The snow made all of this better. The flakes were light and crystalline floating from the heavy liquid ladden grey clouds that darkened the sky, though since it was dark the gloomy clouds were not visible. The flakes in particular this evening were light and airy not the wet snow that accompanied the higher temperatures. The soft crunch beneath feet was produced and the only noise along the night. The rest of the night was completely still. He seemed to be interested when she told him that she had her own equine. She decided that she should probably give him a little more information on the horse. Her name is Ari. Shes a Spanish Andalusian. You should come and meet her one day. She told him but then let the subject drop from there since her attention was then on what was at hand. There was a small breeze that whipped through the open areas and caused a small shiver to run along her spine though soon enough they were at the bench and the male acted like a wind breaker and they were huddled close anyhow. She did not seem content with just his arm to be around her shoulders when she moved closer she also draped an arm around his midsection in a form of a sideways hug with a stunning grin cast upwards towards him with a playful and rather cheeky gleam to hazel optics. Before the horses arrived she leaned upwards to plant a kiss on his lips ignoring the fact that her lips were already numb from the cold, though the rest of her body was rather warm with the comingling of their body heat when they were so close. After she had petted both of the horses she climbed on board. Taking her seat beside him he pulled her close again and she settled into her seat. When he commented on that he hoped that him amazing her was a good thing a sly smile crossed her face before a kiss was pressed on his lips before then moving to bury along his collar, the tip of her nose she knew was frigid and caused her to chuckle a bit before placing a gentle kiss on his neck hot breath lingering there for a moment before turning back to him, glad that the person driving the sleigh was too busy guiding the horses in the dark and would not have noticed her small seductive move. Of course. She replied gently with a small smirk. The butterflies that were always apparent were dancing even heavier in her stomach now. Ivories clamp down on her bottom lip as she then turned to meet his gaze with a knowing smile. A hand was rested on the males knee cap as she then turned back to the scenery that passed by, though finger trailed small patterns on the males pants on his knee. An innocent look passed over features as she turned away pretending as though nothing was happening. The snowy landscape glittered with the lights along the path in which they were being taken through, like streetlights but a lot smaller. They passed an ice rink in which was packed with kids and their parents and she almost laughed thinking about their encounter on the ice the other day. When he spoke she then snapped back to attention turning to him as he told her that he was going back to Italy in a month. Instantly she could not help but feel her heart sink in her chest and she swallowed deeply. He then did something she did not expect and invited her to join him. I would love to. I would love to come meet your family. Of course I will come. She then lifted her hand that had been resting on his pant leg and dropped it to her side before then resting her head gently on his shoulder. She was quite honoured that he would invite her. It did not seem too soon since they had not met on normal circumstances.

He was given a bit more information on the horse which he acknowledge with a nod, smiling a bit as she said something about going out to meet her. A comment was made that he would have to do that time, which he would like to seeing as it was something she was into. The subject was quickly dropped, but it seemed fitting because they were both content with what was actually going on at the moment. Silent gaze watched as she took in the surroundings, trying best to read the expressions as they came to her. Smile was across his kissers before she kissed him, which he had not exactly expected but should have done so in the first place. As they were settled in the sleigh, she appeared to be perfectly at ease with being close to him. Head was bent down as lips met hers in a kiss once again. Crooked smile and a raised brow swept across his features as she then buried her face against his neck, the frigid touch of her nose sending a shiver of shock along his spine. He was glad that they did have some privacy since the driver was too busy directing the horses; he found it hard to imagine doing such things, especially with the possibility of couples getting scandalous right behind your back and how awkward that would end up to be. Hopefully, most people were at least modest enough not to do so, but he could imagine someone doing such a thing. The warm breath along his neck quickly caught his focus, shifting uneasily in his seat in attempt of self-restraint. She quickly moved away though, looking up at him and answering his assumption in two syllables. The facial expression which she adorned caused him to smile coyly in reply.Gaze strayed from her to her hand as she watched the surroundings and acted as though she was purely innocent. Path in which her fingers had grazed left a warm trail along his leg as she continued to mindlessly trace along it. Despite her deceiving expression, he knew very well that she was aware of what exactly she was doing. Figure leaned over just enough to whisper in her ear within close proximity. I give you props, although I hope acting was not a career choice for you. He uttered deviously, lips barely touching the skin behind her ear before sitting back as he had previously. His own attention was also caught as they passed the ice rink, vaguely watching the different people as they went around. It was oddly reassuring to see a few of the skaters fall, but none of them had managed to do so as Ardeil had and it caused a small chuckle to come from him. Auburn eyes watched her anxiously as he told her of the Italy trip, wondering what her opinion of the matter would be. To his surprise, she stated that she would love to come which was a relief for the man. I am very glad.I don't know if I could last more than two days without you. Charming smile was across his features, but he was being honest. He caught her wrist as she moved her hand, only to squeeze it gently before letting it drop. Arm around her shoulders was tightened a bit since she had moved closer and rested her head against his shoulder. Quiet sigh came from the male, glancing over at the girl constantly with a smile. The sleigh route was finished off and once the animals came to a halt, generous tip was given to the driver before stepping out. Hand was held out for her as she stepped out, walking slowly in step with her pace, keeping her hand within his grasp. I'm afraid that's the extent of my scheming tonight. My other ideas fell through, but will be rescheduled, as long as I have a date for them as well? Looking over to her, he paused mid-stride only to pull her closer. A strand of hair that got caught by the slight wind ended up in the girl's face, being gently tucked behind her ear as hands carefully encased her face and lips were pressed to hers. After pulling away, he noticed a small flake that had landed upon her nose, small kiss making it vanish quicker. Forehead rested against hers, arms wrapping around her back. But I'm not ready to give you up, quite yet. Lyrics murmured, truthful and he kept the teasing tone from flowing along with them. Posture was straightened, letting his embrace drop after a few minutes and began to walk along the sidewalk, grabbing for her hand.

As they climbed onto the sleigh the wind seemed to get a little colder as it whipped by at a faster pace, though they were mostly blocked by the front of the sleigh and by the driver so she was not reduced to shivering especially when she was so close to him. A small smile appearing on lips, though it was marked with a small hint of devious nature. It was impossible not to noticed the affect she had on him when lips were pressed lightly to his neck after the tip of her nose was allowed to trail along the warm flesh and gaze met his for a moment as she pulled back from her antics. She had to silence a small chuckle that threatened to bubble from her lips though she knew that that would get the drivers attention. She had not intentions of allowing this to go any farther since she did have self respect and did not like the thought of them getting caught. As fingers move over his leg he leaned over and whispered that he hoped that she had not considered being an actress. Eyes were rolled as vision landed on him with a playful glare though she remained silent. She thought he was just going to sit back in his seat and pretend as though nothing happened though not before a kiss was placed on tender skin. When he turned to the ice rink she noticed that he laughed when he saw one of the people fall and she knew that it was not because of what had happened to the person but rather what had happened when they had gone and that brought a small smile to the girls face. She was happy with the response that she got when she told him that she would come with him to Italy, the relief washed over his face. He caught her hand when it moved from his leg before allowing it to move back into her lap. She knew that the sleigh ride was soon going to come to an end and it seemed like it had only been minutes when in reality she knew that it had been quite awhile. She allowed him to pay without making a fuss since she knew that he would not allow her to do so. After thanking the older man who had the horses she stepped down from it to be engulfed in the mans arms. He brushed a stray strand of her hair back into place as gaze met his. The sleigh was then moved and they were left standing alone there. He told her that this was the extent of his plans for the night since the others had fallen through. That was fabulous, thank you. I am positive that I have the best boyfriend, even if I did find him in a zoo. Hands were placed on either side of her face and a small smile was uttered before lips were pressed on hers. She did not even hesitate with the movement that had become so natural between the two of them. She was sure that it would never get old. Eyes were allow to close and heart felt as though it was ready to leap into her throat at any moment. I am glad, because I am not ready to go home as of yet. She uttered with a smile as he told her that he was not ready to give her up for the evening yet. The two days apart seemed to have changed things between them a little since they seemed a little more serious now and they both seemed to understand that they did not like to be without one another. He headed back towards the sidewalk and strides kept matched to his easily reaching out her hand to his as they headed back in the direction of his house. Tonight was perfect. She uttered gently.

He liked how natural things between them felt, every relationship before now felt as nothing besides lust. In the few years, he had matured and gotten a little more serious when it came to relationships. And now he was very focused on making everything perfect when it came to terms of being with the very girl he was taking on a date as of now. Before, he probably would not have put as much thought into their dates, not asked advice but now he was; constantly. As gaze met hers intently after tucking away the hair, he heard the old man's chuckle fade into the distance, though attention did not stray from her. Grin spread across the male's face as she commented that she had the best boyfriend even if they met each other in the zoo. Small chuckle came from him, shaking his head. You're never going to let that go on me, are you? Lyrics were teasing, although he never did want to forget the exact way they had first met and believed that he never would. He believed that the way they had met had a lot to do with the way their relationship was so natural right now. He did not have to keep such a large secret from her and eventually tell her later, the cards were laying face up on the table. Always, he had had a difficult time admitting to things and kept a lot in the dark, but he was completely open with Ardeil; minus the whole fear of water thing. That had yet to come up though, but he knew he would have to tell her before the Italy trip because he never was going to live it down with his loud family. As lips met hers in a kiss, eyes were shut as it was let be a little longer than he had originally planned; nothing scandalous of course. He pulled away with a gentle smile, nodding as she stated that she was not quite ready to go home yet. It was reassuring to hear that the feelings between the two of them were mutual and he did not feel as though he was making a fool of himself getting caught up with a girl that was not nearly as interested. She reached for his hand and he gently took hers, squeezing it and letting their fingers entwine. Any time with you is pure perfection for me. Tones were soft; hesitating before continuing. But I can't take full credit tonight, I did ask for some advice. He admitted sheepishly, wishing it coul The walk back to his house did not take long, the falling snow had slowed. Lights were flickered on in the house, taking her jacket once more if she wished while hanging up his own.Frame paused a minute, thanking before facial expression turned a bit devious. Before I forget... He mumbled, signaling for her to stay while he disappeared upstairs to grab something. Small black box with the white ribbon wrapped around it was retrieved from where he had set it in his bedroom, sauntering down the stairs a little too quickly until he slipped on the last step. The box was held behind his back, thankfully not squished when he fell. Sitting up with a small grin, he arched his back before standing. Box holding the elegant sterling silver necklace with a key pendant accented with 1/10 carat diamond throughout it.At one point he had considered kneeling on one knee, but now was not the appropriate time to joke with her again. I simply could not resist; it reminded me of you. Smile was clear as day as he watched her open the box. Merry early Christmas. Quiet chuckle came from the male as he waited for her reaction.

He commented that she was never going to let go of the fact that they had met at a zoo and it had not been just an outing for the two of them. It would have been different if she had been taking a little relative there and managed to see the cute guy over at a concession stand or something. Their story of meeting was pretty unique and it was a secret that they would always share, together. Since it was not something that even an immortal could be told since it was criminal as well as to do with their gifts. That was something to be held sacred between the two of them and something important. She shook her head indicating that he would never be able to live it down. I would never want to forget it. She stated gently. He drew her closer to meet her lips in a kiss, one that sent the butterflies usually present into a whirlwind and caused her breath to hitch in the back of her throat. It was over much too soon for her liking and he commented that any time spent with her was perfection and that he had not been the single person planning this. Well maybe not, but with anyone else it would have been no where near the same, plus you were the one that made it happen. She uttered softly. She could not believe the perfection of the evening, the small amount of snow falling from the ground just to catch the streetlights right and look like little tiny falling diamonds as they cascaded to the ground, the dinner that had been prepared by her amazing restaurant owning chef of a boyfriend, a sleigh ride in the park in the night time, her favourite time of the day and now the possibility of a little more time with the person that was quickly becoming one of the largest parts of her life. The walk back to the house was brief and soon they were on the porch and he was unlocking the door for the two of them to step inside to the warmth that tended to envelope a person like a warm blanket. He took her jacket from her and then stated something a little suspicious. Before he forgot what? He left her standing there in the hallway by the door looking a little flustered while he jogged up the stairs and disappeared into a room at the top of the stairs. She took a step back to lean against the back of the wall and close her eyes for a moment before she heard him coming back down the stairs and looked up. Eyes were widened as he slipped on the last step and she rushed forward to attempt to help him get up from where he was on the floor but he was already up and he pulled a box out from his back pocket and handed it to her. A tiny black box that looked to be like one of the ones that held jewelry. She undid the ribbon and opened it to be stunned by what it held. There was a silver necklace with a key pendant on it. Little did he know that she loved silver, she was not at all a gold person so in fact it was perfect. Eyes widened as it was held in her palm and finger ran over the pendant for a moment. It's gorgeous. She stated gently eyes remaining locked on it. Thank you so much. She bit her lip moving forward to wrap her arms around him without letting the necklace go. Standing on her tip toes her forehead was pressed to his gently as she locked eyes with him for a moment before pressing lips to his. She undid the clasp then positioned herself with her back to him so that he would be able to place it around her neck and held it out for him to put on. When he had finished she turned back around swiveling in his grip to rest her head against his chest. How am I so lucky? She knew that a lot of girls would kill to be in her situation. She was not big on the material gifts though it was not as though she was going to turn it down. Though she would have liked him just as much with or without it. The necklace was stunning though and would remind her constantly that there was someone that cared for her.

He was curious exactly how they would explain their meeting, since it would not be the smartest thing to tell the majority of the people they knew. His family could know the actual story, if it was alright with her seeing as they were immortals themselves. Unless she wanted it otherwise, which he did not really care. It could be a harmless secret between the two of them and they could figure out some other story though it would not be nearly as exciting. But the more important thing was that their powers would not be known to mortals, that was simple. Gaze watched her, sparked with interest as she said it would not be the same with anyone else. Hm...I just think you are biased. Nonetheless, I'm glad you're the one that accompanied me on such an outing. Lyrics came in quiet reply. His pride of the night's accomplishments stayed silent, just thrilled that she was enjoying herself as well. Once he had started up the stairs he noticed the frustrated look that caught her features, silencing a chuckle that threatened to echo aloud. He felt like an excited little kid as he ran down the stairs and slipped only to quickly recover before she could help him. The expression that crossed her face caused him to smile, he had definitely taken her by surprise which was something he enjoyed doing. As she fiddled with the ribbon on the box, he took a step closer to her. Silently, gaze flickered over her reaction as she looked a bit captivated by the necklace. She stated that it was gorgeous and a broad smile came across his kissers. Arm gently wrapped around her waist, bending his neck so she did not have to reach up as far. Lips met hers in a quick kiss before she had turned with the clasp in his direction. He fiddled with the small snap for a moment before managing to attach it to the loop. As she turned and rested her head on his chest, one hand rested upon the small of her back while the other held along her shoulders. Soft kiss was pressed on top of her head with a gentle sigh as she questioned about being lucky. I would not consider you the lucky one. He murmured softly. I would have died without your help in the beginning. He paused, resting his chin only slightly on the top of her head. And now I'm so lucky as to have you as my girlfriend. I do not think I'd have it any other way, either. Tones were uttered, closing his eyes before slowly pulling away after a few moments. Looking away only to check the time on the oak clock that was hung on the wall, small sigh passed through his lips. The time seemed to pass so much faster when he was spending it with her, and it was almost as though they both wished it lasted longer. I can take you home whenever you want. Or we can watch a movie. Whatever you want to do. He stated a bit awkwardly as he reach back and scratched behind his neck.

Already she was running over a few different scenarios that they might be able to use when they explained their meeting. She did not know anything about a shifters lineage but she did assume that he would have to get the genetics from somewhere therefore making it hereditary. She found herself wondering what his family was like and if they would like her, would they be able to tell that she was a gifted human. She did not mind since she figured that her secret would be safe with them if they were able to tell that much. She was figety as she stood at the bottom of the stairs waiting for her return and being polite by not mentioning when he fell at the bottom of the stairs since her attention was placed on the necklace that she wrapped and his hands were at her waist as he did the clasp up before allowing her to curl up against his chest. Head was pressed close to his chest allowing herself to hear the rythmic breathing and pounding of his heart that soothed her. He suggested that he could either take her home or they could watch a movie, she did not want to intrude in case he wanted to go to bed if he had work in the morning. I better not keep you up any later. I am sure you have work to do in the morning. She told him gently though she was reluctant to part from his company so soon. She turned back towards the car though and grabbed her jacket placing it back on before replacing her shoes and stepping out onto the sidewalk of the house. She was sure that she would get to see him soon though so that was a calming thought since she lived from time to time when not with him wondering when she would get to see him next. Hand moved to her collarbone to run over the pendant that now hung at her neck and she knew that within the next couple days she would do a lot of looking at the stunning necklace. The snow seemed to be letting up a little and starting to ease off for the night leaving the sky completely black and clear enough to see the stars. She slid into the passengers seat where she had recently grown accustomed to. When he joined her in the driver side she rubbed her hands together to try to warm herself up a little since the car was frigid with the temperature of the night. When it started the vents still spewed the cold air though there was nothing that could be done about it and she knew that within moments she would be home anyways with not enough time for the car to even warm up. That did not matter though because what was on her mind was her warm bed that was waiting for her. When he pulled away from the curb the snow crunched beneath the tires as they drove and it seemed to be a little slippery out. When they pulled up to the curb she knew that he was a gentleman and would walk her to her door and paused to allow him to catch up to her as she walked up the sidewalk to the house to pause on the porch after pressing her key into the door and unlocking it. Arms were wrapped around his neck as a broad smile crossed her face. Tonight was more then perfect, thank you. She told him gently before allowing lips to meet his and bid him goodnight before stepping into the house and locking the door behind her once again. Turning on the lights she found that nothing had moved in the night and that was rather uneventful. She did not even linger long enough to turn more then one light on as she stepped up the stairs to her bedroom and turned the lamp on the bedside table on. Slipping out of her attire and into comfortable flannel pajama pants and a loose t-shirt before going to the washroom to wash her face and brush her teeth before laying in bed. She contemplated sending the man a good night text knowing that he would still be up but deemed that to be to obsessive and just settled with plugging her phone in and setting the alarm to slightly later then when she usually awoke for work even though she was still off for the Christmas break. She settled into bed and pulled the covers to her chin as it seemed to be a tradition for her before then turning the lamp off and falling into a light sleep only to awake to the annoying noise of her alarm and debating turning it off to go back to sleep and roll over, though she didn't. She had made a promise to herself that she would not get in that habit and the prospect of seeing her horse today made her smile and swing her legs over the bed. She pulled the phone out to type in the mans number. Are you working today? She asked though she was sure that he would be and told herself that if he was that she would bring him lunch. Though secretely she hoped that he wasn't and that they would be able to meet up before then. She changed into riding pants with her thermal riding socks that were up to her knees and a bright blue colour and slid on the stairs managing to be lucky enough to grab the railing to right herself and continue down the stairs. If he was not working she planned to ask him if he would like to come to the barn with her. Though only if that was something that he might be interested in since she did not want to force him if he did not want to come. She put her bread in the toaster and poured herself a glass of orange juice before walking down to the mail box at the end of the driveway to grab the newspaper that she had a habit of reading in the mornings that she was not in a rush and settling onto one of the tall bar stools in the kitchen.

It actually surprised him that she did not make some sort of witty comment about him falling down the stairs, especially since she knew his other form was a large cat. Simply one of the lamest shifting forms available or so he thought. But no one chose their genes and he was not exactly glorified with superb grace at all times. The mood however was much more romantic without either of their normal teasing manner. He was quite sure that as she rested her head to his chest that she would hear his heartbeat which he claimed to increase in her presence. Small nod was given initially in return to her stating that it would probably be best for her to not keep him up. Part of him wanted to protest, but he would not say anything since it was probably more vital on her part. He was unaware if she had to work tomorrow and he was supposed to have the day off. Strides caught hers quickly after stepping out of the door behind her, casually opening the passenger side door for her before getting in on the opposite side. The atmosphere of the car was quite frigid and he felt guilty, aware the car would not be warm any time soon. He glanced to the back seat for the blanket that usually was roaming around in the car but it was missing in action. At least the drive was not that long and would take less than five minutes. The road conditions were less than ideal but he had learned how to handle the weather's effects and had little problem driving her home. Walking with her to the porch with the accompany of the sounds of the crunching snow and their even breaths. No, thank you for coming with me. He simply said in return.Serendipitous smile came across his lips, craning his neck to meet her lips as well. Good night, Ardeil. Tones murmured quietly, stepping away and leaving her for the night once she had stepped across the threshold into the safety of her home. A yawn forced his jaws open as he pulled the car back into his garage, shutting the large door before slipping into the side door of the house. He had not exactly realized that he was tired until now and walked up the stairs to dig for a pair of sleep pants. Once he had changed, he settled into his bed and swore to have instantly fallen asleep. The sun blindingly shining through the cracks in the window shutters woke him up a while later than normal. Warm shower was taken, waking him up quite nicely without the aide of caffeine. Casual jeans were picked out as well as a white muscle shirt, layered with an opened plaid button-up. The annoying pitch of his phone started going off and he strode into the room to retrieve it. Smile came to his expression at the sight of the name flashing across the screen. No, not today. As for you? When can I see you again? He replied with a crooked grin before going downstairs with the phone in hand. A bowl of cold cereal was fixed for himself, munching on it while barely glancing over the newspaper laying on the table in front of him. He was much to busy trying to come up with more ideas when it came to the girl, something a bit different but fun. And waiting for her reply did not help his focus either. Flipping through the newspaper pages, he could not help but wince as some proud hunter showed off a freshly killed mountain lion. He knew that easily could be him if he were to get stupid again. But somehow, he'd received one hell of a second chance which did not come often at all. So he was quite determined to play it safe, it was not all that difficult, was it? He did not focus on that too much because the phone's ringing caught his attention abruptly, a certain answer a hell of a lot more important at the moment.

The newspaper did not hold any interest to her as she flipped through it, stories of deception and murder being the only things that seemed to merit being in the paper, where were the good stories? The stories of people who gave money to charities over the holidays? No, there were not, not today at least. It was rather depressing and gloomy so she simply placed it on the table next to the other one day old paper that had not yet been taken to the recycling box and grabbed the english muffin she had placed in the toaster to put butter on it, watching as the butter melted into the small crevices that had been made when it had been cut in half. She had her phone in her hand and was awaiting a response and luckily she did not have to wait long since soon it vibrated and she got the answer that she wanted. Him telling her that he was not working today and asking her if she was and when he could see her next. A small smirk played on lips as she typed the message back to him. How about right now? Would you be up to going to the barn with me? She was almost positive that he would say yes so she finished eating the english muffin waiting for his response to her text and gathering warmer clothes including a belt for her riding pants that always seemed to fall down, a black hoody to go over top of her shirt and a scarf to keep the winter air from rushing down her shirt and chilling her. Then a pair of gloves were stuffed into her pockets just in case. Before she set out to pick the man up she grabbed the bag of carrots that she had bought when she had been grocery shopping and kept meaning to take to the barn for the horse but ended up forgetting everyday when she went. She started the car and allowed it to warm up for a moment before trying to remember if she was forgetting anything before backing out of the garage and down the driveway out onto the road turning in the man's direction of his house only after he gave her the response though and she sent another. Dress warm, it is very cold there. She sent back. When she arrived at his house she knocked on the door to find him standing there and looking just as stunning as the night before and instantly her breath hitched in the back of her throat and she found herself lost for words. This guy that stood in front of her was not just her friend, he was her boyfriend, she needed to keep reminding herself of that since it did not even seem true to her. A warm smile covered her lips as she stood on her tip toes to kiss him on the cheek. Hand moving to rest on the back of his neck as she moved closer to wrap the other arm around him in a brief embrace. Good morning. She stated quietly to him. Before turning and walking back down to the road where the car was waiting. She was amazed that she had paid enough attention last night to know where he lived since it had been in the dark. There had been no new snow fall over the night though the roads were still slick from the nights before and she knew that it would stay this way for the rest of the holidays which was nice. She would enjoy the weather. She climbed into the drivers seat which was rather different for her before putting the car in drive and starting out slowly back onto the main roads, the main roads were plowed though it was just a question of the side roads that looked a little scary. She drove past her house and turned to the right on the next street that carried them away onto a little more country looking area. She then slowed a little as there was more snow on the road, they drove like that out past fields and barns for the next five minutes before blinker was flicked on to the left and she waited for someone to pass in the opposing lane before turning into the gravel driveway. It wound around the owners property until leading to a parking lot that was packed full of cars. So have you been around horses much? She asked him with a small smile. Stepping out of the car she grabbed the bag of carrots before moving towards the barn. She had made sure she was dressed in all of her attire so he would not have to wait too long for her to get ready since she did not want to bore him. Boots were the only thing that was left to put on. The horse had been kept in because of the snow and ice so nickered when she spotted either Ardeil or the carrots. She moved in the direction of the grey animal running a hand over her neck and allowing the horse to push her lightly on the shoulder. She grabbed the halter from the side of the door and eased it over the horses ears before clipping the lead rope onto it. She opened the door and the big grey mare was ready to step out. She was a Spanish Andalusian and they did dressage, her movement was to die for. She was a little bigger then most Andalusians standing at 16.2hh but she was just perfect for the girl. She had owned the horse since she was two and now the horse was five so she had a lot of meaning to the girl. She had been really into showing her until she moved here but recenly stopped since work got a little too busy though she planned to continue in the summer months. The horse was light on her feet and quite graceful when being lead to the cross ties in the middle of the barn and swung around to be facing the right direction before Ardeil clipped her into the ties and started undoing her blankets, the bag of carrots left by the outside of the cross ties where the horse was not able to reach.

He was a big push over when it came to a certain girl, exactly why he had a hard time being without her for too long. He was never happy to see her leave, always wishing their time together could last longer. And it did not help that she left him making him feel like some sort of lovesick puppy. Brow was raised at the quick reply, crooked grin across his features as he typed a reply. Are you sure you can't read my mind as well? After amusing himself with the response, he rose to poor the remainder of the cereal down the sink and replace them in the dishwasher. After receiving her text about dressing warm a small smile cross his kissers. A pair of socks were grabbed from the top dresser drawer and then a light but warm jacket from his closet. He stepped down stairs only to hear the knock upon the door, opening it with a gentle expression.Though a strange look was given as she seemed to lose her breath and he stepped forward only for her to come forth and kiss his cheek. Good morning gorgeous. He uttered, wrapping his arms around her at her small embrace. He dropped his grip, stepping beside her and closing the door behind them. It was obvious that she intended on driving but it made perfect sense seeing as she knew exactly where the barn was. The road conditions were not exactly pleasant looking though he knew she would be able to handle them and it was nothing for him to worry about. He was unfamiliar with the difference in scenery from the town, he had never been out this way before and was now quite curious. To him, it was sort of a relief to get away from the normal scenes and see something new, something real. Attention moved to Ardeil, looking at her as she inquired of his familiarity with horses. Hardly at all, one of my uncles had some and I think I might have rode once or twice. He admitted sheepishly, but he was not afraid of the animals like some. Following her after getting out of the car he glanced around the barn with interest. There were some horses gallivanting about in the snow and he wondered which one was hers. Once he followed her into the barn he knew her horse was probably kept indoors which would make sense if she did not want it to get hurt or something. She then disappeared into one of the stalls and he stepped to the side, silently watching as she put a halter on the horse's head. The animal seemed very well mannered which did not surprise him since it would only be natural for Ardeil to have a way with animals. Watching the horse step from her stall he now realized that this horse seemed a bit bigger than the average ones. He personally thought the horse was pretty, like one that would be on some little girl's poster. She was a hell of a lot better looking in comparison to the old horses his uncle had owned and the caliber of the horse was obviously an entire different level. And judging by the look in his girlfriend's eyes as she lead the horse he knew she had a special bond with the equine. He stood near the horse after she was tied in, petting her face hesitantly. He wanted to help but felt as he would get in the way or mess something up as he noticed the amount of straps that kept the blanket on. Is Ari allowed to have a carrot? I'm not a psychic, but I'm pretty sure that having them right there is torturing her and that she really wants one. He teased, raising a brow as he looked towards the girl. It was tempting for him to ask the girl to tell him what the horse was thinking but he knew he would probably sound like some ten year old on a sugar rush. And of course, there was a chance of someone overhearing and either thinking he was insane or trying to come closer to linking her powers. The horse made a funny noise which sounded like some sort of sneeze and he glanced down to see slobber across his clothes. He was not disgusted and knew it was not the animal's fault and simply brushed it away. Was that her opinion of me then? He asked, taking a small step back but still petting the horse as he focused on her. More questions came to mind but he did not want to annoy her just because of his own curiosity and lack of knowledge on the subject so he tried to keep his questioning to a minimal.

She was already able to tell that the man was a push over when it came to trying to make her happy though what he did not know was that did not take much. With nothing but his presence she would be just as happy. She was not the type to recognize that he was a push over and to take advantage of it. There were a lot of girls like that where she grew up and she wondered why their boyfriends ended up staying with them so long when they turned out to be so miserable. It was a free country so they were free to dump their girlfriends, but she realized that a lot of them were used to be treated in that manner. When she recieved the text she was already nearly at his house so she did not open the phone to read it since she was rather absent minded and might get caught up reading it and end up crashing her car and in the weather conditions that would be made a lot more likely. When she pulled into his driveway she took the moment to read the text a small chuckle bubbling forth at the comment about her being able to read his mind. She knew it was about her powers and strangely enough even though they were such a sensitive subject for her she did not mind the joke being made, perhaps it was because her mother had joked around with her about them when she had found out and at the time she had still been coping with how to deal with them and what to do to conceal them and her mother would never know how she felt trying her best to hide this secret from people that one day if she was not careful enough could be her demise. This man, well he knew all about that and yet he seemed to find a way to get over it and go on with his life. After all she had rescued him from a zoo and he did not seem to be traumatized like she knew that she would be. When he answered the door he stated good morning to her and a bright smile crossed her face before she was wrapped in his arms once again for a brief embrace, one that in her mind did not last anywhere near long enough. As she drove they were both rather silent before she reached the road that headed to the barn and he stated that his uncle had some but it was limited. She nodded with a small smile knowing that then Ari would bet he perfect one for him to meet. The mare was not at all like a lot of other mares that she had met, she was level headed as was characteristic of the breed, quite dainty and always careful where she would put her feet, she would rather trip and stumble them stomp on someones toes. Which was nice for a person like him since when you have had a horse for a long time you learn real quick to watch your toes though that tendency just comes from being around horses and having a few close calls. While she did use her powers occasionally when it came to the animal it was mainly due to medical reasons, a lot of people claimed that it would be a lot simpler if the horses were able to talk and tell the people what was wrong with them, though she figured that if she walked around the barn and told all the owners of what was going wrong with their horses she would probably get yelled and there would be suspicions so she tried to scale it down minimally to only very seldom and in dire straights. If she did happen to notice something about one of the horses she might say something to the owner in a discreet manner and hope that it changed but she promised herself for the most part that she could not allow herself to get too personal with specific cases. She would love to be something like a vet to give the animals a voice that they so deserved but that would end not so well for her so she took to tending to animals that for the most part were healthy in the zoos and aquariums. The horse moved to the front of her stall nickering lightly at the prospect of being taken out of her stall. Halter eased over her head gently as she stood quietly for that to occur. She noticed the guys eyes roam over the horse as she was lead to the cross ties and secured into the ties before he asked if she would be able to have a carrot making a comment about not being a physic but being able to guess that she wanted one. Eyes were rolled at the comment of her being a physic. She nodded though when he asked if he was able to give the horse a carrot and she moved to the blankets, she was clipped so therefore she wore three blankets a quilted stable blanket underneath, a large winter blanket and a lined rain sheet on top. All of them were hung in the back of the cross ties before hand ran over the mares silky dappled hide. She had gotten lighter in the years that she had owned her though right now she guessed that she was staying the same since it had been a few years since she had changed the dapples around her neck and on her legs still were quite dark. He managed to get the brunt of a sneeze from the horse and asked her if it was because that was what the horse thought of him a small smile dancing on her lips in a teasing manner. Quite possibly. Though you would have to ask her yourself to find out, maybe shes allergic to you. She said with a small chuckle. She knew that it was impossible though and just had been a coincidence. After the blankets were hung up she moved into the tack room beside the cross ties and grabbed brushes a soft brush flicked over the mares hide though she really did not need it since she had been wearing a blanket so after making sure her legs were clean she picked out all four hooves before wrapping the mares legs in black polo wraps. Next the saddle pad was placed on the horses back followed by a dressage saddle and girth to tighten it all on before she grabbed her bridle and allowed the halter to drop by the side of the cross ties to replace it with the bridle. A plain loose ring snaffle was the bit of choice with the soft mouthed mare. She then stepped in the direction of the indoor, reaching out with the other hand that did not contain the reins to grab for his hand. Theres a viewing area with a heater in the corner of the arena where you can sit if you wish. There was a deck like platform with a railing built and one of those industrial heaters that you could turn on when you were sitting there in the winter. They parted ways at the door and the horse was lead towards the mounting block allowing the girl to swing up onto her back. Loose reined walk carried on twice around the ring each way before reins were shortened and the horse was expected to start work. Light calf pressure sent her into a trot as the horse moved easily beneath her. She did not want to work the horse hard today since it was one of her days that she did not need to be worked and it was simply a chance for her to get out of her stall so she was kept at a working trot for about 10 minutes before she was signalled to canter, the gait was like a large rocking horse with the power propelling her across the arena. Once she was satisfied that the edge would be worked off she slowed her back to a walk pausing at the corner of where he was sitting. A question that she had thought of earlier coming back to her mind. Hopping from the horse and stepping in his direction knowing they were the only ones around yet she did not raise her voice above a whisper. Do you ever have night mares from being trapped in the zoo?

The jokes about her powers were never intended to hurt her feelings, he never wanted to do anything such as that. And he did not care if she turned around and retorted about him being a shifter. He had gotten used to joking around and there were really no touchy subjects since he was used to bickering back and forth with many of his friends and employees. Although their joking and side comments were different and were just something different between the two of them. He knew that keeping her in his embrace for longer would have been nice but he let her go since she had wanted to go visit her horse. Though he would have kept her there longer but was not too worried about it since it was not like she was never around. They appeared to mutually enjoy each others company and dislike the prospect of either being apart for very long. The car ride to the barn was very uneventful but not at all awkward since there was nothing to say for the moment. Walking on the same side as Ardeil as she lead the horse, small smile came over his features. He watched silently as she was clipped into the ties, quiet chuckle coming from his vocals as she gave him permission to give the horse a carrot. He opened the bag and grabbed a larger one out, balancing the vegetable on the palm of his hand as he remembered. The horse lipped at it before finally munching happily on it and once she'd finished the remainder of the small bits of carrot disappeared. Gaze caught the girls as she had taken off the rest of the blankets and exposed the rest of the mare's sleek coat. Now the blankets made perfect sense rather than just keeping her warm, they appeared to have an effect as to keep her coat in a shorter condition rather than rugged like the horses living outside. That and being kept indoors with more heat as well. After the horse had sneezed on him, a brow rose at her comment as she taunted it was either that or allergies. So if she were allergic, you would have to go find yourself another boyfriend who did not come from a zoo? He questioned with a chuckle in return, keeping his voice just loud enough for her to hear even though anyone who heard would probably not pick up on their little secret. Steps were taken back and to the side once the mare had been saddle and was being led towards the arena. She had reached for his hand which he grabbed hers with a gentle squeeze, nodding as she told him of the viewing area in the corner. He dropped her hand with a small smile before going over to find the place she had explained to him. It was located, plugging in the heater and scooting the chair forwards so he could watch her easier as she rode. Gaze watched the horse with curiosity and noticed how nicely she responded to the girl's commands.Ari was definitely much different then the horses he had ridden and remembered them as. They were much more interested in food and occasionally trying to dismount their riders. Nor were they nearly as graceful or comparable in any way really. As he noticed she was getting ready to be finished, he made sure to unplug the heater before stepping down to join her. Reaching her side and grabbing for her hand, head was cocked a bit at the question. A stiff nod was given before deciding on going further into explanation for her. He knew they were the only ones around but still voice was held low. Yes. Syllable was murmured, pausing until he continued. I often wonder what it would have been like, if I was still stuck in there. If you had not read my thoughts, the outcomes I've come up with aren't very thrilling. And of course I was pretty sure they would have sooner or later discovered that I was different. He did not add that suicide might have been a choice, starving himself though it was not at all a logical escape and thinking it over now, there was a chance of exposing himself as immortal. After she had tied the horse back in the cross ties, arm snaked around her waist and lips were pressed to her cheek. Enough of that though, I'm breathing and have you right here besides me. Nothing to worry about. Little did she know that last phrase turned him into a bit of a hypocrite. Though he was working to get over his paranoia and was getting better. The nightmares had sort of been off and on and had disturbed his sleep many times. They were so strange, sometime he was stuck as the leopard, others as human. He recalled once that he had been human and they had released the other cats into his cage and that one had sent him jolting awake. There were several different scenarios that had disturbed his mind while sleeping and he was part to blame for worrying about it but mostly the subject had been left behind. Still it would be something he was not likely to ever forget. But he was not afraid of the zoo as some might be, he could stand on the outside of the big cat containment without a problem except for when flashbacks from the inside came to his mind. At least he was not the one working with the zoo, otherwise that would not have worked out after the incident. Arm was dropped from around her waist so she could return to tending to Ari. This time he stood to the side where she was unbuckling the saddle to watch and learn a bit just from curiosity. How long have you had her? He asked, petting the mare's neck slowly.

The horse was well mannered when she took the carrot pieces from his hand daintly using her lips and never were the teeth involved. He commented that if the horse were allergic to him that she would have to find a different boyfriend one that did not come from the zoo and a small smile was uttered along lips and a small chuckle bubbled forth. Hmm, Well I suppose I could make an exception and keep this one, he would have a viable excuse not to come see my horse though. She uttered lightly before turning back to the animal and finishing getting her ready before walking to the ring with the horse following where he then parted ways with her and moved to the podium like area to watch her ride. It was nice to have someone here with her since a lot of the time when she came she was alone and it was at odd times of the night when a lot of people were not around. By the time she had trotted the horse there was another person in the ring with their animal and she greeted them with a light nod before continuing on her way allowing the animal to canter before she was finished with the light workout. With the snow being so heavy and the weather horrible she did not get to go outside too much so it was important for her to come out and ride her almost everyday so the horse did not go stir crazy. She finished and instantly the man was by her side. Hand reached for hers and closed around hers and he spoke regarding her question about whether he had nightmares from being locked up in the zoo with the rest of the animals and he told her that he did and he wondered what might have happened if she had not read his mind. He then told her that there was nothing to worry about because he was here. A small smile became broader as she slipped the reins over the horses neck and lead her in the direction of the areana door waiting for the other rider in the ring to notice that she was going to exit the ring before then stepping into the hallway the clip clop of the horses hooves echoed through the cement building she clipped her back into the cross ties before then taking the saddle from her back and placing a wool cooler over her back so that she would not cool down too quickly since she knew that was how some horses would get sore muscles. She then unwrapped the animals legs and re rolled the polos before placing them and the saddle into her locker, taking the bridle from the hooks and placed it in its spot on the door as well before closing and locking the door before then returning to the cross ties and placing her blankets on and leading her back to her stall. He asked her how long she had the mare and she thought for a moment since it had been awhile. About three or four years. Since she was quite young. She closed the door and turned back to the male. Now what? She asked with a small smile.

The comment automatically caused a soft chuckle to sound from him before they parted ways. Good point, but I don't find that to be necessary. He stated, walking backwards a few steps before returning to his designated path. Later on another rider had came into the ring but all the while gaze remained on the duo he was familiar with. She said nothing in return to his summary of the night mares which relieved him since he would not have to bring up the subject any more. Charming smile crossed features as he saw her own get a little bigger. Hand gently ran over the horse as he watched her as she unadjusted the equipment before removing it and brushing the horse a bit until at last layering the blankets once more. Ari seemed very at ease and happy with the attention or so he thought that was to be the horse's current attitude as she closed her eyes somewhat. He followed along as she walked the horse back to her stall, biding her a farewell with one last gentle pet. Upon hearing the answer to his question he nodded in return. So she had raised the horse mostly and that explained much of their bond. Eyes locked with hers the moment she turned back before stepping behind her and letting both arms wrap around her waist. Oh the answer to that is quite simple, really. He stated nonchalantly, sneaking the car keys from her pocket and letting her go only to turn so that he was facing her. Kidnap you of course. Small smirk etched across his facade brow raising in interest at her reply. Keys dangled playfully from his fingers as he held them above her estimated reach. It reminded him of a game of cat and mouse but not literal of course. He was not being serious about the kidnapping ordeal of course, it was a different way to ask her if she would be interested in spending the day with him. After a moment the keys were returned to her height and allowed back to her. But I'm afraid in order for said plan to go through correctly, it will require returning to my home and leaving with a different car and switching who drives. Kidnapees should never be kidnapped in their own car, let alone drive themselves to a certain destination in which is supposed to be unknown to them. Small wink was given at the end of his speech, pausing briefly and stepping closer to say one more thing. And that means you are the holder of the cards at the current moment, tesoro. {Darling}. And for added effect, the words had been softly murmured near her ear before quickly stepping back with a coy smile. He was known to be creative; to think outside the box. Given that they both had the day off, he had another of his plans figured out before them. She stepped towards the car and he could not help but grin at what scheme he had come up with this time. When they had returned to his house, he opened the front door for her regardless that he would only be inside a short time. Retrieving what he wanted, the piece of paper was shuffled into his wallet after momentarily glancing at it. Car door was held open for her with the casual smile that usually adorned his expression. Your ride, madame. Fake French accent was attempted and he knew how bad he had failed at the attempt although it had only been a joke initially any way. He then returned to the driver's side of the car and turned the keys in the ignition. Oh I suppose I should ask you if you have any last requests, regarding to the current area? Kidnapping varies in duration of course. He asked as the car was pulled out of the drive way. Their adventure would only last a few hours but he just wanted to double check to see if there was anything she needed to do or grab before they left for a while.

The horse lingered at the door for a moment when she was placed back in the stall waiting for the treat that she knew would come next. Ardeil moved back to the door of the tackroom where the bag of carrots had been left, there was a small jar of mints in her grooming box as well so the treats were stuffed in her pockets as she then broke the carrot into smaller pieces before handing the male a few pieces to give the horse along with what she provided for the animal and the mints that were placed in her pocket. When the animal had finished her treats she moved from the front of the stall to return to her hay in anticipation for her grain that she would be receiving later in the day, after checking to make sure she had a enough water she put the rest of her stuff away and locked the locker before emerging back into the hallway where her boyfriend stood. She could not help but admire him from a small distance letting eyes scan frame and allowing her thoughts to wander to be slightly scandulous imagining the male without his shirt since she had not seen beneath the thin fabric as of yet though she could imagine. She shook her head lightly though to rid the thought and turn her attention back to reality as arms were wrapped around his neck. Thank you for coming with me today it was nice to have someone with me. She then stepped back to look back to the horse for a moment before remembering that she had a pair of jeans in her locker in which she would be able to change into so that she was not wearing riding pants, she diappeared into the room for a moment with the door closed before changing and then walking back out into the hallway when arms wrapped around her from behind and she let out a small squeak of suprise though soon relaxed into his grasp with not too much of a fuss and a small smile that donned on facial features. He then told her that what was happening next was quite simple actually and that he would be kidnapping her. A small smirk rose on features. I hate to burst your bubble but isn't it impossible to kidnap the willing? She asked him with a small chuckle. As prodded by the gesture she jumped up to try to grab the keys from him though he was much too tall for that and she did not suceed so she merely huffed and glared in his direction with a playful smirk. She grabbed her keys once they were lowered to her in the next moment before then listening to what he had to say about the details of the kidnapping. Brow raising slightly as he explained. I suppose I could allow myself to be kidnapped and follow the plan. She teased before walking with him back to the car and unlocking the door. Stepping into the car seatbelt was secured over her lap and the car was turned on before backing out of the parking spot and onto the main road and back towards the city in which they both lived. She had to mentally tell herself not to turn down the road to her house to make sure that she did not drive the wrong way since they were headed to his house. Their ride was rather silent though she had the radio going low and the soft music pumped out into the car, just by the time they rolled into the driveway it seemed as though the air coming from the vents turned lukewarm. She stepped out of the car and into the passengers side of his as he opened the door for her. Thank you. She uttered gently. Doing up the seatbelt in his car now and allowing herself to relax against the back of the seat since she did not have to do much thinking since she was not going to be the one driving. You have me for as long as you want. She told him referring to how long she would be able to stick around him for the day. She was still in holidays so it did not matter how long she was out until.
