He was far too concerned with what other people thought of what was going on between them or in the true case what really was not going on between the two of them. The rumors that she knew would follow did not scare her because when it came to her being good at something popularity and sticking out of trouble at school were high on the list. She had enough power with the right people that she would be able to silence them the moment that they started and she was much too polite for people to really care about harming her. She was not overly important, the cheerleaders were the ones that were gossiped about the most and she steered clear of that circle and tried her best to make friends with everyone. Well except for Rylen when he first came and she was instantly rubbed the wrong way by him. From the moment that they started talking she had been horrible to him and yet she had not been able to stop herself so it escalated to right now where they were finally on good terms and talking civilly to one another. She was very curious to know more about her species and perhaps she would be able to meet people that were just like her and find out how they had gotten on with their lives and see where her life might take her in a few years. Would she always be this raw and unharnessed power or would she be able to channel it into something useable on a smaller scale? She knew that the power that had been possessed to set Rylen’s shirt on fire had been much smaller than the explosion a couple days that lit her captor on fire. But had she somehow been in control of that so that it was used to a smaller scale or was it just coincidence or maybe it was because she was not scared of the male maybe what really added fuel to the fire (literally) was the fear that she was feeling at the time. He really surprised her when he asked how her arm was and caused a small smile to creep onto stunning features and he mirrored it with a slightly rough around the edge smile. It seemed as though he really did not make the gesture that often and she could not help but notice how handsome he was when he was smiling. She silenced this feeling in herself though since it did not matter since the only reason they were out for lunch was because Ulrich was probably forcing him to be nice and because they might as well be civil to one another or they would end up shoved in a closet again and she did not like the sounds of that. She had never been to this café to eat lunch but when her food arrived and she looked at the plate she decided it would have to be a place that she came more often it all looked fresh and the wrap was quite tasty. She then finished her meal and realized that they needed to be back at school within a matter of minutes or they would be late again and they would have to deal with detention, she had had enough detention for the week she thought. So she stood and paid her portion with him right behind her before heading back across the road to the school to walk into the doors and she paused to realize that he was not right behind her and she held the door until he got there in a kind gesture with a warm smile crossing features. When she turned the opposite way in the hallway she then uttered a couple words. Not even caring that they were the center of attention in the hallway since it was a well-known fact that they hated each other. That was nice Rylen. I hope you will reconsider your intentions. She did not reveal to the public what they were speaking about though she knew that he would understand that it was that she hoped that he would reconsider avoiding her. She carried on the rest of her day easily and headed to the apartment after school. She was allowed in and directed to the couch, she was able to feel the presence of the younger male in the house. It was strange how she was able to sense that he was there she could not explain it. So when she walked to the back of the couch and the man popped out the panic settled in and she rushed for the door until she realized that it was none other than Rylen and body still remained rigid and ready for flight when his grip tightened on her. A hand was clamped over her mouth though it was not overly needed since she was not the type to scream she was just the type to freeze out of fear and right now since she had realized it was Rylen it was just more annoyance than anything. The words that were spoken in her ear even though they were masked from his regular tone were recognized so she stayed calm and as soon as he seemed to deem that she was not going to react she was able to move from his grips. Flashbacks from the night that she was attacked froze her to the spot and a fearful expression crossed her face. She turned to the older man knowing that he was the mastermind of this plan. I did not sign up for getting my past relived, that is a very sick joke, if you think that was going to help anyone I have to disagree. A glint of a tear could be seen so therefore she turned the opposite way to not show weakness as her entire body was shaking. As soon as she left the tears started to fall and she jogged down the hallway towards her car so she would be stopped by no one. Once she got to the car all the doors were locked and she remained sitting there regaining her composure. It was hard for someone like her who had been attacked and yet had no one to talk to about it, she could not tell her mother the truth and even if she could her mother was never home anyways.

Friendly smile broke features as eyes briefly met those of the girl's as she held open the door. Before he stepped away in the opposite direction, he was able to make out the words she murmured to him. Brows quickly furrowed as he considered the statement but knew he could not do so. He could not even think of how to explain why to her. Quiet chuckle came from him in reply as he started towards his locker and then to the following class. Honestly, he was getting a little paranoid of the thoughts he had regarding the girl. She would lead to his demise somehow, he knew it. Some weird connection between them and he could not really avoid her as he originally desired to. He was quite bored throughout the rest of the day, as usual and finished his homework in the classes though. Today was supposed to be his day off but he could not really go out and do anything since Ulrich had requested his presence at his next "session". When he returned home, the plan was explained and Rylen was none too pleased with the man's scheme. He argued with him over it and still considered bailing the idea but could not since the elder did have a fair share of black mail on him as well. His only hopes were that Larae would in the end understand but he knew she was not going to be able to as soon as she stepped through the door. At the hidden signal, he sprang from his hiding place to grab her. The terror and tension in her body was brutally obvious to him and already he was glaring at the old man. Half-heartedly, lyrics were hissed into the girl's ear, grimacing at the strange feeling running through his head. Soon he dropped his hold on the girl as she was unresponsive and he knew the plan had failed entirely as well as done nothing more than traumatize her. The harsh words spoken to Ulrich were nothing he commented on and he was about to go after the girl but stopped himself before turning on his room mate. You told me to go easy on her, but you're the one who almost gave her a heart attack. She doesn't trust either of us and she sure as hell isn't a science experiment. Vocals snapped with a cold glare at the other immortal before running out the door. Hood was quickly pulled over the male's head as the clouds gathered and a down pour began. Naturally the weather had to break now. Squinting through the rain, he located the girl's car and made out the figure of her inside it. Upon approaching, he took off the hood despite the fact that he would probably get drenched. He gently knocked on the passenger's side window. Larae, let's talk, please. He uttered with a tone loud enough for her to hear through the glass. Sincerity was apparent in his eyes, an occasion that happened very rarely. Once more, she was the reason he was left feeling guilty. And of course, the tears streaming down her face did not make it any easier for him, especially since he was not at all good with people who were crying. Yet now of all times, with the one person who hated him, he was trying to help; willingly. Small sigh echoed into the dreary atmosphere, shivering as rain drops found their way down the back of his neck to descend along his spine. Again he was trying to set things right with her and try to talk her out of this. She wanted and needed help for what she was going through but now he was none too certain of his room mate's antics, or sanity for that matter. He was going to have to look into what was going on and try to see what he could do to possibly help the situation. Since right now, on accident, she could be a hazard to anyone she came in contact with and he knew this was only causing her distress. And right now everything that she was going through was coming out through her emotions. If he could, he was going to do anything in his power to try and help her along since it was obvious the stress that was going on with her.

Fear caused her body to go completely rigid until she felt as stiff as a board and it caused her arm to ache and every other part of her that was even remotely sore. She did not move, she felt as though she was in one of those dreams where you should be running but instead your body betrays you and you are stuck to the floor. Even though she knew her captor and knew that he would not hurt her she still could not help but cringe. Considering how decent they had been to each other earlier in the day she knew that this was not his idea. She had a feeling for people’s motives and she was not too sure if that was simply something that everyone was able to detect or it was part of her powers but she knew that she was in tune with it. She felt as though she did not even inhabit her body as his arms were dropped and she moved from his grips. She was able to see the small defeated look cross his features. She uttered her piece to his roommate and the words even sounded foreign to her. By the shocked look on both of their faces it was clear that they could see that they had done something wrong. Ivories clamp down on her bottom lip hard enough that she was sure that it would bring the metallic taste of crimson though luckily it didn’t but it did fight back the overwhelming feeling of emotions that had been burdened on her shoulders for the last couple days. She slipped her shoes on without even tying them in order to get out of the door quicker before either of them could stop her. She would not break down in front of them; she would not allow herself to sink to that level. Steps were rapid as she made her way to the stairs and then jogged down the flights of stairs to get to the bottom to realize it was pelting rain. She did not even have the time to put her hood over her head as she sprinted for the car. It was strange now, she was able to feel the people that moved around where she was. It was almost as if she was able to feel them move as they did so. When she got to the car she allowed herself to break down with her head in her hands and as a familiar aura came into her vision she knew that she should have moved the car so that he would not have followed her. She was not in the mood to be snappy with him though and as he was getting soaked she was not going to be foul. She moved across the seat to unlock the passenger’s side door before he even spoke asking her if he could talk to her. It was strange how she could now feel him as he approached. She took a deep breath in to compose herself and found the strength within to simply swallow the tears and wipe the places where they had been on her face. If you want to talk we can’t do that here. I have somewhere where I need to be right now. You are welcome to come though. She stated and as soon as she got her answer the car was started and rumbled aggressively to life. I don’t know how to explain it Rylen but I knew it was you, long before it happened. I know it must sound crazy but I could feel you were in the room the moment I entered. I could feel Ulrich’s presence as well but not nearly as strong as yours. She paused for a moment to turn her attention back to her driving and the destination. Coming to the place that they were parking at was a tradition. They pulled up to a bar on the main street and she parked along the backside. She stepped out of the car. She knew that he would ask her what they were doing here but yet she was not too sure if she was ready to explain. I was also able to tell that it was not your idea and that you did not think it was a good one. Maybe I am going crazy. Maybe I am wrong but for some reason it felt as though I could tell some of your intentions, only when we were touching though. She assumed that someone like him would have a fake id or maybe he was not the age that he said he was. Maybe he was some crazy immortal that was like 800 million years old. She almost laughed at the thought of this. Before leaving the car she allowed her hair down from its elastic to allow locks to fall in a stunning cascade of a rouge chestnut tint in loose waves around her shoulders. The evidence of the tears were gone and all that remained in jade coloured eyes was a look of determination. She took off her jacket to reveal a silky shirt that clung to his midsection, it made getting into the bar at lot easier she found. Fake Id was pulled from her wallet and she hung onto it as she finished locking the car and passed under the cover of the building over head to the door at the front. She passed her ID to the man at the front and his gaze roamed all over her body before allowing her in. She felt as though she was a piece of meat under scrutiny but would not say anything as long as she was allowed in. Since he was with her it was not a problem either as she then moved to her traditional table in the middle of the room. Sitting at one of the chairs. This is the last place that my dad was seen. I come here every Thursday. I always hope that perhaps someone might know something and that they still come on the same day. She told him. He is the only one that could help me now. He would know what to do about all this. She uttered gently. She could not believe that she had just revealed a large secret of hers to him. The bar was rather trashy and looked as though it was in need of a major renovation but there were a lot of people in it. She looked for the people that were loners since the people that came here with people were usually too busy within their group to notice something strange.

Before she had gone out the door, he was able to see that she was fighting with her emotions and willing herself not to let them see what was going to become of her. Through this realization, he was aggravated with himself but more so with Ulrich. Words were hissed at the elder with scorn and he quickly went out to see if he could find the girl to speak with her and try to apologize. The weather had been threatening throughout the day but had held out to now, as if the situation between them had just caused it. With how it had affected Larae, he didn't think of it to be much of a stretch since no one really knew the extent of her powers and how tied in her emotions were to them. Not long after he was standing near the car had she unlocked the door to let him in which surprised him. He was silent as she was gathering a hold of herself and he knew to respect that. She told him they could not talk there and he simply nodded, agreeing to go to wherever it was she needed to. She had offered him the invitation so therefore he was actually going to take it since he found it important that he set things straight again. The car's engine started up without hesitation and he was able to see how pristine she kept the car. When he had drove it to school, he had not took much notice but now was able to admire the car. Full focus shifted to her as she started speaking to him and explained of the strange awareness she had when he was around. You aren't crazy. Things are strange for me when you are near as well but I can't explain why. We're just different and there's something more but I can't figure it out. I'm trying to understand but I have to look into it more. Though he was not sure that the answer to all of this would be one he would approve of. Wanting to make sure she was focused on driving, he left it at that since he would be able to talk to her when they got to whatever her destination was. As the car pulled to a stop near a bar, he was completely discombobulated. Why would she of all people bring him to a bar to talk? It simply did not add up in any way for him. She started speaking again and he listened in silence after getting out of the car. I honestly had no idea how to explain the things that happen between you and I. I'm trying to find answers but have not had any luck. When it comes to you, everything is different and abnormal for me, not that things are normal prior, but there is a difference. He admitted, surprising himself by actually letting her know this much information. Still he was not going to let her know what he actually was and it was doubtful she would even believe him. Silent thoughts were kept at bay as he saw the way her hair fell around her shoulders as well as the blouse that had previously been hidden beneath her coat. His jaw almost literally dropped at the sight as he had witnessed her to have changed drastically throughout the day. She did not even hesitate at the front door and Rylen did not have a good relationship with the specific bouncer who already had his eyes all over Larae and was quite intent on watching her walk away. The male gritted his teeth from making a comment but was quickly pulled through thanks to the girl's help who without he would have been screwed. The ID was shuffled back into his pocket so he would not lose it as he had done with others in the past. She actually came off as comfortable to him when she settled at one of the tables and he did so as well. Eyes did not wander about the bar since he did not want to be recognized. This specific place was not the best for him to appear at and he knew there was a large risk behind it all. As ridiculous as the idea was, he pulled a pair of sunglasses from his jacket's pocket and slipped them on. When he looked towards Larae, they were allowed to slide down so he could make actual eye contact with her. She told him her father had been seen there last and she came back weekly to try to find information. He knew he possessed a better way to get information but was not too sure about offering to do so. She then went on to say that her father would know exactly what to do in this situation and he nodded. You'll get this figured out.. He murmured, looping an arm around her shoulders but quickly removing it since it was rather awkward for him. He was about to get the bartender's attention when he felt a presence looming near him. And so we meet again.... Low vocals spoke with fake politeness towards Rylen and he knew it was only because the girl was there. Spinning in his chair he tried to face the larger man with a grin. Hello there Rick. He stated with a half hearted glance toward Rae since he did not want her to see what probably was about to play out. Rylen, we never got to finish our discussion last time. Would you join me for a walk outside as I'm sure this little lady would not want to hear your opinion on the matter... Rylen hesitated only to be grabbed by the arm and drug out the back door with a fleeting glance towards the girl before being brought back outside. Back met the back of the brick building rather harshly as the man's grip had gone to the collar of his shirt. Where's my money? Yellowed teeth flashed right before his face along with the stench of horrid breath filled with alcohol. I'll get it. Words screeched as hands were now wrapped around the immortal's neck and he had not gotten the chance to get hold of the other. Unable to grab his attacker's neck, he wrapped his fingers around the man's wrists but due to his lack of oxygen was losing his ability to grasp what was actually going on. His surroundings were blurry and continued to progress until at last everything started fading to a black as the man's grip tightened and continued to cut off his air supply.

As the rain poured on the car she could not help but wonder if it was anymore perfect to reflect on her mood for the moment. She was not left in peace for too long though before Rylen made his way to the car and she allowed him in. She was not too sure if this had been the right idea since she really did not want to have to explain to him where she was going and why since it was something that no one knew about her and she would rather keep it that way since she knew that her mother would freak out and it would send her mother back into the realm of depression that she seemed to just starting to be getting over. It seemed as though her mother did not realize that there was a large chance that her father was still alive. She knew that there had been a lot of people after him so therefore it would be in his best interest to leave his family behind or maybe someone captured him to use his knowledge. She did not know what was worse though if he was being held in a horrible place or him being dead. When she told him that she might just be starting to crazy he did not seem to agree and told her that she wasn’t and head was shook there was so much that she could not even begin to explain so therefore who was she or he to judge that she was sane. That sounds like a scene out of a movie Rylen. Have you not seen the movie where the person is a witch and goes completely crazy and the only person convinced shes normal is herself? He finished saying that he did not know what was going on between the two of them but that it was different between them. She was not focused on that when they arrived at the bar and she parked the car where she deemed to be the closest to the cover and stripped from the jacket she was wearing and hung it over her arm before then pulling the elastic from her hair to allow the locks to ripple along her back and shoulders. Knowing that he would be stunned by the confidence that she had, she had to be this confident though to ensure that no one would ever question her in this bar. She needed to always assert herself since she stuck out like a sore thumb so if she was kicked out by even one of the bouncers she knew they would always remember her. So far so good though as she entered and they did not even question her as she passed through the guard and Rylen followed behind her. She noticed the strange look that the bouncer that was giving him and noticed that they seemed to know eachother. Yet again she was able to feel this from them. As they took their seats at one of the tables she turned to him with brow raised slightly. He would no longer question her sanity when she spoke her next words. You know that bouncer. She uttered gently with a suspicious glance maybe he would realize that she was serious when she said that she was able to now feel the aura of people and the aura that mingled with others. How else would the girl know that he had encountered the other male before. He did not make eye contact with any of the people that were roaming within the bar and she was able to feel that he was uncomfortable when he then reached to his pocket to pull out the sunglasses to try to disguise himself. He strung an arm around her shoulders and then there was someone that was walking in their direction and the arm fell from her shoulders as soon as it seemed to have happened. Despite the polite manner in which the other man spoke to Rylen she was able to feel that there was something not good about to happen. He was not given a choice when the man told him that they were going to discuss something, the universal code for someone was going to get their ass kicked and dumped in a dumpster behind the bar. She did not even have to debate following them, though she was going to be prepared when she got there. She searched for what might be used as a weapon before settling on taking one of the bottles of beer out with her, proving how much she was thinking. What type of damage might be done by a fricken beer bottle. She was not going to allow him to get hurt though since right now he was all that she had that even remotely understood her. Her mother was of no use and Ulrich proved he could not be trusted so Rylen was it. When she immerged out into the alleyway the last few words of their heated debate was spoken before the other reached and managed to grab Rylen by the neck, this provoked a protective rage. Luckily the males back was to her and she took a step closer not wanting to have to resort to her powers that she did not even know how to call upon all her force was used to smash him on the top of the had with the beer bottle. Which caused him to drop the boy who was now limp and retaliate on her. The combination of fear, rage and protectiveness proved to be a deadly cocktail as fire began to build within her body, the force of the explosion that occurred forced the attacker back against the wall of the bar stunning him enough to give her the chance to grab Rylen straining to lift him she ran in the direction of the car, only to find that she had lost her keys in the scuffle. Curse words were muttered under her breath as she was then forced to sprint along the back alleyways. She could hear yelling behind them of the man who was probably by now on his feet, as if earlier in the afternoon had not worn away at her nerves enough now she was forced right back into the alleyways that plagued her every night mare. She felt a sigh of relief when she noticed that there was an abandoned and half crumbled old warehouse building in front of them. She darted that direction. Managing to get out of sight and crouch behind a crumbling wall. The voices got louder and then faded out as she sat shaking from the adrenaline.

She still was not buying his opinion of her not being insane and he could do nothing about it at the current moment seeing as she was quite emotional and he did not want to get aggravated while trying to persuade her otherwise. At the comment of it being similar to a movie plot, he faced her with a gentle expression and shook his head. I haven't seen it. Nor do I believe it to be true with you. You just need to get this figured out. He uttered, finding it easier than usual to actually try to be nice to her.It was very uncharacteristic of him and yet when it came to her, he was not entirely sure of retaining his usual attitude. To him she currently came off as emotionally fragile and he did not want to upset her nor get himself into another fight with her right now. The fact that she had driven them to a bar originally baffled him and he was still quite confused up until her brief explanation and made no comment on the matter. He did not allow his eyes to roam over the girl's figure as they wished to and followed after her into the bar and barely escaped being kicked out he could tell by the look on his acquaintance's face. When Larae settled at a table, he did as well and immediately met the questioning look that was being directed at him. Listening to her brief statement, he nodded. Yes, but not on the best terms. Reply was mumbled before he got the idea to slip the sunglasses on. He knew he looked like an idiot but it was the only thing he could really do to help hide himself. As he allowed arm to drape along her shoulders for only a fraction of time, guard slipped up involuntarily and he found out that she thought he was not certain of her sanity. Due to his own sense of awkwardness, arm was removed and he was about to tell her otherwise as a large figure loomed over him. Knowing it would not be good, he tried to look cheery as he faced the male before being dragged towards the back door before shoving him against the building. He tried to get his hands up to defend himself but had stalled too long before the larger man was nearly strangling him. Words were spoken between them and he managed a scratchy reply, vision blurring only to see what he thought to be Larae with an empty bottle about to smash down on his attacker's head. Rylen wanted to yell for her to run but he could not manage the words and already the glass had shattered before gaze finally gave way completely. Body hit against the concrete like a pile of bricks and he was limp, yet mind was still attempting to work out the situation. He could make out the gruff cursing of the man but had no idea what was going on. The sound of flesh hitting against brick was heard and that was it as he had completely blacked out by this point. Everything finally started coming back and he found himself trying to gasp for air as he was unstable and now being carried. By the time he was fully conscious, he sat up and stared at the girl, completely at a loss with what had just happened. Waiting until it was silent, he then chose to compose himself before speaking. Though he decided not to chew her out since she was sitting there and shaking. Despite every part of him screaming against it, arms carefully wrapped around the girl and pulled her closer. Finding it to be too much for him to handle, he scooted away a few inches with fingers pressed to his temples. Again, he was going to be the cause of things going wrong despite his vow never to be. Larae, for future references, regardless of what condition and situation, promise me you will not go back for me. Next time, just stay out of it. Tone was quiet and entirely serious. It was not that he did not trust her ability to defend herself or the sort, he just did not want her getting into the tangle of a mess that he had made throughout his life. There were far too many risks of her getting hurt due to his own problems. Plus, the arrogant part of him wanted nothing to do with her help or sticking up for him. Recognizing where they were, he stood up slowly before offering her a hand. You need to get home, it's late. He commented, observing her condition. I don't know that you should be driving right now. Lyrics were both serious and honest as she seemed quite shaken to be on the road. Never did he press for details or even ask what happened because he did not want to worsen what she was going through currently. Where are your keys? He questioned quietly, now wondering why she hadn't gone to the car simply to drive away in the first place.

From the moment that the larger man arrived at the table and requested to speak to Rylen she had a sinking feeling of impending doom that would not go away and even when she sat there when they had both gone out the back door of the bar she debated her next mood though her mind was clouded by not wanting to lose the man. She did not want to feel guilty about him getting his ass kicked when she had been the one to force him to come here. She knew that she did not have a lot of time when she then passed by the bar and managed to grab a empty bottle without the people at the bar or the bar tender noticing and slip out through the back door that was reserved for people that were staff members or important people at the bar. Not even a single pair of eyes fell on her as she then emerged into the cool air of the night. Panic settled in when she noticed that the fight had progressed to a state that Rylen did not appear to be doing too well and she hopped into action the moment that she saw that the man had him by the neck and he looked as though he would be passing out at any moment. The bottle had been a rash idea but it seemed to have the desired effect as the men than focused on her and dropped Rylen so that he would be able to breathe again, it was then that she was sure that she had dropped her keys when the man had been forced back against the wall with such force that he lay there for a moment before getting up and with no hesitation by the time he was with it again they were gone down the dark alleyway. She was so hopped up on adrenaline that she did not even have a hard time carrying him. She did not want to think about the possibility of the male then finding her keys and doing something unimaginable to her car so she hoped that her keys had been dropped somewhere that they would not in his line of vision or he would be too blind with rage to try to find them and seek his revenge. She was right about this idea since she was able to see him from the place that she had chosen the crumbling and abandoned warehouse she was also able to feel that he thought that the kids had just kept running and were long gone from the alleyway. So he kept running and did not even hesitate when he passed them and she knew that they would be home free for at least right now. She then looked to him just as he wrapped his arms around her for a moment. She was starting to regain a lot of composure by the time she took a deep breath and got to her feet. I will promise you nothing of the sort Rylen. The problems I get myself into are up to me. And I was the one that brought you to the bar when I could sense that something was wrong. She muttered darkly. She then took a step out into the alleyway this time when walking back even though she knew that the guy was a long ways away she made sure to stay beneath the shadows as she walked. He made a comment that she needed to get home since it was late and then that she should not be driving. I am not the one that just got strangled. I will be the one driving. She stated defiantly. If I knew where my car keys were do you not think that would have been my first choice? I lost them somewhere between hitting him in the head with the bottle and causing an explosion. She told him and could not help a small smile and chuckle at the situation. When they passed by the bar it looked as if their situation had gone unnoticed which was nice since it had been a big enough explosion that she had been sure that someone would have seen it though it was a sketchy enough bar that she was sure that people would not have wanted to call the police and risk having to talk to them since a lot of people around would have more than one black marks on their record. She retraced her steps where there was a large scorch mark on the dumpster to find her keys propped up against the wall and she grabbed them noticing that they were a little torched looking though they would work. She lead the direction back to the car where she unlocked the door for either of them and climbed into the driver seat. You know your lectures aren’t going to work. A simple thank you would have sufficed. She was more than intent to get out of this area and back to one that she knew a little better and not be on the scene when the man returned. She drove out onto the road and luckily they did not see him again. She pulled into the parking lot of the apartment building where she parked in the same spot and turned to him. I am already in this deep Rylen. Don’t push me away that would be a lot more dangerous than sticking around. She uttered as a parting comment before he climbed out of the car and she paused for a moment before she was back on the road to her apartment building. She parked the car and locked it all before jogging up the stairs and unlocking the door. She knew there would be a lot of explaining to do with her mother and the older woman looked up as she entered the door and looked shocked at the look of her daughter. She felt so defeated though so as her mother yelled at her she simply nodded and agreed with everything all the stipulations of the punishment that would put a limit on all her freedom, well there was to be none anymore. When the lady asked her what had happened she told her that she had been working at the garage since she looked as messy as she would have returned from that event. She did not seem to see past the girls a lie which was nice as she then made her way to the washroom to have a shower and wash the day’s events down the drain. She was exhausted by the time her head hit her pillow and she did not even think about waking up until her alarm had rang and she had pressed the snooze button once. She then managed to get out of bed and get changed for school and run out the door not wanting to be late. She started the car and drove to the school parking in her regular parking spot before then stepping out of the car and walking up the steps of the school. The first period passed quickly and soon she took her regular place at the front of the class when she realized it was the day that they were able to sign up to give blood. She usually stayed home on those days since she was overwhelmingly terrified of needles plus she was not able to give blood with the risk that her DNA would be noticeable. When the needles were brought into the classroom and the first set of students moved to the front the one sight of someone getting their blood taken caused her to fall from her chair in a faint. She did manage to awake a few moments after hitting the ground to her teacher standing above her. Are you alright Larae? She gulped and managed to swallow before answering. I am terrified of needles though I am feeling rather sick now though. She stated knowing she would get off the rest of the day being sent to the nurse in the office. Well you better find your way to the nurses, anyone else who is squeamish can leave too. [/b] She announced and Rae gathered her stuff quickly, her arm ached from the night before since she had been carrying Rylen. She made her way down to the hall and to the nurse who directed her to lay down which she did.

After passing out, he could not even put images of what might have happened through his head. He knew something was wrong with him seeing as he never reacted this badly. Generally, he was able to fall down and jump back up again without missing a beat. Something was affecting him and he did not know how to find out. Again he was going to have to result to the research in Ulrich's library which he had to do anyway for Larae's benefit. He really wanted to help her on her way before pushing her away from his life completely. Tonight had only added to his reasons along with the injury to her arm the other night. He released a frustrated breath as she denied his request to stay out of it and yet again he was reminded of how much she didn't understand. How much she would never understand. She still was new to her powers and was not talented with them since she did not know the mechanics of them, therefore she could not always be able to defend herself as she had somehow managed today. That does not matter. What does matter is that it did not involve you in the first place. He grumbled partially to himself as she had gotten up and checked to see if anyone was around. At his comment which was trying to be nice, of course had to get her worked up as usual. Throbbing began again, less than normal but he knew it was because a clash between their moods was starting to surface. He had no intention of dealing with that right now. I did not get strangled, it was a defense mechanism that would have been fine if you would not have shown up. He stated in return, grey irises rolling at her exhaustedly. Honestly, I don't know what your first choice would have been, you're rather unpredictable. Vocals stated with a shrug, biting his tongue to keep from lashing out in return. Brow rose as she talk of some sort of explosion. Yet he did not really want to bring it up since she could be emotionally unstable on the subject of what she had done but curiosity returned as she chuckled at the statement. He could never seem to keep up with her exactly because one moment she was shaking and the next she was laughing about inflicting pain on someone else. And he had heard others consider him to be moody. Finally getting to his feet, he walked beside her towards the back of the bar to help her try and find the keys. She discovered them on the ground and he was staring intently at the "paint job" on the dumpster, shaking his head in dismay. I don't get it. He said with a chuckle before following her towards the car, glancing over his shoulder periodically to see that no one was following or watching them. As he sat in the car, she told him the lectures would be useless and that a thank you would have been fine. Admitting to that would only encourage you, so I'm still not going to. Thin line of a smile crossed lips as he stared out the window until she returned to the apartment. Getting out of the car, he turned to hear her speak of already being in deep and avoiding her would elevate their situations. It's more than that. He stated wearily before walking back to the apartment. The door was locked purposely since the male did not have a key nor was there a hidden spare. He turned back to go down stairs and near the back to climb up the fire escape and then into his window, laying face down on the bed for a few moments to think. So much had happened in the past few hours to make him regret ever even speaking the girl the first day he met her. How things would have changed if that had not occurred. As the many times he had learned, the past was irreversible. Hearing the loud snoring as well as the sound of the television, he snuck about to find the library Ulrich had stashed in one of the closets. Scanning over the side titles, he knew the reason for the strange titles, he found the few he wanted and brought them to his room. The books were left on his bed as he took a quick shower and then returned to find two, rather than the three he thought he had originally picked. This stirred suspicion in him as he glanced towards the window which was closed and he did not remember closing it entirely. Nerves were on edge as he sat in the bed and spent the remainder of the night reading only to find a couple hours of sleep haunted with the strange visions centered around Larae. He just could not get her out of his head when he wanted to most; in his sleep. He arrived late to first hour after oversleeping and then paused in the doorway for second as he saw in large letters depicting the blood drive was designated for that day. He was going to fake an illness but he would at least wait until they started fooling with the blood first. However it did not take long for him to find Larae on the verge of passing out before falling on the floor and a brow arched subtly. Soon he was acting rather strange which caught the teachers eye and he was then allowed down to the office as well. Seeing the girl on the bed and noticing they were alone for the time being, he leaned near the small bed with a small smirk. Room for one more? I promise I'm a good snuggler. He murmured near her ear with a quiet chuckle. The nurse popped in and out again as he sat in the chair next to her. How do you feel on the idea of skipping school? I have some important information for you before I leave.

When he told her that the whole situation did not involve her in the first place she felt anger rise in her but she silenced it she was much too weary to get in a fight with him right now. She was weary from having to use her powers since she was not used to it and it seemed to drain her both mentally and physically. She knew that with time it would get better and she would be able to control it to a point where it would be more sustainable. She knew that lately it seemed as though she had been much more moody, she had happy one moment and grumpy the next though she knew that this was all stemming from the changes that were going on in her body and all the incidents of the things that had been happening in the last little while. The hot and cold personality of Rylen certainly did not help, one moment they were at each other’s throat and then within the next five minutes they were close almost like friends. Though to say that they were friends would be a large over statement since friends did not push each other away when it came time for them really needing each other the most. Though she was wrong about that statement because looking back to the times that she had needed someone else the most he was always there for her. Sure he did not seem happy to be the one that would be there for her though he was always helping. He talked to her after their fight at Ulrich’s trying to make everything right and when she had been attacked he tried his best to make it right and now when she had defending him he stated to her that he did not want her to get involved. She then started to realize when the throbbing of the headaches happened between them, it was when they were not getting along since she had not noticed it all tonight except for right now when she started to get a little mad at him. When he told her that it was a defense mechanism and he would have just been fine she shook her head and looked back to where she was walking focusing more on it. She knew that it was possible that he was telling the truth about it but she did not know him well enough to know that, would he rather that she cared less and just stood there and watched as he had his ass kicked and not act? He started to be sarcastic again when he stated that he did not know what her first choice would be when she told him that she would have brought him right to the car in order to get away she did not like that they could have been discovered in the alleyway and if she had had her keys it would have been a lot easier since they would have been able to move from the area and not risk it but eyes were rolled as she continued on her mission to find her keys. She knew that he would be able to sense the frustration as they were in the car and she told him that a simple thank you would have worked well but he told her that would be encouraging her. She was able to catch the small smile that crossed his face though before he turned back to the window. When they stopped in the parking lot and she announced that there was no use in avoiding her and that she was already deep into the situation he stated that it was more than that as it seemed to always be the same answer she was used to it by now. When she awoke for school the next morning she mentally scolded herself for not remembering that it was the blood drive for school today. So when she was in the second class of the day when it was set to occur she was glad that she was very scared of needles and when the time came it was more than easy for her to pass out into the world of darkness. And awake on the floor, she was sent to the office and she turned to the back of the class since that was where the teacher was walking next to Rylen who looked as though he was going to do the same though it was probably staged. At least the teacher would not think that they were just trying to get out of this though since they were known to be enemies around the school. As she lay on the bed in the nurse’s office she was feeling a little better with her eyes closed and allowing herself to get lost in thoughts. When she was able to feel that someone else walked into the room. A familiar person. When he asked if there was room for one more on the bed and promised that he was a good snuggler a mischievous and cheeky grin crossed her face. Prove it and only then might I share. She said with a small laugh before then sitting up. The nurse came in and he took the seat in front of her. He asked her if she liked the idea of skipping school. Might as well I am already in a ton of trouble with my mother why not make it worse? She told him before standing when the nurse came in the next time. I am going to go home for the rest of the day to rest. I will sign myself out my mother gave me permission. The nurse did not even question her when she then wandered in the direction of the front office and signed a small piece of paper before heading out into the hallway. She did not bother to go to her locker since she did not have any homework that was due tomorrow and she had a feeling that the rest of the day would be spent doing other things that proved to be a little more important. As they headed towards the main entrance she turned to speak to him. Can I at least drop my car off at home so the school is not suspicious if I leave my car here the whole day? When he seemed to agree she then walked to the car and unlocked the door and stepped into the car before starting the engine and waiting for him to retrieve his bike and follow her since he did not know where she lived. She pulled into the underground garage and parked the car before stepping out and facing the motor cycle. Promise that I will survive this ride? She asked him with a brow raised.

The information he had obtained through the two books was more on witches then he would have known and the other book was not much help for him personally since it reflected on much of the history and knowledge he already knew regarding his kind. The book that was missing made him very suspicious and at unease, so therefore he really had a tough time falling asleep by the time he did so. The book regarding Larae's "condition" was shoved into his backpack as he settled into the bed for the night, well the remainder of the early morning. Scenes flashing before his head had made him tense and he was still the same way when he woke up a few hours later. Every little thing had him on alert as the visions and the missing book were adding up to something that he could not quite figure out or piece together in any way. Jacket was grabbed along with his backpack slung over his shoulders, munching on a bagel on the way out since he was already running late. Due to the fact that he was late for P.E., he was forced to run a few extra laps which did not bother him and he felt curious glances watching him as he sprinted around the gym. Needless to say, by the time the second bell rang he was fully awake and startled when he walked into the class to find what the day's event was. Originally, he had planned on skipping it entirely but he had gotten a little caught up lately to pay notice to what was really happening in class. The wavers were passed around as needed and a few kids were already getting paler. It surprised him however that Larae was the first to hit the floor, literally. He saw it coming but knew that if he had done anything about it that he would get in trouble for harassment or something as ludicrous. Plus she was fine anyway and he could not understand why he was being so worrisome over some girl again. Thanks to their previous displays in the midst of the class, no one even made the connection that he might have been following after her. After making his little act of faking sick he was excused and waltzed into the nurse's room when he noticed the coast to be clear. Playful statement was made to the girl and he was surprised to see her joking expression in turn. Coy look crossed facade as she then told him that if he were to prove it, there would be a possibility of her sharing. Had she not been sitting up already, he probably would have played along but that would have probably resulted in him being slapped. Discrete offer was made but he was sure that she would quickly turn him down since that did not appear to be a habit of hers. A brow was arched again as she agreed and asked why not to make the amount of trouble she was in worse. Shoulders rolled into a shrug since it was her choice after all. She explained to the nurse who took the story hook, line, and sinker and he wondered if he would be able to do the same. I need to rest as well, I'm feeling light headed and getting dizzy. He stated with a frown before giving a charming smile as she nodded and rolled her eyes at him. Slip was signed for him as well, relieved he did not have to bother with faking a parent phone call or the sort. After he had signed out also, he walked beside her on the way out the door, nodding as she requested to drive her car home first. Never. Joking sarcasm laced tones as he went out to the parking lot to find the motorcycle which he had actually taken the risk of parking it in the school parking lot that day. He was glad he carried his backpack for the first few hours of the day so therefore he had not forgotten the book that he had intentionally grabbed. Thankfully it was quite empty other than the book so it was not a burn to have around. Bringing the engine to life, he followed the mustang through the streets without a problem since it was hard to miss. Once she had stepped from the car, he cut the engine of the bike, rolling his eyes as she questioned her safety. Stepping over to her and pulling the helmet from his own head before putting it on hers, he nodded slowly. Wear the helmet and hold on tight, you'll be fine. Believe me, this is actually one of the few times you can trust me. He uttered with a chuckle before settling back on the Ducati. Waiting until she was good and ready to go, he paid attention to the speed limit signs as they traveled in the direction of the garage. Turning off the bike, he waited until she got off before following as well. Smile crossed features as he looked at her once more with the helmet on. I think you need one of those permanently with a full body suit. He teased before looking through his keys to find the one that worked with the large garage door. It was closed today but the owner trusted him with a key to go work on whatever. He had chosen the place because it was private and comfortable for him since he could multitask as well. Closing the door after him, he passed her the book he had found and gestured to the old couch against the wall before finding a few things he needed to work on the old car. Since the book was quite large he had just skimmed through it and tried to get a bit more information for her. That's what I found last night, I should be able to find more stuff later though. I don't know what you know and don't, so I just grabbed the entire book. He commented before finding a trolly and rolling beneath the car to work on the undercarriage.

When he had joined her in the nurses office and provided her with the cheeky comment the playful one that was returned had come to her lips so easily as if it was effortless between the two of them. This is what confused her, sometimes they seemed impossible and them getting along was out of the question and others it seemed so easy so what were the factors that were determining this? When eyes opened to meet the males he was close to her and looked as though he was even debating taking her up on the offer but then the nurse walked in. Trust them to ruin this situation, she really wanted to see what his action would have been. When they both pleaded their cases to the nurses at separate times it was simple to get them to agree to let them out of school as they signed the slips that were needed to dismiss them because of health reasons and soon enough she walked out of the door and waited for him just around the corner since it would look suspicious if they both left at the same time even if they were well known enemies. A fact that seemed to be coming in handy now. As they were passing the washrooms at the front of the building the same girl that Larae knew that they had seen in the café the other day for lunch walked by them looking wide eyed. Enemies huh? Planning your next move against eachother, together? She stated and she truly wished that it was anyone else. Since seeing them together at the café was allowable, that was one time but now here they were again walking down the hallway together and not even fighting as they did so. He helped me to the nurses office, I fainted in health class. She uttered not sure if that was going to make it any worse or better but at least it was a try. The girl then rolled her eyes and stepped out into the hallway again. I wish I had powers that I could make her forget seeing us. I know there will be rumors that start now. I am sorry Rylen. She uttered gently. When they reached the parking lot she had completely forgotten what had just happened and when she asked if she was going to be able to drop her car off at home he jokingly stated never and eyes were rolled as she lifted her arm to give him a gentle shove. It was then that she realized that even with the jarring movement that the hurt arm still in the cast did not even complain about the abuse. A strange expression of confusion crossed her face but she did not comment on it, was it even possible? The drive to the parking garage of the apartment building was short and did not take longer then five minutes. She was lucky that she lived so close so she did not have to leave early in the morning, she was not much of a morning person. When she slid the car into its parking spot she then hopped out of the drivers seat and jokingly questioned her safety. He then took the helmet from his head and put it on hers and she strapped it tight below her chin before nodding when he told her to hang on tight. Something unknown flipped in her stomach when she realized that what she would be hanging on tight to was none other then the boy. She stepped over the back of the motor cycle and wrapped her arms around his abdomen to keep from falling. This time since they had not been fighting she did not get a head ache from being so close to him and she was able to enjoy the company along with her being super aware of where her arms were sitting. Able to feel the muscles beneath his shirt quite easily which caused her to blush although it went unseen since he was not facing her. The ride was too short for her liking and she stepped off at the garage that her car had been at and now she pieced it together. He worked here and when he had seen her car that was when he had found out about what happened to her and been able to change the tires on the car before giving it back to her the next day. It made sense now. As he hopped off too she took the helmet off. That was fun. I have never been on a motorcycle. She told him a little sheepishly since a car nut like her would probably have at least been on one to just try it. She had stuck to the cars though she knew that her mother would freak out if she ever announced that she wanted to get a motorcycle. He opened the door with a key for them before then pointing to an older couch on the side of the building and handing her a book whose title intruiged her. She knew that this was going to give her a lot more information on her species even though it was not going to be specific for her. He set to work on the car that was in the middle of the shop as she sat on the couch leaning back against the arm rest and getting comfortable. A lot of the first section which was signs that the change was coming were things that had already happened to her so she skimmed through that and settled on a section about how to control your powers and there were some interesting factors in that that she stored in the back of her mind for use at a later date. It took her a little over two and a half hours to be finished with the large book and have weeded out what was useful and what was not before she then dropped it onto the couch and walked over to where he was working underneath the car and sliding under in one of the trolleys right beside him. Can I help? She asked him with a small smile. She knew a lot about cars and she had even helped her dad restore an old Camaro when she had been younger so she still remembered quite a lot about it.

It was almost too easy for them to get out with the nurse but Larae still did not come off to him as what he knew to be her normal self. As they walked down the hallway, some girl that recognized her spoke a taunting comment about them planning their next move together. He stated nothing to fuel the fire and she tried to stop it by giving a brief explanation of what happened which he knew would be useless. The other girl was walking away by the time gaze fell upon the girl's features as she started to speak. Don't worry about it, I've got things figured out. Personally, I don't care, it's just best for you. He stated to dismiss the subject completely. Though he considered the statement she told him the night before, regarding the fact of him pushing her away could only prove to be more disastrous. He wanted to help her or find someone that could so she knew what was going on, but he could not get too involved with her. In his definition, he already was since danger had presented itself to her twice now because of his own fault for the most part. However his idea had been planned before this incident and he thought it could help not only this but other problems. As they made it to the parking lot he received a shove from the girl at his sarcastic comment and debated doing something else but stopped himself just incase they were being watched again as well as the fact that her arm was not completely healed. The route to her apartment was not very long and he could not help the smile that crossed his face as she nodded in response to his comment on holding on tight. He knew exactly what her option to hold on tight was but he was actually going to behave himself and not tease her about it. Once her arms had wrapped tightly around his torso the bike was started before driving off. Something about him felt completely different as the girl was so close to him and he could not explain it. Quite enjoying the way she was having to sit there, he contemplated taking the long way to the garage but decided against it since she would probably notice the difference. This did not stop the smile that was across his face the majority of the ride though and he was quite pleased she could not see it. Putting down the kick stand and parking the motorcycle so that it was semi-hidden near the building he got off after she had. Helmet was taken from her with a chuckle as she told him that the ride was fun and she had never ridden a motorcycle before. This information did surprise him somewhat but he made no comment on the matter before going into the garage and shutting the door after her. He flipped a few of the switches to turn some lights on so she could read and he could see what he was doing. The book was passed to her and she seemed to be perfectly fine with reading it seeing as it should have at least taught her something new about her kind. Then he set to work on the car with the sound of her flipping through the pages as well as those made from his own work. Within the few hours that it took her to read he found himself to be getting somewhere and turned at the sound of wheels against the concrete to find her rolling up beside him. Curious gaze washed over the girl as she then asked if she could help. I guess you could. He exaggerated before handing her a wrench. Did that book help at all? I'm going out of town this weekend and to try and get more information if possible about what's happening between us as well. He commented while continuing to work on the car. Slowly he was making progress with the thing, it had been in horrid shape when they brought it in on the trailer but he knew there was a way he could fix it up to look good as new. Other than his previous comment he was silent as he worked next to the girl pausing to get up as he thought of something. Strides carried him down the small hallway to a side room where a refrigerator was kept and he got out the stuff that was always in there for sandwiches. Since his hands were rather grimy from the car, he ran water over them until they were clean. He made two sandwiches, figuring she would be hungry since it was past the time when they usually had lunch. Hungry? He asked, waiting until she had popped out from under the car to pass her the paper plate before going to sit on the couch himself. When she was sitting on the couch as well, he looked at her questioningly. Where did you learn to work on cars like that? He was quite impressed actually since she knew what she was doing and was not trying to help and being more of a burden than anything by being completely lost and without a clue. There were a lot of girls that were like that it seemed, trying to help when they were completely useless. Even if he did not want to admit to it openly, he had enjoyed the help from her.

It was helpful in the hallway of the school when the other girl tended to get a little under her skin with the comment that he simply dismissed it as though he did not even care and she was brought back to the present where she would have to focus on what was going on between the two of them and she quickly was interested in the information that he said that he had found. She presumed that it was through Ulrich since the internet did not prove to be a very reliable source since it was all based on the creatures that were depicted in certain movies and TV shows and most of that was made up with the wide imaginations of authors and screen writers. None of that information would help her. She was at ease when she made the playful gesture of the shove in the parking lot and he appeared as though he was going to retaliate but thought better of it. She then was given the time that she spent alone in her car to think of the strange way that things were starting to work out between the two of them. He had been so adamant about staying away from her and yet they seemed to be spending afterschool as well as the time they were supposed to be in school together more so then they had before. She did not mind it though since he was truly the only one that would be able to know about her secret and not put her in danger and not think that she was crazy. The drive to the garage was short and she found that she enjoyed riding the motor cycle with him and almost wished that he had taken her on a small tour. When she stated that it was fun she noticed the smile that crossed his features. The garage was dark when they walked in since a lot of the workers would not be there until later in the day since a lot of people would be at work and not need their cars worked on. The man that owned it must trust Rylen with the keys though since he passed through the security of the shop so easily. The lights were flicked on and bathed the contents of the shop in a dull yellowish glow. It was like a heaven for her since she was quite knowledgeable about cars and knew what almost every piece of equipment was for. She missed spending the time at the one garage that her father had worked out of on his spare time, she knew that she was welcome to come back there at any time but she had not been able to summon the courage that would need since it was something that was so personal to her. She knew that one day she would feel like she would be able to go back there but she was not quite ready for that right now so a lot of the time if she needed to fix something on the car she ended up jacking it up in the apartment parking lot and getting the people who monitored the garage mad with threats that if she spilled anything on the floor that she would be the one having to deal with it and clean it up. She promised that she would be careful and so far so good now. She was not allowed to work on it anytime of the day though since they told her that they did not want the rest of the residents getting any ideas that it was allowed so there would be some nights in the summer that she would spend all night on projects regarding the car. She wished that she had been the one working on the car since it was hard to focus when she knew that he was beneath the car doing something that she loved. So she tried her best to get as much knowledge from the book because that was important but at the time be as fast as possible. She found a section of female witches and this was what really sparked her interest as it told her that the female witches tended to be a line that was a lot older and much more powerful. It spoke of three distinct kinds, elemental which tended to do a lot with different elements, spell casters and physic’s it was too early to tell what category she was to fall under right now. Though she found it strange that she had experiences to do with two of the different kinds. She seemed to be affiliated with the element of fire and yet she seemed to be developing the ability to read motives and feelings that radiated off people, as of right now they had to be very strong feelings but she assumed that with time they would get a little more attuned. When she finished she had a lot to think about as she made her way to the underneath of the car sliding beneath it with a motion that looked well practiced and asking if she would be able to help. He seemed a little hesitant at first so she would have to prove to him what a help she really could be. She could see what his intentions were the moment that he moved and handed her a wrench so she carefully worked alongside him so things were done twice as quick they moved synchronized and easily since she was able to tell what was going on since she knew every part well. When she had worked on cars with her father she loved it and when she was not working on cars she spent a lot of time researching things so she had a vast knowledge of all the car parts and what they looked like as well as their functions and common problems that came with them. She was able to figure out what was going wrong with her car within a matter of moments based on the symptoms. That book definitely helped a lot. Thank you. It’s nice to read something you know has a reliable source since the only things I have been reading have been coming from the internet. She wondered why her father did not have any sort of books of the sort. She had been all through the closet at her mothers and searched and yet not found anything which made her wonder if there was more than one hiding spot in the apartment or even somewhere else. She would have to take another look through all the journals to see if there was anything that she could find. He also told her that he was going away for the weekend to try to find out what was going on between the two of them and she nodded for a moment still lost in her thoughts and focusing on the work on the car. He then ducked out from the bottom of the car on what seemed to be a mission and she continued on the piece that she had been working on before he asked her if she was hungry. Yes I am. She answered finally managing the last bolt before rolling out to join him. When she noticed that he had made sandwiches her stomach growled and she moved over to the sink to scrub her hands clean as well and take a seat on the couch where she had done all the reading stretching legs out in front of her as she was passed a sandwich. Thank you. She said politely. When he asked her where she learnt to work on cars in the manner in which she did she smiled. From my father. All his extra time was spent working on cars, my car was such a mess when I bought it, it had not run in over 15 years and I worked to save up half the money for all the parts and he would contribute the other half and I spent all my time researching and repairing my car as well as working on other cars to help pay for it. She finished the food and when her cell phone beeped she pulled it out to go wide eyed at the time that it said. It was almost the time that they would be expected to be getting out of school and she needed to be back at the apartment and settled in by the time her mother would come home from work. I’m sorry Rylen but I really have to go, my mom will freak out if I am not home when she gets there. It was not as though she would be able to tell her mother the truth about the whole situation. She knew that her mother had known a little about her father though she resented him for it. Not as though it was a problem that he would be able to fix though she knew that it would be too much for her mother’s fragile mind to handle if she knew that her only child was also a witch. She helped him clean up all the tools they had been using placing them back where they had been before before walking to the front of the shop and he turned the lights off. As he was locking the door she placed the helmet on and waited for him to climb on before she did the same. Arms were wrapped around him again this time a little less hesitantly since she was a little surer of herself this time. The ride once again took too short of a time and she wished that she would have been able to request that he drive the motor cycle around a little more so that she would be able to get a little more of the hang of it but she knew that she was on thin ice as it was right now and if she was not abiding by the rules her mother had set that she was going to be in serious trouble. Unfortunately she still lived beneath the roof of her mother and needed to follow those rules for the time being. They arrived with just enough time for her to step off the bike and give him his helmet back. Thank you so much Rylen that book really helped. I’ll see you at school tomorrow. A gentle touch grazed the back of his arm for a moment before she jogged off in the direction of the stair well. She climbed the stairs and managed to get to the top in record time. She could sense that something was wrong the moment that she turned the corner. The door was not locked and it was sitting ajar on the hinges. With what looked like pry marks breaking the connection there. She did know that the house was empty though as she stepped closer and opened the door to reveal a devastating scene. There was paper and glass littering the entire floor of the apartment so much that her steps crunched every time she walked. There was not a single dish that was not smashed. She knew instantly she needed to make a call to her mother and the police as head was shaken. 9-1-1 was dialed on the phone and her voice was shaky when the person at the other end answered. Me and my mom’s apartment has been broken into. The person on the other line told her to make sure that she stayed out of the area and to move away from it in case there was someone there she did not mention that she had already stepped into the house and she backed out of the apartment to sit in the hall while they promised they were on her way. She then called her mother telling her the bad news and she told Rae that she would be on her way immediately. Her only thoughts were on her father’s journals and the information that they might hold. What if those were gone? She stumbled back in through the house to her room which was just as much as a disaster zone and found that they were all destroyed or gone and of no use anymore. She bit her lip with a small sigh before stepping out to allow the police in to do their job of securing the place. After driving down to the station and answering many useless questions they were free to go. Advised to spent a couple nights in a hotel while they were investigating. Her mother was a lot more affected then she was and she knew that she would not be going to school the next day. So they left with the large crime scene banner being placed on their door. She drove her mother in her car with enough belongings for the next little while to one of the hotels in the city and checked in before her mother went up and collapsed on the bed and she was set to work setting things up. This was what happened when her father had disappeared as well she had been taking care of her mother. She managed to find a place that would have a dinner that she could take back and fell asleep to awake the next day to her mother being just as listless. She brought back breakfast and they spent the day watching movies but she was antsy and set out in the afternoon for a walk in the park that was only a couple steps west of the hotel.

In the beginning, he had been rather clueless in what had happened to him and was completely unaware of what he could and could not do since he had "fallen". Believe it or not, it had been Ulrich that had pulled him out of the dark stage he was going through. That had all occurred very long ago yet he still remembered and was often haunted by the incidents of his past. Now he was very selective of his own actions as he had no intention of allowing history to repeat itself as it was known to do so. He had many reasons why he was adamant about trying to push Larae out of his life and yet he was not willing to share them with her quite openly. This fact frustrated him seeing as he did enjoy himself around her but when he remembered what harm could come to her was when he went back to being stand-offish and disrespectful of her.Of all times now he wished that he could completely erase his history since it was such a burden for everything now. The entire trip to her apartment and then the garage did not last long at all and he was not at all worried about running into anyone at the shop because he knew that today was the day most of them were off and the few stranglers did not work until much later. He was aware that the book's information should have been mostly true since the old man did know a lot and do a lot of research so most of it was probably from other's experiences. Also he was more certain of it since the research on fallen angels had proven to be true for himself and thus led to his knowledge of his own ability as well as other factors that were involved with his species. For once he was allowed not to worry about anything nor did he have to stress about things as he worked on the car and let his mind strictly focus at that to find himself quite relaxed by the actions actually. He had lost track of time when she came to join him which caught him by surprise. Naturally he was hesitant to allow her to help since he was unaware of what she actually knew and if she were to do something wrong it could easily set him back quite a bit. However, he agreed to let her do so and she proved to actually know what in the world she was doing as they worked on the Camaro in silence. Chuckle replied to her thank you followed by the explanation of how nice it was to have a source that she could actually rely on. I know, believe me. Your welcome. He commented, remembering the things he had looked into to understand what was going on for him. Then again, the availability of research had not been very common then. Now probably wasn't much of a difference since the internet's content was faulty. Still he had things to learn obviously, regarding the reactions he was having due to Larae's presence. He knew it was not normal since no other immortals had caused him to act so strange. When his head had cleared from these thoughts he moved to go get them some lunch, returning and waiting until she had gotten out and cleaned up as well. As she thanked him for the sandwich he simply nodded in return before sitting to eat his own lunch. Hearing her story on her knowledge of cars, once again head dipped into a nod because he did not want to upset her by pressing the subject. Your car is very nice, you did well. I'm impressed. He teased before going back to his own lunch. Glancing over as he heard a noise he caught notice of the peculiar look crossing her face and frowned. It's alright. He stated with a shrug as she apologized. He did not want to get her in more trouble as he had already done before, even if this time it was just with her mom. Tools were replaced to their original spots so he would not be leaving a mess nor would he get in trouble when the others couldn't find anything. Shop was returned to it's original condition before turning off the lights and locking the door after him. Looking over to see her already with the helmet on he shook his head to himself, dismissing the thought that was trying to surface. It was easy for him to tell that she was more comfortable as she was not as fidgety as initially when she held around his waist. Again he was tempted to lengthen the route but refused more so since she would be in trouble then. Seeing her go, he was handed the helmet and waited before putting it over his head as she stated their temporary good bye. No problem. He murmured quietly as she once again thanked him. Strange warmth spread up his arm from her simple touch that he knew he should not have allowed. Yet there was nothing he could have done really to prevented it. Waiting until she was out of his vision, he then drove off with the helmet slipped over his head. He didn't want to think since every though was distracting him and he instantly pulled the bike along a back alley way as strange scenes once more played out in his head. They were more frantic yet clearer then ever and made him contemplate going over to simply watch over the girl, just in case. One vision showed a strange apartment torn apart with his missing book in the midst of the mess. This unnerved him yet he had no idea what it all meant. When it all finally came to an end he continued the rest of the way to the apartment and showered before meandering to bed. His sleep was entirely restless as it was once more haunted by the horrific, vivid scenes in his mind. He could not find the girl's car in the parking lot at school and this instantly caught his attention. And then when second period came she was gone. He knew she could have been sick but something was off. Therefore he signed himself out for a doctor's appointment before getting on the motorcycle and driving away. He did not go home but to the garage where the girl's car was generally parked. It was not there and something caused the hairs on the back of his neck to rise. Something definitely was not right with any of this. Without knowing which apartment was hers, he went up the same stairs he'd seen her depart the day previous and was sure he found the right one when he caught sight of the police tape. Right there he could feel a change coming forth one he knew from other occurrences. Hand rested against the wall as he stood there for several moments but knew he could not stay long as he heard foot steps from the stairs above. He then returned to the garage to grab his bike before driving away, quite aggravated over this mess that was his fault. Now he had no idea of how she was or what exactly had happened. Trying to calm himself, he drove towards the highway to make a sharp turn as he caught sight of a familiar figure wandering through the park. He parked the Ducati before walking in lengthy strides to the girl. There was an evident change in his emotions as the rage faded to be replaced by concern. Stepping in front of her, soft expression met her gaze as hands rested lightly on both of her shoulders. What happened? He wanted to hear the story this time but was uncertain of how it would effect her. Part of him thirsted for revenge on the antagonists as he knew they were trying to get to him somehow since she was not yet a threat to them. They would pay for this, no matter what. That would be one vow he would keep. The police would never get to them which was obvious to him and it was his problem originally anyway. Right now he was worried about how she was fairing and then he would take care of them.

When he told her that her car was nice and that she did a good job she felt a beam of pride radiate through her entire body, sure she had heard it a few times but coming from him it seemed to mean a lot more. So then when they were on the way back from the garage with him dropping her off at her apartment building she could not help the smile that beamed and the carefree attitude in which she expressed. This time on the bike when she wrapped her arms around his waist and held on tight she was much more at ease and she was sure that even he was able to sense this. When he pulled away on the bike she was sad to see him go since this afternoon had been not only productive but more than civil between the two of them and she was sure that it would not be happening again anytime since it seemed that any step that they took forward they would take two steps back. When she arrived at the apartment the rest of the night was a blur of gathering enough stuff for the night but not anything that the police might use as evidence as they stood there and watched her as she gathered clothes and binders and her mother was much too distressed so she went into her mother’s room and gathered a whole bunch of stuff for the older lady. When she had finished gathering the toiletries and other things she slung the bags over her shoulders and headed down to the parking garage. Putting the bags in the mustang before getting her mother into the car. The next stop was to try to find a hotel for the night that did not look sketchy around the town and quite frankly that was few and far between. They managed to find a Best Western that was out of the slums of the area and checked in for the night. They were both exhausted so she fell asleep almost instantly to awake early the next day. Walking down the street she passed a grocery store where she bought some supplies they would need for the next couple days instead of eating out the whole time. She knew her mother would not want to go out and eat in the state that she was in. She carried a couple bags back to the hotel to place what needed to stay cold in the fridge before then preparing her mother breakfast with sausage and scrambled eggs as well as toast. She was glad that she had chosen a hotel room with a full kitchen making this a lot easier to cook. After watching movies and her mother falling into a sleep she deemed it to be alright to leave the hotel room since she really needed to get out and stretch her legs. When she passed in front of the park there was a familiar feeling that passed through her mind and the sound of a familiar motor cycle. She had not overly been paying much attention when all of a sudden he was close and hands were resting on her shoulders. Eye level was raised to meet that of stormy steel depths, when she spoke in return there was no sign of fear about the whole situation showing that she was truly not affected that badly, with all the things that had happened recently it did not seem anymore scary. Someone broke into the apartment yesterday afternoon, it looked like they were looking for something but they disguised it by smashing everything, I think it was the guy I set on fire when he attacked me. I just have that feeling. It’s not a big deal though, things happen it’s just my mother is very affected by it since they smashed a lot of things that were my dad’s. But I guess it’s a blessing in disguise since it will force her to move on. She hoped that this would not cause him to push her away even more so since that was the last thing that she wanted right now. Though she did have a feeling that he was going to somehow direct this to being his fault when that was not the truth it was far from being his fault. Why aren’t you in school? She knew that it was still well within the time frame that they were supposed to be in school.
