This is by no means the beginning of this thread. It is merely all I have personally. Some posts are also missing in the middle because the roleplay was baised mostly on email correspondance, but at times also included chatzy. Other's also contributed to this thread.
Dris()Tree limbs brush up against one another, their bare, rough surfaces causing a rasping sound that filled the entire clearing with its torture some noise. Twin peaks lay flat against the damsel's tiara, a futile attempt at keeping the noise from entering her passageways. Annoyed snarls escaped continuously out of the maiden's clenched pearls, upper lip allowing their brilliant surfaces to flash in the sunlight. Winds blew ink stained pelt in all different directions, its barely visible strands mingling as they danced happily among the breeze. Well, at least one thing in the immediate area was in a good mood for the wolven to whom the hairs belonged was quite the opposite. Features held a malicious expression as smoky orbs glared upward towards the sky, thoughts inside of her head cursing the gods for their twisted sense of humor. It seemed to be a past time of theirs, riling the maiden's anger. The same anger they had graced her with was their favorite vice to point out every day. It’s strange how often irony could show up in everyday life. Singular, defiant growl was directed upward towards the sky, making sure the gods knew full well the appreciation that the fatal held for them before dome dropped back where it leveled off. Harks were allowed to once more perk, the frequency of the wind having decreased, and they went to work on giving the lass intelligence upon her surroundings. Nares were also put to work as all senses scanned the varg's surroundings, being sure that the lady knew exactly whom she was around, rather, who was around her. Sly smile spread across shadowy features as the aroma of another creature of her own kind wafted into her black tip. Ah, how quaint, a little drake has wandered near to me. Poor fool. He knows naught of my character. Petite mittens lifted, moving the agile fea as she turned to face the opposite direction, the same area from which the baron was supposed to emerge. Innocent smile soon replaced the conniving one, the perfect disguise for any unsuspecting stranger who happened upon the Evil Angel. Gray pools continued to watch the spot until the other exited from the wood, waltzing up to the wench with an open greeting upon his lips. Swaying strides brought her nearer to the lad, plume moving in time with her steps. And a good day to you, Niravadhi. You may indeed know my calling. Snout tilted upwards till it was beside the lobe, lips pulled back in a seductive smile as her bodice wrapped around the chest of the duke, banner brushing up against his pelt lightly. Those few who have the privilege call me Dris and there are a great number of things you can do for me, Niravadhi. Enchanting, honey smooth utterances flowed forth from the temptress' parted jowls, a alluring smile capturing her mask as the words came to a close and cranium pulled away from the others just a meager amount so ashen depths could peer into the other's pairs.
Niravahi::Of all the things I had been prepared for, this was not it. As the fae brushed against my bodice, I tensed, almost involuntarily. No lupine had touched my carcass in years, and the contact sent my mind reeling back into the past, a pale silver form taking the place of the dark shadow before me. As the wave of grief and guilt threatened to drown me, I shook my narrow dome forcefully, pushing the thoughts that had haunted me for years back into the depths of my mind. I had made my peace. Forcing myself to remain outwardly calm while I dealt with my inner turmoil, I surveyed the maiden afoot me. There was no denying the fact that she well-shaped, her onyx robe clinging snugly to her frame. Yet outer appearances had always left little impression upon me having suffered the taunts for my own appearance in my youth. Sapphire orbs locked into the ashen gaze fixed upon me. A moment’s silence ensued, uncomfortably aware of her proximity. This was a totally new experience, and it unsettled me greatly. Nonetheless, social etiquette had been engrained into my being, and pushing my unease aside, I gave a slight smile in return, although the warmth did not reach my lanterns, which flickered coolly in thought and calculation. Knowing the expectation that I speak, I mulled over my words carefully, for my instincts told me to handle this particular specimen with care. It is a pleasure to meet you, Dris. I paused for a moment, tenor song hanging in the slight gap between us, while I pondered my next words. It would not be wise to inform her of my shortened name, for that would undoubtedly send her the signal that I was willing to embark on a closer relationship. I cocked my head slightly in thought, gaze breaking away from her façade and staring into space as I turned her last words over. They had an ominous tone to them, and I wanted to make sure that there were no misunderstandings. I did not fear for my life, for death was simply one step further. Yet I doubted that she would attempt kill me. Still, one could never be sure, I reasoned. The fae had an aura of deceit around her, but what that referred to I could only guess. I shrugged slightly, lowering my rump to the ground and setting my mittens squarely beside each other, plume wrapped along my flank. If that is the case, please enlighten me as to how I can be of service, and I shall see what I can do for you , I say finally, lyrics soft as I fixed my gaze upon her once more. Awaiting her response, I flicked my harks casually catching and processing the forest’s sounds.
Dris()Seductive smile spread wider as the drake near her tensed, the electricity in the air crackling as the dame almost swore she could see the wheels turning within the other's skull. None knew how pleasurable the unease of others was to the lass. No matter how attractive her outer appearance may be, the lady was repulsive in spirit. There was not another soul who could sympathize with her either for whom else would choose to live such a spiteful life where no light of heartfelt delight seeped its way into her being. You see, the glee she now felt at the male's expense was nothing more than a repugnant product of wicked means and therefore did little to touch the damsel's life organ. Some look upon her with pity, others hate, and still others find fear strangely drenching their bodice as they enter into the maiden's presence. Those of the last category are the smartest of all these. Fear creates awareness, whether it is fabricated or real, and awareness allows the one who holds it to remain unfazed by the sick games played by the fatal. But, such is the subject that shall never be touched upon by the fea, her mind too keen to incriminate herself. Smile changed to a critical smirk as she received the text book reply from the brute, his action disappointing her for she had hoped that he would provide some excitement. I should have known. Another self respecting creature. What luck the gods have cursed me with now. Pools turned briefly away from the other varg as they tilted themselves with an accusing light in their depths to the sky. Growl rumbled through chest, but was never allowed to emit for that would be too conspicuous. Attention was once more turned upon the baron as the wench's curses towards the gods were pushed to the back of her mind for later casting out. How you disappoint me, Niravadhi. Tones dripped with her misfortune as gaze dropped from his and crown shook slowly, the hairs around her mane shaking along with it. Low, flirtatious chuckles moved out of slightly parted knives as his last utterance moved forth from his larynx. Mittens once more moved into action as they allowed the whole of her framework to brush against Nira's chest, whip cord arching and running along the underside of the duke's chin as it moved past. Torso bent and Dris doubled back, turning to face the other head on. I would say you could show me where the best kills are, but I prefer to hunt alone. Ebony stature moved a step closer, once more pushing into the nobles personal space before tones once more erupted into the air. You could serve to keep me company. Entertain a lonely matron? Ribbon twisted the last word by adding thick accent, another piece of her disguise that was meant to keep the other guessing upon where she came from.
--MISSING--
Niravadhi::Watching the maiden turn her back upon me, I almost laugh out loud at the absurdity. Her message was clear enough, yet the mere thought of myself having the possibility to attack her almost killed me. I was not one to initiate a fight, let alone pull such a low, underhand move as to attack from behind. And, to add insult to injury, there was no doubting who would be the victor of any physical disagreement. My stature was similar to hers, heights almost even. Yet where I had long, spindly limbs engineered for running, hers were well-muscled. In fact, her entire carcass was. A slight stab pierced my heart as the taunts of my childhood haunted me. I had never had the stature of a typical male. I had always been small, always been slender. You look like an undernourished girl they had jibed, yet that had ceased to bother me. Their muscles hadn't gotten them anywhere, my mind had. That and my passion to run. A slight chuckle escaped my lips as the fae swung 'round to face me once again, mercury lanterns surveying my being, before the bodice collapsed neatly to the ground. I remained seated for a moment, looking down towards the lady, still somewhat bewildered. There seemed a change of heart, though her outermost being gave no indication of it. That new information, however, did little to weaken the stubborn streak, and so I continued with my previous plan. Having a plan was always good, I mused to myself, before mimicking the maiden's actions. Slender limbs bent gracefully, until my torso lay comfortably upon the firm terra, pistons tucked neatly beside my bodice. Her next words caused me to grin in spite of myself. I knew that I spoke, a soft laugh following my statement. I am not a usual lupine was almost an understatement for the fae. I shake my crown gently, growing more serious. I cock my head for a moment, stiffening as I wondered whether I had somehow injured her by my statement. Scowling to myself, I focused on her next words, sapphire optics fixed upon her façade. Once more a slight smile flits across my features. So she expected me to come up with a topic of conversation. I nodded, tilting my crown slightly. Why thank you for giving me the honor to speak first I say, only a hint of mockery in my lyrics. However, the tone was deceiving for my gaze was sincere. Hmmm, I wonder if she'll get snappy if ..... I begin thinking, before cutting my losses. Well, any normal creature would like to know your origin, your history, but I am no usual lupine. I quip, gaze trained upon hers, senses alert for a negative reaction. Nonetheless, I continued. She had started this after all. Yet since you wish not to share that information, as I can fully understand, I shall refrain from asking you that particular question. Perhaps a normal lupine would like to know my history, my origins, yet you say you are unusual, so perhaps this would not interest you. I pause for a moment, a teasing sparkle in my orbs. However, to humor you, I shall share with you, a snippet or two of my life. But before we start, I understand that Niravadhi is perhaps not the kindest of words to speak, and so those who have made my acquaintance may call me Nira. The decision is yours. Now, my story. My origin is from the north; from a place of howling gales, driving rain, and rugged mountains. I was the outcast of the pack, as you will no doubt already have guessed. I am, after all, not the most inspiring of males. I speak, shrugging at my last words, indicating that I hadn't a care for what others thought of my stature. Upon the death of one of the pack's most loved maidens I was exiled. Or rather, I exiled myself. For years, I had travelled my solitary ways, before settling back into pack life here. I conclude, not speaking my last thought. For while I had rejoined a pack, I still did not fit in. Though that was more of my own volition. I hardly spent time with the pack, yet they still accepted me, and for that I was grateful. While I had spoken, my gaze had drifted to look into nothingness. As my story came to a close, I focused once more upon the pleasant features of the fae before me, yet I knew better than to be fooled by appearances. So, now you know the basic details of my past. I conclude, before letting a momentary silence between the two of us. I sly smirk forms upon my features as larynx produces yet more tones. I now pass the word to you, my dear. A soft chuckle shakes my chest, as I rest my muzzle upon my large padders.
Dris()Shades hid smoky orbs from sight as the lady awaited the lyrics to come from the strangely tinted drake before her. She had spoken her own piece and now could only hold her tongue until the other complied with her request and picked up the conversation. Peaceful expression soon changed to a smirk of amusement as the duke spoke the first couple of sentences, using a play upon words to mimic the previous utterance emitted by the fatal. Politely, the dame chose to ignore the words, finding them more humorous than harmful. Apparently, this varg had good wits about him as well as being quick on his feet; so to speak. Perhaps he will be able to keep up with me. Series of soft, barely audible chuckles made bodice shake slightly with the rumbling motion, the thought of another matching her blows stride for stride intriguing her mind. Maybe this was going to be a more interesting encounter than she had originally bargained for. Oculars continued to watch the brute while he provided small "snippets" from his past. Earlier, he had said that she would not be interested in his history when in reality he knew little of what she wanted, other than what she made perfectly clear. No, the duchess would not stand to sit through a hour long sob story told by some self pitying fool, but she had guessed, and correctly at that, that the baron was smart enough not to give out his life's story to a stranger who could use it against him. Knowledge is power. Yes, the madam agreed with the old saying for it was true. This she knew from personal experience. Her mother having been quite the whip herself had taught the temptress at an early age how to use the information given by another and twist it till it was a weapon that could be easily used as leverage another the other. Fond smile flickered upon mask for the slightest moment, memories of past times spent with her forbear flashing through her mind as they replayed. Dome shook and the pictures floated back into the vault from which they came, attention being drawn back to Niravadhi as his tones came to a close. Smile was flashed his way as words formed within her mind before they were allowed to emit. Thank you, young lord. Teasing tones floated along the much calmer winds that now filled the area to reach the lobes of Nira, a slowly spreading smile punctuating her words. Niravadhi is not the hardest name I have ever had the privilege of speaking. You should be very proud of such a unique calling, but seeing as you find it harsh to speak, I will be delighted to call you Nira. Singular wink was cast his way as smile returned to her kissers before it was wiped away with vocals. As you have decided to enlighten me only slightly of your own past, the only fair trade I see is to give you a meager look into my own. The sound of the damsel clearing her throat could be heard before it was dismissed and tunes busied maw. I was raised solely by my mother. I know naught who my father is and my mother always refused to get upon the subject no matter how many times I brought it up when I was younger. After I had grown and my mother satisfied that there was nothing left she could teach me, my parent left me to live out the rest of my life and I have happened upon the lands of your pack my coincidence. Dris allowed the last word to hang in the air, simple smile plastered upon features while mind mulled over what she had previously learned about her fellow creature from his words. Thoughtful look crossed features as one subject stuck out in her mind and a question presented itself, one she had always mulled over. Then, oculars were turned upon Niravadhi and lyrics released. Why do you feel the need to be a part of a pack? This question has always held my focus and it seems especially strange for one who was mistreated as you were in your youth to yearn for the shelter of pack life. Tiara tilted towards him and bodice involuntarily scooted closer, ribbon wetting snout while eagerness was marked easily on her face.
Niravadhi::Muscles relaxed slightly when I realised that she would not rip at my throat for my play on words. I sighed deeply, the flicker of a contented smile ghosting over my visage. I had finally found someone with whom sharp wit and sarcasm could feature in a conversation without the immediate risk of offending them. As the last remaining tension eased from my body, I shifted slightly, crown raised from its cushion in time to watch the barest of fond smiles gracing her features, and idly I wondered who could have left such an impression on the maiden. Yet I held the words back. She had already made it evident that she did not wish to share her past. As her tones broke forth from her being, a slight smile quirked my lips. Yes, this encounter was certainly more interesting than I had hoped. Her next words triggered mixed emotions, and for a second I remained silent, processing the swirling tides in my mind, before letting air pass through my vocal chords. I thank you. I spoke sincerely, referring to her appreciation of my name. The niceties out of the way, I dealt with the annoyance I felt. Though it was not annoyance in the usual sense, and certainly not directed towards the fae. It was more annoyance at myself for having presented her with such an opportunity. And I thank you for taking it upon yourself to relieve me of the burden of speaking my name. I continued, a slight smirk gracing my features as the irony of my words reached my ears. I wasn’t quite in the habit of referring to myself in third person. Yet another snippet of information that I could add to my growing file on the dark angel before me. She disliked admitting a weakness on her behalf, or at least it seemed like it. Although that wasn’t all that unusual. Not many people liked to broadcast their weakness, for it could give another the means to turn this information against oneself. As she continued to speak, my expression fell once more into its quiet, stillness, harks taking in her words. Unsurprisingly, her life had also been dominated with solitude. As her tones spoke of her mother, I remembered the earlier smile, and wondered whether that could have been the connection…Yet my mind is soon occupied otherwise, as the maiden’s next words drive straight to my heart, leaving me speechless as I ponder her words. Yes. Why had I chosen to join another pack? Why had I not continued my solitary journey through life? That was a question I had never been able to answer. The one question I had never tried to take apart and find a rational explanation for. And here was a stranger. A varg I had barely known and she had posed the exact question I had been dreading to answer. Dome falls heavily upon my pedestals once more, sapphire gaze diminishing as curtains fall to cover the orbs that had briefly indicated utter confusion. I remain motionless, a lost feeling welling up within me.I don’t really know. I answer finally. Yet much was left unanswered in that statement and I knew the fae expected a better answer. In honesty, I deserved to find the truth for myself, no matter how painful it. I had dealt with pain before. Some more wouldn’t hurt. Silence stretched out between us, nares picking up her scent more keenly as she had come yet another inch closer. Harks idly catch the vibrations of the air, yet little is processed. The subconscious indicates that all was calm. No need to be alert. So I remained in my position, posture almost defeated as I kept my lanterns firmly shut to the world. It would do no good to let the maiden see the inner turmoil within me. To let a stranger know your innermost feelings was a potentially dangerous endeavour. Finally I spoke again, voice barely above a whisper, as the truth left my mind to be shared with the listening lady. I have not joined the pack for the shelter and security it provides. Even now, my motives are not clear to me. I am obliged, almost condemned, to offer my services to another pack. I have not told you of my position here. I am scout. You may wonder what that has to do with much. As a scout, I can protect the pack by determining a source of danger before it strikes. You may wonder why I feel the need to protect a pack. My answer, for once, is relatively simple. I seek atonement; atonement for sins that I never committed. Indirectly, the death of the lupine I had told you about, was my fault. Her death almost destroyed me. Only here, in this pack that is there for me only when I need it, the pack that leaves me to my own devices, here, I began to patch up my soul and find sanity once more. The final words barely pass through my maw, lyrics almost toneless, as a deep breath shakes my body. Perhaps I had said too much. Yet there was nothing to do about that now. The words had been spoken; it was now for my listener to pass judgement. Finally, I open my voids once more, kissers twisting into a wry smile. Not much of a reason, is it? I conclude, tilting my crown somewhat.
Dris()Light breeze ruffled through the trees, drawling the lass' attention from the issue at hand and towards instead to the bare limbs. Thunder clouds formed within her orbs and audits once more pinned themselves against the ebonite dome as the torturous sound once more filled the atmosphere. Upper raised and growl rumbled within her chest as deadly stare was directed towards the trees and in consequence, the wind. Almost immediately, the weather calmed once more and the rustling of branches ebbed off, bringing silence to the clearing once more. Fearsome grimace was slowly dismissed as lobes once more pricked and sharp knives once more became hidden behind maw. Tiara turned back to Nira with an apologetic look, front limbs folding one over the other as bodice wiggled and muscles relaxed. Patience once more crept upon mask as attentive harks drawling in the words emitted towards her. Curiosity caused skullary to tilt as he answered her question with "I don’t really know". Strange it was for one to do something without knowing why they did so. That is judgmental of a being who now sits upon the terra within the company of this drake with no reason as to why she does such. Cheek twitched in a small flinch at the chastisement of her own mind. Foolish of her to think of Niravadhi as an imbecile for doing something she herself now did. Thankfully, ashamed expression was hidden from the baron as his shades now covered orbs, hiding any emotion that might have been noticed by the maiden within his depths. He was smart to keep such things from her; even if he knew naught of her true character something drove him to keep hold of some of himself, an instinct perhaps. Good. That characteristic he should cling to and hold as a reminder. Previous expression disappeared from the damsel's features, her twin peaks still listening as the other spoke with closed pools. As more of his past was absorbed by her mind, an uncomfortable shift of the dame's weight occurred. It would be rude to simply get up and walk away as the duke talked of sad times, but she could hardly bear to hear them. Depressing memories always served to piss the fatal off, setting her into a down spiral where anything and everything around her suddenly became her enemy. Smoky pairs closed as she forced herself to clear her mind, ridding it of all dismal thoughts before eyes became visible once more, meeting with the azure eyes that were now visible. Dome shook at his last statement, movements stilling before jaws parted and released sound. Your reason is your own. I was merely curious what would drawl one whose past was close to mine to settle within a pack when I myself prefer the privacy of a loner life.
NiravadhiI sighed deeply, shaking away my thoughts. The past remains the past I said simply, observing her carefully, noting her form had shifted. I am sorry to have burdened you with my troubles I continue, sapphire optics almost apologetic. I dismissed her previous reaction. I could easily understand that not many enjoyed the fierce convection cycles of the air. Her final words pressed upon me, and I instinctively felt a sudden longing for what I had once had. The freedom to walk where I pleased, when I pleased, following my will. Thoughtful, I rasped my tongue across a mercury tipped mitten, as I pondered her words. So we had shared a similar past. That was interesting. It seemed we had much in common, and yet we were so different. There seemed a sense of bitterness around her, a sense of an anger that had found little release. Whether her past was the cause or not, I could not judge, yet it intrigued me. I smile at her, the first warm smile I had allowed to grace my features in the maiden’s presence. Your curiosity is justified I reply, tones gentle, as I pulled my lean chasse from its horizontal position, into a more upright stance. The breeze ruffled my robe gently, casting a soothing sensation across my being, as I tilted my dome to observe the maiden before me. I wanted to be on the move again. I had patience, yes, but I could not wait without doing anything. My muscles begged to be used, having recuperated easily from the strain I had put them through earlier. I could not, however, simply disappear, adhering to the pleas of my body. If the maiden agreed to join me, then my movement was justified. If not, I would have to force myself to stay put. While I decided how best to broach the subject, my padders kneaded the ground almost involuntarily, blood flowing more strongly through my limbs. Kissers parted slightly, as salmon ribbon flicked briefly across my scenter. As much as I wished not to admit it, I had enjoyed the fae’s company. She intrigued me. Briefly, I wondered whether she intended simply to pass through, or whether she planned on settling with the pack. For some reason, I highly doubted the latter, and a slight smile painted itself upon my façade. If you would honour me with your presence, I would like to wander through this realm. I finally say delicately, watching the ebonite varg carefully through keen sapphire voids. As I waited for her reply, I turned my bodice slightly, visage exposed the air currents. The move was perhaps a little risky, exposing my flank to the fae I barely knew. Yet I had little to fear. Even if I were to face her, she would probably overpower me with ease. I shrugged slightly. Whatever would come, time would tell. Turning to look back at her, I speak once more, vocals light. If you would accept my request, I could show you part of these lands. I doubt that you will decide to remain here, from what I have gathered of your preferences, but a little knowledge of the terra may ease your travelling.. Shifting my position, I once more faced her with a slight twinkle within my orbs. Excitement began to suffuse my bodice, urging me to do something: walk, run, jump; anything to get me moving. In response to my physical urges, a grin formed upon my features, taking away the creases of solemness.
Dris()Small, expective smile flickered upon features before it burnt out, shadow drench crown shaking in a dismissive motion. Right padder lifted upward slightly and was cast towards him, gaze returning to his orbs as dome quit its fluttering. Think nothing of it. It is hardly a burden at all. Knowing smile took over the mask as she stared deep into his azure depths, hardly having to search for the emotions plainly written within there within his pair: the yearning, the hunger. There, in his pools now, lay all the keys to his inner being. He was remembering. Remembering all those lonely years of travels, remembering what it was like to do what you wished, to be free. She knew that with a little push from her, the drake would topple over the end into the life of wander, freedom. No matter what they both would admit to, they had more attributes in common than they did in contrast. Suddenly, the urge to show him what he had been missing while dwelling among this pack. The compulsion to introduce Niravadhi anew to the life of freedom he had once known welled inside of her. Shock and confusion raced within her. The temptress did not ache to be with any other. No company was needed by her malicious spirit and yet, here she was, picturing herself showing the roan baron the world the lady knew. Skullary shook, distant utterances from the other breaking through the haze of her disoriented mind. Shades blinked over pools, cranium frantically trying to sort through what had just happened. Little time was given for her to truly think for the brute moved, his flank being exposed to her. Instinct took over and haunches propelled the maiden forward, fronts reaching for more ground as she gained swiftly upon the wolven. Upper lip shot upward and pointed knives exposed, a carnal sound escaping past kissers. Every muscle in her bodice strained to show him her power, even if he already knew it. It didn’t take long for the ebonite limbs to cover the short distance between them and brakes were soon slammed upon, her frame crouching and snout inches from the lord's tender flank. The position was held for several moments of breathless silence, the whole earth buzzing with tension as they waited to see what the Evil Angel would do. Menacing chuckles started to erupt forth from her larynx, stilts straightening as devilish smile was cast his way. I would be delighted to follow you around your territory if you so wish me to see it. Knowledge of this place could serve me well later. Limbs back tracked as she moved to give the male some space to stand. Skin moved loosely over inner tissue while Dris shook the road from her armor before torso stilled and mask turned upon Nira as she awaited him.
Niravadhi::Even as the maiden watched me carefully, I knew she had read my soul. Perhaps that was the reason why I had exposed my flank. Perhaps it had been a stupid move, yet it had taught me one thing and that was, perhaps, the most important: my companion could control her instincts. She had had the opportunity. She could easily have tackled me, torn me limb from limb, let her snout bathe in my blood, and I would have been defenceless. I had not turned to watch her, gaze fixed upon a non-existent point on the far horizon. I left myself quite still, the only sign that I was awaiting something, the slight tension running through my body. I had expected an impact. Not necessarily pain, but certainly impact. Harks had flickered as the predator awoke from her reverie, haunches taking her onwards and upwards. Yet no impact had come. Utter stillness surrounded us, motionless figures taut with tension as each waited for the other to react. As her laugh passed through her maw, I released my breath, and cautiously looked toward her, taking in her features. Her words dance across the short passage of air, vibrations caught by alert harks, as the brain processed the electrical signals generated. So she was delighted to follow me around my territory. I grinned slightly in amusement. Snow would not find it at all amusing that I had shown a stranger the pack’s land. But the maiden had given me the perfect excuse to please both ladies. A sly smile fixes itself upon my features, as I turn around to face her. In that case, it will be my pleasure to show you my lands I reply, orbs indicating the bemusement I felt. I had met the fae in the vicinity of our northern border, and the northern lands that stretched away from the pack’s lands, was what I called my own. It was silly really, to claim a barren patch of landscape without setting a marking. But no lupines had ever wanted the patch of rocky mountain and heather-strewn slopes. I would happily show the lady my lands, for she had read deeper into my soul than most. That was, partially, my fault, for it was foolish to let a stranger beneath you guard. Yet, there was little I could do at the time. She had mastered the art of perception just as I had. Inadvertently, I had shown her fragments of my being that had lain hidden for years. Ah well, I told myself gruffly, turning my carcass northwards and setting off at my usual walk, long limbs easily covering the terra as the elastic stride keeps the movement fluid. For most vargs, I restrained myself, forced myself into a shorter steps so as not to strain my companion. Yet I felt that this particular companion, a stranger who was no longer a stranger, would match my striding, or die trying in the process. A grinned wryly as the thought ghosted through my mind, as I looked back to ascertain her following. Had I not done that too? Had I not continually wanted to prove others wrong? That I could run, I could hunt, I could fight? A small chuckle escapes my maw as an image of a gangly pup flickered before me, struggling furiously to keep the long stilts that were supposed to carry him, under control. Yes, life was amusing despite its many negatives. I mused, dimly aware of a presence beside me.
Dris()Careless orbs watched as the roan formation moved to stand, his previous admittance as his slender stature being returned to the forefront of the damsel's mind as she studied in a concealed form of way. Indeed he was not built as others of his same gender whom she had previously met, the height of his figure being almost equal to her own as well as muscle tone, yet, many things about this drake were different from others. For example, his coat was a mixture of ebonite, bleached and other shades in between the two, the combination forming a most unusual tint of bluish hue to make up his armor. Another attribute she had noticed within their short time together that was different from the stereotypical would be his strange attachment to the Rain Forest pack while previously he had led the life of a loner. All along her travels, the maiden had yet to run into a being, both wanderers and pack members, who did had not always been the later. Always, it seemed, that a portion of the community had and would always be a dedicated affiliate and an outsider had and would always remain to be a recluse from the rest of the wolven society, greeting another of his or her kind only when their lonely heart called for such meeting to take place. In this, Niravadhi was the creature who set the statistics out of wack. Even the vixen herself had to admit that being born socially detached from the rest of the unknown world had caused her to lean away from the contact of others, never seeking one out, but allowing a confrontation to take place if the gods so wished it to be so. Dris was so busy pondering why this abiding duke suddenly showed himself to be a rogue that she almost missed his words once again. Brow lifted in slight curiosity as vocals stressed upon the word "my" and a sudden feeling of idiocy crept up within her cranium. Damn it! She had made a mistake. A foolish mistake that only a pup should make! Her reply to his previous utterance was too specific, allowing the baron to sidestep having to show her the lands of the pack and instead showing her ones he claimed for his own. Brilliant of him it was, really. By doing this the brute thought he could quench her curiosity while avoiding the wrath of any overlord or lady who found him leading a stranger around the territory. Malicious smile pulled at her cheek tissues as he turned his back upon her and started forth, the urge to correct her statement with force immediately readying her limbs. Strangely, she pushed the instinct away and focused upon a more intriguing matter, the lord had lands he claimed all his own although no scent marking had been caught by her keen nares for many miles north, the direction from which they came and the same route they now treaded upon. How curious... Interest soon got the best of her and long limbs picked up to follow Nira's lead, strides lengthening as she easily caught up with him. Pace of the animal beside her slowed, causing her own stilts to pull back their energy. Accusing gaze was cast his way, lips barring ready pearls that quickly nipped him on the rump for his courteous gesture. Perhaps the motion was too playful, but this mattered not as she cared little for what he thought about her character. To trust her completely was to sign you death away to the fatal and she supposed a quick witted male such as the one she moved beside would know this by now. Leggings lengthened out once more, fibrous tissues stretching heavenly as she did so. A glance of challenge was sent his way before the fea returned to her own business, allowing shades to drop over shadowy depths as pleasure shivered down her spine. How great it felt to be letting her appendages moving at their own set rate, reaching and returning as if it were nothing at all to cover such ground with floating action. Plume flickered gaily behind her while pools were exposed to the sun light again, her delight at having action being allowed to show through her glittering ashen form.
Niravadhi::I cocked my head slightly, meeting her accusing gaze before she momentarily dipped from sight and I was accompanied instead by the slight sting that heralded dentals in flesh. Utterly bewildered, I halted in my tracks. What precisely was that supposed to mean. The nip had not hurt, barely grazing the flesh beneath, yet it had been given all the same. A slight scowl flashes upon my features as the maiden's visage appeared once more beside me. However, I had barely looked upon her, when my dark expression lifted, as kissers pulled upwards into a slight smile. I had probably deserved that after all. At least I knew the cause of my.......chastisement. Still. What had prompted her to do so? The careful grazing of skin had been deliberate, and if I didn't know better had almost seemed playful. I shook my head slightly. The fae was so bewildering, so intriguing that she pulled me towards her, like an iron filing to a magnet. Common sense, reasoning, rationality, traits which I had always had, always used to my full advantage, urged me to keep my distance. She was a tricky one, they said. You shouldn't trust her. Yet something deeper within me, from a place I did not know existed, came this drive to find out more from her. Perhaps it was my memories of days gone by. She had come from the life I had used to lead, and seeing her, with her freshness of spirit, made me yearn once more for the comforts of roaming free. Yes, there were negatives, and FR had always allowed me to be part of the pack and yet separate. I sighed deeply, strides unconsciously matching the ones of my dark companion. In one instant, my life had gone from tranquil and understandable, to something tainted with mystery and adventure. And, as much as I wanted to deny it, the new course my life had taken did not bother me at all. In fact, I just seemed all the more ready to follow this new path without a care for what I had left behind. Strictly speaking, that wasn’t true. I did care for FR. I did owe my loyalty to the pack that had housed me for the past year. Yet me travel to the north to visit me old homeland had given me a taste for more. And this maiden had just whetted my appetite further. Puzzled, I padded onwards, mitten hardly making a sound upon the terra. Thoughts spiraled back to the lady, and suddenly I found myself asking Dris is an interesting name. Does it stand for anything? Lyrics were enquiring, yet I kept my gaze fixed ahead, harks processing sounds idly as my mind spun in circles. After a moment, I turned to look at her, noting an air of…..it wasn’t exactly excitement…..happiness surrounding her, plume knifing slowly through the air. Even as my earlier question leaves me lips, the next thought lies along a totally different track. It was wearying, and yet strangely liberating to swim amongst so many thoughts. I grin slightly. These are the northern pack lands. It is mostly covered by deciduous trees, as is the rest of the territory, I supply freely. It wasn’t exactly difficult to notice that the climate in these regions allowed deciduous forest to grow in abundance. The lands also house a river and various streams, I continue, deciding that basic information would not hurt, but perhaps the maiden would feel less cheated. I knew that she had realized her mistake, and had been annoyed at herself for it. I grinned. At least it didn’t only happen to me then. The nervous energy that had coursed through me earlier while lying had eased slightly, yet I was used to racing across this stretch of land, pushing myself to the limits, seeing how long it would take, how far up the mountain slope I would before I was panting heavily. We were drawing close to the edge of the forest, the pack’s boundary already evident. A flat expanse of barren, scrubby land stretched before us, before the terra began its steep incline. Unable to contain my longing for running any longer, I halt, turning directly towards the maiden. I shall meet you at the incline, I say, orbs gleaming with pure joy at the thought of running. See you later. With a last playful grin, I spun on my haunches and powered off, heading for my destination. Long body pressed close to the ground, muzzle slicing through the air, I streaked across the lands as I had so often done: a silver-blue arrow beneath a silver-blue sky.
Dris()Gait continued to carry bliss filled carcass across the hard packed earth in effortless bounds, each stride causing the lass to float over the soil, mittens barely making a sound as they touched down lightly with their under pads. Pouty like expression crossed features as she realized the drake was not at her side and was forced to slow the pace. After all, Niravadhi was supposed to be leading her around the territory he called his own, not the other way around as she knew little of the particular area in question. Beat picked up in rhythm as the baron settled again into the soft rocking motion beside her. Smile played once more across ink stained kissers as the lady opened her mind again to the ecstasy of the activity, swamping her mind in its pleasure till nothing else remained except this physical joy. Merely a moment had passed before masculine lyrics broke through the haze and drug the damsel back into the present, the sudden knowledge of the duke's presence being obvious. Dome tilted slightly as she pondered upon his question, rolling her own name over her tongue many times before parting jaws to let out the answer that had formed. To my knowledge, no. The title of Dris means nothing, but that answer may differ if you were to by chance stumble upon my dam and ask her. Sarcastic chuckles rang like wedding bells from the maiden's maw, the thought of the poor baron running into her mother, the being who had taught Dris all that she knew, drawling a very amusing minds picture for the fatal. Skull shook as the laughter subsided, mind wandering off in the direction that the male had now pointed her in. Ah, her mother. How long it had seemed since the last time she had spoken with her idol, her hero. Born to a loveless pair, the fea's mother had lived much like her daughter had; wandering constantly and caring little for the well being of others. Although there is much in common between parent and offspring, it would be unfair to compare the two. Dris in character had a much harsher life and had never known her father all of her childhood while her mother had lived a good year with each of her parents before they each disappeared. The small well of sadness within the vixen grew into a dull heartache at the thought of her long gone predecessor. Of course, it was still possible for her to run into her ancestor, the phenomenon was most unlikely and she dared not to hope for it. Perhaps the gods would one day shine pity upon each of the distressed baroness and see it fit to reunite the pair. Tiara shook again as tones from the other punctured the thoughts, stopping them in their tracks. Attention turned back to the lord as he described the landscape, actual representations showing up to give the essa a firsthand account of the lands. Despite the fact that no rivers or streams were seen, she trusted his word of the fact and allowed pace to slow slightly as they reached the hilltop, limbs eventually coming to a pause as gaze drifted out to the land before her. It was beautiful, in a rugged, disheveled sort of way. Definitely an acquired taste for one to get used to, but the wench found it suited to the rough roan wolven that stood by her side. Cranium swung his way as a delighted spark flashed into his azure orbs and challenge was issued as an undertone for utterances that spoke of another matter. Knives glistened in the sun’s rays as a smile of daring pulled on cheek bones, sable frame rushing forward as haunches pushed against the earth, tossing up tiny red clouds of dust in the process of propelling the lass forward. Position matched the other's stride for stride, neck and skullary level with slightly protruding shoulder blades as they rolled in interchangeable motions, first one, and then the other. Pink lulled out of the side of parted jowls, little care for the dirt clinging upon the ribbon's wet surface as she ran, leaving her past at the hill top behind them.
Niravadhi::A soft smile of amusement played across my features as I ran across the flat, firm ground, accompanied by two shadows. Orbs flickered from side to side, glancing at the two dark shapes beside me, locking me in. But I had only to fear one, for the other was my own shadow; the one that had, and would, follow me to the ends of the earth. Limbs stretched effortlessly, long stride fluid and elastic, my regular rhythm engrained so deeply in my being that I ceased to think about it, forelegs stretching out automatically, before haunches tucked beneath the bodice to power the next striding. Bemused, and somewhat bewildered, I noticed the maiden keeping pace with my own. That too, was unusual. I grinned. Perhaps the life of a loner conditioned the varg in such a manner so as to see him fit to run. But even as the thought appeared in my mind, I cast it aside, letting it be shredded in the wind created by the pair of lupines racing across the plain. Runners, such as I was a runner, were not common. To run properly, easily, one needed to be engineered in the correct manner. I frowned. Now that I thought about it, it seemed that femora’s were more likely to be built in the streamlined manner that facilitated running. I grinned wryly. Well, this was one thing I would never want to change. The tattoo, beat upon the skin of the earth by the large pedestals that held my weight, was regular within each contact of flesh on terra resounding in a gentle thud that determined my breathing. Over the years, I had mastered the art of breathing while running. I had used run, limbs in one rhythm, breath in another. Soon, I had realized that this just made the task all the more strenuous. Kissers parted slightly, as lungs exhaled on the next beat. Then one beat of nothingness, just empty lungs waiting to be filled with the particles that allowed my body to function as my body was suspended in the air for a moment. Then padders made full contact one more, and airway opened, sucking in the vital oxygen. One stride of holding the breath in, allowing the oxygen to begin its journey into my bloodstream and through by body, and then the whole process again….and again…..and again. This breathing rhythm had also become automated, I mused, for I had long since stopped thinking about that too. Now I was free to let my body transport itself, providing for itself, while my mind was free to wander. Twisting my dome to view the maiden beside me, I was somewhat surprised to find her keeping pace. But it was a pleasant surprise, and as my gaze locked with hers, a grin caused my kissers to part further. This was interesting: highly interesting. Turning back to face my destination, I realized that we had covered two thirds of the distance. Somehow, the time seemed much shorter than usual. Mentally, I shook my head, knowing that to do so physically could easily result in a loss of rhythm. And a loss of rhythm meant a waste of energy as the rhythm had to be established from scratch again. I glanced upwards, the sun’s rays barely catching my lanterns, and setting them ablaze in fiery hues of blue. My mind was suddenly, blissfully numb, wiped clear by the passion of running that had suffused my entire being. Thoughts could come and bother me later. Correction, they would come and bother me later. Drawing closer to the large rock that marked the beginning of the incline, I watched the clouds scud across the sky, racing the two small beings far below them. Idly, I wondered whether I should sprint the final stretch, yet something held me back. The pacing I had now seemed so wholesome, so calming, I didn’t want to alter it. I had sprinted earlier, I tell myself, gait remaining even, muscles working steadily, waiting for the next instructions. The rock barely six strides ahead of me, its shadow cast in my direction, I issue my next command, haunches bunching neatly beneath my carcass, sending me upwards more than onwards as I slowed neatly, coming to a smooth halt, level with the marker post. Wordlessly I glanced at the maiden that had kept me company, before turning my gaze towards the slope before me. It was not a long climb, this first mountain. Truthfully, it was little more than a rocky hill. Yet courtesy won out, as I spoke once again. If you feel up to it, we can begin the climb. I indicated the direction with my muzzle, knowing the fae would barely refuse a challenge. So much like me, I muse. So much like me.
Dris()Winds blew sooty locks all sorts of ways as the damsel raced side by side with the baron, finding it no strain at all to keep up with his elongated strides. Glance was snuck towards him as she watched the way his mechanics worked, triceps and biceps always working in a continuous pattern that never broke. It was interesting to see what she must look like when she was running on another varg, body systems working in a joint effort to keep pace even. Although the pair of wolves had to have been pushing their speed to the limit, neither seemed to tire the further they went, the down slope of the previous hill helping along with the situation as they need not work as hard. Tape was pulled back into death trap as smoky orbs continued to focus on the roan drake at her side, not the footing before her. And so, it was not surprising when the gods decided to pull another prank upon the fatal by placing a small rock, no bigger than the lady's paw, in her path. Of course, strides had to place her in the perfect position to stumble upon it, instead of carrying her petite bodice over the meager danger as they could have. Mitten slammed against the pebble and pain instantly shot up her limb, step faltering as she tumbled to the ground just before reaching their intended destination. Jaws clenched to the point where her own crimson started to ooze forth from tender gums as the maiden suppressed a piercing yelp. Frame rolled to a stop and she continued to lay there for a few moments as the shock began to wear away, ribcage moving up and down frantically as she gasped for air to enter her lungs. Dome moved to where vision could see the other lupine a little ways off, but the dust kicked up by her mishap blocked her orbs from seeing whether or not he had noticed her fall. Damn it. The fea seemed to be making many mistakes lately with this baron around. Perhaps the gods decided to curse her for her earlier instinctive advance upon the male when he had exposed his flank to her. Great. Just perfect that she would run into a being favored by the gods for whatever reason. Low groan moved forth from cage as physique rolled up, underbelly now resting against the rocky earth, mind gathering everything about the essa before stilts pushed her to the stand. Quick strides brought her easily to the lord's side, slate pools avoiding his features at all costs, embarrassment at her foolishness rising thick within her frame. What she had done was stupid. Too stupid for a creature trained so diligently by such hard working and wise mother. Oculars turned instead to the small incline before them, crown tilting slightly before lobes flickered and the tones of the other entered their passageways. Disdainful expression jerked his way, slits narrowing as he indicated some weakness might be present within her form. Of course I feel up to it. Were you foolish enough to think that I would not be? A simple fall does not affect me as much as you may think. The trek was inconsiderable anyway. I would be up to it even if I had injured myself. Muzzle turned back to the hill before them with a driven look upon her features, mittens moving out and carrying torso upward as they did, the small discomfort caused by her previously hurt pad being ignored as she ascended the slope. No glance was taken back at the other as she continued to climb, reaching the top in no time it seemed and only then finally allowing neck to bend as tiara turned to look over the vixen's shoulder, gems easily settling on Nira as he followed behind her.
Niravadhi::Somewhat confused, I realized there had been a short lag in the arrival of the fae, yet only a few scarlet drops upon her maw indicated anything out of place. Thus, her harsh words had shocked me, for it had not crossed my mind that she had fallen or been injured. I had merely spoken in such a manner, knowing that pride would not allow the maiden to refuse, and thus I would be able to continue the way I had intended to come. The teasing smile almost upon my kissers, as I was about to speak, her grim features and words hit home, immediately masked with concern. It was not exactly concern that she had injured herself, but more concern that I had managed to offend her, and thus the relatively pleasant time we had spent in each other's company had been ruined. Silently, I watched as she strode up the incline, her form tense as she made her way to the summit. She was almost halfway to the top, when I suddenly leapt into action, bounding forwards to scramble up the slope, small pebbles rolling from beneath my paws as limbs worked to push my structure after the maiden. When the separation between us had diminished significantly, I slowed, settling into an even stride as I picked my way after the fae, her ebonite form barely seven lengths ahead of me. Had I had the will, I could easily have closed the gap, yet I feared to annoy her further. As we neared the summit, a worrying though crossed my mind, causing me to slow my pace. I did not know what to say to her, once we arrived at the top, and I hated awkward silences. Apprehensive of arriving at the top with nothing to say, only uneasiness between the two of us, I padded slowly after the fae, the distance between us increasing once more. In thought, I watched her form carefully; trying to determine the best way to mend the broken thread that had connected us briefly while we had ran. Thus, in my scrutiny, I noticed the slight favoring of her forelimb as she reached the summit in a few final strides. I doubted that she had been grievously hurt, and if she had, she would do her best to deny it. Yet that newly found information did not help me in my predicament. Biting my lip, I made my way slowly up the slope, unconsciously following the tracks of the lady in black. I kept my head bowed, harks flattened slightly against my crown, as I crossed the final patch of terrain to join my companion atop the hill. Unable to help myself, I glanced in her direction, before pulling my gaze away, and focusing it upon the land that we had just traversed. The forest of Forest Rain stood in the distance, a large green mass reaching the horizon. Before it, the dusty plain covered in rocks and scrubs. And finally, the hill we had just climbed. It wasn’t exactly a climb, I mused, since neither of us had had to concentrate particularly hard on our footing, nor were our breaths labored. Without turning, I knew the landscape that stood at our backs by heart, the tall, ragged mountains, steep-sloped and grim-faced, and yet all the more appealing to myself. Running salmon appendage across my maw, I watch the still land deep in thought. Perhaps I should turn back, yet my stubborn streak which had slowly begun to lie low, had reared its head once again, and the thought was crushed instantaneously. Maybe not, I think, slightly amused at finding myself talking to myself again. Something was possibly very wrong with me. Smile twitches at my kissers, as I argue with myself, orbs fixed unseeingly before me. Forcing myself to come to a conclusion, I turn to the lady. I would like a drink of water. There is a small stream not too far from here. Would you like to join me? I venture somewhat hesitantly, as mittens knead the ground slightly in anxiety. Pull yourself together, I scold myself, yet to no effect. Hopeful expression written clearly on my features, as I force myself to keep my gaze steady, and fixed upon her façade, rather than breaking the eye contact.
