He could not register the peculiar feeling that he got as he drove away, followed by the weird visions. None that made sense as it had never happened to him before and the book in which he had read spoke nothing of it. These would be something else to consider when he went out of town this weekend. For now, none of it made sense but it also caused him to be rather tense. There was some energy near by that was causing him to be like so but he could not understand that either. All these factors frustrated him since he had no clue what was going on and such experiences had never happened before. He was restless for the remainder of the night and even as he was able to drift off into an inconsistent sleep. Rather disgruntled as he woke up, he grudgingly prepared for school and slipped out the door to saunter to the motorcycle after slipping the helmet on his head. When he arrived at the high school parking lot, he was suspicious that her car was not there but there was always the chance for her to be at an appointment or such. Still as he went into second period she was not there and he was starting to wonder. She could have had something come up but he was not certain after what he had personally gone through the night before. When they were dismissed for lunch he chose to leave for the day, even though it was practically pointless because the girl was most likely fine and he was not supposed to be worrying anyhow. He sort of felt strange while checking the apartment garage and then realized that this was very weird, not just for his personality, but in general. He was considering returning to the school or occupying his time some other way but instantly stopped as the strange aura hit him, causing his entire body to be on edge. Then he could not help but making his way up the stair case in large, quick strides to find police tape over the door. That could have meant anything since no one really knew what anyone in this town was ever up to, but he knew otherwise since he was on edge even more then before. Stopping momentarily to stop the throbbing in his head he quickly moved away when he heard someone coming and did not want to come off looking suspicious. Thinking better of wasting the remainder of his day at school. he contemplated leaving early for the weekend but decided against it since he was unaware of what exactly had happened to the girl. He barely caught a glimpse of the familiar locks and made a rather tight turn into a parking lot before climbing off the bike and setting the helmet aside. He did not even have to see her face to recognize the girl seeing as there were very few with hair like hers. Plus there was always the presence of her that stirred something within him. Hands dropped from her shoulders as she looked up at him and appeared fine after whatever had happened to her. Though she did look tired from something else. Listening to her in silence as she explained of someone breaking into her apartment as well as her suspicions of who it was he responded with a nod. It made sense to him yet it was not the answer he wanted to hear since he had a feeling it had to do with him again. She told him it wasn't a big deal but he had other thoughts and then she called it a blessing since it would make her mother move on. We're going to find your dad. He uttered quietly, knowing that would help her the most and then they would both be able to move on. He was going to have to stick around to help her with that and then he could disappear. If she had her dad again, she would be safe as well as have someone to confide in when it came to her powers. She wouldn't have to worry about her mother, either. And then Rylen would be able to move on since he would be aware of the fact that she would be protected. Now all of his questions were answered when it came down to this. He was going to have to help and keep her out of trouble to make things easier for the both of them. Brow rose as she then questioned why he was not at school and shoulders rose and fell in response. Personal reasons. Chuckle accompanied the words with a crooked grin since he would have looked like a complete fool if he were to admit to the reason in which he had skipped the remainder of the day. He could barely handle the reaction she caused, let alone admit to what he did because of her and worrying about her. None of that was in his character, at any time. Will you get in trouble if you go missing for a while? One more ride on the motorcycle? I know you liked it yesterday.Lyrics taunted with a mischievous look in his eyes as he waited patiently for the girl's reply.

She knew that the break in had been related to them in some manner though she did not want to piece it together in order to scare herself. She could feel that this was not going to be the last time though. She knew that she would be seeing her attacker again and she was determined this time to be ready. She needed to be confident in her powers and not just hope that when she was in trouble that they would come to her rescue since she knew that she might not be as fearful the next time it happened since she was expecting it. She needed to practice and that was all there was to it. So that night she fell into a deep sleep that she remained in for a long while until about three in the morning when she was wide awake. No matter how many times she rolled over she could not manage to close her eyes again and it was just getting her more and more frustrated so she had an idea. As she passed out of the hotel room she was careful to make sure that her mother did not wake up. She spotted in the kitchen a small fire extinguisher which would be a needed asset at the moment. She slipped a dark hoody on over top of her clothes and settled with the sweat pants she had worn to be before she making sure that the even breathing of her mother continued to be just that, even and steady. She took one of the keys as well as her car keys and stepped out the door of the hotel locking it behind her to ensure that her mother was protected while she was gone though she did not expect it to be for too long. The rest of the hotel was silent as she stepped out into the cold air of the night. Spring seemed to be coming though very slowly so she did not look out of place with the clothes that she was wearing, though anything at this time would look out of place. When she stepped into her car she spotted flashing lights of a police car down the side of the road and she vowed not to get stopped by them or pass by them since the car seemed to draw a lot of attention to itself and not only that she did not want to have to try to explain what she was doing at this time of the night. She was lucky and it seemed to be working in her favour tonight as she made her way to the well known bar that she had been at with Rylen the night before. She did not park anywhere near the parking lot though since it might be under watch from the people around though she did not know anywhere else where she would be able to carry out her intentions. She parked beside an abandoned building just out of an alleyway and was satisfied that her car could not be seen from anywhere where a person might walk by. It was rather silent as strides carry her though the dark alley and she turned into a jog as she reached where they had hid the night before in the abandoned warehouse building and she sat cross legged in the corner that was not visible from either the bar or the road with the fire extinguisher in her lap. Any other person would be terrified to come back to a place like this when something had happened to them the night before though she knew that it would be the best place to be since the thug from the night before would not think that she was stupid enough to come back to the same location. It was the least suspecting place. She cleared her mind and found that it was easier then she thought even though there had been so much that had happened in the last little while. Once her mind was clear she then focused on the fire, the strength and warmth that luckily she had felt before just never instigated. It took her a moment to call on that and she tried to remember where the source had started though before anything even started to happen it was snuffed out to coldness once again. She continued like this for another two hours and by the end of this session she was able to cause small flames to dance in the palms of her hands though she was so exhausted. She returned back to the car and noticed that it was left completely untouched. She drove back to the hotel to fall into bed for the next hour and awake before her mother to go get breakfast and start out the day before she finally grew tired of sticking around the room all day and managed to get a break when her mother fell asleep for a nap and she took a walk to the park and was greeted by Rylen. She was strangely relieved to see him since it was just a reminder that he was still here and had not disappeared for the time being. When she felt his hands move to her shoulders she remained still beneath the touch despite the feeling that passed through her and made her want to melt beneath the touch, she would not give him the satisfaction of this though. He told her that they would find her father though sometimes she really wondered if she wanted to find him. So much had changed since she had seen him. She dismissed this since she was sure that she would love to see him again and soon the subject was changed anyways when she asked him why he was not at school and he uttered that it had been personal reasons and she nodded with a small grin before dropping the subject. When he offered her a ride on his motor cycle again she smiled. I would love to. I have no obligations today. She knew that her mother would sleep until sometime in the late evening and then just get up to make her something to eat. She accepted the helmet when it was offered and stepped easily over the back of the bike to wrap arms around him once again.

The more he thought of how finding her father might help, the more he liked the idea until he actually spoke it aloud to have her completely nonchalant about it. Now he was not sure how things between her family were going. Anyway, the decision was really up to her and maybe she did not want him trying to pry into her life and help. Hands dropped from the girl's shoulders awkwardly although it had originally been nice to have the electric feeling that happened basically whenever they had contact. Having an idea he then brought up the idea of her coming with him on the motorcycle with him and chuckled at the smile before mirroring it as she stated she would love to and was free of engagements. He nodded before walking over with her and handing her the helmet before getting on himself. Once more grin crossed features as her arms encircled his abdomen. Since she did not have a specific time frame, he did choose to take the scenic route, rather curious to see whether or not she would complain or even notice later. Paying attention to speed limits for his passenger's benefits, he maneuvered with ease throughout the town before finally finding the back road which lead them later to a cove of the local lake, a small dock jutting out into the water as well. During the summer it was more of a secret hang out for swimming but now it was a rather somber and private place with a nice view. Stepping from the motorcycle he walked along the shore to chuck a few rocks into the lake, leaving ripples as they skipped across the surface. Before long, the male grew bored of this motion and then went to sit along the dock, elbows resting on his knees and fingers rubbing into his temples. Larae, it's killing me, not being able to understand why things work between us they way they do. Unaware of where she was, gaze settled upon the reflections as they danced upon the water's surface. I just don't get it. He mumbled to himself, reclining back with his hands behind his head to lay upon the wooden platform. Closing his eyes for a bit he thought of something to say so opened them and locked in her direction. Can I come with you on Thursdays, to make sure you don't get killed? I'll find a better way to hide myself and look less suspicious. He stated light heartedly with a small chuckle. I can help, seriously. He was dangerously close to revealing secret truths about himself and was not overly conscious of the fact as he was not being as guarded now as usual. Still he refused to let himself slip up completely because that could quickly turn to turmoil and ruin absolutely everything. Oh, and I think I'm going to postpone my trip for next week. I have to work extra this weekend. Lies ran smoothly from his mouth since it was not at all true and he was only staying due to what had recently happened to her apartment. Silently he was trying to configure a way to watch over her without being suspicious. The type she was dealing with would not easily be scared, despite her powers and he knew exactly how to take care of such creatures. And most likely if he were to explain her the truth, she would deny the need for help so therefore he knew better than to tell her straight. Climbing to his feet, grey eyes fell upon the girl with a foreign gentleness to them. Curiosity urged him on as finally he paused before her, fingers gently pushed away a strand of chestnut hair. Hesitating, he then leaned down to allow his lips to brush across hers, this time finding much more pleasure than when it had happened briefly in the closet to shut him up. However he was quick to pull away, entirely uncertain of his actions as well as her own reaction. Now he was in the perfect position to get slapped or verbally chewed out from her and he was not sure how she would feel. Because of such an action he had definitely overstepped his boundaries that normally he would have been careless about but this was between him and Rae. In silence he took a small step back, his thoughts in a complete blur as hands returned to his sides. Conscience nagged at him, reminding him of the dangers that this small encounter could cause, especially what it could lead to and those of previous entanglements. Her arm, her apartment; they were both his fault. Even though he wanted to push her away, he was the one that always found his way back to her. And his desire to be around her was very dangerous and he was calculating what exactly it would take for him to disappear completely as well as forget her since he could not ignore the acknowledgement of her presence. Feeling absurd he walked away silently to sit on the motorcycle. Just let me know if you want to leave and if there is anywhere you would like to go. Quiet tones murmured in her direction, thinking with a nonchalant expression.

She was not too sure why she was having mixed feeling about her father right now. Perhaps it was because she was still learning to control her powers and she was not too sure if she wanted to know the extent it was going to change her life. She liked being the only one in on the secret and her mother had gone through so much time healing from her fathers disappearance would it be easy for her to just accept him back into her life like nothing had happened? What if they found out that he was dead like she thought? Even though in her mind she had already settled with that it did not have the finality of actually finding it out for sure. She knew that he noticed that she was not sold on the idea of finding her father but luckily he did not comment on it and let the subject drop. He seemed to be just as thrilled that she agreed to come with him on the motor cycle and mirrored the grin handing her the helmet that she had worn the past two days now and she placed it on her head adjusting it until the strap under her chin was tight before climbing into the motor cycle and remembering the words from yesterday for her to hang on tight and arms were wrapped around him. She did notice that he was heading the long way around town and believe it or not it was more enjoyable to her then just the direct route to a place where she had never been. It looked like quite the little place with the small dock jutting out into the water. It was stunning, and she assumed that in the summer it would be a popular hang out for people their age to probably have large crackling bonfires. This caused a warm feeling to spread through her entire body and she instantly was able to snuff it out, she had the illusion that she had a little more control over her powers. Little did she know how wrong she was. He walked along the shore for a moment to throw a couple rocks into the water and she watched then as they skipped across the glassy surface to disturb the tranquility of the water. He sat on the dock and she joined him, she was a little farther down close to the end as she then hung her legs over the edge and looked to him as he spoke about not being able to understand what was happening between the two of them. Not everything needs an answer Rylen. It is the way it is for a reason and that’s the way it is. Isn’t that enough? She asked gently. She was not too sure if she agreed with it but it was just a thought, did there need to be an explanation for everything sometimes things were a little more special when there was no rhyme or reason behind it. I don’t understand it either but at the same time I am in no rush to find out too much. She uttered gently letting gaze be lost to the waves that rippled lightly against the wood of the dock. He leaned back until he was laying on the deck and looked strangely peaceful especially for himself. The mood was lightened as the next comment was made asking if he would be able to come with her for the Thursdays since it seemed as though that was when the bad things seemed to happen to her. A small chuckle was released as smile was then directed towards him. We could arrange that. She uttered gently. He told her that he was not going to be going on the trip this weekend and she nodded lightly not too sure what to think of that since he seemed so set on it yesterday so what had changed in the matter of 24 hours when she knew that the last time he had been at the garage had been yesterday and they did not look overly starved for work, though she was not going to question him and ruin what seemed to be so easy between the two of them. She stood as he did the same assuming that he was going to be leading her somewhere and was surprised when he then moved a lot closer. Breath hitched in the back of her throat with the close proximity and the way that it was affecting her. When he reached out to her she was even more surprised then she had been when he had moved closer to her. So when hand brushed back a stray lock that had fallen in front of her features she stayed frozen and planted to the spot. This kiss that they now shared had completely different dynamics. There was no ulterior motive to it. It was not to quiet either one of them and to say she enjoyed it would be an understatement though she knew that she could not let this show upon telltale features. As he pulled away she longed to simply close the distance between them again and let the electric feeling that passed between them to rule out whatever else passed between them. What happened with them was so complicated but for that moment it had felt so simple. As he turned back towards the motorcycle she followed him and managed to finally catch his arm just before he reached it. I don’t want to leave. And I have something to show you, it would be better on the dock though. She did not drop the grip that she had on his arm as she then walked to the dock to sit on the end, in the middle of the dock she was sure that there was enough fire that even if a fire started they would be able to put it out. First of all. Gentle touch was aimed towards the males jawline as face was brought close to his again and lips were allowed to meet his hesitantly. She no longer protested such an action for the way that it made her feel, would anything ever happen between them? Probably not, there was too much baggage for that. She then turned her attention at what she was going to show him. I practiced last night. I think I have more control now. Eyes were closed but this time she was not able to get her mind clear she was thinking too much about what had just happened between the two of them and yet she tried to summon it anyways and fire ended up jumping to her arm that was covered in a light hoody, this she did not realize right away until she was unable to put it out even when patting it she was terribly frustrated as she quickly discarded her shoes on the dock and jumped into the water below as it seemed to be climbing closer to her face. Well it worked last night. She said with a sigh as she then realized that she was going to be freezing now that she was soaked.

Originally when they drove away he had no idea where to go but then the idea of returning to one of the places he had discovered a few months back came to mind. It was a little hidden and out of the way yet he was sure it was quite popular during warmer months. Now however, they were able to enjoy it alone although normally he was not one for company and he would have never though of himself actually liking the idea of having Larae in his company. Right now when they were not fighting there was a small flame in between them and he could not pin how it made him feel. Gaze darted along the water as at the ripples caused by the rocks as they skimmed along the lake. Many times it was an action he did alone when he was overcome by thought which he currently was thinking yet not isolated at the moment. Without looking at her, he could feel the girl near him as well as the fact that she was watching him. Then as he stepped upon the dock he heard the sound of footsteps along the wooden planks and said nothing as she sat further away from him.He allowed himself to ponder aloud and was silent as she voiced her opinion on the matter. The statement of not everything having an answer was true despite the fact that he did not like it personally. When it came to everything, he wanted an answer and a straightforward one at that. Hearing of how everything happened for a reason it took a lot for the male not to bristle at that. He'd witnessed horrid things, many times when the fate was at his own finger tips and they all happened for a reason. He gritted his teeth at this fact not wanting to think of what had happened because of him as well as those around him. Looking up as she questioned if it was enough to know this fact, he fell silent and went without answering. She told him she did not understand it either yet she did not really want to find out. Part of him yearned to find out the truth behind this and the remainder of him was hesitant because he was almost positive that the answer would not fall under his definition of good. Lids were allowed to shut as he leaned back and let the stressful thoughts drift to the back of his mind for awhile. Opening an eye as he made his request, he nodded with a quiet chuckle as she spoke of it being possible to be arranged. Good. Syllable was spoken quietly. He took a moment before telling her that his trip was to be postponed. He was relieved that she was not suspicious of this fact. Another thing he could not quite grasp was how protective he was of her which led to him postponing the trip just to make sure things were okay. After recent events he was not quite sure whether or not he should leave the town seeing as she had not yet mastered her powers. At the last moment a thought occurred to him and he took slow steps in the girl's directions not sure at all how this was going to work out. She was completely still as he pushed away the strand of hair and then he considered stopping himself but did as planned anyway. For once around her, he was freed of all previous considerations and felt whatever that was between them smolder into something a little more simplistic and personal. Not allowing the moment to last too long he stepped away and was unable to detect any emotion across her face which caused a bit of rage to try and overtake his own emotions but he refused to allow it do so. Features were not allowed to display any of his own feelings on what had just happened since he was not going to give in and let her go on as if nothing had happened. Not long after he had turned away had she grabbed his arm and led him away while telling him she was not ready to go and wished to show him something. Brow arched in plain curiosity but he went without speaking. Sitting beside her he was surprised as she then placed her hand along his jaw and lips met hers once again though this time at her initiative. As she soon pulled away he swallowed slightly, focusing on whatever it was that she intended on showing him. She commented about practicing and he watched her intently, wondering exactly how her powers worked and to what exact extent. Though he did not speak as she looked to be focusing on whatever she was trying to do and he sat respectfully in silence as she tried to summon the strength provided from being a witch. He was about to state something as the flame flickered along her arm and she was already aware and swatting at it which did no use. He was about to help as she had already discarded her shoes and jumped into the water. Rather confused about what had just happened, he kept himself from laughing since she appeared already flustered with her mishap. As she was keeping herself afloat in the water, he frowned and pulled the sweatshirt over his head so it would remain dry as he carefully pulled her back onto the dock. Frown crossed the male's face as she told him it had worked the night before and a shrug overtook his shoulders. It's going to take time. Knowing it would be much to cold to take her on the motorcycle in her current state, he handed the sweatshirt in her direction before getting up to walk away and to give her privacy. Rocks were arranged in a circle as a fire pit from a few months back and he gathered a few twigs and stuff from the bushes near by. Lighter ignited into a small flame and it took a bit for the brush to catch since they were a bit damp from the day prior. Soon his thoughts were clouded by what he had just provoked and how it had already led to her kissing him a second time, well third if the one in the closet actually counted. There was no way he could continue with her like this and then allow the chance of leading her on. He knew with the way he was letting things progress that it would be difficult for him to step back which he thought to be very necessary. Right now he was mainly concerned of her getting sick due to her little "swim". Flames started to crackle as they engulfed the contents of the ring and he soon had to add some more branches as well. A log was rolled over by the fire and he sat on it, gaze staring into the flames as he tried to process words to say that would not get either of them back into a fighting stage.

The tolerance of the male that she had previously deemed a nuisance was something that she was going to have to get used to. She did not like the thought of letting her guard down to the point where he might be able to see into her true feelings and expose her. She knew that he was on his best behavior though he could still be her demise. He knew the truth about her and she was not too sure if he was one to trust about the situation, she knew that he was not a mortal either though she had no proof and she did not even know what he was nor did she think that he was going to tell her anytime soon. What she hated the most about the situation though was that no matter her feelings about him at the time there was a spark that seemed to always be present between the two of them. An attraction that she had only read about, there was no use in denying it since she knew that he felt it as well but she was not ready to admit it. He seemed to be overly aware that she was watching him as he was skipping stones across the lake though right now he was the only thing that was dynamic. As he walked onto the planks of the dock she followed and took a seat as he did the same. With his personality she knew that he wanted everything to be laid out in front of him with an explanation but unfortunately it was not all that simple and something like this would never have a simple answer that he was looking for. She had come to realize that when she found out she was a witch where before she had thought it was impossible. She was glad when he decided not to make a comment about it though and simply just sat there since she knew that she would not like what would have come out of his mouth and then they would have to turn back into enemies and start getting at eachothers throats again since this getting along thing was going to be short lived it seemed no matter how hard each of them tried to get along with one another. He seemed to change to be in a little better mood when the joke was made and she stated that it would be possible and could be arranged when she was sure that he would have thought that she would reply being a prude and taking it as less than a joke. Heart raced in her chest as she had already stood to be back on her feet when he then moved in her direction and she was not too sure of what was going on but knew that it was going to change things between the two of them, especially when he reached up to touch the strand of hair that had falled stray from the rest of the locks and brushed it back from her face and skin tingled beneath his tender touch causing her to long to be closer to him and feel more of where it came from. It did not matter right now that they did not get along all that matter was that he had just touched her and despite her not wanting to, she liked it and longed for yet another moment of contact. He was not finished with just that though. As his lips pressed to hers she was so shocked that he had been the one to instigate this that she knew that it was a bad call when her face was devoid of any emotion when he pulled back and she could see the small flash of something that could be deciphered as rage when he tried to read her expression and she felt terrible since she knew that she had felt the exact same thing in which had drawn him to do this. The kiss in the closet even though it had been fought and so brief she had felt something powerful between the two of them and this time it was even more influential. Breathing was a little more rapid as heart pumped heavily to fuel nerve endings that were on high alert. When he walked to the motor cycle again she grabbed his arm and he allowed himself to be lead back to where they had been on the dock before and he looked curious about what she told him she was going to show him. Though when she decided to test the waters again with another kiss she knew that this was only going to complicate things as if this, whatever this was, between them was not complicated enough. She was glad that she had chosen the middle of the water for this trick since she was tired not only from not getting enough sleep the night before but from using the powers that she was trying to control so when she summoned them this time it was more raw and less controlled then it had been when she had been in the abandoned warehouse. She managed to summon the flame that licked at her arm. He watched and looked as though he was about to help her before she lost her shoes and jumped into the water the only salvage around. Her frustration soon turned to laughing as she realized what had happed and the humour in it all. His hand was offered to her to help her get back to the dock which she took but she was light and agile and able to get back onto the wood herself. She then slipped up and told him that she had been practicing the night before when she had vowed to not allow anyone to know that, that was going to be her own little secret. He told her that it would take time and she nodded. He handed her the sweatshirt. Thanks. She uttered gently. He walked away so that she would be able to change out of her shirt that was now wet and into the sweatshirt he had given her to wear, she knew that no one else was around so she peeled the clothing from her upper body and exchanged it for the warmth of the other one before walking the small distance to where he was building the fire in the fire pitt that had been assembled probably sometime during the summer. She rubbed her hands together to get them warm as knees were bent and body sunk into the log where he was seated at in silence.

No matter what threatened to happen between the two of them he knew nothing would ever become of it. Simply because he would not allow it, yet alone could anyone stand the temperamental personality he held. But even he could not deny the static electricity between the duo at the smallest of things when they were getting along. Always, things for him had to be complicated in one way or another. Already he was in too deep with the girl and he knew the sooner he sorted things out the better. Last time he had accidentally got too involved with a teenage girl, it had not ended well. Actually it had ended in disaster and he closed his eyes at the memory. Every time he heard about how history repeated itself, he vowed against it. Yet here he was, letting it happen again all too easily. Even clouded with these depressing thoughts he could not help himself but to savour the brief kiss that passed through them, this time at her discretion. Once more he did not allow expression to break his features seeing as she had not nor was he willing to give in now. Sitting on the dock, he allowed her space for whatever it was that she was about to attempt. He was able to speculate about what she was about to try and when he caught on was when the fire was catching along her sleeve. She had said she'd been practicing which he believed yet it took a lot to control such powers. As he rushed forward it was not long before a splash interrupted the still water and she looked a bit irritated which was entirely understandable. However it was not long until he heard the sound of her laughing, cocked brow eyeing her suspiciously. He had suppressed his laughter early but now released a small chuckle in turn. Hand was offered and he was semi-surprised as she reached up to take it before scrambling on the dock. Having no personal powers in which he could actually summon, he just really assumed it would take time for her to master it. To him it made perfect sense. Hoodie was handed to her and he acknowledged the thanks with a brusque nod as strides carried him about to gather wood scraps he could salvage. The fire took a bit until it ignited the bushes entirely and he sat on one of the logs, glancing up from the dancing flames only at the sound of Rae's foot steps. When she had settled on the log, now adorned in his sweatshirt, he remained silent. Words really weren't easy to process at the moment nor did he know what to say. The observation was made after a while that she was dry and would be okay to return home, he kicked dust over the flames to suffocate them before starting up the motorcycle. Once he was positive she was ready to go and the helmet was adjusted he took off in the short route to return since she could get cold rather easily at the moment. How effortlessly this girl could mess with his head without trying amazed him. As a thought occurred to him he pulled off into a strip mall's parking lot to shut off the bike to be able to talk to her a moment. He shifted to sit sideways on the motorcycle to make his request. Would it bother you to go back to your apartment for a few minutes? I need to check something out there if it's alright with you. Brows furrowed at his own thought process having no idea what she would think of the inquisition. There was just that little nagging voice in the back of his head that would not put the idea at rest due to his own experiences recently. I'll explain later. At her approval, the ducati was started once more to change direction towards her apartment complex. During one stop light hand gently touched hers to check that she was fairing alright and not shivering as it was hard to tell even with how close the two currently where. The engine was cut as he parked in what was usually her mustang's spot he assumed since that was where he had seen it last. Figure stood from the bike to watch her while trying to register what she was going through. Earlier she had not come off as shaken at all but he was not sure now and would not force her to go or let him go if she felt uncomfortable in any way. Normally this was much too considerate for the male but he was not going to change his stature at the moment seeing as he actually needed her help in a sense at the current time. Something was bothering him and this little quick investigation would be the only thing that could possibly set his mind at ease. With an odd amount of patience he stood waiting for her to make any sort of action or say what she was going through.

In too deep, well to her there was not really anything to be into. Sure they kissed a couple times but with the lack of emotion portrayed by him he was moments from shutting them down and not allowing it to progress into anything and perhaps it was for the best. She could not help but feel close to him since they had some similarities that could not be ignored. Just the thought of never seeing him again possibly made her feel sick to her stomach since he was the one that she had been able to share all the secrets that she held dear to her. She could not will herself to show emotions that ran rampid through her body when their lips touched but they were so close to the surface that she was almost positive that he would be able to see how hard she was fighting to keep expression blank. He did the same though and she felt a little rejected something that seemed to be tied to him. She was not too sure what he was thinking when she told him that she had been practicing and it would be obvious that it would have been late at night and obviously somewhere where they was no one to see what she was doing which considering the latest events that she had been a part of was probably not the best idea. So many times she had reconsidered admitting that she needed help and going back to Ulrich though she was much too stubborn for that and after what the man had done to her it scared her off even wanting his help. When she landed in the water a glance was shot to him and he looked as though he was holding laughter in and she wondered why he was being so polite since before he had been such a rude jerk, she was the first one to laugh and soon he followed with a small chuckle that brought a smile to her lips. When he helped her up she was able to lift herself rather easily onto the dock where he handed her his sweat shirt before then turning his attention back to the area that the fires were started. He seemed to be tending to a fire so that she would not get cold on the ride home. She had not thought this out well since now they would have to stay here until she was at least a little drier. When she arrived at the pitt in the middle of the sand and she noticed that he was having a little trouble with starting the fire she was about to offer her powers but she knew how well it worked out last time and it was a long run to the water so she allowed him to struggle a little before it then lit, she took a seat on one of the logs that was not in the fire and stared out into the distance that was starting to turn a navy blue with the lack of light that seemed to be disappearing with the sinking of the sun on the horizon line. It was starting to get a little colder but not enough for her to be cold and she was dry by the time it really started to settle into a chill. He then lead the way back to the motor cycle. The dirt had been kicked over the flames and they were sputtering off as they walked and the glow of the embers was all that was left by the time that they made it to the vehicle. She took the helmet that she was getting used to and dropped it lightly onto her head not having to adjust it since she had been the one to wear it on the ride there. Arms we wrapped around his waist lightly as she was then moving closer to steal the warmth that he provided. He blocked her from most of the wind so she was warm beneath the sweatshirt she had been provided with. As they pulled to a stop brow was raised in his direction when he shifted sideways in the seat to ask her if it would be alright if they stopped at her apartment so that he would be able to check on something. As long as you try your best not to touch anything, they are still investigating and all I need is to have to bail you out of jail. She said with a cheeky grin. He told her that he would explain later and she nodded replacing her arms back around him before they then were on the way to the building that she knew like the back of her hand and he then parked in the spot that was vacant where she would usually park the Mustang. She stepped off the back of the motorcycle and placed the helmet on the seat as she searched through her pants pockets for the keys that she had luckily brought since the hotel key was now on the same chain. She did not show any emotion since she was not going to allow something like this to get her rattled. He seemed to be waiting for her so she stepped in the direction of the stairs when she then turned back to him. Coming? She enjoyed taking the stairs since they were not really that long and large door was pushed open with some force before she jogged up the flights and reached the top where another corresponding door was opened and the hallway was empty and she turned the key into the door, if anyone got suspicious she would tell them that she had returned to grab some medication that was needed and that she did not want to come alone so then it would be dismissed.

Eyes were rolled at her response to his request, now she was going to play around again. Chuckle was omitted as head was shaken. Naw, you would leave me and let me rot without a problem, don't deny it. Lopsided grin soon took over his expression as he looked towards her one last time. As long as touching you doesn't fall under the same punishment, I'll be fine. Without then waiting for her reply he turned out back onto the road to change directions until it was going towards her apartment. He was relieved to see that coming back did not seem to be bothering her since he knew some girls would get very emotional and clingy due to such occurrences. Yet he was finally beginning to realize that making comparisons between Rae and other girls was not going to get him anywhere. It was more likely that such thoughts would make him realize that there was a much stronger attraction to her then he wanted, a lot worse than he had originally estimated it to be. No objection was made to taking the stairs since elevators were slower a lot of the time actually and practically pointless with the use of two fully capable legs. He jogged up behind her and waited silently while she unlocked the door. Stepping in behind her, he thought the apartment to look normal until they continued on to find things smashed and in complete disaster. Things were torn apart and disarranged, glass shattered across the floor and miscellaneous items strewn everywhere. At first he was standing behind Larae until the binding of a book caught his attention. It was lying face down, the spine engraved with a script he recognized instantly, the title causing him to grimace in realization. His conscience had been right for once. That had meant the visions had been too. The book had not been the only thing he'd been able to "see" though. Eyes fell upon Rae's features, guarding the fear that was running through him. No, that could not be. They would not touch her. This incident had to be a coincidence, just as her arm had been. Silent rage erupted throughout the male's body as something caught his immortal instincts. Ulrich's book was grabbed since it was vitally necessary and he was doubtful that the police would even notice it since it had been lying beneath the couch mostly. This has to come with me. He muttered very quietly near her ear before grabbing along her arm to lead her out the door. That book had been all the evidence he needed to put his thoughts at ease but they had not since they were now more frantic than ever. After she had locked the door, he got uneasy at the sound of footsteps and rushed with her down the flights of stairs. Originally, he had not worried about getting caught since he was pretty good at getting out of things but there was no way to disguise the large book really. He knew he had said he would explain but right now he did not know how to explain. He passed her the helmet and left after she was on and holding around his torso once again. This time he took a short cut to the hotel and parked for a few minutes. I'll see you tomorrow at school. Those were his parting words since he had no explanation to her right now and had no idea how to actually tell her what he needed to. She was in obvious danger right now, even if she did not blame it upon him. Rylen returned to his apartment but could not find Ulrich, even after searching for the jeep and stopping into the local hideouts. Right now he knew he would not be able to sleep or even stop considering the girl's safety when she was so far away. He had one choice which was quickly decided upon. A small bag was packed of necessary things for school and he then set off back to her hotel, but parked the motorcycle behind another building so she would not know. Recalling the small numbers engraved on an extra key that dangled from her key ring, he assumed it to be the hotel room number. Gaze scanned the lobby to check that she was not about before stepping up to the front desk and paying for a room, specifically requesting one higher or lower than the number he had seen. This was definitely creepy but it was the only way he could actually not go into freak out mode. The rest of the night went by in a blur as he practically paced the perimeter of the room for hours until he was finally able to drift off into a restless sleep for a few select hours. By the time he woke up, it was early yet he still got ready for school in order to sneak out without her noticing. First period went by quickly and he walked in a few minutes before the bell in second hour only to sit down in his desk and stare blankly at the board. Eyes never wandered to the particular girl whom he'd been seeing too much of the past few days until the thoughts of a certain male were heard within his head. These thoughts instantly had him tense as he spotted the guy looking anxiously towards Rae's desk. But then again, Rylen had no right to be affected so by whatever might be going on between the other two. Arms folded across his chest and grey eyes made contact with the floor for the time being.

Eyes were rolled when he announced that he thought that she would have no problem allowing him to rot in jail though she did not comment knowing that perhaps if it had been a few days ago that would be the case. But now that they seemed to be sharing a common interest and he was helping her she was growing fonder of the annoying boy. The next statement caught her a little surprised when he uttered that as long as touching her did not fall under the same category then he would be fine. Like that would stop you. She uttered in soft lyrics though with their close proximity there was no way that he would not hear her. He then turned back to face the right way on the motor cycle and they were then on their way to the apartment that she had just recently vacated. Arms were held close around him, perhaps a little closer than she had the previous times and when they stopped at a light his hand moved to hers for a brief moment as if he was checking something before it was then brought back to control the bike. Soon enough they were parked in the parking lot in which she had spent many of her hours fixing the car and knew very well. It was something comfortable and familiar to her, she was not about to let the break in ruin that. While she knew that in the back of her mind that it was not random she wanted to think it was if it put her mind at ease. It was not a deluxe building and could have happened to any of the people that lived here, they happened to be the ones that were not home at the time. He seemed to be surprised that she was not overly affected by this all as she then asked if he was ready and did not even wait for an answer before jogging steps in an attempt to warm herself up took her towards the door that would lead to the flights of stairs. She was rather balanced as she jogged up the stairs and only had to reach out for the railings once to make sure that she did not trip on something. Most of the lights in the stairwell were burnt out making it look eerie and as if anything could be waiting for them right around the corner. She was very curious about why he wanted to look in the apartment but she simply kept going with the promise that he would explain things later, she would hold him to that. When they reached the door that was the only time that she hesitated and it was just for a split second that she was sure that he would not have even noticed. She then grabbed the key that had been placed back in her pocket for the jog up the stairs and pressed it into the lock and was relieved when the door still opened since she was not too sure if the locks would have been changed since there was not many signs of a forced entry the door had simply been open when she arrived home on the day that she found the house broken into, though she did not recall if she had told the police that or not. Needless to say that was not a big deal since there were larger things on the agenda as she allowed him into the house and took a step back to look over the mess herself. The day that they had gone to the hotel her mother had been adamant that she did not want to move back into the place, they would just clean it all up and sell it since she was too scared to return even if it was a place that meant the most to her since it brought back all the memories of her father. She did agree with the older woman though since perhaps that would mean that it would be time for her to get over the disappearance of her father and try to move on with her life. He seemed very interested in a large book that she had not noticed the time before and it was laying halfway under the couch and he announced that it had to come with him. Brow was raised slightly though she did not speak still intent knowing that he promised that he would tell her later what was going on. She trusted him enough for that. After a few moments in which he looked around the rest of the apartment though after finding the book he seemed content that that was what he had been searching for. Upon hearing steps in the hallway he then seemed antsy and ready to head back to the lower floor of the apartment building. She followed with light steps along the stairs. When they arrived at the base she then pushed the door open expecting an explanation which she did not get. She was not going to get in a fight with him and force it out of him though. With a disheartened feeling she grabbed the helmet and slipped it onto her head before then sitting back on the back of the motor cycle as she was becoming accustomed to lightly putting her arms around him but no where near as close as she had been the previous ride. She knew that he was taking the shortest route back to the hotel when they arrived in a matter of moments and she wondered what had changed his demeanor so much. When he uttered that he would see her at school tomorrow she just responded with a small nod before walking in the direction of the lobby of the hotel and taking the elevator up to the floor in which her and her mother were staying. She found that her mother was passed out in one of the beds when she arrived which she was glad about as she stepped into the shower and then crawled into the foreign bed. Tonight she did not awake during the night and slept soundly through to wake up to her alarm. Her mother tried to convince her to not go to school but it would be a nice break and with a promise that she would be back right away after she left for the morning. She arrived just as the bell was about to ring and jogged to her first class. The first class was a blur though she did come to a decision, she did not need Rylen’s help anymore. She was in too deep with him and he knew too much, she would continue her investigations without him. Sure it would be much harder but as he told her all the time he was a bad influence and if he wanted to get back involved with her then he would have to come clean about everything, what he was and what he was looking for the night before. She was not going to deal with being left in the dark in the manner in which he had. It was simply not fair. As she walked to her next class she did not even see him as she sat in her seat and for the most part of class stared straight ahead. She felt eyes on the back of her head and when she turned she noticed that the grey pair were directed to the floor and was met by one of the other guys in the class. She had been going to the same school as him for the entire start of high school and yet they had never spoken, he was a part of the ‘in crowd’ but from what she had seen of him he was a nice guy. He offered a small smile to her which she returned. The rest of the class passed by at a crawl. As the bell rang she stood and light steps from behind her could be heard as the back of her elbow was caught by a gentle touch, she fought the urge to wrench her arm back but when she spotted the kind face of the man she felt guilty about her first instincts. Hey I know we have not talked much but I wanted to know if you would be interested in going to a movie with me tonight. It was a little bit of an odd request though she did not know him well enough to not like him for any reason nor did she know him well enough to like him so what was the harm in going to a movie with him. That would be nice. Of course they both knew each other’s names since they had been in all the same classes. Connor was the boy’s name. He was tall and handsome with a soft expression mirrored in brown eyes and spiked brown hair, his smile was really what was attractive though, the genuine manner in which it lit up his face without the sarcasm and sneering like the other one who should not be named. She was trying her best to keep Rylen off her mind. She stepped in the direction of the door and he was right behind her. Join me for lunch? He asked and she turned back for a moment. She nodded and he walked with her to her locker where she placed her books so that her arms would be free since she still had the hassle of the cast on her arm although it did not hurt she knew that it would be too suspicious if one day poof the cast was gone and it had not been an allowable amount of time. The lunch room was already crowded but when the boy arrived at where he usually sat with the popular group they moved over as if it was no hassle, she was sure that one of the minions even got shoved off the end of the bench. The people at the bench introduced themselves to her politely while the other girls shot lusty glances at Connor and she was able to feel the hateful glances in which they shot her. She enjoyed herself and he walked her to her car at the end of the day and when he realized which car it was his jaw nearly dropped. This is your car? He asked stunned. Yeah, I restored it myself. He seemed impressed by this revelation. Wow you are full of surprises. She had a feeling that her life at school was going to change a little now, she would not be on the outskirts where everyone liked her anymore, with the attention of Connor she would be sought after and people would be jealous, she was not too sure what she had to think about that though. He promised that he would pick her up later in the day and she gave him the address to the hotel, she made it for a later time than he wanted so that she would be able to spend a little time with her mother before she left. When she informed her mother that she had a date later in the evening her mother looked excited and sat on the bed beside her asking her all the questions that a mother would be interested in knowing though of course she did not know him well enough to answer most of them and she was left to get ready with a promise that she would ask the boy a lot of questions and that she would be careful and safe as her mother requested. The weather had turned nice enough to wear a skirt which hung to her knees delicately showing off long toned legs. She wore a tank top that hung off her shoulders covered with a light cardigan that was open at the front, she allowed long red locks to fall in loose waves along her shoulders in a tousled effortless look, makeup that was usually omitted was added and she was then ready for the night. Right on time there was a knock on the door and the boy was dressed a little more formal than in school in a nice pair of jeans and a nice shirt, flowers were produced to her from behind his back and eyes widen. Thanks. She uttered and quickly placed them in a vase before they were headed down towards his car in the parking lot that would take them to the movie theater. When they arrived he paid for their tickets before she even got the chance to see the new Scream horror movie. After they had entered she excused herself to go to the washroom and walked back out into the hallway.

Smirk soon fell over features even though he was not facing the girl, yet he could not help it after her little comment. The close proximity between them right now was nearly intoxicating for the male although he would not allow that to become apparent. He had actually become accustomed to her arms wrapping around him within the past few days involving her riding the motorcycle with him. Neither of these factors meant anything good for him as he was already worried about just speaking with her too much initially. Now she was in even greater danger and this was all proven at the sight of the book in her apartment. The anger that was pulsating through his veins was not allowed to surface as he did not want her to witness how every part of him wanted to react. Right then, he was closer than ever to revealing his true identity which was guarded from practically everyone. An explanation had been promised to the girl yet now he did not know how to even begin telling her nor did he want to seeing as it would be once more unveiling too much for her. Always he had been guarded about the abnormal blood that ran through his veins but now he knew it was more of a danger than anything. If there was not as many catches behind stating those few words to tell her of his history, he may have told her due to his own knowledge of her condition. So many secrets had to be kept, from everyone. There had not been a single soul- immortal or mortal- to which he had spilled every story of his past. There were far too many hazards that came along with such knowledge. Even through association, there was endangerment. After the quick search in her apartment and return to the bike he could experience the difference in emotion radiating off her. The grip around his waist was no where close to what it had been before and he did not approve of this entirely. But then there was that voice, encouraging the weariness of the girl, reminding him of how good it could be for her. And in the midst of all this, he was at a dead end. Nothing he could say right now would help the situation most likely. His dismissal at her departure was a half hearted attempt since all she did in return was nod. Again they were at a rift. Realizing how many times this had happened throughout meeting her, he once again got irritated. This time was different though. He was aggravated with himself. He was the cause for the inconsistency between their feelings. His life was messed up. Way too much for anyone to get involved in. Yet time and time again, he had tried to make it so. Time and time again, he got people hurt. Killed. So why did he no longer get people get close to him? For that exact reason. He'd witnessed lives end, because of him. He'd seen the light disappear from a lover's eyes once and was not going to let it happen again- to anyone he was close to. No one else was going to die because of his own mistakes. The mistakes that haunted him at every step would soon disappear, if there was a way. Without even glancing towards her again, he adjusted the helmet to his own head before driving off. The other he needed to consult with was gone so therefore he only knew one way to make sure Rae lived through the night, in case what he had foreseen did turn out to be true somehow. Therefore he resulted to reserving a room at the hotel, sitting on the edge of his bed whenever he was not pacing like a wild animal behind bars. He left from the hotel rather early to then go to school, checking his apartment to find the old man still missing which was odd. He brushed the thought away on the way to the high school and parked in his usual spot. Gaze never even looked to see if the mustang had yet arrived because it would only be a matter of time if she was not there yet. When health class came along, he tensed at the thoughts of some guy while they revolved around a sudden interest in Rae. He had no right to be possessive over the girl; there was nothing going on between them. Still he was silently raging at the other male's thought process which involved asking her out to a movie. Plus, knowing Larae, she'd say no most likely. Grey eyes rolled to dismiss ideas, yet soon traveled to the floor for the remainder of class. By the time the bell rang, Rylen did not rush from the class like usual and hovered near his desk, bending slowly to pick up his book that had purposely slammed onto the ground. He did not even look in the direction of the duo, simply listened for the hushed words that ran between the two of them. No emotion was played, even through his body language as he heard her agree to go to the movie. Book finally was retrieved from the ground and shoved into his back pack before moving past them out the door. By the sounds of it, she now had some one to sit with at lunch too. Good for her. Lock was fumbled with on his own locker, tempted to rip the metal door straight off the hingers but controlling himself not to and finally getting the combination right. Before the door was closed, he sensed another's presence and shut the locker to see a familiar female face smiling at him flirtatiously while twirling blond locks around her fingers. Tia. He greeted with a nod before stepping away, only to have her step in front of him. Apparently her on and off relationship with the football player was currently off. Rylen, I'm so sorry about what happened at the dance. Derek is a complete ass and I was a total bitch for doing that to you. She apologized with a large pout and he shook his head with a slight smile. Don't worry about it. He murmured near her ear, arm draping along her shoulders as they walked to the cafeteria. He was aware of the eyes on them as they walked, it was only natural seeing as she was the head cheerleader who had recently dumped the quarterback for the tenth time in the past two months. Throughout the lunch period, he could not remember saying one thing that had not caused Tia to giggle, even when it was pointless. However, right now he was not irritated by her annoying personality. A few minutes before lunch had ended, she brought up her wish to ride a motorcycle which gave him the perfect idea. Hm, I think I can make that a dream come true. How would you like to go to a movie tonight? I'll pick you up around six. Of course he was not above spying, and maybe he was not spying. There was no proof that he was anyway. He was just going to supervise since he had the benefit of knowing exactly what time they would be going and to what movie. There was only one cinema in the town so that narrowed it down without even having to know the boy's thoughts. Lazy smile appeared on facade as the girl agreed quite enthusiastically before writing her number on his arm in purple pen. School day passed on slowly and he was tempted to skip but decided against it. He went straight to the mechanic shop after school and worked on a different car since working on the camaro right now would only bring up thoughts of a specific girl whom was on his mind too much already. She was the last thing he wanted to be thinking of. The shop closed by five and he drove home to change, calling Tia to get her address which was nearly squealed to him in her excitement. He ended up coming a few minutes late, but had changed into cleaner clothes and washed away the grease and sweat that had came from the garage. She did not appear to mind though as she bounced through the door in a shirt that was cut in a low v, which did not surprise him entirely. He had to remind her to get a jacket before leaving and she was not competent when it came to adjusting the helmet so he had to do it. Comparisons wanted to be made, but he reminded himself that he was not going to be thinking of that one girl even though she was the reason why he was going on this date; indirectly. On the way to the theater, Tia was nearly squeezing the life out of him while hanging on and he took the back roads to get there as soon as possible. Maybe this was not such a good idea as it had once seemed to him. He was courteous enough to buy her movie ticket as well, asking her if she wanted anything before they went into the screen room. They took seats in the back, and not long after he had taken a seat and noticed Rae's leaving, she turned to him that she had changed her mind and now wanted popcorn and m&m's. Without arguing, he left with that excuse only to wait in the hall way for Larae. All he wanted was one little answer. Blocking her path, ashen depths gazed intensely at her expression. Rae, what do you want me to do? Truthfully. Those were the only words he could manage to get out, seeing as her answer could change everything. Now he was being honest, looking for what she wanted. This time, he was going to listen. Tell me, and I'll try to do it.

The night was what should be considered as perfect to a girl like her, out on a date with a handsome guy from school that half of the class were drooling over and had been since they all started high school. Connor was the perfect guy, he was on time, he was attractive, and kind so therefore she should be happy that he even asked her to go to a movie not sitting there in his car thinking about the one guy that threw her for a loop, always want the one that you cannot have, isn’t that the saying? It was cruel for her to agree to go on a date when she was not over the feelings or whatever she felt for Rylen. Still when she saw him her heart rate increased and the feeling of static electricity passed between them even when they did not manage to touch. And when they were in contact with one another well that was yet another story. Everything between them though was just so difficult, he told her one day that he wanted nothing to do with her and that he was bad news and then the next day he’s the one kissing her at the end of the dock in the middle of an abandoned park. And to think he had been the one that called her over emotional, he could not make up his mind at all. So until he would decide what he wanted she was prepared to try her best to forget about the one person that could be her entire undoing. She was prepared with an ultimatum in the next time that they were to talk, if he ever did talk to her again she would tell him simply, if you want anything to do with me then you are going to have to tell me the truth and the whole truth. There had not been one point where she had not done the same for him, she had been truthful the whole time with him, even telling him the deepest and darkest secret that she possessed. She even opened up to him and dragged him to the bar where her father had last been seen and clung to the hope in going there on the weekly day that he had been gone. Not even her own mother knew that story because it was so utterly pathetic that she was embarrassed and yet she had told someone that essentially was a complete stranger. She liked how her life was before the mysterious man showed up, it was simple. Go to class every day and try hard in school and get good grades as well as work on her car and her job. There were no uncalculated risks, there was no break in and there were no attacks, hell, she did not even know that she was a witch at that time and she was perfectly fine without that knowledge. Now every waking moment was spent thinking of Rylen and she hated it, she was so intoxicated by his presence. She was sure that she was looking distracted so she shook the thoughts from her mind to give the guy at the driver’s seat the benefit of the doubt, she owed it to him since she did not have to say yes when he asked her this afternoon if she wanted to come with him to the movie. She would be better off with someone like him, not the dark and mysterious guy that was so bipolar she was scared to open her mouth when she was around him in case he was prepared to yell at her. As she stepped from the car he took her arm as they walked towards the front door of the movie theatre, paying for the tickets at the door they moved instantly to the door of the cinema since they were not early for the movie and she was sure that the previews were already on. They took a seat close to the back so that they would not have to look up and strain their necks looking at the screen, a strange presence prickled the back of her neck but it would look strange for her to stand back up to look all around the theatre to determine what was making her feel this way when finally she was on edge too much she stood and whispered in the man’s ear that she was going to go to the washroom and he nodded briefly asking her if she wanted him to walk her there and she shook her head no and told him that she would be right back within a matter of moments. Pace was slow as she carried herself to the washroom just needing a breather more than anything, she was not too sure what was causing her to feel this way. She stepped into the tile laden washroom feet clicking on the floor beneath her to realize that she was alone in the washroom, she stepped up to the mirror to rub an imaginary smudge of makeup from features and take a deep sigh trying to calm the nerves in the bottom of her stomach. When she finally managed to feel a little better she then moved back in the direction of the door after washing her hands. She barely looked up in time to almost run into a very familiar figure. She nearly gasped in surprise and feet clattered to a halt right in front of him, close enough that she was forced to look into his eyes which she was unable to find an answer in. Rylen. The soft lyrics contain almost a music tone as they were spoken in a nearly inaudible voice. There was a lump in her throat when he asked her what she really wanted him to do. She had been so determined in what she was going to say before but now it was not that easy she did not want to hear the answer to her ultimatum. Hand reached out to touch his forearm gently when she realized what she was doing hand was dropped limply by her side, vaguely aware of how exposed she felt dressed in front of him in this manner, she felt so exposed since he had been the same guy that saw her passion for working on cars, and her new found adoration for riding motor cycles and he was the same guy that saw her struggle through her control of her new found powers and the only one besides Ulrich that knew her secrets did she really want to lose all that? You cannot deny that there is something between us. We both know it, and we are both too stubborn to admit it. Here I am admitting it. Brave vocals state before then the words that were a potential doomsday was spoken. I want the truth. You have my entire truth. I at least deserve some answers; well I believe I deserve the full truth. If you cannot do that I need to know that now so I can just move on and pretend you never wandered into my life.

Inside, he was aware of how wrong this was. Everything he had let happen between him and Larae had been wrong in one term or another. First, his constant harassment. Later, his leading her on and pushing her away while allowing her to come back only to be an arrogant ass to her. He had been inevitably drawn to the girl and he had let the situation elevate to the point where he was now "watching" over her to ensure that she was protected to whatever evil might come after her due to connections with him. Even now, having Tia with him for his own selfish use would put that girl in danger. But however, he did not consider this too heavily because already his enemies knew how deep the connections with Larae ran. They also were aware of her powers. Powers that would be useless against them, even if she then learned to master them. These thoughts clouded his head, the images of Rae suffering once more coming to mind. How was he supposed to fix this disaster he had created? Help was useless as he could not keep track of Ulrich, and trust in the elder now wavered due to the incident that had scared the girl. No matter the thoughts occurring in his head, the male tried to appear pleasant for Tia who was quite happy to ramble on and on while grabbing hold of his arm. Maybe things weren't as bad as he thought they could be. Maybe history was not going to repeat himself. This idea was half hearted seeing as twice they had already attempted to make Rae a victim. She had been nothing but brutally honest with him when it came to revealing the truth of her real powers and he had given her nothing. It was not that he did not trust her; that was the polar opposite of his reasons. Knowledge came with a price, he'd learned that lesson before. The price was too high, even if it meant losing her trust in him. She was the one person he actually wanted to tell of this damned curse. Of his desire to be normal, even though that would be a wish that could never come true. Too many times had he allowed emotions to come into play and then getting himself mentally hurt and others physically hurt. Why had he not yet been driven to the point that many of his kind had? Complete isolation. That was a possible answer, yet the majority who decided upon that fact went insane and in the end became their own demise. Why was it impossible for him to be happy in this life? He was condemned to earth; forever made to suffer because one little mistake had seemingly snowballed into hundreds. Mistakes that could never be undone. Nightmares that would forever haunt him. Weight that would never be lifted from his shoulders. Always there would be someone there to shadow him; to punish him. The main way to do so was not to make him directly suffer but do so by harming those he was closest with. That was why they moved so much. Ties couldn't be allowed to be made. Yet here, he had managed to make one within a matter of days. One that he could never cut completely. One name always echoed through his mind, no matter what. She caused him to regret more than anyone else ever had. The effect she had on him was impenetrable. That was why it frustrated him so often. No matter how much he wanted to protect her from his own catastrophes, he could never stay away for long. She kept pulling him back without trying. When Tia asked for him to get snacks, he originally planned to do so only. However, he was at a crossroads when thoughts of the girl returned without warning. He needed closure to this somehow. There had to be peace in it somehow. Whatever they had needed an ending, however it was to be. The decision was entirely up to her. Soon she was so close it was difficult for him to bear but he would not allow that to surface. Right now, he wanted an answer. That was all. They needed dismissal or whatever her final request was to be. Slow nod was given in response to the sound of his name. Teeth gritted as he caught the movement of her arm, wishing for the soft touch of her finger tips that could prove to be deadly. Question was asked in a completely serious, yet quiet tone. Irises were void of expression, wishing only to hear her side of the story and not for it to be influenced in any way. He swallowed as she spoke of how it was impossible to deny whatever it was between them and how they were both too stubborn to do so. I know. Lyrics stated quietly, letting her at least now that he was willing to admit to such as well. At her request he winced. He should have known what she wanted, he did but just did not want to admit to it. It was something he could never give her. You deserve answers more than anything, but the cost behind them is too much, Larae. If it wasn't like that, you would be the only one to know everything. I want you to move on, I really do. It's in your best interest. Sincere vocals uttered, shaking his head and taking a small step back. It really was the best thing for her to be as normal as possible, wasn't it? Sure she had her "talent", but he could not even really help her with that. More than anything he wished that his life was not this complicated; that it was simplistic like those of mortals. Another wish that would never be fulfilled. Enjoy your life. Voice was quiet before turning away, shaking away the annoying fog of depressing thoughts. The movie was already in full swing when he returned to a frightened Tia, who was actually fine with skipping out on the movie and going home.He returned the girl home, and packed a few things from his apartment to finally hear Ulrich wander through the door. What are you doing? Several more items were stuffed into the back pack without looking up. Leaving. I need to find answers. He muttered as he shoved his way out the door roughly. Dark expression clouded over handsome features, mind distraught with what had just happened not very long ago. The elder called after him, but Rylen didn't glance back. There was a new path to follow, a trail he would have to make personally.

She knew from the moment that she saw him tonight that what she was going to get for an answer was not going to be what she wanted to hear. She reached out to touch his arm but managed to stop herself since in this situation with them both being out on a date it was not appropriate and she would not do that to Connor even if it was the first time that they had been out. Lump in her throat was attempted to be swallowed but it was to no avail as she fought with the emotions, she knew by the tone in his voice when he told her that he knew that they both felt the same that this was going to be good bye. She clung to the hopes that she could somehow change his mind and stay. When she made her demand about wanting to know the truth his response immediately was to wince and that was the sign that made her heart drop to the soles of her feet. It was all going downhill now. She was feeling sick already from the encounter and she wished that she could just back up time and wander back into the bathroom and never have come here in the first place. Trust her to get herself into a mess with Rylen when she had been out on a date with someone else. He told her that she deserved answers but that the price was too large to pay and that she would not be finding out what she wanted to know. She nodded briefly before he then told her to move on and she resisted telling him that he was making that very hard since she seemed to see him everywhere. To hold back the emotions that choked at the back of her throat she did not even trust herself to say another word. Bye Rylen. I will miss you. She uttered in a forced and pained voice before then turning so that he could not see the emotions running over the girls face. She needed to make her way back to the movie before anything seemed suspicious even though she was sure that their small altercation did not take longer then a couple of minutes even though it had seemed like an eternity for her. Steps were forced as robotic as she carried herself back into the theatre just as a scary moment happened and there were several screams that caused her to jump slightly that echoed around the theatre. She found her way to her seat just in time to see Rylen reach a row that was not too far above them and leave with the girl that she had not noticed that he had brought with him. She took a seat next to Connor and did not even hesitate when he moved his arm to drape around her shoulders, right now she needed someone to be able to comfort her and while he did not know the situation it was nice. She did not focus much on the movie since it turned out to be a mediocre slasher movie that had a twist in the end that even caught her off guard. She was distracted when the final credits then ran over the screen and she jumped when the screen suddenly got dark. Connor looked over at her with a confused expression seeming to already be able to tell that something was wrong. Are you ok? He asked politely and she marveled at how much of a gentleman he was. I am just not feeling good. I am sorry. He looked worried and stood immediately. You should have told me, I would have driven you home, it’s just a movie. With that he then lead them down the alleyway to the hallway in the movie theatre and out to the car. He drove straight to the hotel where he then walked her to the door to make sure that she was alright before uttering a good bye and kissing her lightly on the cheek and she found that the kiss on the cheek held no familiar spark like it would have if it had been Rylen and she hated herself for even thinking that. She passed through the door and allowed it to close lightly behind her, her mother did not notice since she was already asleep on the bed across the room from her. She did not shower since she knew it would wake her mother so instead she changed into a pair of shorts and a loose tshirt before crawling into bed and pulling the covers up. All night she did not sleep well, she tossed and turned with nightmares that plagued her she did not give up the hope at being able to fall into a sleep though and remained in her place on the bed. When finally morning came she felt like hell as she dressed masking her shitty appearance with a light layer of makeup and bidding her mother good bye before heading to her car and driving to school. Rylen was not in class and was not there for the next few days which made her worry about where he was and what he was up to and if he was alright. She tried her best to drown the thoughts in spending time with Connor but it was not the same. Finally she gave in hoping maybe the people at the shop at where he worked would have an idea of where he was and what was going on, so she thought of a part that she might need and get away with driving there for and stood at the counter. I need a bulb for my headlight, please. She uttered gently with trying to see if she could spot the familiar boy.

For him, there never was a happy ending. That was never going to happen, he knew it. This was reality. When you got shuffled in the game of life, you were stuck with whatever fate that was drawn out for you. So many times had he wished this was all a night mare, that he would wake up and all the misery from the past would just disappear. But no, things like that never happened. He was damned for his entire life and he always managed to make it worse. Turning away from the girl made it a million times worse, or so it felt. The image of her suffering was what kept him walking. Hearing the comment that she would miss him did not help but he could not risk looking back, consider the possibility of staying. Once he'd thought he would be able to protect someone, he'd failed to suffer throughout his life after the incident. Something as so could not be repeated. His date was returned home with instructions for him to call her anytime which would not be happening. Tomorrow she would probably be back with whatever his name was anyway. Plus, he did not need to get involved with anyone, ever. He returned home to pack belongings, barely being interrupted by his room mate who ultimately did nothing to stop him. Even though it was pitch black outside, the helmet covered his head and back pack looped around shoulders before he took off on the dirt bike. Naturally, he had no where to go but now he just needed to get away. Soon he would leave completely, but he needed a better store of money first. He drove an hour away to stay the night in a crappy hotel which did nothing but cause him to think more of the girl since he knew she was also staying in a hotel at the current moment. Unless she was still out with Connor, which was possible. That guy was everything Rylen wasn't. He was safe for her, and actually pleasant. Someone her mom would approve of her dating if it was a common thing. She could go on with a normal life and have a future rather than getting sucked in by knowing to much and then getting hurt. Inside he knew it was actually her best interest for her to forget him entirely but he knew that it would be impossible for him to do the same about her. There was practically nothing he could do that would stop her from coming to his mind. Every time he got on his motorcycle, he could imagine the presence of her arms wrapped around his waist. The witty comments and fights that had occurred replayed nonstop through his head. His attempt at leaving did not last long since he was aware of the fact that his money was currently tight. He would have to stay at the apartment and work at the garage more before finally leaving. However, he was not returning to school. And at any sight of a mustang, he would be sure to avoid so. Red heads to. Anything that would bring her up if possible. Ulrich said nothing after he returned two nights later, defeated for now but determined to win in the end. He was going to make this easier for the both of them by putting as much space between them as possible. Other than going to the garage, he really did not leave the apartment. And when he left, he drove the jeep instead of the motorcycle. He was almost tempted to sell the vehicle since it was a constant reminder of her that just got him fired up. The other employees at the garage noticed the difference in him since he was no longer joking around as usual but said nothing. They left him alone for the most part, which was nice. Work was channeled into the Camaro now more than ever, spending long hours and generally being the last one to close up shop. The memory of working on it with a partner was blocked from his mind, concentrating on getting the car running to win the bet and maybe buy the car if the owner gave him the deal he promised. Rolling out to grab tools, something in him snapped only to hear familiar vocals. Eyes closed quickly and once more he wheeled beneath the car in silence. She wanted to pretend he didn't exist, but now showed up at where he worked. That was really logical. He was not going to make any attempt to speak with her or even acknowledge her since she wanted nothing to do with him. Now he was letting the feeling drift to mutual although much of it was still not quite there. Without having any contact with her, he was still re-experiencing what had happened between them in his mind, despite every attempt to try and stop it. Rob assisted the girl at the counter, handing her the bulb and following her gaze with mild interest. Something has him pretty worked up. Says he's moving soon. The guy shrugged before checking the list to find the price for the part and stating it to her.
