effort though it felt better once it rested there. Soon though within the next fifteen minutes of the movie she was asleep. She looked so peaceful that he could not disturb her. When he stood she seemed to stir and utter that she was sorry. He shrugged. Its fine. Its my fault you are tired anyways. He said with a small smile. He then dialled a Chinese food place that he found to have the best food and placed a large order before grabbing his wallet from the counter and headed back to sit down not wanting to have to stand up again until the foot arrived. He flicked through the channels until it landed on Wipeout and he could not help but allow it to remain there. It would not be long until the food arrived and he could not hide that he liked to laugh at the ridiculous people who thought that they were hot shots and could make it through the obstacle course that was set. When the doorbell rang he tensed a little but stood remembering it was the food and walked to the door and passed the guy his credit card before getting the reciept and being handed the food. He took the bags and made his way back to the kitchen table. Settling it there before grabbing cutlery and plates and setting the table.

The fake, offended expression that captured his features had caused her to laugh, herself sticking out her lower lip in a pout as he had moved away.Once she was resting besides him, his arm had been draped over her shoulders. The sense of comfort coming over her amazed her and she suspected it was another reason why she'd fallen asleep so easily. She'd never expected the two of them to end up like this, or her with anyone similar to him for that matter. The chance of her meeting and liking some one involved with a gang had always been extremely slim to none since the day her father died. Her mother probably would freak if she ever found out about the man's past, she didn't need to know anyways. She was sure Quinn wanted the entirety of it all behind him and to start fresh without the weight heaving on his shoulders. The girl was confused at the two of them, not entirely sure what to consider them and much to shy to ask such a question. Again, her thinking of such things was ridiculous. She should just be happy and put it behind her. She could be herself, and not have to pretend to be someone else. He shrugged off the fact that she had fallen asleep, saying something about it being his fault. But it was only partly his fault. She had decided on staying, although it was for his own good, it had been her choice. And she was quite glad she had decided to stay. Sapphire voids flickered over the pictures once more before returning to the couch as well, sitting next to him but giving him his space once again. He seemed a bit restless, but she figured it was only because he was sore and had been cooped up all day. How long would he be miserable like this? She doubted he was aware either so didn't even bother to ask. The only way to get an accurate assumption would be going to the doctor, and he refused to go. But now, the girl understood. Then he would be gone, locked away, for who knew how long. And it was never really his fault exactly. He'd been at the hands of others where he no choice. Objection to actions with have the consequence of pain. You didn't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out, especially after what he'd gone through already. The laugh coming from him startled her somewhat, too lost in her own thoughts to be really paying attention to the television show. The door bell rang and she jumped, slightly alarmed once more. She had zoned out and the silence was kind of awkward. I'll pay you back... Lyrics trailed off, biting her lip as she went into the kitchen as well. Seeing him set the table, she set out the food and felt sort of useless. But she knew she could get used to not having to do everything all the time, yet she didn't have the desire to. She constantly had to keep herself busy. Well, you're definitely beating the odds. She said, amused in the smallest bit. Gaze ran over the table settings and she was surprised, at the correctness of everything. Maybe she was just being biased. It was stupid, what she was thinking and she instantly regretted what she had said. She made an unnecessary comment and she knew it. If he asked about her comment, she'd figured something else out to say. At last, she took her seat slowly and smiled contently.

It seemed to be completely odd that she would be as comfortable in his presence as she was. After all that had gone on between the two of them he had expected her to just run the opposite direction screaming. That might have been what he would have done. He would have never expected something like this to happen though now that it had it felt like second nature and he could not believe how happy it made him. He would not offically ask the girl to be his girlfriend until he was able to take her on a real date and be able to give her what she deserved, being in the conditio in which he was in right now was no way to start something as exciting as a new relationship. It was not fair to her since he would be nothing but a burden though he was stubborn and he was sure that within a couple days he would be acting as if nothing had happened. He was sure that he would not feel that way but he could not keep resting while he knew that he was free and out of the gang forever. Now he would be able to spend more time focusing on the things that mattered, a new life and a new chapter. Before he had never even thought about having a normal and functioning relationship so now he would be able to try what men talked so readily of. He knew that at the moment he was not too much of a prize, with the skeletons in his closet that would make many people balk and run away. He did not think that he would be able to tell many others about his past, the girl had been strange and perhaps that was the reason that he felt so close to her. He would suprise her at the manner in which he bounced back from all the injuries surely she thought that he was doomed for the next month and he was sure that she would try her best to convince him to somehow go to a doctor, though the man had been seen by the nurse and that was good enough for him. When the male had phoned to ask if he needed more pain killers he had told him no. He knew that the drugs would only slow the recovery time since a lot of the people that were hurt badly spent more time recovering from the pills and injections they had been given then the injuries in themselves. He did not believe in pumping artificially made substances into your body to try to heal it when the best healing power was natural and your body itself. When she stated that she would pay him back she shook her head. My treat. He stated gently to her. He smiled as he took a seat at the table lookg up when she spoke. Well the sooner I heal the sooner I get to take you out on the date that you owe me. His mother had raised him right with all the etiquette and he sat at the table and allowed her to dish out the food she wanted before doing the same himself. The napkins from the bag were placed in the center of the table and he then allowed himself to start eating. Once he was finished he placed the dish at the top of the table before a knock on the door was heard and he tensed a little knowing that the man who had helped him with his injuries would not be off of work as of yet and he was not too sure who it was so hesitant steps then carry him to the front door luckily there was a peep hole so he was able to see the familiar face before he opened the door and a sigh of relief passed through his lips before the door was swung open revealing the man who had been here earlier to treat him. What are you doing here? You aren't done your shift already? The man smiled. Well I came to check on you since you were in pretty rough shape but I see that you have someone with you already so I will not disturb I was just on my break so I came by. He stated before waving and turning back down the path. It was nice to have someone that truly cared whether he was alive or dead in the apartment. He was not close with the people that lived upstairs and knew that they would probably have no clue if he never came back again, the only indication would be the money stopping every month and that would be the worst thing for them since they were very money motivated. Thanks. He stated gently before walking back into the kitchen. Sorry, that was just Mario, he was on his break at the hospital and came by to check on me and make sure that I was still alive. He stated with a coy smile. He had almost forgotten what he had in his fridge and opened the door. I forgot, do you like cake? I like to bake. He pulled out a tray with a large chocolate cake on it and placed it in the center of the table before grabbing two plates and two forks and knife to cut it with. It was a guilty pleasure of his, the baking that is.
OOC: Finally finished, sorry Ardy <3

She knew she should have run the other way as he had advised when she finally put two and two together.Yet, she considered not running to be 'facing' her fear, but it really wasn't. She never had the intention of it, nor did she have the intention of purposely running into him multiple times. It was all random and was just how the cards were laid out in front of them. Neither of them really had a choice when it came to completely avoiding each other. The way the life worked was always a mystery to the girl, but it bewildered many people. It was always easy to understand why as well. She still wished she could convince him to see a doctor somehow, but she felt like it would ultimately end up being a lost cause seeing as he was every bit as stubborn as she was, probably more as well. And she knew nothing of medical care, which was probably a good thing seeing as she'd probably get one way of healing mixed up with another and figure out a way to hurt more than help. She had to trust that he would heal, and if it got too bad, she'd figure out a plan of some sort to get him medical attention. But for now, he was alive and semi-well so she had little to argue about knowing he could be in a horridly worse condition. Thank you. Lyrics murmured softly with a smile as he spoke of the meal being a treat from him. Irises looked at him once more as he brought up the subject of her promise again, a soft smile traced over her facial features, a small hint of a blush appearing on her cheeks. Oh yes, wouldn't want to forget about that. A small laugh came from her, shaking her head slightly. She knew he wouldn't leave the subject be, but she didn't mind. She was now looking forward to it actually, glad his health had improved so much within less than twenty-four hours. A plate was made with a little of everything and the food tasted delicious, but she'd always enjoyed Chinese food. It had been her favorite sense she was a kid, the family go out on special occasions, and usually it was to the same little Chinese restaurant. When she finished, she rose and grabbed his plate as well, setting them in the sink and pausing at the knock at the door. Alarmed gaze flickered over to the male, noticing he was tense as well, worse than her of course. Apparently he hadn't been expecting anyone. Naturally, the worse thoughts possible came to her mind. What if a gang member was coming back to force him back into the alliance? What if they'd hired a hit man or something? She was aware that some of the color had faded from her face as he answered the door. She stood completely still, not wanting to even breathe. The words were muffled as they were exchanged, but she could tell there wasn't any apparent anger, so she let a nearly inaudible sigh fade into the room. She always jumped to conclusions, the worst ones possible of course. Relief washed over her and she shook her head at her own thoughts, busying herself with the dishes momentarily until he entered the kitchen once more. The next words that came from him surprised her slightly and she assumed that Mario was aware of Quinn's situation if he was checking on him.He worked at a hospital, so he knew a bit more of information on how he would do healing wise. That small bit of information eased the girl's mind as well. Good, that makes my job easier. Arms crossed over her torso temporarily as she leaned against the counter top. Head tilted to the side as he spoke, a bit confused at first before pulled the cake from the refrigerator. Eyes were rolled in a playful manner. Looks great. Vocals hummed, making a mental note to make sure she went jogging sometime tomorrow. Thank you Tones were gentle as she was handed the plate which a slice of the chocolate cake occupied. A bite was taken of the cake and she smiled to him once again. This is delicious. She commented quietly, rising from her seat once again to place her dish in the sink. A glance towards the microwave explained that it was getting late. I should get going I guess. Ivories clamped on her lip slowly, stepping towards the door hesitantly. I'll see you later? It was more of a question then a statement, waiting patiently for a reply of some sort from him.

It was amazing how fast your life could get back onto track when you worked your ass of to get there. It had only been two weeks since the incident that had almost cost him his life. In that time he had spent most of the time healing and deciding really what his goals were in life. Now that he was free he had more to think about and more to plan for. Some of the things that he never thought possible were now highly possible so that made him delighted and in a fabulous mood. He had healed for the most part due to the regular visits that Arden paid him as well as his friend to check on his condition and by now he was up and out of bed and raring to go. Today he was finally out of the house for the entire day and already his plans were in motion. A coy smile plastered on lips when he approached the store he had in mind. He planned on making up the past two weeks to the girl that he had grown to like quite alot. They had not gotten off on the right foot and eventually she had been convinced that she did not want to be around him and truly at the time he did not blame her but he had already started to get attached at that time. Purchasing an elaborate bouquet of flowers he knew where he would be able to find her since he was almost positive that she had a shift at the cafe this morning. He knew that he would have been able to ask her the same question over a text message but it somehow did not have the same affect. Strides were long and not hindered by the pain that he had previously felt in the beginning of the week. He looked a lot better though he was not completely healed. He stopped inside the store to take the small card off the bouquet and write in it. Elegant scrawl was looped inside. Date tonight? I will pick you up at seven. Can't wait. -Quinn After it was then secured he stepped inside the cafe. Instantly girls eyes were on him though he had one intention. He walked up to the front, she had not been spotted as of yet so he passed the flowers to the manager. Give these to Arden please. He stated before turning and walking back out of the cafe without another words. He was sure that she would get a lot of questioning from it and allowed a small chuckle to rattle his rib cage at the thought of what they might say. He had a lot more plans to put into place though before that time and set out to do so. He managed to finish about 5pm so he went back to his apartment and changed into a clean and tidy baby blue polo shirt and pair of black dress pants knowing that he cleaned up well. Black dress shoes were slipped onto his feet and ebony locks were tidy compared to what they usually looked like, the messy and erratic and effortless look that the male seemed to pull off quite well. He then stepped into the Cadillac CTS that rested in the driveway, the car sat idle a lot of the time since he drove the motorcyle more often but he appreciated the nice car everytime he sat in it. He pulled up to her house and stepped out of the car and knocked on the door waiting for her to answer.
