The girl was finally able to concentrate and adapted back to her job once again as soon as she caught up on her sleep, which only took a few days. Her attitude had been a lot happier lately, she was constantly reminded of this by Mariah of course, who was constantly assuming there was something going on. So constantly, questions were asked. Somehow, she kept managing to make up some sort of believable excuse, but there never failed to be a question sooner or later. When she personally figured out the truth behind it all, Mariah would be informed a bit more. She was tired of making up little white lies, and if she summarized things to a point, maybe the questions would stop. Orders were brought back towards the kitchen, hearing the bells on the front door once more. The cafe had been getting quite a bit of traffic lately, which had been nice, but tiring. Strides were taken away from the kitchen and towards the tables, being stopped as a bouquet of flowers was handed towards her. Tsk.Tsk.Maybe I'll have to try dropping food sometime... The manager laughed quietly before returning to the cash box, clearly she hadn't forgot what had happened weeks ago. A few chuckles echoed from the direction of the kitchen, but it didn't keep her from smiling. Gaze flickered over the card, reading it twice and finally realizing that he'd set their date for tonight. He had been doing better, clearly if he was coming into town and running errands. Every time she walked past, some teasing comment was made by a staff member, but she either ignored it or played along in good spirits. The shift seemed to take longer than usual, but she knew it was because she couldn't stop thinking about tonight's plans. Finally the clock struck three, and she was finished with work for the day The drive home was short, and so she busied herself momentarily to digging through the clothes in her closet, satisfied as she found the simple little black dress she had worn probably only three times.Gaze stared at a skirt as well, briefly contemplating that choice. She preferred the dress, but then wondered if she was possibly over dressing. The dress was put aside for now, along with the wedged sandals, not even daring to attempt to wear the heels that had been a birthday present a few months earlier. She didn't have the desire to end up in the hospital with a broken ankle any time soon. The flowers were placed in a vase in the middle of the table for display. The corgi followed her back and forth in between the rooms, curious as to what was going on. Around six, she slipped into the dress and applied a small bit of make-up to her features before focusing more so on her hair. Blond locks were curled into gentle spirals that fell down near her shoulders. The silver pendant that was a scripted 'A' dangled around the girl's neck. Chloe scampered to the door and barked as a knock was heard. Come in. Vocals called out, glancing into the mirror hesitantly before moving a strand of hair from her vision as she walked into the living room. Voids blinked for a moment, a smile tracing over her lips. You clean up well.Lyrics were quiet, remembering the two times where she'd witnessed him after being beaten, finding it hard to imagine it was the same man who stood before her now. Oh, and thank you so much for the flowers, they are gorgeous. It was very sweet of you to do that. She paused slightly, tilting her head to the side as she glanced to him once again. I didn't overdress, did I? She felt self-conscious, but she found herself feeling like that a lot.

Unruly dark locks had been ruffled a little and spiked into a neat hair style that looked appropriate and formal on the man. It was just his style. There were no visible bruises and he had made sure to take a small amount of pain killers before he attempted all of this since he was still in healing mode but he did not want to ruin the first time he would be allowed to take her out he wanted it desperately to be perfect. Something he knew that was impossible but he figured if he planned it as well as possible it would be less likely. The blue polo shirt was well fitted and the slender raised muscles of the mans chest and abdomen could be seen through the light fabric, the top two buttons were undone showing a tiny amount of chest below his neck and not giving off the air of an uptight business man. It was true though he did clean up well. A delicate spray of Hugo Boss was placed at the collar of the shirt and he was ready to go as he stepped into the Cadillac. The luxury car, would eventually need to go since it had been drug money that had bought it for him, but he would enjoy the nice care for the night since it was only appropriate to pick her up in a nice car. Maybe it could stay though as a sort of payment for the work that he used to do for so long? A compromise. Though he was sure that it would make him think of the gang, but then again for the next little while he would be thinking alot of the lifestyle he had been living for so long since it was the only thing that he had come to know in the past little while. He owed the nice car to himself. It would be a present that he would not force himself to give up. Slowing as he approached the curb he stepped from the car and closed the drivers door allowing the car to remain on to ensure the temperature control from within the vehicle so that it would not be too hot nor to cold by the time that he returned. He stepped onto the front porch with confidence that he previously would have balked at raising his hand to the door to knock. It was a long time since he had actually knocked on someones door since the times that he had visited someone elses house when he had been in the gang you did not want them to know that you were there. It was nice to have the person behind the door know that you were there and not be suprised. He had been right on time and suprisingly she was ready, this was not normal for a girl but it was greatly appreciated since he had a lot in store in which they needed to be on time for. The first words that came out of her mouth was that he cleaned up well and a small smile tugged at the mans handsome features a certain mischevious look glinting in optics, one that would have been much too full of pain before to ever become apparent. The girl looked stunning and there was no doubt about that. The dress was enough to make the hair on the back of his neck rise and yet this was the girl he got to take out on a date. Ivories clamp the inside of his bottom lip as he supressed the urge to say what was really crossing his mind. Thank you. You look amazing yourself. The polite words were settled for since his other comment was not deemed appropriate. She then commented about him leaving the flowers for her at her work this morning. I am glad that you liked them. He stated gently reaching forward to touch her forearm, unable to withstand not touching her for any longer. As she asked if she had overdressed he shook his head. No you look great. He stated gently before then extending his arm for her to take if she wished on the walk to the car. The restaurant of his choosing was a little more of a hole in the wall sort of place that he had found by mistake when he had been walking along the beach. Stepping to the curb he opened her door for her and then closed it before then heading to the drivers seat. How was work today? He asked casually glancing in her direction before the car was stopped not too far from her house in a parking spot by the side of the park. He then stepped from the car once more, the large black sign with the grey writing scrawled in a large elegant handwriting, the name of the restaurant was Galini. The atmosphere was dark and romantic and quite quiet. This was not a place that you would take unruly young children and the majority of the people were also out on dates. He walked to the hostess. For Mazur. He stated the polish last name running off his tongue easily.

She constantly kept herself from staring, he looked too perfect; too good to be true. Yet, here he was taking her date after making her promise so a few weeks earlier. She noticed the faint outlines of his chest muscles through his shirt, again reminding her of his perfect appearance. But she knew he wasn't flawless; his opinion of himself wasn't high, but she refused to agree with it for the most part. She was every bit as stubborn as he was.The girl wasn't completely used to wearing a dress, yet she wasn't exactly uncomfortable in it.She'd never considered herself anything but average, despite the comments from friends and family; that was something that you just did, whether you were speaking the truth or not. The comment that was returned caused a gentle flush to appear in her face, smiling in turn. Thanks. Lyrics were quiet, and she nodded once, referring to the flowers. I like them a lot. As his hand touched her arm, she took a small step closer to the man, feeling comfortable in his presence once more and wishing she could just be wrapped in his arms. But she couldn't, it would just be awkward even though it felt perfectly fine to her. She had to straighten her thoughts and actually think instead of being lost in some stupid fantasy. She was well aware that it was not that simple. He claimed she was dressed fine and complimented her again, which was appreciated. Then lids fluttered, blinking and reaching for his arm as it was extended in her direction. She walked beside him to the car, thanking him as he opened her door. She definitely was not used to men that were gentlemen, well at least not as much as Quinn was. It was pleasant, something she liked about his character. The car was comfortable, the faint smell of his cologne lingered inside of it. She hesitated a moment at his question about her day, trying to figure out how to describe it accurately. It was... interesting. She murmured, glancing out the window curiously as he drove down the road. She started to wonder where he was planning on taking her to, but didn't ask, figuring she'd know in a matter of time.Gaze traveled back to the male, shaking her head slightly, a gentle laugh echoing out as she recalled earlier words. And of course, your little surprise caused an unavoidable conversation. But, it was quite entertaining. How was your day? The Cadillac was pulled into a parking spot, and a glance was cast towards the restaurant, recognizing the name from other people's conversations. Their signature dishes were Greek, something she hadn't had before, or that she could remember actually. She struggled at first to walk beside him, feeling ridiculously clumsy in the wedged shoes, but quickly got the hang of it and was able to keep up with him; without tripping thankfully. She wanted more than anything for her to be able to be somewhat normal and coordinated somehow and not mess everything up like she usually did. The lights were dim as they stepped into the restaurant, it definitely had a romantic feel to it which the lass didn't mind. He stated his last name, accent matching the origin of it perfectly. The hostess led them to their table, acknowledging only the man and completely ignoring her presence, not that she was really expected to. She worked with a few other waitresses that did the same thing, and it had always disgusted her personally. Gaze wandered to the ground momentarily before sitting down at the table. You really didn't have to go through all this trouble, Quinn. She felt strangely out of place in the atmosphere of the restaurant, trying to ignore the last time she had been to such a place. It hadn't ended well at all, but she would not let the past ruin tonight. She was going to enjoy herself and have a nice evening with a guy she enjoyed spending time with. Her normal life was put aside, her previous occurrences where put to the back of her head so she wouldn't think of them. And she was not going to mess anything up. The dinner napkin was placed across her lap in a proper manner, as the forced etiquette classes had told her so. Even when she didn't exactly listen at the time, she could remember them for the most part now. The classes had not been her idea in anyway, but it was one of her grandmother's annoying rants and no matter the protests at thirteen, the choice wasn't hers nor was it exactly her mother's. She had done something to be called a disgrace, and needless to say, the classes ended not long afterward. A small smile traced over her lips, placing that memory elsewhere as well. Sapphires watched Quinn attentively, silent as she thought of something to say. Teeth clamped onto the inside of her mouth, now fearing that if she didn't say something, she'd ruin everything somehow. Thank you, so much. Tones were quiet.

He could not help but feel a little satisfaction at how well his planning seemed to be going and the night seemed to be starting without a hitch and that was always a good sign. She seemed to be a little embarrassed when he complimented her which made him wonder if she truly did not believe that she was attractive. That was just superficial as well, once you got to know here there was a lot more then just good looks, sure she was a little on the clumsy side though that just made it more interesting. After all he was sure that they would not have met if she had not ended up almost dumping his lunch on him and that seemed to spark their conversation. The day was etched memorably in his mind as something that was not to be forgotten. She was polite when she told him thanks after the compliment and told him that she had liked the flowers which he was glad since that had been the intended affect. To single her out and make her know that she was being thought about and she was special. He would not doubt that every other person in the cafe had wished that someone would have brought them flowers. A small smile came to his lips when he thought of this, if it made her day brighter that was his only intentions. She looked a little suprised when he held his arm out though fell into step beside him as if that was her spot to be and it felt natural. Strides were long and not hindered by the stiffness and soreness that had been there just a couple of weeks previous. He had managed to escape that battle mostly unscathed it had all been superficial and so painful while it healed but there was not underlying tissue damage. As soon as the internal bruises were gone and the burns he found that he was on the road to recovery and started to feel better and better everyday from there on. He had also allowed himself to finally heal fully and he had stayed inside and not pushed himself to his limits, funny how things finally manage to work when you just give them a little bit of time. From here he had so much to look up to. He had submitted his grades and transfer papers to a local clinic that could possibly take him on for his apprenticeship since he might as well use the school that he had worked so hard to pay off. Casual talk seemed to fill the interior of the car as he took his seat in the leather seat. Turning the key and the flashy car roared to life. When she told him that she had an interesting day he chuckled lightly. I have a feeling that is a trend with you. Hopefully everyones lunch arrived on their plate and not their laps. He spoke the tones lightly though and when he said it to her he reached over to take her hand and gave it a small squeeze. Though I cannot say I regret almost wearing my lunch. He smiled before then taking his hand back and allowing it to rest on the arm rest. Well my day was quite boring. He stated gently. Turning the conversation back to her since he really did not have much to tell about the average day that he had spent waiting for the evening to come around. When they arrived he was impressed with the restaurant as he always was when he went here and glad to walk in and see that it was not busy and the person at the front helped them and her eyes lingered a little too long on him so he responded by draping an arm over the girls shoulders protectively knowing that most of the males eyes would be on her and he needed to make a point that he was the one that was taking the girl out on a date tonight. Call it a primal instinct if you will. She told him that he did not need to go through all this effort and he shrugged. What if I wanted to? He told her gently with a small smile. Don't thank me. Thank you for coming with me. It means a lot to me. He told her gently eyes then met hers across the table with a confident gaze. The waitress then stopped at their table for drink orders and after she had spoken he then turned his gaze to her for a moment while he spoke. I would like a Coke please. The fizzy beverage was a rare taste for him so he figured that it would be alright for an evening out.

She actually believed they wouldn't have run into each other as they had if she hadn't oh-so-gracefully thrown his food into his lap basically. Strangely, now she didn't really relish the thought of it. It would be something she'd be least likely to forget. I'll have you know that I had a clean slate of three months before you showed up, and have not had a single problem afterward. Of course she was jokingly accusing him of being the reason of her clumsiness. Fingers were crossed beneath the covering of her opposite hand. She did not wish to jinx herself. Embarrassed facade was hidden from him at the comment, glancing away for a moment until her expression settled once more. She was tempted to intertwine her fingers with his as he took her hand, but in her opinion he took it back too soon. But she did not want to come off as clingy or make him uncomfortable either. He simply explained that his day was boring, and that seemed to be the end of that part of the conversation. The presence of his arm draped over her shoulders caught her off guard, but she didn't shy away from it any way. She was silent as he replied to her with a question. Well then... She rolled her eyes at him in a teasing manner, unable to think of a logical answer to his response, even though it wasn't exactly a question. His next words caused a spark of surprise to flair, his gentleness causing her mind to temporarily blank out. He really seemed to enjoy her company, to a point where she was clearly lost with the thought of it. His eyes met hers and she smiled, looking away before he did and a tiny bit relieved that the waitress decided to appear at that time. I'll have an iced tea, please. But after she finished speaking, he was looking at her again. She felt sick, but in a good way, if that was in anyway possible. His attention caused the butterflies to go insane, but she didn't mind it.She lamely distracted herself by glancing over the menu which for the most part, was filled with the names of dishes she had little chance of being able to pronounce correctly. At last she managed to find something that had the option of being pork or chicken, so then it wouldn't have lamb in it, right? She hoped so.But it wouldn't kill her either.Their drinks were set at the table and the glass was brought to her lips as she took a sip of the beverage before placing it back on the table. The girl looked back to the male and smiled, silently scolding herself for hiding from him. If he took it the wrong way, he might assume she was turning him down, which was the last thing on her mind. She was just overly nervous and confused. She always thought herself to be confused, which most of the time it was pointless. And again, she was the one confusing herself. Quinn... She breathed, pausing a few moments and shaking her head. Er...never mind. Sorry. Dentals clamped on the inside of her mouth, contemplating on what to say, or if to say anything at all.To save her from humiliating herself any more without knowing it, the waitress returned asking for their orders. I think I'll try the pork Souvlaki please. The waitress scribbled on the pad, so apparently she hadn't failed as badly at the pronunciation as she thought she would. The menu was passed back after he ordered as well. Gaze flickered around the restaurant once more, noticing the different features of it in silence. I'm sorry that I'm acting... so strange. She said apologetically before continuing. I'm just nervous I guess. A faint smile crossed over her expression, sort of relieved to have explained the truth to him; yet she didn't add the part that she was stressing about doing something to mess everything up somehow. Miraculously, things were going perfectly, but the the night was still young. However, she promised herself to remain optimistic and hopeful and to keep aware of where she was going when she was walking. Then, everything should be fine. She needed to stop worrying about such things, because then it would only make it worse and she knew that.

He could not help but laugh when she told him that she had had a clean slate as of three months before hand and since she had almost spilt his lunch on him. So its just me then, well am flattered. He stated. Once the drinks were ordered it was only a moment before the waitress returned to pass the glasses to them. A straw bobbed in the fizzy substance, something that he looked forward to in restaurants he liked to have a straw yet when you put a straw in your drink at home it felt out of place and like a waste of plastic. He did not want to have to put his lips on the side of the glass at a restaurant that a thousand other people had drinken out of even though it was probably not much better out of the straw but he did not want to have to think of that. He had noticed that she looked a little unhappy when he pulled his hand away and that made something flare up inside him and he then placed his hand over the table again allowing his fingers to entwine with hers. He had been afraid the time before that it was not something that she would approve of. She seemed to be a little more embarrassed then he wished and he thought of ways that might make her a little more comfortable. Wanting to make sure that she would have a good time. She really was too humble about herself. She did not realize that someone could be attracted to her like he was. He enjoyed spending time with the girl and it was a shame she could not believe this. He then debated continuing on with his words but the waitress then showed up. Face was hidden by the menu as she appeared to be interested in something on it enough to ignore the gaze cast over at her until the waitress then returned to take their orders. Brow was raised slightly as his name was heard and he waited for something else to follow, but it didn't instead she then apologized. You have nothing to be sorry for. The waitress was then waiting for his order as she then stated what she wanted and it was close to what he had chosen so he changed his mind to something that was a little different. I will have the teriyaki rice bowl with added chicken, please. He knew for a fact that everything on the menu was amazing since it was all hand picked ingredients. She then told him sorry again and that she was acting so strange. Its fine Arden, you don't need to be nervous, its just me, the same person who ended up spitting most of their drink on the table and proving to be such an idiot, the same person who not once but twice you ended up taking care of after I got the crap beaten out of me. He stated with a deep chuckle. He then sat back a little when their food was brought out to them and placed in its respective places before them. It smelled delcious and already his stomache started to growl. It was not loud enough to make him cringe and say something but it was prominent enough that she might notice. So he took down the cutlery and unwrapped it from the napkin that had been placed around it and set the linen politely in his lap before taking a sip from the drink and pushing it up towards the center of the table and picking up his knife and fork and taking small bites of his food. Savouring the rich ethnic food with the variety of spices that were common in greek culture. A small smile became plastered on friendly features in a feeble attempt to assure the girl, showing her that he was indeed having a good time. Even if there was an incident he was sure that with time they would be able to shrug it off and laugh it off. As soon as he was finished his meal he pushed the plate to the edge of the table but his eyes were much too focused on the girl and the plate hit the ground with a large clatter as it shattered, every set of eyes in the room turned to look at him and he felt like he wanted to shrink into a hole and curl up. A small smirk was uttered across lips. No matter what you do you can barely top this. He stated he was picking up the largest shards though the waitress had already returned with a mop and a garbage can and ushered him to sit down after apologizing profusely she insisted that it was not his fault and that it was fine. As soon as the girl had finished the credit card had already been snuck to the waitress and she returned with nothing but his reciept which he signed and passed back to her and they were free to go. He had more in mind for the night though. When do I have to have you home by? He asked not wanting to keep her out late if she had to work in the morning.

You should feel privileged. Lyrics were sarcastic as her eyes were rolled at his comment. She couldn't quite remember what made her trip, but it didn't really matter. It was as if he could read her mind, because not long after her though had he grabbed her hand and intertwined their fingers. She had probably made it obvious that she was a bit unhappy and she felt kind of guilty for that. She blushed, but immediately decided against avoiding his gaze. She shouldn't be acting so ridiculous. He said he was enjoying her company, and she had to trust him. There wasn't really any reason to think otherwise. She didn't wish to remind herself of previous relationships where she had assumed she was cared about, but in the end she found herself clutching to useless memories. As the girl recalled the past relationships, she knew very well that it had only been lust. She'd been so oblivious, believing that something was bound to happen, but now she had just lowered her self-esteem.She had been playing it safe, avoiding anything that might turn into something sooner or later. And here she was now, almost ruining everything for herself by not believing the man's words, all because of mistakes from over a year ago. Mistakes made people human. Certainly she of all people should know this. She was sick and tired of over-analyzing her own mistakes. Mind was focused on the here and now, slowly letting the unimportant memories slip from her thoughts. She really was having a good time though, even if she didn't look like it. He insisted that she had nothing to be sorry for, but she still silently failed to believe that; yet she didn't have the heart to argue. After the waitress left, she was reminded of a few past occurrences and accidents that she had witnessed. Shoulders lifted in a small shrug, shaking her head. I know I don't need to be, I'm just worried about messing things up. She said softly, biting her lip before continuing. You're not an idiot... But after he spoke, he chuckled and she knew he was just trying to point out to her that there truly was not a reason to be nervous. A gentle sigh escaped her, glancing at the food as it was set out in front of them. It looked and smelled delicious, and the quiet growl of a stomach was heard, but she didn't need to look very far to know who it was. A quiet laugh eased into the atmosphere, not loud enough for anyone to hear distinctively. The napkin was adjusted across her lap, and she ate slowly, enjoying the distinct tastes that ran through the foreign food. Without lifting her eyes, she knew he was looking at her again and as she met his gaze with a smile, the sound of glass clattering to the floor startled her somewhat. She knew that it hadn't been a complete accident, but she decided against bringing that up. It was sweet of him really, to try to make her comfortable; but it generally caused the entire restaurant to stare at them.Actually, that was quite an amateur move. I've already done far worse than that... Teasing tones were quiet as she got up and tried to grab for the shards as well, avoiding the sharp edges only to be pushed away by the waitress as well. She had seen the same scenario happen many times, though only once had it really been her fault. An overly amused glance was cast in the male's direction. She frowned slightly as the receipt was returned to him. Would you stop that? But she failed to keep a straight face when attempting to foolishly scold him.She felt guilty though, spoiled almost. A way would be figured out how to pay him back, that she would make sure of. She rose from her seat and stood beside him, looking up at him and tilting her head slightly. He seemed to have more planned for tonight, which was completely fine with her. She was in no hurry to end their little outing. The girl reminded herself that it wasn't an 'outing'. She precisely remembered the exact words on his invitation, the word 'date' scrawled in perfect penmanship on the card that had came with the flowers. Hm... Being home sometime before midnight wouldn't hurt, but I can sleep in tomorrow, so it really doesn't matter.Basically; until I drive you crazy enough to where you want to ditch me. Vocals were spoke in joking tones, relaxing finally. She walked confidently beside him, surprising herself by walking without overstepping in the heeled shoes.Silent curiosity filled her mind, yet she didn't vocalize her questions. The element of surprise was far more interesting and she was quite content for now.

When the plate hit the ground it was as if every person in the restaurant turned to look at him at the exact same moment and this caused his cheeks to flush and his entire face to go slightly red though this only lasted a moment before he managed to gain his composure again and turned back to the girl when she stated that it was an amateur move. A small smile taking the place of the brief frown that had crossed his face. The kind expression resting on features. A shrug dipped his shoulders as he then stood ready to accept the reciept and she turned to him asking him to stop that and a playful smirk cross his face. No, maybe next time. Though his words were half hearted and it was easy to tell that she would not be allowed to pay for anything like this in the near future, he really hoped that this was not a one time only deal though. Even though he trusted his intuition he still was not too sure if the only reason she agreed to come on this date was because she had promised him before he had left for the warehouse and she felt obligated. Which was a little ridiculous considering what had gone one between the two of them, her telling him that she was already too attached when he had warned her not become too attached. With the times that she had come to visit when he had been injured he found that the feelings that he had started to develop grew a little deeper and he found himself anxiously awaiting the times that he knew that she would be getting off work hoping that she would stop by to see him and that they would be abe to spend a little time together. He was lucky that it seemed like this girl was going to give him a chance. When they stood from the table his thoughts were brought back to the present when she told him that it would be nice if she was returned home before midnight but it did not really matter. He could not help but think of Cinderella when she stated that but he did not comment. He held the door open for her when they exitted and stepped into the street. The Cadillac was waiting where he had left it and he took a longer step to get ahead of her to make sure that he would be able to open the door for her before she reached the side. He then turned back to the drivers seat and pulled away from the curb and into the street, the night was warm so he knew that his idea would be perfect for the night. The large mini golf course was straight ahead and he pulled into the parking lot. He was tempted to make her a bet such as whoever loses gets to buy ice cream. I hope you like mini golf. He stated closing the distance between the two of them until their shoulders were almost brushing as they walked. Hand reached for hers. A twenty dollar bill was passed to the guy that was behind the glass as he handed them their two coloured balls and he offered her the pink one while he took the blue since it seemed only natural before being handed the clubs. There were not too many people there which would be nice since there was nothing worse then little kids jumping around and screaming. The course was intense with lots of water hazards and windmills and other obstacles that he knew would prove impossible for him.

An exaggerated sigh echoed into the air, shaking her head and narrowing her eyes at him at his response. She could tell by the tone of voice that she still wouldn't be able to pay, and she started to think of the definition of chivalrous. She shouldn't feel so guilty that he was buying her dinner, it was only a generous thought. The latter of the words were what caught her attention.A small spark of hope ignited in her chest as he said something about maybe next time. It seemed as though he was thinking of possibly taking her on another date, or maybe he was just joking around. She wouldn't get her hopes up after some simple comment, but she definitely did not want this to be the end of everything between them. Yet, she was still utterly confused about what they were, relationship wise. More than friends, at least that was how she thought of it. But if she thought of that too much at the moment, she would lose her focus. And by thinking of that she was seemingly desperate, or so it was occurring to her as the little voice called a conscience nagged at her like crazy. She couldn't act clingy or desperate. The thing that everyone claimed was the recipe for success when it came to relationships was playing hard to get. It did not sound easy, but the girl was tempted to try something along the lines of it. How exactly would come to her mind when it was needed, hopefully. The silence that filled the time in between destinations wasn't exactly awkward or anything, and the need to make conversation was not present. She knew she would rattle on for hours about nothing, especially if she was nervous, which the small amount was still there, just not as visible. And if she rambled on for moments on end, she knew there was a large possibility of scaring him away.Gaze watched outside the window with curiosity, smiling slightly at the sight of the miniature golf course. Aw the child hood memories that came along with such a place. I do. She murmured quietly in reply, noting the way he moved closer and grabbed her hand but not rejecting to either gesture. The difference between the settings of the restaurant and the mini golf course were completely opposite; day and night. Of course, the atmosphere of the course was much more relaxing. It was interesting to her, that he had picked such different activities, but his first choice had been very nice, and she was quite positive that this one would be more laid back, and fun. She glanced over the course, aware of all the different obstacles that the various holes contained. It's been years.. She muttered, mostly to her self for no particular reason.A time was remembered when she had been dragged out here with friends, but the game had been quickly ended due to a few girl's lack of enthusiasm, but it hadn't been a major loss; she figured she would enjoy herself more with someone else anyway. She took the ball and club as they were handed to her, a gentle smile crossing her face as she looked over to him for a moment before looking away towards the first hole. Just a warning...I don't have a very good aim, so usually something ends up going the wrong direction. Watch out. Ivories gritted on the inside of her lower lip, imagining the possibilities of the accidental injuries that could be inflicted on anyone that was less then twenty feet away generally. Thankfully, there was only a few other groups still playing, and they were pretty well away from her. She really wasn't that uncoordinated so she shouldn't be a complete hazard at such a simple game. The pink ball was hit with a bit of force, not enough to go airborne but ample to have it rally back and forth between two statues of sphinxes and roll to a stop within inches of the pyramid which resembled the end of the first hole. She was quite surprised at the luck which symbolized the outcome of her first attempt. Steps were taken back, smiling softly as he took his turn at the game.

As he stepped out of the car he was relieved when she told him that she liked mini golf, well who didn't? But he did not want to drag up bad memories of something on a time that he wanted to make sure was memorable for the both of them. It was all about the first impressions since a lot of times in different aspects in a persons life they were really only ever given one chance. As long as a person recognized that they always needed to be ready to meet someone important they would be prepared to suceed and they would be the person that would be promoted in their work place, get the girl of their dreams, etc. He would not allow himself to screw this up. It was much too soon for either of them to know if a relationship between the two of them would even work out but he liked to think that it was a possibility and that he loved to spend the time around the girl even if she was accident prone, it tended to spice things up a little. She was not one of those fake girls that you felt like you had to be dressed to the nines around, after all she had seen him when he had been beaten up so badly that he was sure that he had looked like death itself and she did not judge him, not even when he told her that he was a part of a gang and that she should steer as clear as possible around him. Something that was undeniably unexplainable kept pulling them together and causing them to literally bump into one another. Since it had been over a month when he had been in town and he had not met the girl then he had gone to almost everyday running into her he had felt as something in his life had shifted to settle the girl into his life. She felt right being around him. The lights illuminated the course in a small bathing of yellowish light. It was romantic looking and it looked to be a place that most of the people were couples that were out on it the green now, sure they were a lot younger then the two of them but there were a few adults so neither of them should feel out of place. Sure the golf course and the dinner were incredibly different though he did not mind since there was nothing more relaxing after a sort of formal and tense dinner then to go out somewhere goofy and it would help him feel more at ease with the situation. When she grabbed her ball fingers brushed along the back of her hand lightly and a small smile was shared in her direction. She was allowed to go first and suprisingly despite her warning she hit the ball well and after tapping off all the wall it landed right before the hole. Very nice. He commented before placing his ball down. He was never very good at mini golf so when he tapped the ball it was a little to hard and after richocheting off the pieces in the hole it darted back up the green towards him. After a couple more swings it was onto the next hole for them. Another of the same setting where you had to get it through a pyramid and this time it only took him two tries. The next would be questionable though since it was a bridge that you had to hit the ball over with a water hazard. He had a feeling that he was going to be wet from the moment that he hit it and it landed with a small thunk into the pond. With a sigh he walked to the edge balancing precariously over the edge and reaching into the running water to grab the ball. They had caught the next group so he walked over to the small bench at the side patting the spot beside him. Having fun? He asked her then turned to the small cafeteria behind them. Looking over the menu. [/b] Do you want anything?[/b] He questioned. But before he managed to hear her answer he was caught up with the girl, heart jumping into his throat as eyes met hers. Palm moving to brush against her cheek. I have enjoyed spending time with you, thank you so much for all that you have done for me. Arms wrap around her pulling her close to him with a deep sigh before allowing spine to straighten. Be my girlfriend, if you feel the same about me as I do for you at least give it a try. He had the alarming want to do everything right with her, which included making sure that she knew how he felt and that she was never guessing. [/size]

The night was quite comfortable, the air was plenty warm and the gentle breeze wasn't constant. A web of stars was splattered across the clear night sky. The lights that brightened the view of the course had a definite yellow tint to them, causing the colors to be slightly off hue. The other few occupants of the course were farther ahead, so it was pretty quiet except for the occasional sound of rushing water as they passed a water hazard. As the ball came back in his direction, a soft halfhearted laugh echoed into the atmosphere, smiling as he got it in at last and they headed on to the next hole. A few of the obstacles had proven difficult for the both of them, but that was what made the game fun, it was challenging for almost all players unless you took it entirely seriously. And when you took things serious after a point, the fun was no longer evident. The girl paid a little more attention to the holes with water hazards, trying not to splash anyone near by and possibly upset someone on accident. Sometimes the simplest things would set people off, she'd figured this out long ago. She had noticed they were catching up to another group and sat beside him after he made the small gesture of inviting her to take a seat besides him. Yes, thank you so much for taking me. Lyrics were appreciative, she was very glad that she had gotten the chance to go on a date with him. She was enjoying herself and it had been quite awhile since she had had fun like this, it was difficult to explain. Another question came to her and she shook her head slightly in response. No thanks... But the words had little meaning to them as his hand stroked along the side of her face. Eyes were closed for a brief moment and then returned to watching his gaze silently, not sure of what to say or to say anything at all. I have as well... He thanked her for what she had done, but she failed to see how she could have really helped him in anyway, she had thought nothing of the time they had spent together; it had all been natural. She hadn't regretted a moment of it really, not that she could recall. The lump that had formed within her throat was swallowed quietly as he wrapped his arms around her. She showed no sign of hesitation and moved closer into his embrace. As he straightened away from her, she was almost reluctant to pull away, but refused to show such a foolish emotion. She was acting and thinking like she was way too attached which she was, she'd even admitted it to him. Focused sapphires watched him, tilting her head somewhat as he spoke. A smile was traced over her lips as she took in the words as they came from his mouth. She was having difficulty explaining the situation to her mind due to the fact that her head was in such a daze. The one thing that did come to her head rather quickly was the drawback. She was so afraid of being hurt and the possibility seemed even greater here, especially because of his history and who she was. Personally, she could care less about what had happened to him, it was just that the fact that because of some grudge he could be whipped out of her life really fast. History could repeat itself; but wasn't there always a chance of that happening? She was sick and tired of worrying about such stupid things. Shit happens; that was a major life lesson that nearly everyone knew. She needed to take a risk even if it was one that shouldn't even be considered a risk, yet her thoughts were in such a tangle that was all she could manage to really think about. A small nod was all she managed to do in response at first. I think I'll give you a chance. Tones were confident, looking up at him with a small hint of amusement, but remaining completely serious. Hope that maybe this relationship could work was fluttering around her thoughts, yet she knew all the same it could be ended much easier. But somehow, they were supposed to effect each others lives, or so it seemed by the way they had kept running into each other without their own purposes. It was the universe's idea not theirs; they really hadn't had control of running into each other except for her own clumsiness, but that had really affected the way they had met initially and because of that she was actually sort of gratefully for that simple little clumsy moment.

The mini golf course was not known to be one of the most romantic places though right now it could easily pass off as it. The light was muted and illuminated only what was nessecary for them to see leaving a couple little places where there were dark shadows that some guests might balk out and reach for their partners arm. Well the ones that had watched a few too many horror movies. He was not skittish of the dark though since he knew what lurked in the shadows and he knew that they were out in the daytime as well they seemed to just gain a little more courage when they knew that others would not be able to see them but they would not hanging around the mini golf course, for one it was on the wrong side of town and none of the people that they would be looking for would be here. The large windmill obstable was next and it was also bordered by water so he got a little nervous about trying to hit this ball and the reason that he had stopped them to sit on the bench was to make sure that he did not get a little reckless with his ball and end up hitting someone in the back of the head. So when she sat beside him she still looked a little on edge which made him figet not too sure of what was going through her mind right now. Was she having a bad time and just being polite by coming with him here and just looking for a way out. But when he told her that he was having a good time she agreed with him as well and he dismissed it to just realize that she was really shy as she had stated at the dinner table before they had arrived here. She told him that she did not want anything from the cafeteria which was good since he did not want to move from where he sat so close to her on the bench. When he wrapped his arms around her she seemed to melt into the contact and come closer to him which was reassuring except for the fact that she was sure that she would be able to hear his heart pounding nervously in his chest when he asked her the next question. Her answer was to his liking though when she told him that she would give him a try and a broad smile crossed handsome features. He was brought out of his thoughts when he noticed that there was another couple across from them making out in one of the shadows it seemed pretty scandulous since it was supposed to be a park for little kids to come to on the weekends and there were still a few that were wandering around with their parents since it was a weekend night and their bed time would not be until a little later. You won't regret it. He stated. He was a changed man already in his mind even though it had only been a couple weeks since the incident he was doing already his best to get his life back on track all he needed to ensure was that he was able to get an apprenticeship since that was where his education had left off. He was completely done the degree but fell through the cracks when it came time to do the practicum. He took her hand as he stood from the bench, he was going to be careful with her he did not want to push her past any limits that she had set for herself since it was his time to finally do something right in his life and she was not something that he wanted to screw up. She was far too important if she was the type of girl that would stick with him through being jumped out of the gang. Slowly they finished the rest of the course and it was not too late which he prided himself on as they walked back to the car. So when can I see you next? He asked her with a small smile as he turned to open the passengers side before climbing into the drivers side himself and driving to her house. When they stopped by the curb he was a perfect gentleman as he climbed from the car and opened her door taking her hand and walking her up the walkway to her car and pausing on the door step to wrap his arms around her and it felt so natural. A small sigh escaped lips as a gentle kiss was placed on her forehead before he said his goodbyes and disappeared off the front step watching to make sure that she made it into her house with no problems.

The girl was very relieved now that she sort of knew how the man felt about her and she didn't have to keep guessing and assuming. She could relax a bit more now and stop being so ridiculously uptight. She was quite glad to see the smile that came across his face at her simple reply to his question. She felt quite comfortable around him and nothing seemed completely awkward which was quite enjoyable. His attention seemed to be elsewhere for a moment but she just figured he was thinking or something. Her own thoughts were finally in line again, having settled her mind for awhile now. She glanced over towards the next hole, turning back as the familiar vocals rang into the air once again. A smile crossed her facade at the statement; hoping and remaining optimistic that it was entirely true. She trusted him, he was a good person from everything she could tell. He was very determined when he set his mind to something, that she knew. Fingers were laced within his grip as they walked through the rest of the course and finished the game. The score had been well lost track of, but it wasn't of any importance to either of them. Personally, the time seemed to have passed too fast for her liking, yet she hadn't kept track of time and hadn't realized the amount of time that they had spent together on this date was more than she had thought it to be.As he grabbed her hand once more, she walked closer to him, shoulders barely brushing his every now and then. Her gaze stared at the ground for a bit of time as she thought over a simple answer to his question. Soon. She murmured, glancing back to him with a clear smile across her facial expression. The silence between the two of them in the car on the way back was not awkward at all, rather peaceful actually and it no longer bothered her. She didn't need to be saying something every single minute. She quietly thanked him as he opened the car door for her again and walked towards the door way with her. On the front step, she found herself being held in his arms once again an almost inaudible sigh of content came from her. Sapphire eyes looked up at him for a minute before letting her head rest slightly on his shoulder. He relieved his grip from her and kissed her forehead, causing her to blink slowly and recognize the fact that he was leaving. She would see him again she knew, and soon hopefully and it seemed as though it would be. The door had been unlocked which was a bad habit that hadn't yet caused any sort of incident, nor did she ever realize that something really could happen if someone realized the door was not locked. Chloe was very excited that she was home and started doing her normal laps around the house as the girl prepared herself for bed. A yawn passed through her lips as she sat on the bed, the little dog jumping up not long after. It took a bit of time for the girl to drift into a real slumber. The sound of her cell phone ringing caused her to wake around nine, a random text from a friend asking her if she would be open sometime next week to go hang out. She occupied herself to picking up the house a bit, thinking of ways to spend her day off. The sun's rays sent a beam of light through the curtains, the weather behaving itself quite nicely. Lunch? I'll take care of it if you don't have any other plans? The text was sent and the phone was placed back into her pocket, debating whether that had been a good idea or not, but she had to try.If he had prior arrangements, it wouldn't kill her; he had a life of his own of course. Chloe kept running out into the yard or coming back and sitting by the front door, obviously wanting to go out beyond the fences that was her usual area. The leash was grabbed from where it was wrapped around the coat rack and attached to the dog's collar. A leisurely stroll was taken to the park, resting on one of the wooden benches momentarily with a gentle sigh. The dog found a small stick and chewed on it before romping over and basically stabbing the girl in the leg with it before it was tossed a few times. As they headed home, a couple was past, scandalously groping each other in the midst of the sidewalk, gaze stared at the ground wondering why people did such things so publicly. Sure, the small things were understood but not straight out mauling each other it was melodramatic. A few glances were taken towards her phone's screen, and she returned home, trying to figure out what else she could do to pass the time. She was very fidgety today and she couldn't understand why.

Saying good bye never seemed to get easier over the years, a lot of the people that he had said good bye to were people that would never return again. He would never see them until the ceremony that dropped them six feet under so he had a hard time telling someone good bye even for the night. So many un explained things could happen in the time that they were away from one another. But he did not think about this. This was Arden we were talking about and she did not have any relation to the gang and neither did he anymore. He was sure that they did not even know he was alive and even if they did he was free to carry on the rest of his life, that was one thing that he noticed. The one guy that told him that he had escaped had been treated fairly and never approached again to his knowledge so his outlook was hopeful since he knew that eventually he would run into one of the people that he knew. As a kiss was pressed to her forehead he forced himself to break away knowing that if he stayed with his arms wrapped around her any longer that he would have a hard time leaving. A small contented sigh left his lips as they broke apart and he watched her enter her house and waited for a moment before he allowed himself to realize that she was alright and not in any sort of trouble before climbing back down the steps towards the car. The key was turned and ignition rumbled to life. By now it was raining and the droplets pelted against the windshield making him glad that they had left at the time that they did since it was no fun to go around a mini golf course in the rain since it was outside and the people running it would probably have made them left as well. Windshield wipers wicked the smooth glass clean and it was an intoxicatingly familiar noise that soothed his nerves. He was not aware why he was so on edge right now but if felt as though it was going to be impossible for him to sleep she was much too rampant on his mind and taking over every corner and crevasse of his memory forcing him to smile to himself in the darkness of the car. He pulled into the driveway nearly an hour later since he had just driven around allowing his thoughts to wander. He refrained from texting the girl to tell her good night since she was probably already in bed. He unlocked the door to his basement suite stepping into the darkness and automatically feeling for the switch and allowing the room to be bathed in a yellowish light. He suprised himself since after he got ready for bed he was able to fall into a light slumber that catapualted him into a dreamy state. No dreams were remembered in the morning when he woke just after the crack of dawn to the scraping of chairs on the hardwood of the kitchen upstairs muttering a small curse word under his breath he propped himself up and changed into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Why he insisted on wearing the clothes to the washroom to simple strip them and turn on the water to the shower he did not know. The hot water ran over well muscled frame and eased the small irritation. He was feeling almost 100% this morning which was a nice change he was not used to getting out of bed and not being stiff or sore. So when his phone chimed from the bedroom he quickly finished washing his hair and wrapped a towel around his waist picking up the device and reading the message. Typing in a quick response. I would love to, where and when? He was glad that she had been the one to contact him since he had been pondering over when he would text her next since the night before when he asked when he could see her again her answer had been soon which made him wonder what the meaning of soon was to her. Was it in a couple days or a week or a couple of hours? Apparently to her it was a couple of hours which was nice since it was of the same meaning to him. He simply gathered all his laundry and busied himself with cleaning in the time that he had before she responded.

If it had been her choice, she would have never made him leave. She was perfectly content wrapped in his arms; safe and secure and at ease. But then, she would once again seem much too clingy and desperate which she was not. And she would seem very insecure which she was not either. She was just confused and enjoyed spending time around the man. Or did she have serious problems? Did she need a therapist or some sort of shrink? A flustered sigh echoed out in the air, knowing she was contradicting herself and over thinking at the same time. She kept denying the fact that she was insecure at times and had a really low self-esteem. And how was she supposed to help that when she was constantly putting herself down with silent thoughts? She really had to stop this and focus on the positive sides of her life. She was extremely lucky, and she knew that. She was just having an off morning. The sound of the phone chirping broke her thoughts, which was very good seeing as she now felt sort of depressed in a way and getting tangled further into that state of mind would come with up probably some sort of worse result. She didn't want to be bummed. The response that was received caused her to smile, her mind temporarily going blank before a few options of fun places to go came to her head. The small amount of worry that she had contacted him too soon had subsided, but next time she would let a little more time pass by instead of interrupting his day so quickly. 1? At The Dive? It's on the North side of Brooklyn Drive. The restaurant was very laid back with good food as well. It was close to the boardwalk, which she liked to take a walk down every now and then and might be nice to do again. She glanced hesitantly down at what she was wearing and deemed it suitable for public and comfortable. She was a bit unsure about continuing to wear shorts, but it still was quite warm outside and was supposed to stay that way for the remainder of the day. So her clothes were good enough, her hair was simply held up in a neat pony tail. The clock read quarter to one as she walked out towards the red Corolla S. That would give her a bit of extra time to get there and wander around a little before meeting up with Quinn. Get her mind off of things. There really was not any traffic during the afternoon so the trip only took roughly five minutes. A few small shops lined the sidewalks, all a little different from average stores. Naturally, the girl found herself browsing through several and eying a few different trinkets with curiosity in a crafty type store that had some unique jewelry crafted out of seashells. Gaze fell upon a more average necklace strung out of puka shells with a blue plumeria flower as the center pendent. The simplicity of the necklace caught her attention over the others and she chose to buy it for herself. After purchasing it, she didn't bother to get a bag and wore it out of the store. She checked the time on her phone and decided it was better to go over now and wait rather than keep wandering about aimlessly and end up being late or getting off track which she could do quite easily sometimes. Retracing her path aways, she found the familiar whole in the wall and went in, deciding it was a lot less awkward than standing outside the restaurant and waiting. She noticed that the skew ball machine was unoccupied and running so she put in a few quarters and entertained herself by attempting to play. The old game let good memories come into her head and she was relieved, still she couldn't play the game extremely well, seeing as she always aimed the ball for the one hundred point goal and it ended up in the ten point hole. The game ended and the sound effects were changed to a tone that made it evident that you had not done very well. She sat at one of the small tables and a waitress came over to ask if she'd like something to drink and she requested for a water which was delivered almost instantaneously, seeing as the place wasn't really busy at the moment.
